This is a TAKEOUT ORDER review. It's expensive but still worth it because it's convenient, food is great, and portions are a decent size. Takeout portion size is probably less than dine in portions, based on the pics I saw. But still enough for you to be full. Food was ready in 30 minutes. I called at 5pm on Thursday. Online order & pickup is probably an easier way to do it. Hard to communicate on the phone. Hard to pronounce food items and she did not speak English fluently. She was very friendly, though. I was happy with most of my food. Delicious and not too oily. Good, strong flavors. BUT I was disappointed that the garlic pepper pork had barely any, only a tiny amount of sauce. BUT the pork was still delicious. Kinda sweet and crispy. But I'm sure more sauce would make it even better! Another disappointment was the spicy drunken noodles. It barely had any tomatoes or fresh basil. Just some very small pieces of both. I still liked it but wish there were more of both those things. Also, medium spicy level was too spicy for me. The SUMRAN TOM YUM GOONG (soup bowl) was an ok size and delicious. 4 big shrimp! But EXTREMELY SPICY. I like the strong tom yum flavor and strong LIME flavor. But too spicy and salty for me. Also, it has milk in it, which is kinda weird to me, but you barely taste it. If you're not sure, try low spicy level, because medium spicy was too intense for me. Well, everyone is different and what you would consider spicy is subjective. but for context, I have a low to medium tolerance for spicy food, usually. This is the kind of spicy that sometimes makes you cough like crazy. Also got Thai tea and fried bananas with ice cream. They were good. The Thai coffee is good but VERY bitter and strong. Ordered yellow curry and this is the amount of rice they give you, stating that if you want more it costs extra. Its not even enough for the dish, unless you prefer eating your curry as a soup. Came on a Friday evening, parking was okay. Small stripe like mall, nothing fancy. Entered and got seated right away. Ambiance pretty modern, almost seems out of place for the area. It's very inconspicuous outside but surprisingly cute inside. Ordered the Pad Thai and Tom Kha soup to go. Although interaction was limited, the lady at the counter was nice. Pad Thai was moist. Lots of bean sprouts, and I felt that they skimped out on the chicken. Could use more spice. The Tom Kha on the other hand had lots of chicken. Soup was very flavorful and delicious. Still piping hot when I started eating it. Decent serving sizes and prices were reasonable so I might come back. I loved the vibe of this restaurant. The plaza it's in is a little old but don't let that deter you! The interior is beautiful and they offer both sushi and Thai food. They cut pieces of squid and assembled to look like a whole squid. It was probably 1/4 of a whole squid. False advertising The beef in the pad see ew was so hard it must've came from a very old cow which shows that the owners procure low quality beef for their dishes. Of course I ordered a Thai tea; sweet to balance out the savory food. Every dish I tried was yummy! Loved the cashew and shrimp in the pineapple fried rice. For the pad see ew, loved the noodle texture, seasonings, and scrambled eggs. It was my first time trying rad nah, and it was very similar but with a gravy on top. They also have chili and spices (4) available at the table, which added a great kick! Service was great and food come out fairly quick: rice and noodles first, then the gravy noodles about 10 minutes after. Great authentic Thai cuisine with friendly service. While I was by Westminster Mall and needed a place to eat, my friend and I chose Sumaran Thai on a Saturday evening. There were about 5 tables occupied but spacious seating. A gentleman walked out of the kitchen and were able to seat us immediately. By the center of the room there was a table occupied with plates and utensils. I wondered if they were close to closing or if they designated that area as a work station. Our waiter allowed us to select our preferred seating and the booths were very comfortable. We were immediately asked if we wanted any drinks or if there were any questions. The gentleman was very informative and helpful. I liked that there were unique dishes that made the restaurant stand out. I ended up ordering the Samran soup and Samran fried rice. Both were well executed with flavor and quality ingredients. The fried rice had a small spice kick and was curious if I could modify the level because it wasn't asked. The soup was probably my favorite because I tasted all the ingredients. They even have condiments on the table were you can add additional spices or vinegar.
