My visit to Superica was adequate. I sat at the bar and had very attentive service from everyone working behind the bar, and things were bustling. I ordered an O.G. margarita, which was decent. Complementary chips and salsa were brought out to me and those were very enjoyable. The chips were light, thin and crunchy, and both salsas were flavorful. I ordered the tacos de camarones for my entree and they were fine. The shrimp was a bit dry and tough, and there was A LOT of finely shredded cabbage. The sauce on the tacos was very good. Not sure I'd make a special trip to return with all of the other dining options in the area. read more

We've been to this location before and the one in Houston, TX. Both times those meals were fantastic. Sadly, tonight was not good. We ordered fajitas- corn tortillas were inedible, flour tortillas were stale and crumbled when filled, the meat was not cooked to order (came out rare not medium rare). We also received the wrong beans, which were so salty they could also not be eaten. In addition to the inedible beans and tortillas, the fajita plate was not hot enough and the butter wasn't melted. Our waitress was rude and disappeared to the point that another waitress noticed our table and asked to help. Then she went and got our waitress. Service was subpar at best. The music was also incredibly loud even though the restaurant was not busy. Sadly, a very expensive and disappointing evening. On the good side- the OG margaritas, salsa, and queso were very good. Unfortunately our waitress took our chips without asking and didn't replenish them. We won't ever go back to this location. read more

Superica never disappoints. I prefer the one in Krog City Market (the flavors hit better) but this one is good too. The salsas are delicious and a little closer to what we're used to coming from Arizona. The drinks are also reasonably priced and don't miss. This time, I had a ginger margarita, which I enjoyed. The ginger flavor was just right and not overpowering. I usually get the Chicken Verde and need to branch out. Well, I did but only a bit. I chose the Chicken Suiza, which the waitress suggested as it has a cream based sauce. Both dishes are good. I like sitting in the patio area that faces outside so that we can people watch. Honestly - for a place next to a baseball stadium I was expecting this place to be a lot more mediocre than it was. We walked in on a Tuesday evening at 6PM with no reservation. There was no game at Truist the night we went (mid-March). When we arrived the covered "outside" dining area was empty (it was a bit chilly) but the inside was almost completely full. I was surprised we were seated immediately with no reservation. We were served chips/salsa and waters within minutes of being seated and our waiter was on top of his game. He had great food & drink recommendations. I'm not usually a fan of chips and salsa at restaurants because quite frankly they are usually pretty bland but this was not the case here! The chips were freshly fried and the salsas were tasty! We were given two - a spicer more traditional salsa and an avocado based salsa. I had the tommy margarita (their version of a "skinny" marg), the sopa tortilla as an app, and I split the chicken fajitas. The sopa tortilla was a huge bowl and honestly one of the best tortilla soups I've had in a while. There was plenty of big chunks of juicy and tender chicken in the soup. The fajitas are a huge heaping portion and easily split by 2 people. We ordered the 8oz portion. They come with all of the traditional fixings. The one thing I wish is that the poblano pepper served with the chicken/onions had been served cut up. It came as a whole pepper and I personally prefer not having to cut my peppers while I'm eating. This place is good and we came with some friends! The time it took to place orders and receive were fast so that's great. Chicken fajita quesadilla only had chicken in it no veggies even though we asked the waiter and she said yes. A little disappointing but it was still good! The shrimp tacos were delicious and we got the jalepeno sausage that was juicy the shrimp tacos had a sauce on them that was a little spicy. I understand that superica is at the battery so they can charge a lot but $20 for two tacos is a little much for the quality rexeieved. Had a terrible experience a few years ago, gave them another try, terrible experience again. This time we ordered to go food on a Friday night. We got the mixed fajitas for two, and when we got home, realized they gave us meat for one and no tortillas. So I called and they said they refunded the money. We never got the refund. My husband and I live here at The Battery and Superica has become one of our staples when we don't feel like cooking. Two things that stand out about them: 1) the fresh homemade tortillas 2) the wood fire grill cooking. We come here at least twice a month (for the past year) and the food has always been consistent and delicious. My only sadness is that they took away the avocado crema sauce (bring it back please!) it paired perfectly with... everything. They have a fantastic selection of mezcal and tequila, and you can expect phenomenal margaritas. It is also first come first serve, you can't make a reservation ahead of time. So on game days, definitely expect a wait. They will validate your parking however (on game days) as long as your bill is over 50$. read more

Here's why... No option for reservations. I had to arrive at opening to grab us a table on a weekday. I can understand no reservations when the Braves are playing at home, but that's the policy 365. Loud! So loud! It was hard for us to hear one another, which isn't ideal at a business lunch. Lukewarm food. Nothing arrived hot and one guest received the wrong meal. We just made due with no complaints. It did affect my overall rating along with the other disappointments. I love Ford Fry restaurants, but this one isn't nearly as impressive as his others. They have their own chips served that are super crunchy. My wife had the tortilla soup. It was just ok. There was something off with the broth. It looked like it should be so good, but it was just warm salt water. ‍ We also ordered the Tacos al carbon, steak. Really good. Tasty flour tortillas and steak. Ordered medium rare came medium well, but it was still good. I always order a putty cheese tostada. Incredibly good. Puffy fried tortilla covered in cheese. A+. The atmosphere is fun and the service is slow, but not too slow. I knocked off a star for the soup and the temp of the restaurant. They have the a/c blowing on full blast when in is 45 degrees outside. Literally Arctic air is constantly blowing on you the entire meal. I asked for it to be adjusted as was told that it can't. Just have to deal with it. By the time we left I felt like my fingers had frost bite. Will try again in the summer. Will be nice to have jet steam a/c then. read more

Lee was our server and he was simply amazing!!! He went above and beyond for me and my friend. Brought a small sample of jalapeño dip and the frozen margarita of the day. The drinks were good. The food is kinda basic. They put a twist on Mexican food. Like their pickled jalapeños had carrots and onions in them. They have several salsas that they bring out. The fajitas don't have bell peppers. So different than you expect but in a good way. The chips were good as well. Light and crispy with the right amount of saltiness. This was such a cool day to hang out on a weekday and just enjoy the Battery instead of going to a game. They open for dinner at 5pm so that was different too. Overall, it was kinda pricey. I spent $112 for 2 people with a 20 dollar tip. I highly recommend and will be back soon. read more

This location at The Battery is a family favorite. Elite Yelper son @Connor M is usually part of the party. You can't go wrong with the OG margarita, and we just love their tacos Al carbon. They have the drop on flour tortillas. So good. On this visit the Queen Bee and I mixed and matched: chicken, pork belly, and steak. All were excellent. The jalapeño aioli was spicy and delish and recommended for that little extra kick for the chicken or steak. The pork belly has some special stuff going on already but a I conducted my own little jalapeño experiment with that taco as well and it worked. Son Connor deviated from his usual pork belly tacos and opted for the the quesadilla, which he reported was excellent. Carlos L took terrific care of us as was on-cadence with the drinks, water, chips, and salsa for our entire visit and kept us informed on food timing. Five stars for him. Superica is very busy around dinner time and for good reason. It would be really cool if guests were a little more self aware and didn't hang out for hours after finishing so the rest of us Superica lovers could get our turn. read more

A bad experience and probably won't be back: The whole Superica Battery dining experience has come to feel overpriced and "touristy." I have been going to this Superica location since when it was El Felix and it's just not the same. It was a Monday night and it was not a Braves game night but the wait was estimated to be "25-45 min" but is was every bit of 45+minutes that we were sent a text message apologizes for the delay. There were open tables so it's likely the restaurant was either short staffed or just did not plan for how busy it would be. While we waited, the bartender was not very attentive and the $10 margaritas were mostly ice and not that great in our opinion. I thankfully had a beer for $5. The decor is beautiful, the noise is lively (might be a little too loud for a large group), and the food is solid. Of course the famous steak fajitas (with melted butter) were delicious and my wife and I had plenty of steak and we had some left over, but the price for 1/2 lbs steak was $40 - which is more than it used to be. I realize that prices have gone up with inflation and there are labor shortages, but it's just not worth it for me. There are just too many other reasonably-priced restaurants that offer a far better value and experience. For what we spent on two drinks and shared fajitas and queso, we could've gone to a fine dining restaurants (Houston's) or much better value Mexican food (Nuevo Laredo) and had a much better dining and service experience. Perhaps I would eat here for an expensed business lunch or dinner for customers or clients, but - on my own dime - there are too many other places in Smyrna and in Atlanta. read more
