Everything was amazing! From our server, Bobbie, to the food we were so impressed! We were in the area when we decided to eat and googled looking for a steakhouse. I'm so glad we found this place! They took us in without a reservation and it was all phenomenal from there. We had salads, crab cake, steaks, and salmon and based on all of that being off the chain we decided to add dessert which we had to carry most of it with us. This was my family's first time at Stoney River, I was very disappointed in the actual quality of the food for the price. We started with the spinach dip which was only ok, nothing to call home about. My husband got the special which was a mahi mahi he said it was just fine. I had the ribeye I ordered medium with Gouda Mac and cheese, the steak come out well done, grey all the way through, the Mac was drenched in oils and butter. I did get them to redo my steak and it still wasn't up to par. The seasoning was also basic. Our waitress Christin was absolutely fantastic though, couldn't have asked for better. The food was decent but the service made me feel uncomfortable. I went back in April and am still thinking about how weird it made me feel, so I decided to write this review. When I walked in I was immediately *not* greeted by the two hostesses who just blank stared at me. I had never been there before and am new to the neighborhood so I was expecting a welcome greeting instead of dirty looks and a staring contest. I eventually broke the silence by blatantly asking "...is this a restaurant?" Out of pure awkwardness. The hosts still did not respond and I ended up walking by them to sit at the bar so I could seat myself. The two bartenders took about 10 minutes to ask if I needed a drink. It's a small bar so it was odd to me that it took so long. Then when I asked about the red wines, I felt the very young bartender couldn't answer basic questions. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience last night at Stoney River with our party of four included my elderly In-laws. We made the reservations a couple of weeks ago and due to no reservations available on Valentines Day we chose the day before and early enough to beat the crowds at 5pm. We were seated in the bar area under a TV and did not realize at first that our server was the bartender (Lorissa sp?). She mentioned that we would have multiple servers as well (another warning we did not realize). Looking back, all of this contributed to our terrible service. We ordered drinks and appetizers to start and after a few minutes we ordered our soup, salad and main course. Unfortunately and to our surprise our soup and salad arrived first by another server. We sent back explaining to the new server that we have not received our appetizers. After finishing our appetizer our soup and salad was delivered. Not two minutes into our soup and salad our main course was delivered by a third server. Our frustration at this point was to send the main course back and asked for the Manager. The Manager did come over (Herb) and was very apologetic and said he was going to look into. I also brought up that part of all this was being seated in the bar area and being served by the bartender who was very busy at a full bar. I asked Herb if our seat was considered the dining area and he said yes. I disagreed, when you are seated by the bar, under a TV and served by the bartender, you are in the bar area. Our reservation details actually showed "Dining Room" on the the ticket received........ When our main course was delivered my Cowboy Ribeye unfortunately was over cooked and I can only imagine that it was placed under a warmer and continued to cook after we sent it back to a medium vs. the medium rare I had requested. Herb did swing by again and I asked him what he thought my steak showed and he agreed it was medium and took it back again. Herb did bring back a fresh Cowboy Ribeye and asked that I cut into it to be sure it was ok and it was. After everything we decided against deserts and asked for our check. Lorissa (bartender) brought the check and explained that she asked that the restaurant remove our food from the ticket and only charged us for our drinks. Although we did not ask for this and came to the restaurant fully expecting a bill north of $400 the entire evening was already ruined. Placing us in the bar area and served by the bartender who was very busy and not too friendly to boot contributed to everything. The appetizers were most likely forgotten and sent in after our soup & salad and it was downhill from there. While in Nashville I made a last minute reservation for here and it was amazing! We weren't sure where our airbnb was so it made it hard to plan ahead. Thankfully we were able to make reservations same day. We got to celebrate my husbands birthday here and they did a wonderful job. Great place for a birthday dinner! I made reservations for two on a Wednesday night at 6:30. Probably didn't need one on a weekday, but can see needing one during the weekend. We were seated right away, and our server, Tracy, was absolutely amazing! She was on top of everything and made the night very special. She even gave us a free anniversary champagne toast too, even though we were just celebrating a birthday! The champagne was pretty good! We did order other drinks as well, the pretty in pink and the matador. They were okay, but I would try something else. LOVED the bread and the sweet honey butter, plus they kept the basket full. Our soups came very quickly after we ordered them. We got French onion and lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was creamy, had a little kick, had chunks of lobster, and was full of flavor. 10/10 would order every time. My fiancé loved his French onion soup, and it was very cheesy! Once we were done with our soup, it was only a few more minutes then our entrees came out. We both got filet mignon, and he got his coffee crusted. Both were cooked perfectly and they were juicy. The sides were amazing too! The mashed potatoes were creamy and smooth, and the Mac and cheese was pretty good. It was a little dry, but tasty. I wish the green beans were always on the menu because they had the perfect crunch, but sadly they are seasonal. We had to take his birthday cake home because we were stuffed from dinner, but Tracy still brought it will a candle. It was a nice gesture. The atmosphere was smooth with awesome jazz music background playing the standards. The good looking staff was attentive grac and professional. The French onion soup was delicious and the crab cake appetizer was a must have. The steak filet Oscar with hollandaise sauce was amazing. The only disappointment was the carrot cake (it was too 0verly /moist; tasted bland) had an awful consistency and I'd never ordered it again. It was expensive and awful. When I got home I threw the entire cake into the trash. I would have given the restaurant 5 Stars but the dessert menu was sparse and boring. The carrot cake was not edible. I'd leave and go somewhere else for dessert and coffee. Everything was amazing but the carrot cake was a big disappointment and let down. In past years we go to Stoney River for all occasions such as anniversary,birthdays etc. we went this past week for our 38 anniversary dinner. We each ordered fillets, my wife had the coffee steak and I had a plain fillet. We both ordered medium which should be a warm pink center. My wife's was a little overdone but she chose to keep it. However, mine was so raw in the center that it was actually cold to the touch. They took my $50 steak and put it back on the grill. When it came back it was about half the size as when they took it. I told them to cook me a complete steak. I waited about 25 minutes and called a manager over. By this time my wife was totally done with her meal. The manager went back and got the steak not asking me to check to see if it was done correctly. I simply asked for it to be boxed to take home. I opened it for lunch the next day, and it was so overdone, I could barely cut it with a steak knife. Needless to say it ended up in the trash. They ended up not charging me for my meal, but our annual anniversary was ruined. I don't care about the money the dinner cost, We just wanted a nice quiet moment with a good steak. I must say that we have been going there for years with total enjoyment, however I feel this will be our last visit. read more

I was there for a conference/banquet so my experience may be a little different, but it was really nice. So first, there are a bunch of reviews that say it's valet parking only. I don't think that's the case now, I actually didn't even see a valet but it is a Tuesday. Definitely a positive because valet would be totally inappropriate here. Like the guy in the bathroom that hands you a towel. (There isn't one of those either, just sayin'). We had a fixed menu that had a salad with a very assertive vinaigrette and too much of it, actually the only negative thing. The little bread puffs really do taste like hot donut holes as someone else mentioned and are delicious. We had a choice of a fish, I think a chicken and a filet. Everyone at the table (minus one) got the filet and they were all adequately sized and every one cooked perfectly! And there were like 50 covers all at once, so go you! The one other was a vegetarian and they made her something off the menu that I guess she liked. Mashed potatoes were really good, if you look at the other pics they look dry but were not. Broccoli was spectacular, and I'm a broccoli snob. I would imagine they steam it then finish it with a sear in some buttery herbed oil. It's the perfect crisp-tender texture that only has a 15 second window to get right. Bravo, chefs. Had I the option, I would have ordered the baked potato and mushrooms, but was not disappointed. Didn't really care for either glass of wine, but I don't even know what they were, just got to pick a Malbec and a Pino. Neither were undrinkable, but both very astringent for what they should have been. Anyway, overall great night, we had a great presentation (no A/V issues, no blaring music, servers were always there like ninjas) and will hopefully be back, thanks! I went here for a girl's night with my best friend on the way to the ballet. Everything was delicious! The poppy seed rolls and butter were fantastic. This was my first time at Stoney River Steakhouse on 1/14/2022. I would suggest making a reservation ahead of time, this steakhouse is popular. I had the Famous Steak and Biscuit's with fries for $19.00, it's under the specialty area of the menu. The steak was prepared just like I ordered it and the biscuits were very moist and very tasty. The French fries were cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Our waiter was wonderful and had some great suggestions for food and drinks, we ordered A couple of the things he suggested and we were very happy with them. They have a very nice wine menu as well as specialty drinks. Everyone at our table really liked the food they ordered. I highly recommend ordering the chocolate fudge cake for dessert, I think it's probably the best cake I have ever had. We were celebrating my sons birthday and they gave him a large slice for free for his birthday. We will for sure be back the next time we visit the Nashville area and highly recommend Stoney River Steakhouse. read more

Service here is over the top! The atmosphere is amazing and the staff is diligent about you having the best experience. We went here for our anniversary. When we arrived the staff had signed a card for us. It was an endearing gesture. The food was great but my husband is pretty particular about his steak. They came to check how our meal was and my husband mentioned everything was wonderful but his steak was a bit overcooked. They replaced the meal which was totally not expected but was so appreciated. Was looking for the "Outback Steak House" on West End, but apparently it has closed. We passed this on the way, and decided to go here for dinner instead. What a nice place. Upscale, very nice, and trendy inside. Service was excellent, and although we did not have reservations, we were accommodate, but they were full so we had to sit at the bar. Perfect for a quiet dinner with a special someone, or a classy place to take the relatives in town. They were busy, and always responsive. Food was great, as I expected it would be. I will be back. Why not 5 stars? Because the food took quiet a while. I wasn't in a rush, but we were hungry, and the wait was a little long. We were informed a few times that the kitchen was backed up. They also had an outdoor patio with heaters. I ordered the house salad for starters and the steak and baked potato for an entree. The salad was HUGE!!!! Had I known that, I probably wouldn't have ordered it. Halfway through my salad, my entree arrived. It wasn't a big deal but I felt a bit rushed to finish my salad. Anywho, my entree was great. All of the food, from salad to dessert, was top notch in both presentation and flavor! Our server, Kristen, went above and beyond for our special evening! My cousin had the 16oz prime rib & I had the 14 ounce ribeye, and we were delighted with both of our entrées. We shared a $13 slice of carrot cake for dessert & I had a cappuccino afterwards. The carrot cake was phenomenally huge & definitely a showstopper because people at the tables near to us were commenting on its presentation -it was an ostentatious & delicious slice of carrot cake. It was such a huge slice, that it was as though we were eating the whole carrot cake, which made the experience a lot of fun. My cappuccino was wonderfully flavorful. I'd come back to this restaurant, but it is overpriced. For these prices, everything should be delectable & it was not.
