Surprisingly, I like this place! Been reading about the other reviews here and I am a bit hesistant to try it but it exceeded my expectations. We came around 1pm and there are a lot of breads available, and they all look good so got a couple. We also tried the coffee and salted cream black tea and it was good! Ofcourse we got the Portugese Egg tart which is just a dollar and the Napoleon Egg tart $1.49 each and I must say it's both good for it's price, it's not too sweet but still creamy. Service is good too, they were fast and polite. I saw that they have cakes too, which I think are affordable for the price and I saw a lot of people buying their BOGO drinks. Will definitely come back to try different things

I grabbed an 8inch strawberry chiffon cake for a birthday celebration. The 8 inch was $40 and served us all. Minimalistic decoration and lightly sweetened. Parking in the rear if you don't want to fight for parking in the front. Please come a d create your own adventure.

My love for carbs is endless Sunmerry hits that and the cravings but the breads disappear quick. Try their green onion pork sung, BBQ Pork Bolo, or mochi taro bread for something not too sweet. They are running drink promos here and there which can mean a BOGO deal for you and a friend. Truth be told, this review is really about their egg tarts! They are running a $1 promo for their portuguese egg tarts and $1.19 for their Napoleon. A-MAZING. Egg tarts have beautiful layers and made in house. I love the personal touch and coziness of this establishment. Service can be slow if it's just one register but it's worth the wait.

Love sunmerry's coconut raisin breads they are so yummy . They have all sorts of delicious sweet and savory treats. Definitely recommend trying some if you haven't.

Nothing memorable for me here, it was just an average bakery to me. Ordered a couple of egg tarts, not bad but I could get the same thing closer to home in Westminster.

Their Napoleon egg tart is so good! Custardy middle, flaky shell--delicious! I appreciate it being $1.49! I highly recommend!

Get this!! Omg the matcha cake is so good. The match powder is strong and yummy. I'm so surprised cuz I'm not that into matcha The taro cake is surprisingly good too! Get this. It has a layer of pudding! Taste like the Japanese pudding in 3 small cup in 7-11. The flavor contrast so so complimentary I like the Black Forest and tiramisu cake. But the new flavors I mentioned on top is such a surprise!!! Store is clean and orderly. Can pay with card. Everything has a divider. Also there's a bench outside to sit if u cant wait to eat trip back home.

Love this bakery for a sweet treat or savory pastry. They also have a BOGO drink special for the summer, which changes based on the day for the week. Since it was Sunday, we got BOGO on boba milk tea, which served as a delicious post meal treat. The boba was qq, and milk tea wasn't too sweet. Also got an Ube conche, the ube topping was great, but the ube filling wasn't sweet enough IMO. This parking lot is always busy on the weekends, so be prepared to loop around a few times before finding a spot. Nothing noteworthy about ambiance since it's a small storefront meant for takeout.

An authentic Taiwanese bakery with high quality baked goods. I've been craving pork floss bread for ages, and I'm so glad I finally found it here.

Ky-Anh H.

It's a good, simple bakery! There were a lot of nice small pastries to choose from, and I ended up just getting a chicken cheddar because of what I was craving in the moment. And it turned out to be pretty good! I also got a matcha latte and my personal taste is a little different, and I like my drinks sweet. The matcha wasn't too strong, but it did hit the mark on that other end I mentioned, so overall, it wasn't too bad either

Shannon Z.

Ordered a matcha tiramisu birthday cake from here, it was very nice and creamy with a good matcha flavor and matcha dusting on top. Also got a sesame mochi bun. Did not taste the mochi but the black sesame was yummy, bread was slightly dry but overall tasted good!

Beware of plastic found in drink!!

Updating my review: Since I frequent A&J next door, I decided to stop by and look at their bakery selection. They've significantly improved since I've last been here years ago. The breads were fresh and I enjoyed the cakes and donuts as well. Favorites: chocolate donut- it's so soft and fluffy. Very fresh. Black Forest cake!- love this one for birthdays Drinks: strawberry black tea with lychee or strawberry cream foam tea. Both delicious! I've enjoyed my last few visits here and recommend!

Chloe L.

The bread here is probably one of the best in Irvine because they use really high-quality ingredients and there's a nice selection of classic bread that you find at a typical Chinese bakery as well as new flavors! They even have mochi donuts and really unique flavors of moon cake.

Should I order a birthday cake in advance? If I come 7 or 8 pm today, is the 6 or 8 inch birthday cake still available?

Honestly, I cannot even imagine how sweet it would be without modifying the sweetness level. As someone who prefers non dairy drinks, I was happy to hear from the girl taking my order that it's made with oat milk. That creamy oat milk combined with the matcha and pandan made the drink smooth. This one is definitely going to be my new go to order!
