I was a bummed after I tried this Stout's location. I had been to the New Braunfel's location that recently closed and I liked my pizza much better there! We ordered the same pizza, The William Chris and it was just not as good as the first time...this time it was really thin crust that wasn't baked enough and they forgot the drizzle of ranch that was supposed to be baked onto the pizza. I'm glad I used a groupon or I would have been sad about the price. We also order 2 beers, $6.95 a glass, and they didn't pour it well either. Well above average for the area. Never too crowded, and off the beaten path. Family oriented, but no screaming little peeps running around. Just right. I get my crust done a little crispy. Don't care for droopy slices. And ask for a little extra garlic, if you prefer. They are shy with that, but will customize your meal happily. Great service and good teamwork. Shines thru in their product. They need to up their beer selection and if so, could almost compete with Pinthouse in Austin. Well, a distant second maybe. Pizza was "ok" a little too thin for our liking. Oddly enough they don't sell wings that was a bummer. We were a party of four- two adults, teen and child. What can I say, these guys make GREAT pizza! Everything is fresh and made onsite. I'm a crust lover, and they have incredibly delicious crust. I loved this pizza at Gametown and this new pizza place does not disappoint. You can't beat fresh pizza and great selections of beer. Although I have never had a salad, I have seen them and they look delicious. The owner explained to me that all the ingredients are fresh and even the dressings are made in house! While waiting out Hurricane Harvey, I checked out Stout's Pizza after reading very positive reviews here. I ordered the Stout's Special with green olives and mushrooms added. The customer service was very friendly and obliging. But the pizza was only "good", not "outstanding" as I was hoping. Everything just seemed to be lacking a "Wow Factor." The crust was decent but for some reason I was thinking wood oven (like when I lived and worked in the NE, nothing like a wood oven pie if you've never had one!!!). The sauce didn't pop out and the toppings just kinda showed up, much like the Texas Longhorns of late. Maybe my additions did something to take away from the Special pizza. Bit this pizza wasn't what I was hoping for. I've had worse, for sure. But this pizza just wasn't what I was hoping for. read more

Bomb pizza, dough is hand tossed. They also offer Gluten Free Crust, which is handmade in Austin and it's a very yummy thin crust! Our favorite is the Greek pizza. Thursday's they have a wine deal, buy a bottle, get a free Large Pizza. This is a pretty sweet deal, although the wine selection wasn't the greatest. ( more local please). Delicious specialty pizzas and a great location in the Northwoods Mall area. Everything is made fresh so it's a quality product. Good value on salads and regular pizza. Everyone was SUPER friendly and nice, which makes it so hard to leave such a low review. The pizza was undercooked and kinda flavorless, except for the overwhelming saltiness of it all. Still, its pizza and it wasn't inedible. The biggest turnoff of the place was its sheer filthiness. We were one of two other parties in the joint and three tables sat full of junk. Not just a few plates but a horrific display of what must have been the rowdiest of patrons. Those table sat dirty for the duration of our stay.... which alarmed me enough to be more observant. The floors were littered with crumbs, napkins and food. Baseboards were stained and even though the floors are black, you could see dried spills throughout the establishment. We ended up at Stouts by accident, since the Boston's across 1604 where we were going to meet friends was dark and had "For Lease" signs on it. However, we can't say that this was a bad thing for our evening get together since our experience at Stout's made for a pleasant evening. When you enter Stouts, they have a large counter where you order your food either from the menu or the chalkboard specials over the counter. Our friends had arrived before us and ordered a large pepperoni pizza and a salad to split, while we got a medium Buffalo Chicken pizza. Regular prices were reasonable and many of the specials added pitchers of beer or sides so that the cost was actually much lower than other pizza parlors I have gone to. Once you order, you self serve any drinks and take a number to your table so that they can deliver your food. We had to wait a little while (20-30 minute range) for our orders, which was just a hair longer than I think is reasonable for pizza to order and the low crowd level in the restaurant. I got the impression that they were understaffed, the staff was under trained, or some combination of the two. We weren't in a rush so the wait wasn't a huge issue, but we did have a few small service issues once our food did arrive. First, our friends salad was large (and they had indicated it would be split between them at the counter) but they only brought out one fork for them - also, it was delivered at the same time as the pizza, instead of as an appetizer. They did note that they had not specifically asked for it separate from the pizza, so I would recommend being very specific with appetizer/split items at the register when you order to avoid this confusion. As for our food, when our pizza arrived the waiter delivering it had trouble figuring our how to set it on the wire pizza stand they used at the table (fairly standard at most parlors) and in the process managed to dip his hand in my friend's drink. He did apologize profusely for that and got her a new drink immediately. However, we had to ask him for plates when he returned, since he never brought them for my husband and I. The slightly slow service and small mix-ups/miss steps are really the only reason that I didn't give a higher rating based on this visit, since the food was actually very tasty. Our friends didn't seem to dislike their salad and commented that their pepperoni pizza was delicious. The Buffalo chicken pizza my husband and I ordered was also very delicious - and also made differently than I've seen before. The chicken was very finely shredded and mixed in with the cheese, which was layered over the buffalo wing sauce. When it cooked, it became a nice mix of the cheese, sauce and chicken that didn't over load the pieces of pizza and had a nice, balanced flavor. Overall, we would give the food itself 4-4.5 stars. One final note is that the TVs in the location were rather loud, which did make it a little hard to talk - of course, we sat directly under one of them so we take some of the blame for that issue. Also, the bathrooms and serving room were all clean and looked well maintained. I am hopeful that a future visit (and we do intend to visit Stout's again) will provide us with a better service experience so I can increase my review. Basically, I would recommend going for good pizza and a leisurely time, not if you need a super fast lunch. read more

I almost walked out of this place before I even put in my order. There were at least five to six tables that had not been cleaned and there was no apparent hurry to get to them. Not a good first impression, tells me that the employees don't care about the appearance of their store to the customer and if they don't care about what I can see, how much could they care about what I don't see back in the kitchen. Besides that, the pizza was just a half step above Peter Pan's in quality an full step above it in price. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable or special either. The pizza was so light and flavorful, the meats had incredible taste without being super greasy. The sauce is the most perfect balance of tomato flavor I have had, and I just really loved the pizza. Awesome gluten free pizzas!!!! Oh my goodness! Ok, I eat a lot of gluten free pizzas, primarily in Dallas and these beat them all. First of all they were actually reasonably priced. So I wasn't being punished for once for being gluten intolerant. Secondly, they were 12 inches! They were real pizzas not skimpy little things. And lastly, they tasted awesome!
