Ordered through DoorDash (so maybe the issue was with them- although these look almost intentionally poorly packaged) So sad to have these arrive looking like this and unable to serve for thanksgiving

I feel like we have a habit of forgetting places like this exist until it's someone's birthday but when one of those occasions comes around you're extra excited cause you get to get cupcakes that taste like paradise.

Sugar Mama's Bake Shop is the kind of place that reminds you why local bakeries matter. From the moment you walk in, it has this groovy, welcoming vibe that feels like a treat in itself. We ordered a Jurassic Park-themed cake for my son's 7th birthday, and they absolutely crushed it. The detail, the design, and the creativity went above and beyond. But it wasn't just about looks--when we cut into it, the cake tasted just as good as it looked. Moist, flavorful, and clearly made with care. What really stood out is how they made the whole experience feel magical for my son. That kind of personal touch is hard to find, and Sugar Mama's delivers it effortlessly. It's no wonder they've won awards. Between the vibe, the service, and the quality, this is a bakery that knows how to do it right.

still a winner! if you live in atx, this should be your go-to bakery. they are reasonably priced, but not at the cost of flavor. each dessert item is decadent and rich. i am definitely a sugar mama's super fan! try any and EVERYTHING!! you honestly can't go wrong bonne appétit

We wanted cupcakes so I used Yelp to find this wonderful shop! We were there on a Saturday at 4:30 PM and there were lots of choices available. We took them to go and enjoy them over the next few days. All of the cupcakes were moist and tasty. The champion carrot cake was my favorite.

Not from Austin and ordered a cake for my daughters birthday. When it was opened to serve as you can see Birthday was spelled wrong. I called the shop and was told by the employee that answered "we all human, mistakes happen". I emailed the shop with no reply, left messages for the shop owner/manager....no response. Very expensive cake to have Birthday misspelled.

The absolute best. Friendly service. Cute little shop! And the best cupcakes. I am currently enjoying the disco lemonade and I am so sad it's only sold in July. Please make this a staple! I picked these up for a coworkers birthday and the majority of my office had never had Sugar Mama's before. I created a monster because now everyone wants a dozen for their birthdays, too. Great success! I couldn't get a photo of all the cupcakes before people started to take from it!

Love love love this place!!! Just bought a cake from there for a birthday and its amazing I was completely blown away. I got the red velvet flavor ( I can't remember the exact name) and we all enjoyed it very much!!

Thank you! I ordered cookies to celebrate my masters graduation, and I ordered custom made cookies from Sugar Mama's. They were delicious! An aesthetic cookie with just the right amount of sweetness, and not plastered with mounds of icing. If you are looking for custom designed cookies for a special event, highly recommend Sugar Mama's!

This place is adorable! The service was incredible - the guy at the front was super friendly and helpful! We got a lemon bar and a salted caramel cheesecake (both to die for) the cheesecake though was INSANE!! We also got a dog treat for our chihuahua and he LOVED it - he is usually picky with dog treats lol right next door is a cute coffee shop too!

Hopped off the plane and the first place my friend took me to was this bakery. Just like a lot of place in Austin, it's cute and quaint looking from the outside. Once inside, I was amazed at how much they had in both decor and baked goods. It is indeed tiny but so well decorated, it didn't feel crammed. I got some peanut butter cookies and my friend got a couple cupcakes. I didn't taste them until much later and then was disappointed I didn't just buy all the cookies they had remaining. I see why my friend likes this place but since I'm not a cake/cupcake person, I would have loved to see more cookies. Otherwise, it was delicious!

    Three Austin Inspired Cookies

We needed a local bakeshop to add into our goodie bags at work - sugar mama's did not disappoint! They were super quick and had the cookies ready for us to pick up within 48 hours!!

My husband ordered the Campfire with added ice cream, which was rich and very chocolaty. The charred marshmallow on top was a great touch and made it extra indulgent. Overall, a great late night dessert stop with solid flavors and friendly service. Definitely worth checking out when you're craving something sweet!

I was craving Ube and might have gone a bit overboard on ordering dessert because they had so many Ube options. The building is colorful and decorated in bright pink with fun artwork and decor for an uplifting vibe. The line moved quickly and the service was friendly fast and efficient. I was able to place my order and pay with Apple Pay. I ordered the Taiyaki Sundae with black sesame and ube swirl soft serve served in a fish shaped mochi Belgian style waffle with Oreo dust on top. You can customize your sundae with filling like organic red sweet beans, Nutella or custard and toppings like Oreo dust, fruity pebbles or rainbow sprinkles. I ate this on site and the nutty black sesame balanced the sweet ube perfectly, and the Oreo topping added the best crunch. They had a variety of mochi donut flavors. Lucky for me, nothing was sold out today. I ordered the Oreo ube mochi donut and ube milk tea to-go. I ate the mochi donut later that day and it was probably my least favorite item from my order. It had the chewy mochi texture however I didn't get enough of the rich ube flavor. It had somewhat of a bitter aftertaste and the Oreo overpowered the ube. I drank the ube milk tea the next day and it was creamy, smooth, and not overly sweet. I really enjoyed the flavor profile of the beverage and would order it again. Overall, enjoyed my selections and will be back to try more dessert options and flavors from one of the most unique Asian dessert spots in Austin!

Even so, the ambience seems like the decorations were cute, but very cheap and damaged overtime with little to no repairs. But I didn't come here for aesthetics. I came here for great Boba tea and sweet treats. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. What looked like a traditional milk toast dessert, was literally four pieces of stale bread, toasted and stacked on top of each other. that tasted freezer burnt with lots of sauce on top. No topping between each layer so it was not flavorful or tasty and all you could taste was a weird chemical flavor from the bread. Same thing with the ice cream, so freezer burnt that it tasted of chemicals, cardboard, and didn't even melt despite sitting on the plate for 15+ minutes. The Taro tea itself was fine with the crème brûlée topping, but the brown sugar Boba had the same chemical "going bad" flavor to it. It was super hard and bitter tasting instead of sweet. The soufflé pancakes were fine, but the ice cream was terrible on that too. It's hard to mess up Ice Cream, but somehow they managed.
