When we read the reviews online , we were skeptical and hesitated to come to this restaurant . However, my husband said we should give it a chance , And we were so glad that we did . The food was excellent ! The seafood was fresh . They kept bringing out new hot food . Also , you must try the cheese cake. It was so smooth , creamy and yummy . We had a big group of 30 people this evening . They gave us a separate room . The lady who served us was very nice and friendly . We will definitely come back again. read more

I'm gunna say the same thing as King Buffet because they are pretty much the same but there's a bad side and a good side... 1. the bad side is they measure your box before you take it go to. WTF? King Buffet dosn't do that, they let you pick out as much as you can as long as you can fit it in the box. 2. only one good thing is they have Ha Gao (shrimps dumpling it's so hard to find in Santa Rosa) I don't know why, but every time I eat here I seem to notice I always have stomach pain and have to go on the run (bathroom)..Maybe their food isn't clean. read more

We have eaten many times at Fu Zhou and of course have our favorites.I enjoy the dim sum,especially the har gow ,shrimp balls and siu mei.Char siu bow pretty tasty,too.. The sushi is a fave of my husband and he says that it is better now than in the past. I also like the chicken wings, spicy green beans,octopus and all of the fruit. I like the cheese cake and the 'party' cake for dessert,too. I have been unaware of any MSG shaker. We are both ususally sensitive to its use and have no problems with Fu Zhou's food. Saw this and thought that it would be good to try. There was a ton of people so we thought okay why not it must be good. We were seated, given two glasses of water, and haven't been talked to since. Horrible!! Never tried this place till today. Herd some good things about the food. Never again!!! I was surprised on how many options there were, but when we got closer it looked gross. It was all picked through and looked like it had been sitting out all day. My friend and I each got a plate. Everything was peppery and salty. This is not good Chinese food. The buffet here is clearly very very large and you can get anything from pizza to lemon chicken to frog legs (no joke) but all of it is low quality and tastes somewhat unpleasant. I didn't detect any msg or too much salt or grease, so you don't have to fear getting violently ill, but you won't enjoy it either. Going for a Chinese buffet you will be disappointed, there are only five or so Chinese entrees, and general tso chicken is not one of them. The hot and sour soup is fairly good and the waiters are swift and kind, which judging by some older review must be a change from before. If you don't have high standards for Chinese food you'll be fine, but realistically who that has high standards goes to a buffet? read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I just recently ate at this place and got FOOD POISONING!! I was just in the emergency room with a high fever, sharp stomach pains that felt like knives stabbing my stomach and since I have a sensitive heart the fever triggered a fast heart rate of up to 156 bpm. They had to pump me full of antibiotics and IV fluids before I started to feel even a little bit better. I ended up missing several days of work due to their crappy food! I ate some seafood including mussels and squid which were cold which I should have complained about right away but I was just hungry at the time and I trusted the safety of their food so I didn't really care. I will definitely NEVER eat there again! I imagine that when their food is no longer fresh instead of tossing it and replacing it with hot fresh food they just leave it there so that more customers can eat it up to save their cost. I've eaten all the strange things at Fu Zhou and I've never gotten sick from them. The restroom should be condemned as it smells like an roadside out house. It's been in business a long time. A lot of Mexican families go for the shrimp and crab legs. especially after church on Sunday. Don't hate on the buffet... If its not for you, then do go! I think this place rocks, however for it to rock, it has to be busy!! I only come here once in a great while, when i am itching for some hot & sour soup, and in the downtown area. The trick is, to ONLY GO IN WHEN ITS SUPER BUSY!! It's funny how polarized the views on this place are. I thought the selection and quality was amazing for the price (we had the lunch buffet). Trust me, I know sushi, and I was amazed by the quality of the sushi there. Obviously it's not quite what you would get from a dedicated sushi restaurant, but it was some of the best buffet sushi I've ever had. We were at the end of the lunch period, right before the cutoff, and there were still a few fresh types being put out, and the other obviously hadn't been out too long. I had two of almost every kind of sushi! Also, while I could see why some people would complain about certain other items, everything I had was delicious and fresh enough.Very tender, well-marinated beef dishes, and I had some great orange pork as well. Great dessert selection, they even had CHEESECAKE AND SOFT-SERVE! The only slightly bad thing I noticed was that the outside of the crab legs I had was a bit salty and grimy, but you don't eat the outside! The meat inside was still very good. P.S. The bill was on the table in 2 sec. and we didn't get any food yet. 3. Management sent a little Hispanic girl to tell my hubby to finish his food or we will get charged $5. What the hell!!!! I feel like a little kid to finish all my food before I can get up. I have been coming here for years but in the past couple months the prices have gone up and the options on food are being taken away. The service has become bad as well. There was a problem with some cockroaches last time we went and the only thing the people had done was to take three dollars off of our bill. Upon entering looked nice, after going into the packed kitchen and getting food we sat down noticed every employee looked like there were forced to serve hordes of people after a nuclear boomb, notcied the place was really dark cold and depressing food quality very low waste of 17 dollars, there's much better buffets out there! Short and sweet: Lots of food. Lots of variety. The hot and sour soup was very good. Everything else was not good. Some very strange forms of fish. Calamari pieces 4 inches long with a long stretchy vein inside? Chilled shrimp were not cleaned. Baked salmon, among other things was way too salty to eat. Horrible service. Disgusting food. Crooked owners. For two people I was charged $50 because they added a large group gratuity to my tab. Last time I checked two people are not a large group. When we tried to dispute the charges the woman at the front yelled at us then proceeded to call the police, and since she knew an upset costumer most likely wouldn't get an officer out to them she lied and said that we punched one of her employees. The food is good, the selections are normally the same and the bananas with strawberry sauce are great. However, the restaurant management and parents find it unimportant that young children are "playing" in the food because they were allowed to go into the food area without proper adult supervision. We were in the food area twice during our visit and both times there were kids picking up food and putting it back, mostly at the deserts and by the egg rolls and fries. After about a year of avoiding all you can eat buffets I decided to splurge. Well the price went up 20 percent and the quality dropped at least 20 percent. Bland food, no more shrimp, nasty mushy cooked white-fish, dry over cooked funky tasting chum-like salmon. The soup tasted like super spicy habanero funk. Little caesar type pizza was gross .Mini clams were cold. I am getting a nauseous sensation as I type this review. Oh, and Clumps of the last patrons food were under the table. Lastly, went to use the head, and it looked as if someone blew chunks all over the sink and floor. It's sadly apparent why fewer people seem to eat here. This is pretty much how Kings restaurant went belly up. Now the greedy idiototic city of santa rosa has installed a centralized parking pay station, and what a cluster f!@# that turned into. Held a birthday party here and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. There's a backroom that's perfect for hosting parties. It's a little more quiet.
