For a food court, this place is amazing! I would not say it's authentic but with the lack of Mediterranean options past Kakaako this stand does enough to satisfy your gyro cravings. There are two locations at NEX, one in the actual food court on the 2nd floor, and the other is outside between the Commissary and NEX entrance. It's literally the same. We got the Beef and Lamb gyro combo with side salad for $13. It was perfect! We did get both with the spicy tzatziki dressing and it had enough kick to taste it but not overpower the meat. The pita bread was not cooked, it was very soft and doughy. Picking up the sandwich, it fell apart. They charged me extra for cheese and spicy, but there was not any cheese on it, only a sauce that was dumped on the entire thing. The worker was not very helpful, and seemed annoyed when I was trying to make a decision on the menu. It was my first time, and it would have been nice to be recommended by the worker or at least patient while trying to look over everything. The building is very small and personal. Hubs went to pick up lunch for us after running errands. He ordered the falafel plate and beef & lamb gyro to go. I got the chicken Gyro, it wasn't anything special, just chicken, iceberg lettuce and Tzatziki sauce. If you want hummus, olives, feta cheese it's all an additional add on, i should have ordered the add one as i feel it would have greatly added to the Gyro. I would come here again if i'm in the area but wouldn't go out of my way. I got my food in 5 minutes or less so not a long wait. read more

This kiosk is located on the second floor of the NEX/Commissary building but you don't need a military ID to eat here. There's plenty of parking around the building and lots of seating areas both inside and outside. It's a chow hall type of feel so not the most cozy, but it gets the job done. The few times I've ordered here, the people at the counter were a bit cut and dry, which some may perceive as rude. The food is good. The salad and lettuce are always fresh and the tzatziki sauce is yummy. The bread and meat are ok. Overall experience would have to be a 3/5 s! I've been to Super Gyros & Salads a few times for a quick lunch, and I'll have to say it never really disappoints. Every time I go, I get the spicy gyro plate and it's always a GENEROUS amount of food, however I would say that there could definitely be a little more meat included with the plate to make it more filling! 9/5/24 Stopped to pick up a late lunch around 2:45PM. This place is located at the NEX shopping mall upstairs in the food court. There's a huge parking lot & the food court is open to the public. I hadn't eaten here in yrs, pre-covid, to be exact & had a hankering for their gyros. We've always liked the food here & I was hoping that hasn't changed. Ordered just 2 beef & lamb gyros for just $8.99 each. There was no line & I was greeted by a nice & friendly Asian worker. Quite efficient & even asked if I wanted some olives added to the gyros for extra cost but I declined. My order came up pretty quickly, maybe 5 - 6 minutes? They have a simple menu of gyros, salads, some sides, and of course, baklava. I was tempted to buy some dessert but I stayed strong & just got the gyros. When I unwrapped the food at home, I was pleasantly surprised they were huge! At first, I just saw tons of iceberg lettuce on top & figured I would be cheated out of the protein but I was proven wrong. When I opened the pita up, I saw a pile of beef & lamb underneath the lettuce & covered the whole bottom of the pita bread. They did not skimp on the meat & there were equal portions of beef & lamb. And to complement the sandwich, were the other veggies of tomato & red onion with tzasiki sauce & feta cheese. It was so round like a huge burrito, that when taking the first bite, could hardly get my mouth around it. It was so ONO & just the way we remembered it from previous visits. I didn't think I was going to finish it, but I wolfed it all down. Great blending of flavors, you get more than your money's worth here. Keep in mind, be sure to have lots of napkins around, it is quite the messy sandwich to eat. Next time though, I would ask for the sauce on the side because when I got home & finally ate it, the pita bread got a little soggy, but didn't break apart. The pita bread was so soft & pliable, not dry, & had a nice thickness to it, not overly bready tasting. It was really spacious because the indoor dining has been discontinued - all tables and chairs have been removed. The air conditioning, free parking, and convenient restroom at this Food Court are truly appreciated! I didn't want to have Taco Bell, McDonald's, Dairy Queen, or Subway because I can get those off base. I chose to patronize Super Gyros and Salads because I hadn't heard of them before. After doing some research, it seems that Super Gyros used to be at the Food Court at the University of Hawaii in Manoa. The student population was probably not enough to support this business, so it was a smart move to come to the NEX at Pearl Harbor where anyone can be a customer! Yes - a military ID is not necessary! I ordered the #1 - Beef and Lamb Gyro. It was wrapped in parchment paper and foil. I took my package outside and sat on a stone wall in the shade. It was perfect! The cool trade winds and sunny blue Hawaiian sky with puffy white clouds made a beautiful, natural ambiance! The pita bread was nice and chewy; the lettuce was fresh and crisp; the meat was tender and tasty! Yum! For a food court option, this place is pretty good. It's located in the nex mall in a small kiosk and is a different option beside the normal sandwiches and local style plate lunches. I decided to stop and grab a gyro salad, checked in on Yelp, and immediately got a bit upset that I didn't look at the ratings first. I can't tell you how happy I am that I wasn't deterred, because it was the best gyro meat I have EVER had!! Super flavorful, moist, and tender. Service was a bit slow because there was only one employee who was taking orders, cashing customers out, and making all of the meals. She seemed a little overwhelmed, but stayed calm and extremely polite. Even being understaffed, I got my order within 10 minutes. The veggies were fresh, toppings were plentiful, meat was amazing as mentioned before, and the tzatziki sauces were delicious. I asked for half regular, half spicy and highly recommend doing so! Everyone who has served me has been nothing but professional at a bare minimum. They are always quick and snappy. I have never waited any longer than what felt like 5-8 minutes The lamb is freshly cooked and is not dry and chewy. Alongside with the baked warm pita that feels and tastes like it is from a credible farm. There isn't anything to say about the ambiance, as the setting is in a mall along with other restaurants. The overall price is great for a gyro that is less than $10. You can customize it with a small, simple menu. Again, good prices and portion sizes that will leave you wanting more. For lunch today, I got the beef & lamb gyro ($8.29 + tax, currently $8.69 total), from Super Gyro's outdoor kiosk at Pearl Harbor NEX. Civilians can wander in and eat here, no need military ID. Greek food is "all Greek to me" as I hardly have it, but here goes the commentary: the gyro was wrapped securely, about 8" long and as big around as a can of tennis balls. It contained a LOT of shredded iceberg lettuce, respectable amount of meat, a little raw tomato and onions, and dollop of tzatziki sauce. The pita was fresh and soft. There were several patties of ground seasoned meat inside that were well-seasoned and juicy and went well with the tzatziki sauce. Everything was easy and neat to eat in my car. There are seating areas outside, but the area was more populated for 4th of July weekend than I usually see it. They had several other customers at the same time I showed up, and only one person working inside Service was quick and friendly enough regardless, and the price is reasonable considering prices have spiked so much lately. It doesn't feel like the kind of place that even gets reviews, but more an ordinary lunch counter. Which is still solid enough to revisit if you happen to be in the area. read more

The baklava might be the worst baklava I've ever tasted, not layered at all. Bottom crust, a thin layer of frozen honey and nuts then 20 layers of tasteless flakes.
