Laspada had a lit up sign in the window saying they're "open." I seem to recall Next Door Boca giving them decent reviews. I am a native of Philly, hometown of the hoagie. I thought I'd give this place a try. I ran from my car through the rain and tugged on the door....locked. The door hours say open at 11! So much for the lit "open" sign. They have outdoor metal tables and chairs under an awning. I sat at an outdoor table for ten minutes. I looked through the storefront window at a couple employees prepping and I read the wall menu. A guy unlocked the place at 11. I let a young family and several other guys go ahead of me. Guy at the slicing wheel waited on me. I ordered a small Mama Lastrada turkey & salami on wheat. There's about a half dozen employees behind the counter dealing with the assembly line of customers and sandwiches. Guy at the slicing wheel tells me one of the other guys will work on my sandwich. Okay. However, I can't move down the line because there's customers still lined up ahead of me waiting for their food. Slicing wheel guy looks up at me a minute later and asks what he can get for me. I look back at him waiting for him to recognize me from a minute ago when he already had sliced my order. No recognition! I repeated my order to him. Now he remembers me! He again refers me to one of his junior sandwich prep guys. I overheard him telling a busy junior guy, "This is just a small Mama on wheat" or something like that. Still, I can't go down the line because there's guy ahead of me had placed an order for 3 sandwiches. I swear to you that the slicing wheel guy asks me for a THIRD time for my order! By this time, I felt like I was in a Monty Python sketch. I repeated my order. Again, he refers me to a third junior associate (Manny, Moe, and Jack)? Finally, a young associate asked me for toppings. I had noticed two lettuce bins. One bin looked fine. The other looked a little brown. I decided to skip the lettuce rather than ask him to pick from the left hand bin and embarrass them. I also saw a black speck in the onion bin. It probably was nothing but I decided to skip onions just to be safe. I chose tomatoes, Swiss cheese, pickles and sweet peppers. The debit card reader asks if I want to tip. I skipped that. Price was reasonable. Hoagie was okay. The roll was soggy. Philly hoagie shops pride themselves on their rolls. I understand this is Florida, not Philly. I can appreciate this place is popular and busy. However, being asked for my order 3 times by the same experienced worker there left me feeling less than special as a customer.

They bring in huge crowds (long lines; sometimes out the door for a good 50 foot)... and they have a lot of staff making these wraps on the assembly line but the staff are not consistent so don't be surprised if one wrap is wet and another day is dry, or one wrap is tightly rolled and another is falling apart; my biggest gripe is the fatty meat I got once so I just avoid roast beef... With that said, I have continued to come and I have learned to (1) order the wraps you know you like (don't experiment) and (2) try to use the staff you recognize from times your wrap was really good. Since then I have been ordering the same wrap every time (CHICKEN CESAR WRAP as it comes with the addition of sun-dried tomatoes) and it's been better... I learned that the original Vinny's was sold many years ago so the TikTok famous Vinny's is under different ownership from when I was growing up. However, the real Vinny is back making wraps (and making him themself) at VC's Kitchen. We were there on Easter Sunday and while there were people stopping in for their cesar salad wrap fix there were no long lines. We were in and out...and left very full (and we shared wraps). The entire family is a fan and insisted that VC's become part of our regular rotation when we visit my parents in Boca a few times a year.
