I have been here a few times for lunch and Sultan's deliver is fresh, quality and a range of Mediterranean options. I came with a group and we got a variety of plate plates and salad salads, and everyone enjoyed their meal. You order at the front and they'll bring your food to your table so it is a casual dining option but healthier. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is ample seating as well as outdoor patio, which is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is a good lunch stop!

The food is decent. I don't understand the long queues, probably not worth visiting during busy hours so try to come when there's no line cos they do die eventually. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As others have mentioned, management could do a lot better with cleanliness.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also try not to get too loud as the staff will ask you to quiet down, so probably not a good place for reunions, more of a quick casual quiet dining experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've been to this location a few times in recent months, and I think they are decent Mediterranean food, so long as you order the right dish. I really like their Chicken Adana plate, which comes with a pretty massive serving of kebab, sides of grilled veggies, salad, rice, and hummus (I like to sub baba ghanoush). It's a great meal for ~$20 after tax, and I think overall good value. The meat is fresh, juicy, well-seasoned, and always served at just the right temperature. I have also tried their shawarma salad, which I don't like as much. I find their shawarma meat to be pretty bland and not all that tasty, especially the lamb. I think if you stick to the kebabs and whole meat dishes, you can't go wrong.

I always make it a point to stop by either this location or the Danville location whenever I'm up in this area. Both are very consistent with the quality of their food. After ordering you're given a number to place on your table. The ice water is self-serve. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything was clean and well-organized, from the large main dining room to the outdoor seating area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They do have large long tables for big parties but those need to be reserved.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can't go wrong with any item here. My usual is their chicken shish (kebab) plate or chicken shawarma plate with all rice, no salad. There is a $2 up charge for the no salad option though. The chicken is so flavorful and moist as is their rice. It's the best! While I'm giving five stars because the quality is there, my one piece of feedback would be regarding the service. The employees are very matter-of-fact and efficient, but they lack a bit of warmth

At this point we've been here so often! The food is always consistently amazing with more than you can eat on each plate honestly and always lots of seats. Service is pretty fast and the ambiance is quite nice. I think the Livermore location has a nicer outdoor seating area, though but this place has better parking.

This was only my second time dining at Sultan's Kebab, both times with our group of friends celebrating birthdays. They have a big selection of food, including vegetarian options. We were a party of 10 and as usual, dine like a family so we could try a variety of dishes. The hummus and falafel were decent, but the flatbread pide was a bit bland. On the brighter side, the meats were tender and well-seasoned. My friends especially loved the braised lamb shank which was served last. It was not my favorite because of the lamb aftertaste, but they really enjoyed it. The staff were helpful and attentive throughout our meal, which made the dining experience even better. Overall, it's a good spot for gathering with friends, sharing food, and exploring different flavors.

It was my first time trying Mediterranean food, believe it or not, and I loved it so much. I got the #1 on the menu--Lamb shish kebab-- and it was delicious. Rice was cooked to perfection as it was very soft. The lamb was chewy and it's evident that it was seasoned well. Hummus was also so good! Service was quick for a party of 8. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself was very spacious and had very nice decorations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would love to try other dishes if I am ever in this area again.

Sultan's Kebab always hits the spot!!! I think this is the original location out of the 2 or 3. I always order the combo shish kebab plate with beef and chicken. It comes with salad, rice and pita. It's super filling and the price is reasonable. The flavors are off the chart and they are always so consistent. The service was wonderful and the restaurant is clean inside. If you're ever in the area, give Sultan's a try!

While visiting the Bay Area I heard nothing but rave reviews about this place. I knew I had to give it a shot. We ordered the chicken shish kabob, chicken shawarma, and kofta plate. All items were recommended by the cashier. Everything was good. Not extraordinary and not terrible.... Just good. Of all three the kofta plate was the most flavorful. The chicken shawarma was my least favorite, as it tasted nothing like authentic shawarma. Each plate was roughly $20 which was reasonable considering the amount of meat per plate. The place is casual and self serve style, you order and pay at the counter and seat yourself. There is plenty of parking out front and in the back of the restaurant. While I was too stuffed to try their desserts there was also a counter filled with cakes, baklava, and more.

I remember when the Pleasanton location only took up half the building, so watching it grow into what it is now has honestly been really cool. They've expanded a lot since then and opened multiple locations, and it makes sense because the food has always been consistent. They have a dessert shop inside and their tea is actually really good, which makes it a place you want to sit and enjoy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food itself never disappoints. The lamb gyro is my favorite, and the combo of rice, salad, and white sauce always hits. You honestly can't mess up your order here. The prices have gone up compared to years ago, but that's expected. The portions are still solid, so it feels fair for what you're getting. It's one of those places that stays reliable no matter how much it grows

This place is AMAZING. If you're hankering for some awesome and high quality Greek food, this is it. I've never had meat as tender and juicy as this place makes it. I was excited to find a place w/real shawarma - but after 3 different visits I'm not inclined to go back. The lamb was OK but had some grissle: the chicken was dry and disappointing. Babaganoush was runny The Kofte was good, but overcooked and a little too crispy The Adana was good, but not something I absolutely would come back for. In looking over the reviews it could be that the quality comes and goes based on how busy you are and how often the meats turn over. If that's so, it's also very sad. The restaurant business is hard and consistently good food is needed to keep people coming back. Sorry, I won't be one of them. read more

It must be me! Going to good places to eat I guess, Decided to go and check the place out the place was almost empty just a couple of people were eating at this place so it took me and my kids 5minutes to decide what to get. As usual we all ordered the different kebobs. 15 minutes later our order was ready and served to us, very good quality meat , overall very tender and tasty just the right amount of spice and flavor, friendly service will Definitely go back for sure and I would recommend this place very highly . read more

I come here at least a couple times a month, since I work nearby. The food is excellent - I usually go for the combo shawarma plate. Everything is good here, and the portions are big, even for a glutton like me. Service is occasionally spotty - they've messed up my order a few times - but not bad. Definitely one of my favorite staples in Pleasanton! Edit - Been going here regularly - it's the bomb. Updating rating to five. read more

Picked up dinner from here the other night. It was so delicious! I ordered the lamb shish plate for myself and the combo shish plate with chicken and lamb for my partner. Both the lamb and the chicken were very tasty. Oh! Also ordered the walnut baklava. Which was sinfully delicious but I'd like to see a bit more of the walnut mixture incorporated in the bottom layers. That just comes down to personal preference though. So glad I decided on trying this place out! We'll definitely be returning. read more

Great place, fresh and healthy food, very nice staff. The owner, Sultan, has put his heart and soul into this restaurant when he purchased it several years ago and he has been rewarded with loyal customers. Cost is about $15 for a good portioned plate of traditional Mediterranean meal and a drink. You order at the register and find an open table where they will bring your food to you. Indoor and outdoor seating is available and they also cater. They even serve organic lemonade, tea, and Turkey coffee. Baklava is the typical dessert choice, sometimes they mix it up. The only downfall from a customer's prospective is that the line can get very long and it can easily take up to 30 minutes (sometimes longer) from the time you get in line to the time you get your meal. So this is not made to be a quick place to stop and go. They do have an online menu and you can call ahead and place your order to save some time. But if you have the time then it is worth a the wait. read more

I LOVE this place- I consistently order it for our lunch meetings at work and personally at home. My 1 year old loves the combo shawarma plate and is always following me around like a puppy trying to steal my food! The seafood platter is so yummy, the rice is always perfectly cooked, the pita is nice and chewy, the hummus is on point and the SALMON.. omg! heavenly! The combo shawarma is great too, really great flavor, nice crispiness and LOTS of meat. Don't BOTHER!!! This place has gone downhill big time. Their customers services is not that great either. A few years back their falafels were the only thing good to order but not anymore. I never really was a fan of their shawarma either. They don't seem to know how to cook it right; It was always very dry and chewy, even their kabobs were too. The shawarma wraps are usually filled with lettuce, not enough meat or flavor. If you are looking for real authentic shawarma, especially lamb, I suggest checking out Truly Mediterranean in SF; I've been a fan for years! They have never failed me with their wraps and their filings are so tasty and delicious. Once you go there, you'll never go back to another shawarma restaurant that you thought was great! read more

I feel bad for writing a bad review but I got really sick the night of, after eating my lunch order. I got the salad combo and the beef kabobs. So yummy! Plenty of seating and pretty timely service. Food was delicious - meat was moist and juicy and cooked perfectly. We had the falafel, chicken shish, lamb shish and adana plate, with some hummus (needed some olive oil but that was remedied) and dolma and baklava. My husband and I love Middle Eastern food. Ever since we traveled to Iraq we have been craving its delightful cuisine. I order the chicken kebab. My husband had the chicken with the rice, the pita bread, and hummus. The meat was juicy and well seasoned. The rice was cooked to perfection nice and soft. The pita bread was fluffy and thick just how I like it. The hummus was my favorite. It was probably the best hummus I have ever tasted. To top it all off the sultan's arrived quickly and effectively. I searched for Turkish restaurants in Pleasanton and Sultan's Kebab was one of the first ones that came up. The food was really good, especially the künefe. It was nice to see that apart from the tasty food, I had the chance to speak Turkish with staff. My mom had the beef kebabs and she said they were perfectly seasoned and great portions. She loved the way the salad was arranged. The hummus was delicious, very creamy and not too salty. Yemek çok lezzetliydi. Çok teşekkür ederim. read more

We love this place. Only decent place in the area for Turkish. But lately coming for lunch they are sooo slow. I mean insanely slow. I am here at 235 pm on a weekday. I'm literally the only human being in the restaurant. And it took them 15 minutes to get my food. I've waited over 30 minutes before on not that busy lunch days. Love the food. Wish the service would speed up a bit. read more

At Sultan's Kebab we use only the finest ingredients and halal meats, all in an effort to bring the classic taste of the Mediterranean Turkish Cuisine to your table. Established in 2010.

Originally opened by my father Sultan (our namesake), he was able to create a casual family dining experience that catered to simple Turkish cuisine. Fast forward to today I have grown the business to three Bay Area locations that share the idea of creating a welcoming casual dining experience for the whole family.

Born in 1986 this self taught entrepreneur always had a drive to create an exciting business. He has achieved this with the experience he gained from his childhood in Istanbul.

However, when we got the bill, we got charged $35 per each bottle. I brought it up with the waiter and he denied ever saying that, despite the whole table hearing his explicit confirmation that it would be a $35 charge for both. * this is where the experience became negatively memorable - when they brought out the dessert and a birthday celebration, which was a baklava, they did a really tacky thing of taking one of the pieces of the baklava for the table and putting it on a separate plate with a candle on top of it as the birthday treat. It wasn't just the food they say, but the remarkable wine list, which turned the place into a see-and-be-seen spot akin to NYC's Elaine's (RIP). If this isn't quite how you imagine anyplace along SF's Clement Street, think again. Years later it's still packed (on a Friday night) and loud. Service was the sole miscue on my visit with 3 others. We were given menus and water but ignored after that, to a point where we reached out to get some wine and attention. As you can see from the 5-star assessment, no harm-no foul; once wine and food flowed all was forgiven. The menu required some explanation. It's not broken down in any discernible way, requiring the server to explain that all dishes ae meant to be shared and that the first several dishes are dips, then small plates, then larger. In truth, all seemed like small plates to me (or small servings) but if your wallet permits, you'll not be disappointed. There wasn't one thing we shared that we didn't 100% consume nor anything I'd not recommend. Since we sampled almost the entire menu I feel comfortable saying that everything is delicious and attractively presented. We left the alcohol order to the one at our table who'd chosen Kitchen Istanbul and she summoned the sommelier and gave him free reign. He asked what we like (hearty reds) and what we wished to spend (about $75/bottle) and we enjoyed 2 completely unique offerings that we'd not have known to choose for ourselves. He was also tasked with pairing two of the dessert wines with two of the chosen desserts and they were as enjoyable as the wines served with dinner. It's fair to say that the sommelier had fun with our table, stopping by before we left to say how much he'd appreciated the opportunity to choose for us and for us placing our trust in him. Like the rest of the City I was following Sam Smith's food journey during his time here. He never made it to Kitchen Istanbul but if he had, I think he'd have nodded in agreement with the 5-star rating.

I had a terrible experience there. It was last Saturday, we were a party of three and ordered 3 falafel wraps. We were starving and waited for almost 30 min. We asked the people working there many times why the order was so late. Finally, a guy appeared and kept saying it was not his fault,and he put a dish with 3 falafel balls in front of us. We asked him to return this dish back because this was not our order. Finally after a long complain, another guy offered us rudely to take our money back or to wait for at least 15 min. Of course we left and will never return back and I don't recommend it for anyone. read more

This place screams bland. Everything needed salt. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate and it needed salt, we ordered a ground lamb kebab plate and it was extremely dry and needed salt. We ordered some other dishes and they needed salt. The hummus was horrible. It needs lemon and guess what? SALT! They brought us burnt bread and the whole experience was pretty underwhelming. I will not be coming back and I don't recommend this place. Lastly, the bathroom was broken so they told me to go to round table pizza and use their bathroom. read more

My son and I went in for lunch, it was recommended by one of his teachers. First it's not cheap, on the contrary its expensive for what and the amount you get. We both ordered the Chicken Shawarma plate and it's like, is this an appetizer? The taste, ahh not all that great. We both agreed, we wasted our time. We both also ordered lemonade and it showed up in an extremely small cup and no refills. What was troubling beyond the food, quality and taste was our dishes were delivered by this small kid, what's that all about? Pass.. read more

I recently tried the Baklava with ice cream from Sultan's Kebab, and it was amazing. The baklava was crispy and sweet, and the ice cream was creamy and smooth. Together, they created a fantastic combination of flavors. The presentation was beautiful, with sprinkled pistachios on top. If you love Turkish desserts or just want to treat yourself to something delicious, I highly recommend trying Sultan's Kebab's Baklava with ice cream. You won't be disappointed! read more

Sultan's Kebab is REALLY REALLY good food! So why the 4 stars instead of 5 stars? Well, I started going to eat here about 4 years ago and portions and taste used to be better - yes! better than it is now even though it's still better than most places. I think they had new management put in place or something but the taste is a little off. It's still delicious but not as good as it was before. Portions are smaller too. I get the chicken/lamb shwarma combo. read more

So I waited like 10 min for someone to take my to go order as staff walked back and forth without even an acknowledgement. Ordered the lamb wrap and lamb kabobs were undercooked!! And the filling was so minimal and skimpy I had to unwrap the pita like 3x til I got to the meat!! No joke. Def not even worth $6.99 far as I'm concerned. I was disappointed cause it seemed fairly busy from the outside so thought I'd try it out. Not gonna come back :( read more

Use to love this place, portions were big, food was hot and fresh. I don't know what's changed? Now it's always hot or miss, the size of the falafels have gotten smaller and some times they seem dry on the inside. Use to love the chicken shawarma but the meat is not as juicy as before. I still come here but with some hesitation because I'm no longer confident that the food will be great like before...but sometimes I just want to have falafel read more

So Good! Lunch time is always busy! My favorite is the wraps. Oh yeah, the garlic feta fries are pretty amazing too. The service is good. The people are nice. They also have outdoor seating that is really nice on the warm summer days. I'd definitely recommend this place to friends and coworkers. If you're in a hurry, the call ahead/to-go option is also nice. read more

I had such a great experience at Sultan's Kebab! The food was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. Everything tasted so nice, and I could tell it was made with quality ingredients. Love love love this restaurant!! I come here about 2-3 times a week because it's friendly towards my current diet :). The food is good but my god the baklava tastes just like the ones I eat in Istanbul!! Definitely recommend this restaurant (plus it's halal). Also special shoutout to George! Super delicious and healthy! They do run out of lamb though if you come in close to closing time, which is what happened to me. The cashier made up for it with his personality and by telling me to check-in on Yelp so he could give me a free dessert (baklava). I will be returning! Great experience. read more

Food is amazing! I order the chicken shish plate and it is always fantastic. This is what has gotten addicted to Mediterranean food. The staff is mostly friendly and very helpful. My only complaint is not enough pita bread comes with your meal! But I love Sultans and will continue to eat there. read more
