Me with my painting that I made at Sunset Rooftop's Sip , Smoke & Paint Event !

I usually come to this location and recommend it to a lot of people, however my last two visits consecutively were a little bit under par. I paid for a drink and the sip and paint special. However, I had to wait almost an hour and 30 minutes for my drink to be brought out, and the painting session was completely over, twice in a row. I'm not sure if it was deliberate or if there was some sort of error however, I just didn't feel very valued and like I should be continuing to invest money into the space. This will unfortunately be my last visit as I don't feel like signing up to not get service for a third time would be very reasonable/practical on my end. All the best.

Mojo delivered outstanding service--attentive, personable, and made the whole experience feel effortless. From our hookah to champagne and drinks, everything was handled smoothly and with great energy. He checked in just the right amount and kept the vibe elevated all night. Parking is free at nights and there is a small parking lot. They have gold champagne flutes that are so cute and a dj that comes in. They do a lot here such as sip and paints, candle making and karaoke. For birthdays they give a complimentary dessert, sparkler, bubbles from a gun, etc. We got a bottle of Moet and they put it on ice. When there is no dj they have just a music box that you put money into. We can that up of $40 because the box didn't really play good music on its own. Service was good and prices not too bad. Bottled water- $1 Wings- $15 Shot- $15 They had some hot lemon pepper wings and the fries were 10000000/100000000000. Seasoned very well, fresh and homemade. They gives lots of ranches and ketchup and a side of carrots and celery. It was tasty! They have hookah here too!

The space is super cute and I'm sure I'll go back to take advantage of one of the little private rooms you can rent by the hour. However, I went for a Groupon experience, bottomless mimosas and candle making. I was told to make a reservation, which was easy to do, I simply called and told the hostess I purchased the candle making for two people and wanted to make a reservation for the following Sunday and she easily added me +1 for 5:30pm. Unfortunately, upon check in, I was told that candle making is actually at 8pm and paint and sip is 5:30pm. I explained that when I made the reservation she asked if 5:30 worked and I said yes. The hostess informed me that it was a mistake because candles are 8pm every day with paint @5:30 every day. She offered to add me to the paint, which although I don't enjoy at all, my friend was down for. As we were early we decided to order some food. I asked for a draft beer and was told it wasn't working, so I ordered a bottle of beer, which at $9 I thought was a bit pricey. We ordered nachos and were told they were out- this was at 4:45 pm on a Sunday. After checking with the chef, the server told us that we could indeed order nachos. We also ordered hummus and grilled pita which for $13 an order, I figured had to be massive. I'll let you decide by the pics. The sun was setting and again I thought the outside space was adorable and perfect for a craft Again, let me stress that I strongly dislike all paint nights but even my friend said it wasn't the most fun experience she's had without a fun and involved teacher. All in all, pretty pricey but cute space.

Royale was cool as our server, my first time @sunsetrooftop. Marino was also great for keeping our hookah maintained. I ordered hot pepper wings & fries they were yummy and hot. The kitchen is currently being renovated, my daughter having her engagement party on august 30th hopefully it will be ready. This place is cozy we had fun a lot , they are some things that isn't good. The parking lot is very small there's street parking available. The stairs are somewhat narrow and steep, happy I wore low heels. As we were leaving I asked the security guard was there an elevator he said yes. All in all it's cute cozy just needs a few improvements....

Such a cute fun candle making class. We had a private room we share with 2 other gals who were cool. We were able to connect to a speaker and play our own music. We did have to take our creations outside in the cool air for them to harden faster which it did quickly. Outside is a cute small outdoor area with a large TV playing sports and music playing. Okay, where should I start. This place is so OVERRATED........ well the website is , it's very deceiving! The picture and menu is misleading. The place is located in a grimy area and Very Very SMALL in the inside. I ordered chicken and waffle , my waffles was cold when it came out and I received chicken strips instead of chicken wings ( as roscoes chicken and waffle was a few doors down, wish I've would just went there instead. If you're 19-24 maybe this place may be a fit. They played one type of music . The place definitely needs some love and tender care as it looked really dirty and Rundown, restroom did not have paper towels water was all over the sink and floors - the Red carpet out front at the entrance was ridiculously dirty and service was really really slow. This place definitely need a make over and don't look anything like the website pictures. Oh, if you're looking for good drinks - don't look here sadly to say they only have bottom of the barrel liquor, No name brand vodka tequila , and " Grand Marnier NOT Grand Marnier", my friend instantly got an headache as we asked what type of liquor was given , and was informed that it was a copy of " Grand Marnier " etc so un heard of. Very disappointed this place is so misleading down to the looks, and drinks and more. Our waitress took over 40 minutes to come to our table after we arrived and I called for the manager like 2 times . I wouldn't go back there to spend my hard earned money. The food is overpriced and sub par. The ambience does not match the beautiful vibe shown on the internet. The patio is a wall of fake grass and fake strands of flowers hanging overhead. The service was slow besides the fact we were the only ones there. We were given wet, sticky beer glasses with our pitcher that tasted like Miller Lite as opposed to the Golden Wheat we ordered. When we paid it prompted for a tip and nobody mentioned an 18% tip was already included. Do not recommend. read more

The place was very nice. Music was really good, the LITs were loaded and the hookah was very good and I loved how often we got coals replaced. The highlight of the place and of the night was Asia, the host you could hope for, she had the right energy and positivity that made me feel comfortable, a contagious smile to say the least and a genuinely nice person to deal with. Came here with my boyfriend looking for a hookah lounge and I am impressed. The outside patio is beautifully decorated and the hookah is very affordable. The drinks are pricy but strong! And it's very clean. Parking is not ideal but all in all I would come again read more

It's an okay place. The tips included, and the server didn't disclose that. But, based on my calculations they charged more, and I asked to show the bill. They don't show you the bill, they bring a portable register and you can't see the bill, they just give you the number. And, then they ask for more tips. After, I asked to see the bill, I saw a service charge. And we asked the money back. Lol read more

Came here for brunch and the music is super loud. You can hardly hear the other person talking to you. I ordered their avocado toast and it was pretty bland, even after adding an egg to it. The servers were good about refilling the bottomless mimosas. The place looked very empty and it was super hot. Maybe it's better at night for those who want to do hookah at night, but not a great place for brunch. read more

Was here for a bday party. Service was horrible, ordered water took over 30min. Did not get food for over a hr. Some of us didn't even get our food. They only had one cook. Food that did come was cold. We ended up going to Roscoe's to eat. read more

I went here for hookah and it was well bodied for hours. I also was super pleased with the food options, being vegetarian I ordered the fried zucchini and it was sooo tasty and crunchy also, the mimosa came in the prettiest glass I had ever seen! Loved the ambiance, so cute for Instagram. The place is also small/quaint, which was nice since I went alone and didn't feel uncomfortable. read more

I've never had better service from an employee in any type of setting than the service that Asia provided for my friends and I. We were immediately seated for a somewhat large group and steady attention was given throughout our outing. I recommend everyone request ASIA to take care of your crew. The GOAT of hospitality. First time here and not only was the ambiance chill and the vibe was legit BUUUUT the server JACOB knew this lounge like the back of his hand! His service was 10/10! If anyone come here ask for Jacob! He will take care of you 100%! He was very professional and was consistently checking on my table! Our coal server(EDDIE) was very respectful and professional ! Fantastic place! My friends and I came in for a few drinks, and stayed for the ambiance. They had a comedy show going on, and the comedians were hilarious. We ordered the new wings, and they were the best wings we have eaten in all of LA. Try the white sauce, it slaps! Our server was Alejandra, and she was an angel. My second time coming here. Was very excited to come back due to the excellent service I had the previous day. They had no indoor space so they told us there was an outdoor heated patio. It was frigid at first so I asked for the heat and they brought it next to me. The heat was scalding and burning the right side of my forehead. I got a painful head ache that I didn't get to finish my mimosa Not my loaded fries. I work in the restaurant industry and am very familiar with heated patio service and this did not meet the bare minimum expectation at all. Would love to come back when they have adequate accommodation for outdoor seating but as for now I would not recommend which is unfortunate since I wasted a Saturday night visiting when I could've went to another spot. 0/5. read more

Came for the silent disco on a Friday night. Was advertised as a '90s-and-'00s-music flashback, and had two DJs. I assumed they'd be playing different types of pop and dance music throughout the night, and that each DJ would specialize in some specific genres, and would each be different from each other's. But unfortunately, both DJs only played the same types of hip-hop and grungy R&B the entire time, and their music was indistinguishable from each other's. And starting from midnight or so, virtually every song played had extremely sexually-graphic and dirty lyrics. While it's OK to play a song like that every once in a while for fun, it gets really old and boring if that's all they play. Anyway, this was my first time to frequent a silent disco, and thought the headphones could've had a lot better bass than they did -- especially if one is used to good-sounding headphone brands like V-Moda. I may try some other silent discos in the future. While this one did have friendly service, the atmosphere and the music here just didn't quite cut it for me. read more

This place is a hidden gem in Hollywood! Prices are reasonable and they are very accommodating. My party and I came here on a Thursday at 1pm and we received the best service! We started with bottomless mimosas along with brunch and we ended up getting a berry/watermelon mint hookah which was really good! Luis was great to us the whole evening, he even made us his personal drink. I will definitely be coming back here again. 5/5 stars! read more

Went to the paint and sip event this past Saturday and for the most part it was cool. They seemed a bit overwhelmed couldn't even order a drink at the bar. The tickets are a bit misleading the $70 implies that it comes with hookah which it doesn't. The speaker the music was playing from wasn't good. And the choice of painting wasn't great either. Overall did have fun cause me and friends do no mater where we are. Only way I would go back if a friend was celebrating there and I probably would suggest another place ‍ read more

Sunset Rooftop opened in 2018 with the goal of creating a relaxed, welcoming space in Hollywood where guests could enjoy food, drinks, and great views. Over the years, the venue has gone through several upgrades and expansions, evolving from a small rooftop lounge into a full restaurant and event space with indoor and outdoor seating. Sunset Rooftop introduced daily entertainment, including karaoke, comedy nights, DJs, bingo, trivia, sip and paint sessions, and candle‑making classes. The addition of VIP and private rooms made it a popular choice for birthdays, date nights, and group celebrations. Since 2018, Sunset Rooftop has continued to reinvent itself while keeping the same mission: offering a fun, memorable experience for every guest.

We were seated at 9:04 PM and didn't place our order until around 9:20 PM because it took that long just to get drink orders taken. Wanting to avoid any further delays, we ordered everything at once. Our meals arrived around 9:42 PM, which seemed reasonable, except my daughter's meal never came out. We informed our server and were repeatedly told it was "on the way." Fifteen minutes later, still nothing. We began sharing our food with our daughter so she could eat with us. We asked again and again, receiving apologies each time, but no meal. By 10:25 PM--more than an hour after ordering--my daughter's plate finally arrived. By then everyone else had already finished eating and were simply waiting while she rushed to eat alone. Thinking we were finally nearing the end, I requested our bill and ordered two slices of red velvet cake to go. Surely that wouldn't take long. Wrong again. While waiting, another large table from the East Coast asked to speak with a manager and described their own frustrating experience with delayed orders and lack of assistance. When the manager returned, I simply asked if we could please get our two slices of cake so we could leave. He apologized and went to retrieve them. It took 25 minutes to get 2 slices of cake and possibly longer if I had not stopped the manager. We finally walked out more than two hours after being seated, having spent most of that time waiting rather than enjoying our meal. To make matters worse, going a few minutes beyond the two-hour mark triggered another hour of parking charges, making an already expensive evening even more frustrating. I feel bad because I had built this place up so much to my family, and their first experience was disappointing. I know holiday crowds can be difficult, and I truly appreciate the staff members who remained courteous throughout the night, but management seriously underestimated the demand and the customer experience suffered because of it. I hope Fixins can address these issues because I'd like to remember the restaurant for its food and hospitality and not for spending two hours mostly waiting to be served. I had to take pics of my daughter with her head down on the table waiting on her food. Happy to share them privately.

Everything was delicious, and every dish that came out of the kitchen looked just as good as what we ordered. One thing to note is that it's an alcohol-free establishment, but that was no issue for us because the mocktails were fantastic. Thoughtful, flavorful, and a perfect complement to the meal. Also, people talking loudly even tho it was not busy - inside would have been better, less busy, super open and so much seating. Saw 2 girls there who got ALL the breakfast foods and this is where I realized we went wrong. If you come here for lunch, I'd recommend the breakfast food - it looked FANTASTIC! Or maybe a pizza. We started with an appetizer that our server recommended over the hummus, and I'm glad we took the suggestion. It had a unique flavor, and the pita bread was absolutely delicious. Be prepared to spend some money here. Dinner for two can easily run over $100 if you're ordering more than just an appetizer and salad. The food itself was interesting, with bold and unique seasonings. Some dishes leaned a little salty for my taste, and I found myself going back and forth on whether I loved them or not, but they were definitely memorable. If you're looking for a fun date-night spot or a lively place to meet up with friends, this restaurant is worth checking out. It has a great vibe and a lot of character. While it's probably not somewhere I'd visit regularly, I'm glad I gave it a try.

Subpar "Avocado Toast", Exceptional Service I recently dined at Sunset Rooftop hoping for an incredible experience BUT unfortunately it left much to be desired. Thankfully the wait staff attentiveness & efforts significantly improved the overall dining experience. They deserve high marks for their service, Despite the efforts of the friendly wait staff, I cannot overlook the dismal quality of the avocado dish. Now, let's talk about the "avocado toast." I regret to say it was an absolute disappointment and major letdown. This rendition of the popular dish was far from a culinary delight. The avocado mixture had an overwhelming amount of lime, rendering it unpleasantly tangy. Furthermore, it was spread too thin on barely toasted, basic white bread. The combination resulted in an unappetizing creation. I was genuinely taken aback by how unpalatable it was. I must admit, this was the worst "avocado toast" I have ever encountered. Considering the stark contrast between the exceptional wait staff and the subpar quality of the "avocado toast", it pains me to give a one-star rating. The service provided by the wait staff was the saving grace of an otherwise disappointing dining experience. I sincerely hope the restaurant takes the feedback into account and strives to improve the quality of their "avocado toast". read more

Sunset Rooftop fell short of expectations, a disparity not reflected on their website. Service was remarkably slow; despite a 2:00 pm reservation, we waited an unacceptable hour and a half to place our order. Moreover, the website fails to mention the presence of smoking and the lack of a smoke-free area. While DJ Pony Boy's performance salvaged my friend's birthday celebration, the overall experience was marred by inattentive and even rude staff. A busboy and hostess preemptively cleared drinks, compounding the frustration caused by the initial delay. The disorganization extended to the staff, as I witnessed a waitress being ignored while requesting help. To add to the list of issues, three guests at our table received overcooked salmon and had to send it back. The patio games offered a pleasant, casual atmosphere, but the dirty tablecloth and consistently poor service significantly detracted from the experience. Had it not been for DJ Pony Boy's entertainment, my rating would have been considerably lower. read more

Having a great time in LA but I can definitely say Sunsets the most fun I've had this far!! Food and drinks were amazing but our server Selena was the real tea. She was so full of energy and easy going. She answered all our questions and even gave us a great hookah flavor to try out. It was really refreshing to not to be rushed and to be treated like a valued customer in such a busy city!! Loved it 100%!! HOOKAH HIT, FOOD WAS AMAZING, SERVICE WAS ON POINT!! The establishment owner employs/allows a man who assaults women to host an event here every Tuesday. When they were alerted to this, they told the victim, "Don't talk to us about this. It's none of our business." As a business owner myself, I'd want to know if I was employing a potentially dangerous person. This place is low brow like its owner. There are far more classy lounges in Hollywood and the surrounding areas. Skip this place if you don't want to support a business that says it's ok for men to assault women. read more

I had the most wonderful experience with Gia, the painting class instructor at Sunset Rooftop! I was pretty clueless about painting and lacked confidence, but Gia's patience and positivity made me feel right at home. She encouraged me every step of the way and helped me discover my artistic side. I can't believe how much progress I made under her guidance. Literally came here with a homegirl and we were seated ( wasn't EXTREMELY busy) we sat down and were told someone would be coming to help us we sat there for 20 min watching waitresses walk back and fourth and no one even came to take our drink order. I went to Sunset Rooftop for a paint and sip event, and it was such a fun experience! As an added bonus, they had hookah too, which made the night even better. If you enjoy painting like I do, this is definitely the place for a great date or night out. The vibes were perfect with good music, food, and drinks, plus Roscoe's is right downstairs if you're in the mood for more after. Always come here for the laid back vibe. This place knows how to create a chill atmosphere. Went and found out they have silent disco on weekdays which was dope to know! Great service, the hookah boy with the curly hair always got me and always gives me a good laugh! I always ask for his sister Amina to serve us. Make sure you ask for her! Such a charming girl.
