I love love love this place and I've been to other locations. I've been here twice and it gets pretty busy at night. There's limited seating so be cautious if you're bringing in a large group of people. The service here is simple and quick. I would say it takes around 15ish minutes until your order is ready depending on how busy it is I've tried the: Black sesame Bingsoo (9/10): not as flavorful as I'd want it to be so it's personal preference. But the red bean was the perfect amount for the whole Bingsoo. It was delicious overall. Choux Cream Toast (10/10): the bread is so light& delightful. Not too sweet of a crème too and it's not too thick. Very light and fluffy. A good addition& palette cleanser while eating your Bingsoo Strawberry Citron Drink(10/10): my second time getting it and it's just the perfect light sweet drink. I think it would pair very well with a fruit bingsoo. Will come back here again to try all the flavors read more

I've been to this place a couple times already so I can safely say this is the best bing soo place I've ever been to! I always get the yogurt and berries bing soo and it's my favorite. You can really taste the yogurt flavor and the berries go so well with it. I also got the strawberries and cheesecake one and it was good but still not as good as the yogurt and berries. The best thing about this place is that they layer the fruits between all the shaved ice so you get a flavorful bite every single time. It's usually pretty busy at night but if you order take out they give you your order in a thermal bag with an ice pack which is really cool! The store doesn't have too much seating but it looks very cute. Definitely worth checking out if you're craving something sweet! read more

This is my first time trying this place after wanting to for a while. The shaved ice is super yummy. We got a fresh mango bingsu, and the fruit is indeed very fresh and soft. Also comes with condensed milk which can sweeten the ice after you finish the mango on top. Price is not bad for the portion. It cost $14. The workers are pretty friendly too. The inside is really cute and a great place for photos. I just wish there was more seating inside, since it gets crowded with lots of people waiting for a table. I want to come back and try all the flavors! read more

Service was quick for a weekday evening. Ambiance was lively and the crowd was a mix of families or college aged friends. The desserts are really good. The mango bingsoo and the matcha bingsoo were delicious. Finding a parking spot could be difficult to do at the plaza, but it isn't something Sul & Beans can control. Highly recommend Sul & Beans. read more

Good bingsoo! Want to come back and try some of the less sweet ones because it was very sweet. But enjoyed the fresh fruit and milkyness of it. Parking is super tough on weekends because there are a lot of other restaurants nearby. Pretty pricey also read more

Sul & Beans was my introduction to the Korean take on shaved ice and it became my favorite dessert for awhile. Unfortunately, this location did not hit the same and left my sweet tooth unsatisfied. After dinner, I decided on getting some bingsoo for dessert. Surprisingly the parking lot wasn't packed on a weekday night. The interior was aesthetically pleasing with the lush greenery and plant aesthetic. Most of the seating was already full, but they had some outdoor seating. I ordered a strawberry bingsoo togo and ate it in the car. The takeout packaging is thoughtful as you get a small ice pack with some kind of insulated bag. Not sure if it's reusable, but it seems like a waste if not. You get a quart sized deli container which is about 32 oz. The bingsoo comes layered with the powdery ice and flavor you choose. The dessert was definitely not sweet enough. Texture of the bingsoo is like very fine snow, but is unsweetened. The strawberries although plentiful, we're not sweet and mainly tart. The side of sweet milk/liquid they provide is not nearly enough so sweeten the entire portion. I'm sure you can ask for extra when dining in, but as a takeout order, you only get a smalllll portion cup. I struggled to finish since I was just eating tart fruit and unflavored ice. Probably wouldn't come again and will look for another place that serves bingsoo. The Taiwanese version of shaved ice is right across the parking lot and is more satisfying. It's not too sweet but just right for you to enjoy. If I were to come back, I'd ask for triple or quadruple the amount of sweetener. read more

Never had korean shaved before and I'm so glad I've finally got the chance to try it. I've heard about the long lines so I made sure to go during off hours. The first time I went, I got the strawberry and cheese cake bingsoo $14. I've heard 1 bowl was good to share with 2 people but I figured with my giant appetite I would've been able to finish 1 by myself. As it was smoking hot outside, my first bite took me to a strawberry winter wonderland. The shaved ice was so fine and the strawberries with the drizzled condensed milk was so refreshing. With each bite I took it was hard not to moan out loud. I was ashamed, not ashamed, that I actually finished the whole bowl by myself, it was that good. I will admit, it got harder at the end to finish since my "self-hate" negative body conscious started to guilt trip me. I love how every couple of layers that I went through, each had strawberries in it wasn't just for show on top. This bowl was perfectly flavored and the sweetness level just perfect. I only used a couple of spoons of condensed milk here and there towards the bottom of the bowl. The pieces of cheese cake was also sprinkled well throughout the entire bowl so I thought this bowl was well made and worth the price. I went a second time and got the injoelmi bingsoo but I didn't like it as much. Seems expensive for ice and some sprinklings of powdered soybean dustings. To me it wasn't as sweet so I went through a container of the extra condensed milk. They also have these slices of crunchy things and a couple of mochi squares. Next time I'll pass on this and maybe try the matcha or taro. read more

I absolutely love bingsu from Sul&Bean! I love to take my family since its such a sharable dessert. Not pictured, but my favorite flavor to get is the berry yogurt. We got a watermelon one for a friend's birthday and it was refreshing, not too sweet, and great on a hot day. You'll have to fight for seating if you go on a busy day or weekend but service is fast and you get a beeper to wait for your order. They also have free water by the door while you wait. The ambiance is chill and the store has great lighting if you'd like to do some work or study. Hope to try their other flavors and drinks next time! read more

Creamy goodness, velvety and fresh shaved ice. I tried their strawberry and it was amazing. Fresh cuts of strawberries that complemented the shaved ice really well. I have been wanting to try Sul & Beans for a while now since it opened and I finally got the chance to visit! The customer service was great and they sanitize their dining tables in between each use. I asked the cashier about a drink and I loved that they explained the components of the drink in extreme detail to me. It really shows how well they know their products and makes the customer very comfortable with ordering. It was my very first time trying bingsoo and it was great! I probably would not crave it or go out of my way to have it just because it's on the pricier side, but the price does align with their large portions which is a plus. Overall, I was glad that I tried it to experience its taste for the first time and I highly recommend trying their products! read more

I had the Fresh Mango Bingsoo which was very flavorful and looked great! The mango was a bit sour but there was a mango syrup that did a nice job of balancing the flavor out. The shaved ice itself was good with no ice chunks and not bad at all. Overall it was good and I'd recommend trying the bingsoo here if you're craving it and in the area. I wanted the Fresh Watermelon Bingsoo which looks amazing in the photos, but it's seasonal and starts in May, so I'll have to come back and try it another time. I really like the plant wall that they have at this location it really adds to the decor!! I went on a Wednesday at 10pm and it was packed with limited indoor seating but lots of outdoor seating. I'd recommend going when it's less crowded if you can. This Sul and Beans is located in the Diamond Jamboree plaza which is great if you want to have dinner or get groceries after. read more

Mango Bingso. Place can get crowded on the weekend nights. There are additional parking in the parking structure if parking in front of the storefront is full. Sul & Beans offer different types of bingso, but opted for the mango bingso. Mangos were sweet. The condense milk provided flavor to the bingso. I think its too much for one person so you could definitely share one bingso with 2-3 people. A great hangout place and great vibes with friends. read more

I saw a picture of bing su on IG and I knew I had to have it. I had been to this plaza before, but never realized there was a place that served it ! We came at 9 PM and it was PACKED !! A good sign ! The interior is so cute, and they have excellent staff and service. We barely waited, and they are very polite. At first bite I fell in love. How did I never have this dessert before ? I already want to go back and try them all !! I love how light it is, and the strawberries are so fresh. I also like the consistency of the ice, it's so soft and has an amazing snow-like texture. There were also pieces of mochi which made the whole combo even better. I was a bit weary of the strawberry sauce on top because usually I find it to have a super artificial flavoring, but this was amazing. FOOD: This was the first bingsoo place I had ever tried, and it will probably be the last because it has set the standard high. - I've gotten the chance to get a few different flavors here, and my absolute favorite is Green Tea ($12.50). The mochi on top is so chewy, and I love red bean, so the additional flavor and texture that it brings blends everything cohesively. Not to also mention that there is a very generous portion of the red bean too! - Both the Strawberry Cheese ($13) and Fresh Mango ($13) are close seconds. There is copious amounts of soft cheesecake bits and strawberries. Fresh Mango lives up to its name as its piled high with sweet mango chunks, making it reminiscent of summer. - Although simple, the Injeolmi ($10.50) has a unique nutty flavor that I enjoyed as well. My friend described it as an acquired taste, and I highly recommend trying it out too. The only flavor I didn't really like was the Oreo ($12.50). There just wasn't anything special about it, and the cookies get soggy quickly on the ice. - The condensed milk provided with each order is a runnier consistency than normal condensed milk, so it adds flavor but not that overpoweringly pungent sweetness you would expect. You also won't run out of toppings as you finish it because it's layered well, so every bite has a spoonful. SERVICE/AMBIANCE: There isn't very much seating available inside and gets very packed during eating hours. It's honestly not ideal for large parties, and there's only a few small tables outside. The staff are friendly, but during busy times, it gets a little hectic. This location is on the newer side, so it has remained pretty clean. In the past, we have gotten it togo and eaten right away on the tables around the DJ plaza. Parking in this plaza has always been a nightmare during peak hours since there's so many delicious restaurants here. OVERALL: Bingsoo is refreshing and doesn't feel too heavy or sweet after a meal. There's a variety of flavors available, and I would say it's fairly priced for the quantity given. A yummy dessert to share with your friends and family, I'll be back soon! read more

This is my second time coming and the difference between the two are drastic in terms of the line. At 9:15pm on a Saturday there was a 5min wait which was surprising while last time (unknown time) was out the door. The eat-in area was beautiful and had a good amount of seating for its use of space. The mango bingsoo was just as delicious as the strawberry from the time before! It was light and fluffy with a hint of sweetness from the sweetened condensed milk and fruit. Even though it's a chilled dessert it was so worth coming in the cold, pouring rain. We came here to introduce an out-of-state friend to new foods and this did not disappoint! Summary: naturally-sweet dessert and great for newcomers and repeat visitors! We arrived at 9pm just in time to snag a table! It was pretty packed considering that it was a Monday but I guess people really wanted dessert. We had to clean our table but it was no biggie since the staff were working very hard on the orders. Didn't wait too long before our desserts came out but they only provided one container for condensed milk when we had ordered two items. However, when we asked for refills they gladly gave us some! The dessert itself was delicious and definitely recommend for a special occasion. I preferred the mango as it was a bit sweeter than the strawberries. read more

You know, every single time I find myself in this DJ plaza, trying my hardest to not stress over the lack of parking and random pedestrians, I am drawn to all things Sul & Beans. The system is kinda weird, there's a line for ordering to go and then a line to dine in. I haven't seen that at other Sul & Beans but it really helps with the chaos of having everyone there. We've tried the mango bowl and it is loaded with fresh mango and condensed milk and then extra condensed milk. It's so trendy here and always popular. I've come on a Wednesday afternoon at like 5 and it was still crowded. So, just be prepared to wait for a parking spot and for a bingsoo spot. read more

This dessert spot is located in Diamond Jamboree. They have 4-5 tables inside and a few table outside. The menu has mainly desserts and also coffee. I ordered the green tea bingsoo and the berry yogurt bingsoo. Each bingsoo comes with condensed milk and you can ask for free refills. The green tea bingsoo came with red bean, mochi, dried jujubes, and almonds. It was super refreshing and one of my favorite bingsoo that I have tried. The berry yogurt bingsoo tasted more like a plain frozen yogurt flavor. It came with different berries and it was more on the sour side. I would definitely come back to try other bingsoo flavors. read more

Cute spot! Their bingsoo options all taste pretty good, my favorite is the Earl Grey flavor. Crowd favorites are typically the Mango or Strawberry, I've gone a few times where they're sold out of it! This location does have pretty limited seating, just a heads up! During off-hours, it's pretty easy to have a seat, but during peak hours there's a chance you'll be standing and eyeing tables to see who will be leaving next. I like coming here once in a while to catch-up with friends or when we're looking for a dessert spot nearby! Would recommend giving this place a visit! read more

This is a new dessert place that opened up in the Diamond Jamboree plaza within the last year and we finally got around to trying it out. The wait is fairly long, but many people look for a nice tasty dessert after having dinner in one of the restaurants nearby. There seems to be a solid system in terms of finding seating as there is a waitlist if you plan on dining in (with someone attending it and making sure the line is moving at all times) and an option for takeout which lets you just skip right past the line. We ordered the fresh strawberry bingsoo and it came fairly quickly within the time of us being seated at a table. It is definitely a shareable treat for several people, but the two of us managed to finish it. The strawberries were very fresh and tasty and the shaved ice itself was great. Wasn't really a big fan of the mochi, so we just pushed those to the side. Overall, it was a really nice experience and it will be a very popular dessert place for the foreseeable future. read more

Absolutely delicious, and HUGE! You can split with someone for this and still get a large portion! The presentation is very lovely and tasty; I ordered the strawberry cheesecake one and paired with the condensed milk, it melted in my mouth. Been here too many times and always loved !! Absolutely my favorite desert in Irvine ;) The place could get crowded and hard to find seat only after 8 pm on weekends. So I recommend getting there before that!! The shaved ice always so tasty and the sweetness is perfect. They use fresh mangos. My personal favorite is the yogurt !! Should try!! read more

Sul and Beans might be the best dessert spot in town. When I'm craving a relatively light, but sweet little something, I think of the earl grey bingsoo. It's a good choice for anyone who loves milk tea. As a side note, I remember having to make the trek all the way in ktown for it a few years ago -- the fact that it's readily available in different parts of Orange County now is amazing! read more

Came on a Thursday night and it was packed!! Shaved ice was good- toppings & fruit were fresh, but I would skip the Korean taiyaki and have the Japanese version in the same plaza next time. The chocolate chips on the watermelon shaved ice looked good, but tasted funky mixed in. Eat those separately! read more

Been waiting for a bingsoo place to open on the area! I've been to the Rowland Heights location a few times but I'm glad they opened a location here. The line was long (about 20 minutes) on a Sunday afternoon. I wish they had a Yelp waitlist instead of the physical paper one. You have to wait in the sun with no chairs to hear your name be called. Hopefully they set up a digital waitlist so they can text you when it's ready. Judging from how it is in Rowland, my guess is that lines will be much shorter when the hype starts to die down a little. First time trying the Earl Grey and I 100% recommend it! One of the best flavors I've tried. Next time, I'd love to try the toast, Heard great things about it. read more

Sul & Beans originally from LA, but they finally opened one in Diamond Jamboree plaza in Irvine. They specialize in Bingsoo, a Korean shaved ice dessert. There was a line for take out order and one to write your name down to be seated indoors/outdoors. The manager was very organized and he made sure each party was able to be seated within less than 30min. We ordered the Earl gray Bingsoo, Injeolmi Bingsoo, and custard flavor Boong-Uh-Bbang. The earl gray Bingsoo was on the sweeter side, which we got over it. The Injeolmi Bingsoo was my favorite. Injeolmi is a Korean rice cake dish. The flavor can be best described as nutty, almost sesame or peanut like. Highly recommend this! The Boong-uh-bbang is a fish shaped liked pastry and it was filled with custard. The pastry itself was thinly battered with a light crunch and the custard was good. Overall, the portion size at Sul & Beans in Irvine is smaller compared to the one in LA, but the quality is comparable. Definitely a must try! read more

One word. WOW! This place is amazing ! We walked in on a Saturday around 6pm, it was not too busy and enough seating. Parking was a small hassle but that's expected from this plaza. I got the Taro Bingsoo and my friend got the Strawberry cheesecake Bingsoo. I loveeed the Taro one, super light and airy. Very flavorful and I love red bean so it was delicious!! Been craving bingsoo so badly, most of the old school Korean bakeries are no longer in business or make bingsoo. So sad. I came across this biz online and realized it's in the busy diamond jamboree plaza. I decided to come by last night. Y'all, how come the signage for the business is so SMALL!! I left my phone in my car thinking I could find it and walked and looked up and down from Tokyo table to 7 leaves then scanned the other side from kickin crab to the Mediterranean spot. Ok, so it's on the far end corner next to the Mediterranean restaurant. As you walk closer, yah you can read the name of the business. Phew. Busy space. Busy people working inside. No hellos upon entering. That's fine. I was acknowledged. Ordered 2 shikhae (very pleased with the presentation quality of the slurry ice) and 1 Oreo and 1 mango bingsoo. I added red beans to 1. This place is very trendy. They don't all come with red beans, it's an extra charge of $1.50 for a 4 oz container. I placed them in my deep freezer as my bf ends work at 11 pm , and 2- hours later, the texture was still wonderful. Very satisfying. The sesame balls still have good flavor inside, but the filling no longer melts the way it once did. The mochi is noticeably firmer and the taro starts off fine before quickly becoming hard and chewy. The bigger disappointment was the service. Even though the store was mostly empty, the staff acted like helping customers was an inconvenience. We were friendly, said thank you, had our kids saying thank you and it was met with blank stares and indifference. It's hard to support a business when it feels like they don't want you there. The restaurant also feels neglected. The restroom still isn't pleasant, dirty trays sat around for far too long and the whole place lacked the energy that made it special years ago. I genuinely wanted this place to succeed because it introduced a lot of people to desserts I grew up with. But nostalgia can only carry a restaurant so far. I was really disappointed with my visit here. We ordered the pomegranate mint drink, iced Americano, and injeolmi bingsu, and honestly, everything was underwhelming. The injeolmi bingsu had barely any injeolmi powder sprinkled on top, and the milk tasted bland -- it was something I wouldn't eat again even if it were free. I usually enjoy iced Americanos and order them often, but I didn't know it could taste this bad. It had an overwhelming burnt flavor, and the ice was almost completely melted, so it wasn't even refreshing. I expected it to be cold, but it was just... not. The pomegranate mint drink wasn't much better. It also came with barely any ice. We even asked for more ice, but they only added a couple of pieces, which felt kind of ridiculous. I understand times are tough for everyone, but being stingy with something as simple as injeolmi powder or ice just makes the experience frustrating. The Bingsoo (shaved ice) is super refreshing and generously portioned -- each bowl can easily serve 2 to 3 people. We tried the green tea, mango, and fresh strawberry flavors, and each one was delicious. We also ordered boong uh bbang (fish-shaped pastries) in a variety of flavors -- all worth trying! I came here with family post dinner and DJ was bustlin' we opted for 3 bowls to share with 6 people.. which I thought was a bit much. The options we selected was coffee, matcha and mango. Personally, I thought the mango was the best out of them all. If I had known everyone would want a bite out of the mango, I would have chosen 2 fruity options instead of the matcha. Just thought the matcha was ok. I'm not a big coffee drinker so I didn't like the coffee one- but it tasted similar to mocha latte. I'd definitely come back for the mango! read more

I recently visited Sul and Beans and had a wonderful time. The bingsu was delicious and beautifully presented, with fresh ingredients that made each bite enjoyable. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing dessert outing. The only minor downside was that the flavor wasn't as strong on one of the orders I got compared to other places I've been too. I have always had a craving for bingsu, one of my all time favorite Korean desserts. We stumbled upon this place when we were near Hmart and thought why not give it a try. We ordered the strawberry cheese bingsu, oreo bingsu, and the green grape bingsu. I would rate from 1-10 as 1 is the worse and 10 is the best, strawberry cheese is a 10/10, oreo is a 6/10 and the grape is a 8/10. If I ever go back here, I would try their other flavors. read more

I received something completely different from what was advertised. It's unethical to sell a lower quality product when you've promoted something else. This is the second time my order has been messed up, and I can't help but feel that influencers might be getting better treatment or products than regular customers like myself. Strawberry Bingsu was one of the best desserts i've ever had. I had a lot of fresh strawberries and it was the perfect size for 2 people. The shop is pretty small and when i went there it was a bit crowded with not many open seats. I would definitely recommend Sul & Beans for a nice night out . read more
