I've eaten here for AYCE once and the quality is up there. The service is fast, staff are friendly. Lately I have been ordering from them to go because they are running a 50% off special on certain rolls. I get their spicy scallop and their tuna/salmon combo. Other items are available too. Should give them a try if you're craving sushi but do not want all you can eat. Good experience so far and I haven't had any items missing. read more

I previously rated Sushi Damu 5 stars, but after a recent visit, I'm updating this to 1 star. We were seated at 7:35 PM and placed our first order at 7:41 PM. By 8:08 PM, we had only received two appetizers, so we followed up with our server, Amy. She said she had just told the sushi chefs to start our order and gave a brief apology, but didn't explain the delay. Nigiri arrived at 8:11 PM, and three rolls followed at 8:26 PM. Expecting long wait times, we placed a second nigiri order early, which arrived at 8:37 PM. However, our first round was never completed--we never received the baked roll we originally ordered. After waiting over an hour, we asked for the check at 8:53 PM. The long delays created a frustrating atmosphere that really took away from the overall dining experience. The experience was made worse when the manager, DJ, made a joking but inappropriate comment about us being "done after one round," not realizing we had already spent nearly an hour waiting. With a 120-minute dining limit, half our time was spent waiting without receiving our full order. This experience was extremely disappointing and not worth the $100 we spent. I would not recommend this location based on this visit. read more

Horrible experience. Waiter took forever to take my order brought back the incorrect sushi twice. Ordered appetizers and they did not come. Asked for them to be removed. Her feedback was well you don't get charged for it anyways. Table with sticky covered in soy sauce when I sat down when I asked for extra napkins, took her 10 minutes to bring them. Quality of fish is top notch, but the quality of service and staff is unlike any other. Our server, Brian, has given us the utmost polite mannerisms I have ever experienced. My time at sushi damu was already at its peak, but being served by Brian was over the top. Brian would always recommend me the most popular and underrated sushi. I had been convinced of every word that was spoken because of how passionate he is for sushi damu. From the takoyaki to the smoked salmon, i was enthralled. My life had changed ever since. Do not order to go from here on weekends. We ordered 1 of the small roll platters and 1 separate roll with an estimated pickup time of 7 pm. Got there early at 6:45 and the girl said they were backed up by 20 min so to come back at 7:15. Waited in my car and went back at 7:15 to be told that the new time was now 8 pm. Asked to cancel my order because I wasn't going to wait that long for my order. Waited there for another 20 minutes before they were able to void the order and another 10 minutes to get a receipt. A few years ago we came by on a Friday night and the wait was two hours + This time around, we came for lunch @ 11:00am. Highly recommend, there was no wait and food came fast. Meal started out with a little amuse-buche. Our server Amanda was friendly and efficient. As our sign changed from green to red she was on it. Our table was never empty and our bellies filled quickly. Insane value with protein rolls. Ingenious idea to offer rolls without rice and focus on the fish and veggies. I'm keeping this real. First time I went in 2022, it was fire. I ordered one of the bigger plates, around 70 dollars, and everything tasted fresh and high quality. Presentation was clean. Fish tasted right. That visit alone had me thinking this was a top tier sushi spot. Last year though, different experience. I went close to closing and whatever I ate had my stomach messed up for almost two weeks. That's not a small issue. With sushi, freshness is everything. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because it was near closing time, maybe something had been sitting too long. But still, that can't happen. On top of that, even the free water tasted a little weird. And if they ever see this, I'd honestly tell them to please clean the ice machine more often. Ice machines are one of the scariest things at restaurants if they're not maintained properly. That's small details, but small details matter. So I'm not giving them zero stars because I've had a great experience there before. I know they're capable of doing it right. Right now they sit at about three stars for me. The potential is there. I might give them another chance during peak hours when everything is moving fresh. But when it comes to raw fish and cleanliness, consistency isn't optional. read more

My boyfriend loves this place because of the all you can eat choice and now we drive a while's worth to come here for that. I also like the ayce and their Yoshi Roll. I am guilty of getting a lot from their Izakaya (appetizer) menu throughout our stay because of the ayce (and they are good). Servers are great. They are usually waiting or attentive to notice when someone has their attention card flipped. Our server Matthew was pleasant and easy to talk to. Good music. Someone skipped a d4vd which was very good lol. We loved it. First time coming here after apartment hunting. We did the all you can eat, which let's face it, most all you can eat places, you cannot expect the sushi to be amazing. It's usually sub-par. This was not at all. We always go for the premium and stick to nigiri, no rolls. We do like some starters beforehand, their seaweed salad was good, the cucumber salad was fresh and crispy, and the takoyaki were so delicious. They also had fresh/picked (real) wasabi, which is a must order. If you only eat that green pasty stuff made with water, just stop - try the real stuff, you won't regret it. The service was excellent. I love that each table has a stand you flip around for when you want to stop or order more. They are very attentive and came quickly. Ambiance is inviting and intimate, and they play some house music while eating so the vibes are chill. One thing to note, is they can get busy and the parking is limited. We opted this time not to spend extra on items like toro or uni, which we love, but the premium sushi was about $60 per person. It does cost more than your typical AYCE sushi places and I was surprised to find that the premium items I mentioned were not included, not even 1 piece, but the quality of what is included makes up for that. There is not a single thing we ate that seemed off colour or texture (which you can see if the fish has been frozen). Cuts were neat and tidy. Attached pictures of the nigiri we ordered. While everything was delicious, we really loved the Japanese scallop and the mackerel. The selection of nigiri also seemed smaller than other places, but again, quality of the fish was premium - even a predictably chewy and boring item like octopus was good here and not rubber like in most places. For those that like different appetizers (there is a big selection), something cooked, or eat rolls, there is something here for everyone. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. HORRIBLE SERVICE AND HORRIBLE FOOD. went here for mother's day. Yakitori big thick cut pieces of meat make it dry & chewy. Sashimi was also cut thick which made eating it unpleasant. We ordered our first round & they did not even bring everything out on time. The servers don't even bother to ask if everything was okay or if how we are doing with all of our food. At $60 a person & they tried to charge my kid at $5 when shes 3 years old. This place is not worth the price. Never going back. Save your money and find better option else where. read more
