Sushi x Sake Sushi Blues is a great introduction to eating sushi for newcomers. Their BOGO sushi allows for customers to try different sushi rolls without having to break the bank. In my opinion this is a perfect place for date night in Raleigh, NC My wife and I tend to always sit in the bar area at one of the booths. Great outdoor patio seating for nice days. *The patio does fill up pretty quickly on warm days.

My sushi was so good and flavorful. I'm very picky about my sushi and this was delicious. I really loved the deep fried shrimp topping. We sat outside, b/c the weather was beautiful and the servers were awesome. They were very nice, attentive and very patient while dealing with my indecisiveness because I love sushi and I would have the whole menu if I could. I also love the fact that they were able to customize my sushi to my liking. I also had a margarita, which was ok It could've been a little bit stronger. Overall, nice outdoor seating b/c you can view the strip of interesting things while enjoying your food at the same time. Dinner and a show!!

Was staying up the street on Glenwood at the AC hotel and it was a five minute walk to Sushi Blues. Immediately the host walked us to our table. Everyone in the building has great energy. The server gave great recommendations and remembered the dairy allergy from the first sushi order. I'm a big fan of seaweed salad and this was like most, crunchy and long spirals of seaweed. Keep in mind the BOGO sushi is everyday so it's a must!

I was really looking forward to my visit to Sushi Blues Cafe, but unfortunately, it didn't quite meet my expectations. I started with the Applesauce Martini, which was delicious--definitely the highlight of my meal. For my food, I ordered the BOGO deal with the Sweet Home Alabama roll and the Galefinakis roll. Sadly, the rolls were disappointing. The rice was gummy, and neither roll tasted fresh, which made it hard to enjoy. The ginger had such a strange flavor that I couldn't eat it; I actually had to spit it out into my napkin.

This was my first time and definitely not my last! The food was so good and the service was even better. Store and bathroom nice and clean. Parking only on side of street. So if you can't parallel park you are out of luck.....unless there was something I didn't see.

Standard American sushi fare. This restaurant is a local favorite. I have to say, the location really helps this place out. The food is ok, but the staff is pretty friendly and attentive. Overall, a decent place to get a quick sushi fix before heading out for the night.

Great tastes at a great price with their BOGO deals :) I've been here about 4x in 2 weeks. Great variety of sushi to choose from as well and I personally recommend the TJ Warren roll. Service could be better; there have been times I found myself wondering where our server disappeared off to.

I've been coming here for years. I have recently noticed that the crowd is slowly getting lighter. The menu has changed. The restaurant is always clean. The staff is always great. This time, along with when I went about 1-2 months ago, they didn't have the white sauce (yum yum sauce/spicy Mayo, whatever you want to call it.) VERY DISAPPOINTING. I would not have ordered Sushi had I known BEFORE placing my order. The sushi wasn't good to us. Didn't seem the same, not as fresh. We normally love this place. Yesterday, not so much. I really wanted to send it back. The drinks were refreshing and the music was nice.

was excited to try this place but honestly the food was just so off. the edamame was pretty good, quite over salted and expensive for the amount. there were also varying prices of the same thing depending on where you looked on the menu. miso soup was just ok. but the sushi. god awful. something about it tasted so wrong. i couldn't have more than like four pieces of it. the rice tasted old and dried out and there were no sauces or anything that brought out any kind of flavor. i had to douse it in spicy mayo just to feel a little something. bogo is great but id rather pay $15 for one great roll than 2 below average ones. my stomach also felt horrible after eating here. service was great. our server was so kind and attentive but the food? hard pass.

Bogo deals were the best way to share and try more than usual. Sushi chefs were cranking them out fast! Great service too:)

great food & great price!!! The staff is amazing, and very attentive. BOGO rolls are a must :))

This is our favorite sushi restaurant! We love the edamame, and always get a large order. We rarely eat inside, we enjoy outside to see the happenings on Glenwood ave. They sushi is always bogo and they have a large variety. The service is always great and we never have complaints. I suggest you make a reservation on the weekends, because it stays busy.

Ask the Community - Sushi Blues Cafe

Can you come with a friend and order the buy one get one deal with a split check? Can each person at the table for two do a buy one get one?

Hi! With the BOGO, rolls are charged for collectively rather than individually. When dining in with friends, I always recommend deciding on a price range. For the check, we can do a few things: We can do an even split, or calculate any other items…

The also has all the side condiments you would want to go with your pho which is hard to find around here. The service was also amazing, they sat us down quickly, took our orders almost right away, and the food came out in about 10-15 minutes. The restaurant itself was well decorated, bright, and clean. It photographs beautifully. Unfortunately, restaurants aren't judged on lighting. We ordered everything upfront: Banh Xeo (explicitly no shrimp due to a shellfish allergy), Cha Gio, Pho Tai, and the Chef Special. Somehow, not everything was entered correctly. The Banh Xeo arrived covered in shrimp. Allergy clearly stated. It was sent back immediately. We were told they could remake it, but it would "take a while because it takes a long time to make." Banh Xeo takes under 10 minutes in a properly run kitchen. We declined and assumed the rest of our meal would arrive promptly. It didn't. The egg rolls weren't just fried, they were fully baptized in oil. One bite and it felt like chewing on a sponge that lost a fight with the fryer. Then we watched tables seated at least 15 minutes after us receive their food before we did. When we asked about the remainder of our order, we were told it had "just been added" and would take a while. Pho taking 35+ minutes in a Vietnamese restaurant isn't high volume. It's disorganization. The Chef Special was decent. The pho, which should be the backbone of the menu, was underwhelming. Several tables around us had incorrect orders or long delays. The owner circulated, but instead of urgency or accountability, the energy felt inconvenienced. Here's the reality: great atmosphere can draw people in once. Food and leadership bring them back. If you're going because it looks trendy and buzzing, go in with eyes open. The aesthetic might be the star of the room, but the food should be.

I ordered the lo mein, bamboo flounder fish, and a side of fried rice. Unfortunately, the lo mein was extremely greasy, the fried rice was overly salty, and the shrimp was hard, overcooked and not fresh. When I informed the waiter that I would not be eating the lo mein due to its condition, I was told that I would still have to pay for it and that it did not matter whether I liked it or not. He initially refused to remove the dish from my bill. After eventually taking it off, he told me that he never wanted to see my face again as I was leaving. What disappoints me most is that I genuinely enjoyed this restaurant and had been a repeat customer. The decline in food quality combined with the way my concerns were handled has left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

This is a 5-star restaurant, but not in a formal, special-occasion sense. It's a more approachable kind of 5: thoughtful, well-executed, and genuinely enjoyable. The kind of place you can go for a relaxed dinner or to host friends from out of town, and still feel confident in the quality of the experience. I went with my husband and a family friend who was visiting, and it was a great setting for catching up. The ambiance strikes a nice balance between polished and comfortable. I especially liked the rich blue tones inside and the overhead lanterns, which give the space a warm, inviting feel. There's also a outdoor patio, though at 96 degrees, we opted to sit inside. I'll admit I didn't do a great job capturing photos, but everything we ordered was excellent. We started with samosas, veg pakora, and beet cutlets (which my husband hadn't had since moving to the U.S. for grad school over a decade ago). We also ordered a mango lassi, the bread basket, malai kofta, balti chicken, and lamb biryani. A few highlights: Portions are generous The spice levels are accurate "medium" and "medium hot" both had a noticeable level of heat, which isn't always the case locally The lamb biryani stood out (my husband said it's the best biriyani he's had in North Carolina) Service was also great. The owner stopped by our table multiple times and was warm and engaging. She even shared how to make a strawberry lassi with our friend, which was a thoughtful touch. One practical note: the restaurant is downtown, and there's a surface parking lot directly next to it that uses ParkMobile, which makes parking straightforward. We're already planning to return.

I was thrilled that most of the menu was available. They were just out of the banana pudding. So I got to try the pecan wings I read about with the white sauce. It was so good. Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh. The salad was made correctly, and the dressing was included. The salad was full of veggies, and the cake was rich and moist. Service was friendly and as soon as I finished my iced tea, another appeared. My wings were brought out first and it was a while for the rest of the meal as the restaurant was full. But they didn't rush me at all. I actually liked the space between the dishes, as I might not have been able to eat it all otherwise. I couldn't finish both biscuits and was even provided a container for the honey. I am going to miss Beasley's, but I'm glad I got a positive experience to remember the restaurant.
