The salads we had were good but the service was not. The server asked if there was anything else that we needed -- when I asked for something he looked put out,I wasn't sure why -- However, when he came back with what I asked for he proceeded to give me a FYI -- for the future I could find what I needed next to the plates. I'm not sure what the appropriate answer is to What else can I get for you? -- Maybe don't ask the question if it's a self serve restaurant. Stonefire is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is great and the prices are reasonable. I love their tri-tip, but it is difficult to get it cooked "just right". Their breadsticks are awesome as are their mashed potatoes. I highly recommend their salads, especially the barbeque chopped salad with tri-tip. The servers are excellent and friendly. read more

We had Stonefire cater our wedding, and the food was PHENOMENAL. They use a special method of not completing cooking the food, then they put it in an "oven" container in the car so it finishes cooking on the way over to the event. My fiancé and I recently took a trip to Southern California and decided to try Stonefire. I remember having it at an engagement party two years earlier and loved all of the food so I wanted to take my fiancé to the actual restaurant. We were absolutely blown away. Jacob, the manager, took our order and he gave us advice on what to get in order to get the best deal but still get everything we wanted to try. After taking our order for about 10 minutes and being very patient with us bickering back and forth he ended up saying he loved our vibe and paid for our meal himself. We were both shocked and so grateful. Our food came out very quickly and EVERYTHING was phenomenal. My fiancé and I both agree that a Stonefire needs to open up in our hometown of Danville, ca because it will get major business. We only wish Jacob could come with the restaurant! very yummy and quite inexpensive! i get the medium sized salads (for like $7) and then save 1/2 of it for lunch the next day. the salads are huge! i've had several of the salads and liked all of them. my boyfriend gets the tri tip meal and it comes with a bunch of tri tip, 2 bread sticks (soo good) and a side of yummy garlic mashed potatoes. read more

Lemon chicken is good, ribs are ok. Be careful with the Greek salad since there are pits in it. Bathrooms are pretty dirty, could be the staff working that day as I didn't have that problem before . A pleasant experience. Once you get used to the "order at the counter, then sit down and wait for the food to come to you" it is great place to eat. Good size portions for the price. Parking was a disaster...couldn't find a spot....driving round and round. Definately a family atmosphere...lots of food...cheap price....large proportions. All American pay less eat more, more, and more.....and more. Everyone looked like they could have been rolling out of the restaurant with all the food they ate. Although it's not quite my style...I get a bit turned off at the "Why are Americans overweight?" I now why know, it is a lot for the buck. I grew up with my parents saying "eat everything on your plate....starving kids in Africa..etc." I just try and put less on my plate and choose healthy foods. Overall, it's an okay place....but I think I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to these restaurants. I like classy environments and quality food. read more

Recently I reviewed this place based mostly on some friends who had a very negative experience. My review was removed, probably correctly so, because it wasn't my direct experience. So I have gone back to see if I was being unfair. We ordered pizza for our kids and it was tasteless. We ordered barbecued chicken wrap and it tasted good, but was loaded with mayo and cold slaw. Great when it first opened. Ate here on a Wednesday evening, not crowded, yet most servers weren't interested in serving or helping. (Could be because tips are shared and NOT based on indiv. service.) Ribs and BBQ chopped salad with chicken are good. Food is ordered at the counter and delivered to the table. I've been eating at the Stonefire on Fallbrook since they opened and I was in high school.. years ago... I've never had one bad experience, even at the TO one, but this time... wow. The female who brought the food the table was completely rude, pretty much three the food at us AND my order was wrong and all they did was take the green onions off, not remake the salad which made it just as bad. Manager did nothing, breadsticks were cold so I asked to wait for warm ones but apparently there are other people waiting for them in front of me... WOW I just still cannot believe the awful service I received. And I spent over $55 because I was with my brother and boyfriend... i got the ribs/chicken meal. the chicken was fine, the ribs were very tough and i would not order them again. the breadsticks are amazing. i got the greek salad with my meal and it was great as well. however, the people i were with were all happy with their food, so i would go back, i would just not order the ribs. read more

I thought all Stonefire Grills were the same, until I went to the Thousand Oaks restaurant!! Impressive, the staff really went over and above to make our meal so enjoyable. By far the best location I've been to. They have the kindest staff that always makes sure everything is taken care of. One person in particular, Phoenix, makes it worth coming. He is just the sweetest and always has the most positive attitude. I have told the managers many times about how much positivity he brings and how happy guests are when he takes their order, every restaurant should have sometime like him. On Saturday, February 16, 2019, we placed a take-out order for a one pound tri-tip, a large cheese pizza, a medium southwest salad, an order of bread sticks, mashed potatoes, and a chicken wrap. The whole bill came to $67 and change. What they packed was very about 14 ounces of chewy tri-tip (I weighed it on my Weight Watchers scale. That included the container!), a petite southwest salad, and the rest of the order. (The bill charged for petite salad.) I was so embarrassed because I had to feed 6 adults and a child with this and there was not enough food. To add insult to injury, they attached a slip for an a "stimulus" special for $24.99 to one of the bags. That "stimulus" pack package included 6 breadsticks, a pound of tri-tip, one medium two topping pizza, and a small salad. Do you think the order taker even offered us the "stimulus" package. Heck no. No suggestion. We could have had double the food for what we paid. Rip-off. So we called the restaurant right after we ate. "We will send you a gift card. Sorry." That was the manager's response. A week passes. No gift card. So I decided to call back. I spoke with the "big manager." Again, the apology. He said the gift card was in the mail and that he would remind the order takers to suggest the stimulus package. No apology though for the tough tri-tip. The gift card arrived today. Ha ha! A mere $15.00. Checked it on-line. I suppose we can contest the charge on the credit card. Sorry, Stonefire. You need to hire adults to work there, not high school students with no customer service skills or real training. You also need to hire cooks who know how to measure and weigh food so people get what they are paying for, errr.... what you say it is on your menu. You lost us with this one. We get takeout quite often. I really like the lemon garlic chicken! The salads and breadsticks are very good too. The tri-tip is really tasty, but inconsistent. Sometimes (more often than not lately) the meat is too tough and fatty and inedible, so I stick with the chicken. I do wish they had an option to order chicken without skin though since I end up having to take it off and that impacts the flavor. Whenever we come in to pick up a takeout order, everyone is exceptionally friendly and helpful. read more

The food is good here but I work in the restaurant industry and I think costumer service is the most important thing. I spent money here, bought a family dinner. The family dinner feeds 4-5 people so I asked for extra bbq sauce. They said they could not give any to me because my pasta and breadsticks didn't require bbq sauce. When a costumer is spending money I believe they should be able to provide any extra sauces I desire. I ended up having to get the bbq sauce from the dispenser and hold them in the car.
