Pizza is always fresh and creative combinations . We always come here and it's local and easy to come too . They have seasonal ones too so make sure you follow their social media to get updates. They have a Nutella one sometimes that is delicious!

Sugo Pizza was so good! The pizza was fresh, flavorful, and had the perfect crust. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and every slice was delicious. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was great, and I'll definitely be coming back. Easily one of my favorite pizza spots I've tried recently!

EDIT: Sandro, the owner reached out to me and made me aware that they improved a lot of our processes since I ate here, especially with their online orders. They have gone through a dough upgrade so that the pizzas can travel better. Unfortunately I live out of state and cannot give them another try, but keep this in mind when you see my review. REVIEW: My review is specially for a Togo order. We placed it for a specific time, picked it up a couple minutes past the "it's ready" message, and drove it 6 minutes back to our hotel. By the time we opened up the box, the pizza looked phenomenal, but was cold and tasteless. I was extremely disappointed because the reviews for this location are great, and the pizza was overpriced. I would not recommend ordering Togo, or eating here in general.

First time at Sugo and was so impressed! They have a large variety of pizzas to choose from that can be ordered by the slice or whole. All pizzas are available in their display case, and once you order your flavor, they will bake it and have it out to you in no time! I especially appreciated how flexible the staff was. They were able to make any of the flavors without cheese (dairy-free) by request. They let me know it would take a bit longer to be ready, but I did not mind waiting. I ordered the Contadina pizza that came with italian sausage, caramelized onions, and chives. It was absolutely delicious and immediately had me excited to come back and order again!

I'd been wanting to try this place for a while, and I finally stopped by to pick up a couple of pizzas. The place is small with just a few seats along the wall. I ordered the Queso Fundido and the Japanese pizza -- both were incredibly unique and packed with flavor. The crust was crispy, light, and perfectly done. The Japanese pizza was surprisingly delicious; the combination of mozzarella, sautéed mushrooms, porchetta, kewpie miso sauce, and bonito flakes worked really well together. Every bite had a great balance of savory and umami flavors. The Queso Fundido was also excellent, topped with mozzarella, Mexican spicy sausage, oven-roasted potatoes, charred poblano peppers, and tomatillo sauce. It was flavorful and well-executed. Overall, both pizzas were creative, memorable, and absolutely worth trying.

Great variety of flavors. Love how you can get it by the slice (a decently large slice!). I do wish the crust was a little less baked so when they reheated it it wasnt as crispy. Overall would go back to try again.

Finally tried Sugo on their two-year anniversary. Loved the creative flavors of their Roman-style pizza! Slices range from $6.60-$8.50, with specials at $9. They cut each slice in half, which makes it perfect for sharing! We got four slices to share between two people, which was more than enough. My fave was the Japanese slice with porchetta, shiitake mushrooms, bonito flakes and miso kewpie mayo drizzle. The Killer Bee is another winner, with pepperoni, hot honey and Gorgonzola. While I like the Chorizo Al Pastor, it was a little on the spicy side for me (great if you like it hot). The Margherita was a little boring by comparison. Looking forward to seeing what other interesting flavors they develop! Limited seating indoors and outdoors. You can also order online (which is what I did).

Every one of the pizzas was filled with toppings and cooked to order. I love the display for all the choices and helpful servers to answer questions. The crust bread is SO tasty and fresh. I'm coming back just to have crust like this check out the photos for the deets!!!

Sandro and the staff at Sugo are the sweetest! Earlier this month, I posted a 5 star review of me trying out Sugo for the first time and loving it, but mentioned that it was a bit of a wait on a Friday but the wait was totally understandable due to the dinner rush and it was truly worth the wait! Sandro, the owner, reached out to me in my messages and offered two free slices. We came back to try their limited edition Baby Boy and Yo Mama slices and got an additional Chorizo Al Pastor slice since that was our favorite last time. All of the slices were fresh and delicious! Amazing customer service from the Sugo team!

New flavors! Baby Boy and Queso Fundido!

I've been coming to Sugo Pizza in Costa Mesa since they first opened, and at this point it's honestly become part of my routine. After getting a massage nearby, I almost always stop here because it's one of those places that just consistently hits the spot. My absolute favorites are the Pear Gorgonzola and the Chorizo pizza, both are so flavorful and unique in their own way. The Pear Gorgonzola has that perfect balance of sweet and savory, and the chorizo pizza always has such a good kick of flavor. What I also really appreciate is that they're always introducing new flavors and seasonal combinations, so there's usually something different to try while still keeping the "classics" I love. The atmosphere is chill, the staff has always been friendly, and the pizza is consistently good quality. Definitely one of my favorite pizza spots in Costa Mesa and a place I keep coming back to.

Excellent fun pizza squares that captured imaginative flavor combinations with a delicious crispy crust. Food/Drink- 5 stars The pizza was excellent and we enjoyed every bite. I appreciated that they plated it in the order that it was best enjoyed -Japanese- this was good, but probably my least favorite slice. The kewpie mayo overwhelmed the other flavors, but luckily kewpie mayo is always good -Calebrese- this was my favorite slice. So balanced and flavorful -Chorizo Pastor- this was the most fun slice. A bit on the spicier and heavier side -Pera E Gorgonzola- thoroughly enjoyed this as the recommended last (dessert) pizza slice Service- 5 stars Service was fast and helpful. It's out of their control, but their doorway is on top of the sewer line, so a bit of a stink when you walk in. Bottom Line Incredible and fun pizza. I'll definitely be coming back

Easily the best pizza in Orange County. This is more of a take-out than dine-in place, so sweatpants-it-up accordingly when getting your food. For my plant-based peeps, don't despair: there *is* a way to potentially veganize your order. My current obsession here is a fully veganized pie crowned with arugula, wild mushrooms, and roasted garlic -- a composition that feels both refined and indulgent. Sugo consistently executes thoughtful vegan adaptations (simply inquire), and the results justify the request every time. In Orange County, where truly elevated plant-based offerings can be elusive, discovering options that are not merely available but genuinely exceptional feels like a rare and welcome luxury.

The crust is nice and crispy without crossing into burnt territory and it has no flop. It's a solid base for their wide variety of creative toppings. Personally I think the pizza with the red sauce wins: Margherita: You really can't go wrong. The sauce has just the right amount of tanginess, which balances out perfectly with the cheese and fresh basil. Killer Bee: This one was a bit of a struggle. Between the heavy grease from the pepperoni and the hot honey, it gets messy. Also, if you aren't a Gorgonzola fan, this isn't the one for you. Japanese: Unfortunately, it was pretty dry. It's a cool concept, but it desperately needs unagi sauce and a much heavier drizzle of Kewpie mayo to bring it together. Pear: Much like the Japanese pizza, this one came out quite dry. I'd definitely come back, but the red sauce pizzas are the clear winners to me.

This one is located at Triangle Square, so parking is inside a shared structure. A rarity with parking structures is this one is free! It was easy to find parking and I walked around to the storefront with ease. This location is small; there is no seating, not even outside, and the hallway leading to the restroom was blocked off. You can order pizza to go and that's it. I ordered a slice of the Margherita, and decided to try their "not ranch". I usually only like ranch with pepperoni pizza sometimes but this was really just to taste the sauce. Service was friendly; I was immediately greeted by a friendly cashier and she offered to help with any questions I may have. I only waited maybe 5 min for my slice as she heated it up. Finally, it was pizza time. I ended up eating in my car, which I do much of the time anyway so no big deal. The sauce was garlicky and tasted reminiscent of ranch without truly being ranch. It's more of an aioli. Good, and would probably be nice with their pepperoni pizza. The pizza itself was underwhelming. It was warm and the crust was thin and crispy. The pizza sauce tasted a bit sweet and acidic, but wasnt the way I remember it. It was just OK. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, or maybe today was an off day. Who knows, but when there are so many pizza places everywhere, there is a ton of competition and this one didn't wow me. I may try again another time with a different slice to see if it wins my heart back.

She said all of the tables along that wall "get the draft," so I'm sure we weren't the first to complain. She said she was going to speak to the manager about turning down the fan, and that she'd be right back. She never returned. We were all super cold and uncomfortable and felt we had to rush through the almost $200 meal. The food was good as was the waitress/service but this was not the dining experience we hoped for when we booked dinner to celebrate a special occasion. It was unfortunate that the hostess never came back as promised and the air continued to blow (our hair was visibly moving throughout the meal as if there were a fan directly on us). I understand parts of the restaurant may naturally run differently, temperature wise, but you can't freeze out 3-4 tables of customers! It was just a bummer because we couldn't wait to leave because it was so damn cold. I wish the hostess would have come back or the manager had come over....considering this is a known issue and we were vocal about being very uncomfortable.

Build into the cost of your food. This place has gone downhill. Food was decent. That's the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one.
