We decided to try this little side cafe while waiting to be seated. From the moment I entered the cafe I felt like it was super crowded and very unorganized! Servers passing in front, to the side and behind you at all times one wrong live and someone's dinner would be all over you. The young man who was taking our simple order of two teas and a gelato seemed overwhelmed and anxious. After he took order he didn't give us a number of asked for our names so we decide to wait outside to not over crowd the already crowded area. After what it seemed forever I went to go check on our order while I waiting the same young man was taking an order for gelato. To my surprise he served the other customers right then and there. My face said it all! I was upset at the fact that I did not get the same service and go too it off the got my tea order wrong. We left and I will not be coming I will also not be recommending this while in the wall to anyone! read more

The first time here and everything was great. We had to wait about 30 minutes for our table. The service was superb. From wait staff to a bartender and a host. The misto salad was fresh, simple yet delicious. Lettuce was crispy and fresh. The rigatoni was cooked Al dente. The sausage pieces in the pasta were on a salty side but I tend to eat bland. Pasta was good. I ordered a tiramisu and this is where I was so disappointed. The ladyfingers in my tiramisu were dry, hard and chewy. Someone forgot to soak them in coffee in a liquor. Even the waitstaff noticed and acknowledged it. How difficult is it? I will certainly be back for home made pasta. But the ending to my dinner wasn't ideal. read more

I had to come back and update my review, today I came in again with my girlfriend to do some work and get lunch. The owner was so nice and accommodated us in the cafe side of the restaurant but still gave us full service, she even personally served us! I can't even give 1 star and not based on the food because the food is amazing. The gentleman that works the hostess table is beyond RUDE. Not only did we wait over an hour for a table (and told for over 35 mins we were the next table) and he came out to say our table was ready just to turn around and say "oh sorry, you're a not the reservation. You have to wait longer and I can't tell you how long!" He was so rude and should never be in a customer service based role. He was so unprofessional and then went to get a manager and she was 10x worse. They way they spoke to customers in inexcusable. Such a shame because the food and owners are amazing. My wife and I went to Storico Cafe for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We were one of the first ones there after they opened and were taken care Of promptly. We were satisfied with our food as well as the service. It was a great spot for breakfast in Old Town on a Sunday morning. I would definitely recommend it. Love this place! The food is good (been to both the restaurant and the cafe) and service is great. My only complaint is that it seems to be closed a lot. Google will often say it is open and when I show up, it's closed. I havent been in a while because of this. I love going to storico Saturday mornings to enjoy their pistachio cream cold brew! They also have a wonderful breakfast frittata with sausage that is super tasty. It's truly a hidden gem in Old Town Tustin. It is across the street from 2 other coffee shops but I really enjoy how they make their pistachio foam! Definitely worth visiting for a cute place to dine. For lunch and dinner they also have a wonderful Italian restaurant connected to it, so if you miss breakfast then still stop by for lunch or dinner. They have a wonderful fig balsamic and wine. It is family owned and they are super friendly. We love coming here! read more

We have been here twice, both times during COVID. Patio sitting is small but spacious enough for a well distance experience. The to-go set up was also very convenient and were prompt on the given time for pick up. Every pasta dish we tried, and we purposely switched it up to try more items, were amazing. So fresh and savory. Not a beat was missed. Back home in Argentina there was a local pasta vendor. My grandma used to make me go there and pick up what we needed for Sunday supper. Great experience, I had a phenomenal time here. Their food is authentic and delicious (all of it). There pizza joint in the back is as good ( extremely delicious). I do have to shout out Genesis and Abby as they gave us an incredible costumer service experience at the coffee area. Wanted to like this place :( Went to the cafe first- waited for the rest of my group to come in before I ordered something. Once they were there, and had ordered their items, I went to the front several times, but because there was only one person working, making many drinks for other people who had ordered before me, she didn't see that I was there. I come back when she's done, only to be talking with who I assume is an owner or something and they talk for a good long while while I wait at the front to order an almond ricotta cake (which I couldn't find a price anywhere for but whatever). Still talking for about 5 mins while I'm standing there ready to order, then I just decide not to get anything if I have to work this hard to order 1 item that's already made, I don't want to give them my business. Then, later on we move to go to the restaurant because my group wanted to. Service was great on this end, friendly and timely. Ordered the pesto and it is by far the worst, most bland pesto I have ever had, and for $20, yikes. Storico cafe in old twin tustin is a drop dead gorgeous cafe. I love the vintage look, beautiful grande refrigerators for beverages, and the outdoor seating. The food service is great too, the food is served quickly during lunchtime, although at dinner it can get a bit busy. The food taste good, it is not excellent however. They could work on adding more salt and flavor to the pastas. Usually the pasta is good but it's missing the oomph, maybe more lemon, salt, and seasoning. Also, the pasta sauce is more on the running side if your a fan of that, i prefer mine to be rich, creamy, and thick instead. Storico is located in DT Tustin and while I would recommend reservations, we were able to walk right in. Cute dining area, romantic setting. Salsiccia Rigatoni is where it's at. I've ordered it in house and for take out and it is great every time. The rigatoni is cooked so well, it's not too hard and not too squishy. Just perfect! The red meat sauce is so flavorful, salty but not too salty. Hardy but not filling. Serving size has been large enough for me to have a decent dinner and leftover lunch the next day. Went there last night for coffee with friends. I ordered a coffee and pastry while we waited for the rest of the group. I had originally ordered a waffle but then I changed my mind and wanted a different pastry. I hadn't paid yet, they were still ringing me up. However the girl charging me had to have a whole meeting with another employee on whether they could change my order. Mind you, they hadn't charged me yet. So all they had to do is remove the waffle and ring me up for the second pastry. However this was a difficult task and it required more than one person to be able to make that transaction. After much deliberation they just swapped my pastry and I went on my way. A few minutes later I my beverage being called. Previously the girl had asked if it was for here or to go and I indicated I would be eating inside the restaurant. I picked up a beverage that was in a ceramic mug and brought it to the table where we were sitting. A few seconds later I hear one of the girls telling me I picked up the wrong beverage and points to a beverage that was in a to go cup. She seemed annoyed at me for grabbing the wrong beverage and another girl starts to complain how she has to make the drink all over again. I hadn't drank from this one yet. A few minutes later we get kicked off the table where we were sitting at because they were going to sit someone else. We sat in some chairs and waited for our friends for another 10 minutes. No one was sat at the other table. I feel like they just wanted us to leave. These petty exchanges left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't see myself ever coming back. But there are lots of fun and interesting flavored lattes that you wouldn't expect inside of a spaghetteria. When I came, I had the Latte Noci Dolci (hazelnut & almond) and my bf had the Oregon Rain Tea Latte (green tea w/ almond). Both drinks were very good! For the past few years, we have been searching for our go-to Italian restaurant. We have tried several places and have been meaning to try Storico. We visited the restaurant on 9/9/23 and were extremely pleased with all aspects of our time at Storico. Unfortunately you are unable to make reservations prior to arriving unless you have a party of six or more. However, while you are waiting you can visit their coffee bar or their other adjoining business "Centro" to get a glass of wine or beer while you wait. We were able to purchase wine tasters while waiting and the service was amazing. When we weee called for our table, we were welcomed by several servers and made us feel right at home. We purchased the arancini for an appetizer and two homemade pasta dishes. Additional, they have their own wine selections that you can try in a taster set. It was a great option if you just want to try a few wines. Tiramisu was the dessert of choice and it was very good as well. Between the amazing service, great food options that were fresh and homemade, and the wine selection, we have found our go-to Italian restaurant. I would highly recommend giving Storico a chance for a nice evening out. read more

What a score. We have been all over Italy and would gladly drive back here for the delicious pasta. I had the Salsicca-Italian sausage, with tomato paste, fresh garlic, oregano and lite cream. My son had the Carbonata-pancetta, Parmigiano cheese, cooked egg and lite cream, my other son the Gamberi e prosciutto, shallots, white wine, tomato paste and lite cream.
