It was nice to see a local small restaurant so busy on a Tuesday evening. You could see what appeared to be a grandma in the back cooking and pushing out beautiful plates of delicious food. We had heard about this eatery and could finally visit last week to start our spring break. We ordered appetizers and platters based on recommendations from friends. Food is delicious and service is good. The kebabs, pies and dips are scrumptious and delectable, perfectly spiced and cooked. Bread serving is generous and freshly baked. They checked on us several times and took care of our party of 8. The ambiance of the restaurant was uplifting and open. It's a spacious room with well spaced table setting. My only recommendation would be to remove bottled water and provide safe drinking water. The appearance of plastic bottles in such a beautiful place marred the dining experience. Plus you have to ask for glasses and ice. Also providing more than one serving spoon for the platters is a good option. On a whim we stopped here for lunch, and we were met with excellent customer service, and a delicious meal. Would recommend! Utterly expensive ! Food was pretty decent but on the bland side . They dont serve tab water or free water . You will have to buy a bottle of water. Service was adequate . No issues there. I think they add gratuity to bill. was the visit worth it ? Nope ! Way too expensive . Honestly lamb is not that expensive at all . Greed is a big part of it. And Sir there are many Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurants (plus others) that are surviving and thriving and don't charge $30 for a plate. So get over it. The hummus was silky and fantastic, the cabbage salad was crisp, slightly tart and delicious, the salmon was cooked perfectly, and the baklava for dessert was buttery and crunchy and OMG good! While I was waiting to pick up the food the chef gave me a bowl of lentil soup to taste - it was the best lentil soup I've ever had. It had the right texture and beautiful blend of spices, and just a little heat on the back end. They were so friendly and kind. Wish I lived here so I could eat here often! read more

We had the spicy chicken entrée, (wasn't really spicy, just flavorful) which was the highlight for me tender, great taste. We also had the lamb ribs because we wanted to take bones back to the dog. Stumbled upon a new spot and it was a pure delight. We were craving Mediterranean style food today and I used Google to find a restaurant close to where we were and found Sultan. This place offers traditional Mediterranean dishes and some Iraqi dishes too I believe. There were a few I was not familiar with. Super cute vibe with a beautifully done interior decor. I loved all the small touches even to the menu. Our waiter was super kind and helpful. We went with the combo for 2 with an additional Taziki appetizer and then 3 desserts and a kids cheese pizza for my one picky eater of a kid! And I also ordered a Turkish cafe for myself. The cheese pizza was a hit with my kid; nice size easily shared between 1-3 kids depending on their appetite. The Turkish Cafe I really enjoyed; I love the strong flavors.... Turkish cafe and Ethiopian coffee are one of my favorites! The cabbage salad was not what I expected when eating it. I really liked it; but be aware the pomegranate dressing is very tart and sweet. My husband was not a fan; but I loved the taste of this one. The avocado hummus was honestly my least favorite thing I ate; it was a tad too bland..... I added some salt and it was tasty. The Taziki!!!! Hands down the best one I've had; I'm normally not a fan; my husband could drink it if you'd let him; but theirs is really flavorful! Definitely recommend. The bread... delicious but what bread isn't? The combo for 2 was more than plenty of food for us. It came with two rices, a spicy chicken, a chicken breast, kebab and then these ground chicken and veggies patties, and falafels; along with grilled tomatoes and peppers. Everything on that plate was fantastic and flavorful and cooked to perfection. The spicy chicken was my absolute favorite! I didn't have one thing that wasn't good. Everything came out in a timely manner; portion size to price are great and presentation was beautiful. We ordered the desserts Togo so I haven't yet tried those but I'm sure they are just as good. We got the baklava, the rice pudding and the cheese dessert. Super happy to find an ethnic restaurant close by that's really delicious. Now if I can get one opened in Melissa! I tried Sultan's for the first time tonight. The service was fantastic and very welcoming. We ordered the hummus and mushroom soup. Wow! Amazing. For our entrees we had the lamb kabob and the Iraqi Quzi... both dishes were mouth watering and full of flavor. Then the dessert presentation came out and we chose the baklava cheesecake. I can't say enough about this dessert! It should win an award! Aside from the amazing service and food, the ambiance was nice and relaxing with beautiful jazz music playing low in the background. Came here on a Saturday two weeks after they opened. Clearly they're not ready. No menu's printed waited several minutes to get greeted to be sat down and the table cloth was pretty dirty. I ended up ordering my food and taking it out. I tried doing so on their online ordering and that wasn't working. Food took 35 mins to get. Ordered a chicken sandwich in the sandwich part of the online menu since they didn't have it printed and it ended up being an entree. Not what I wanted but we were all starving at that point and I already took the food home. I would say the food is good but could be better. My beef sandwich was good but would wait a couple more weeks before going back. Their restaurant needs help and hopefully in time it will get better. read more

This is a nice new Mediterranian restaurant. It looks nice inside, the waiter and manger stopped to see if everything was good. So that was nice. The appetizer (mixed dips - humus, etc.) was good, although the waiter upsold it. My entree was good, my wife's was dull and unseasoned. As for price - they add an automatic 15% gratuity, and then have a line for "additional gratuity". The whole meal was over $100. read more

The server surprised me being proud realizing my adolescent son was learning to order for a table properly. I cannot explain how many American grease holes, even at Shops of Legacy, ignore him though he is the foodie. These things matter. Our service was still perfect. I love they offer Esme! I think Amba also. The Shish tawook was a huge portion. Very well cooked & tender. The buttery rice was good & no food coloring fake saffron to worry with. We ordered Samawar tea & I actually had Nabat in my purse lol. So it was perfect little istikan. Nice and strong but not bitter which means it was cooked at the proper temperature. His beef kebabs were good. I don't know the name of the table bread but will ask next time. We even spoke to the guys about tahdiq lol. Wish the community here would buy it. I'm thankful & proud we have this place. I hope they do well & the residents here stop having regional expectations that don't belong. They need to learn & appreciate Kurd culture when coming here. W-O-W!!!! Absolutely love this restaurant. Was our first visit, and all 3 of us were blown away. I loved the Iraqi Quizi I ordered, as the flavor of the lamb shank simmering in the bread was amazing! My wife ordered the spicy chicken, which I tried as well, and was really blown away by the flavor and tenderness of the chicken. My son tried the Makluba (upside down rice topped with beef), and I also stole a bite if his dish, and again was impressed with the incredible flavor! So, for my next visit, and the one after, I already know what to order: Makluba, then Spicy Chicken. Then I'll rip through the rest of the menu. Place looked good upon entering. Asked to be seated at booth. Was told it was for groups of eight and denied. Later say groups of 3-4 being seated at booth. Dips are great and I got the spicy chicken which may be the best cooked chicken I've had in a while.
