I hesitate to give this restaurant five stars (see below), but I did anyway because (1) the sushi truly is awesome, and (2) the service is impeccable. I went with the 12 piece toku-jo sushi, which is essentially the chef's selection of their best offerings. The assortment was so creative and eclectic. I have been eating sushi for years, and there were some pieces I didn't recognize. But everything was downright delicious and so fresh, including one of the most yummy fatty pieces of otoro I have ever had! The staff are so sweet and attentive. There were several ladies who seemed to be sharing hostess and server duties. All were so kind and struck the perfect balance between ensuring everything with the experience was perfect, but not being too overbearing or obtrusive. One of the sushi chefs even came out to personally deliver a dish to the table next to me, and she made a quick stop to ask me if I was enjoying her creations. The downsides. I was by myself and arrived just after opening at about 5:20pm. The place was totally empty except for one single table. I didn't have a reservation, and the hostess was really agonizing about seating me. I was by myself and the place was empty! She even had to go in back and presumably speak with the manager or the chefs to get approval to seat me, which she finally did. But by the time I departed at about 6:15pm, only one other table had arrived and seated! I just find stuff like that annoying. But I guess they take their reservation policy seriously, so just call ahead, especially if you are a group. It appears they are closing soon for renovations. I sure hope that includes upgrading their air conditioning. Granted I visited on a 113 degree day, but the A/C system was not keeping up. I was sweating at my table, and actually accelerated my eating so I could leave and get back into he comfort of the cold AC of my car. It was that hot in there. A Las Vegas restaurant MUST be prepared to provide a comfortable environment on even the hottest of days. But all-in-all I recommend this spot, and I will be back, **with** a reservation and on a **cooler** day!! read more

I thought I give them a try. It's located in the Charleston Market Place. Prior to arrival, I had called to make a reservation for party of 1. The lady on the other end of the phone call was very nice. Upon entry, I was greeted right away. Thank you! It's a small, but comfortable and clean restaurant. Decor was simple. There were about 5 tables plus seats at the sushi bar. Restrooms are in the back of the restaurant... they were very clean. My server, Yayoi, was super friendly and very hospitable. She made sure my dining experience was exceptional and it was! Thank you Yayoi for your excellent service and our wonderful conversation! I started my dinner with Kaiso Salad (salad that contains seaweed), Premium Sashimi49 (over 25 pieces of fish and other seafood), and Iced Green Tea. I slowly added on a few sushi... Bigfin Reef Squid, Yaki Harasu Nigiri (salmon belly), Unagi Nigiri (fresh water eel), and Botan Ebi (shrimp) in sashimi style (2 pieces each order). Tucked in an unsuspecting shopping center off the strip in the heart of Vegas is where you'll find this hidden gem. The servers were so kind and attentive. We were immediately seated at the sushi bar and greeted by the sushi chefs behind the counter. The ambiance itself is very intimate and quaint with dim lighting and light wooden panels accented throughout the restaurant. We ordered a variety of nigiri and appetizer options all of which were incredibly delicious. The uni tempura was so different, the tempura gave a nice crunch, and the integrity of the uni was nicely in-tact with every bite. The five kinds of mushrooms were so delightfully meaty and savory, while the black cod melted in our mouths with such a light miso forward taste. All the seafood we had was so fresh and seasoned to perfection. Nothing tasted overpowering in the slightest. None of the nigiri's we got were bad in any sense of the word - it really just comes down to individual preference. With that being said my *personal* favorites of the nigiri had to be the golden eye snapper, both types of uni were amazing I just simply couldn't choose one, ocean trout, and fattiest o-toro tuna options were to die for. My fiancé and I are absolutely delighted to find our new go-to sushi restaurant. More than happy to make the long-distance trek across town to get our fix for the foreseeable future. Nice hidden gem located on Charleston and Jones! Everything in the menu looks fantastic and authentic Japanese with more fresh fish offerings in lieu of rolls. This place offers a delightful 7 course Omakase for $120. You won't see it on the menu. This place is small, but easy to get reservations. The server was very friendly and very knowledgeable when we had questions with the menu. All dishes included with the Omakase were flavorful. Some dishes were shareable, and some served for each individual. One of my favorite dishes was the huge shareable sashimi bowl. Beautifully presented with a great array of various high quality fish. My least favorite part of the Omakase with the butterflied sweet shrimp because it did not have much meat to it. Dessert was a small slice of Japanese cheesecake with green tea ice cream. I've had green tea ice cream at many sushi places, but the green tea ice cream here is one of the best. Omakase was portioned well, and we all left and felt satisfied and satieted. I stepped outside to search for another place but before I got a chance to start my search, a waitress came out and told me to come in and they would set up a table for me. Was really hoping I would love this place based off of the other reviews. Came in and was so sure I was about to have the best sushi in Vegas. Small hole in the wall ambiance, clean and homey feeling. Service was very nice and came by frequently to check up on us. Unfortunately, I just don't think the sushi lives up to the hype at all. Edamame & miso were good, I liked how they offered both red and white miso soups. We had the tojuko sets. Sushi wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't the freshest or the most flavorful. There wasn't much variance in taste and was pretty nondescript. These sets were hyped up on Yelp and for 40-50 dollars apiece, I just expected more than a typical nigiri set at any sushi restaurant. read more

Made last minute reservations same day for 2. Been coming to Vegas forever but only discovering this place now. It's a small place, not for large parties. You can watch the 2 sushi chefs making all the fresh sushi at the bar seats. This will be a regular place for us when we are here. It's off the strip and the prices are so reasonable. I would come here twice in a trip but we don't have a car. I tried the 15 plate. I really didn't pay attention to what they all were but they were all so good. My husband made his own tasting plate and enjoyed some so much that he did second orders. My favorites were the scallop- hotate and the botan ebi. I got second orders of those. The black cod came out after we finished our sushi which was a little weird since it is an appetizer. It was good but could have a little more miso flavor. I'm not one that's easily swayed by other's opinions - I will try a place if somebody recommends it but what happens after is based on my own experience. The hostess asked us if we had a reservation which of course we didn't. But they had seating at the bar available. Sometimes, it's more fun to sit at the bar especially for sushi restaurants. You get to watch the sushi chefs prepare your food and you get your food quicker if it's sushi. We tried different kinds of nigiri: Chutoro Otoro Sake (salmon) Yaki Harasu (seared fatty salmon) Botan Ebi (fresh spot prawn) Snow Crab Uni Dashimaki Tamago We also tried a Soft shell Crab Maki (roll) which comes with a ponzu dipping sauce. The quality of the fish is really good. Good fish-to-rice ratio. The nigiri is already brushed with soy sauce and has a nice schmear of wasabi under the fish so, there's no need for more soy sauce. You want to be able to taste the fish and not just the saltiness of the soy sauce. Oishi! The restaurant is small and only has a few tables. Our friend from LA introduced us here and we have been coming to this spot ever since. This restaurant is my go-to for some good sushi in Vegas. We always bring our out-of-town fam and friends here and it never disappoints. My last 3 visits here, I got the 15 piece Toku-Jo Sushi. The pieces you get are prime and always so delicious - including, uni, ikura, tamago, and toro. The service is straightforward and great, and you can also see the sushi chefs (who are really friendly) doing their magic at the sushi bar. I've tried the following appetizers (tempura, uni tempura, grilled cod, five kinds of mushroom, seared Scottish salmon sashimi salad) and it was all delicious - so pick whatever sounds good to you, I don't think you can go wrong here. Parking is easy and plenty, and location is pretty unassuming, but so worth the drive if you're coming from far. You definitely need to make reservations here, and they have a set time of when you can call, so make sure you check on their website. The restaurant is pretty small and intimate, and the ambiance is def clean, quiet with Japanese flair. I have yet to sit at the sushi bar, due to the size of my party, but that is my goal for a future visit. read more

We came here last minute after deciding that joes seafood would be too heavy for us. Luckily they had a table ready for us at opening. We were so kindly greeted us to a table. From what appears to be expensive meal, we reviews the menu and the prices was pretty reasonably good. Santa Barbara uni usually goes for $18 and here is $13 not bad for an authentic restaurant - we had the jewel box, and side order or Toro, toro roll, and a flash roll. All was perfect for two. The best part about our visit was that they have a variety of fishes that many places do not have, even in Japan. My favorite sushi pieces were the kamashita (fatty tuna collar), anago (even better than when I had them in Japan), baby seabream, and nodoguro (blackthroat sea perch). I also ordered the 15 piece nigiri platter. Some other stand out pieces apart of that were the salmon, hotate, and sweet shrimp. I first came in 2015. I have had omakase a couple of times and came in for a la carte menu as well. I always enjoyed my dinner here. Jan 2023 is my first visit back since 2020 right before pandemic. We randomly walked in at 5pm on a CES week in hope for a table. The restaurant was very accommodating and let us walked in without reservation. We were given an hour and half for the table and couldn't order omakase, which is very understandable and reasonable. Service was attentive and food came out fast. My favorite of the night was premium sashimi plate. Everything was so fresh on the plate. My favorite was the scallops and flounder. O toro of course was great! They all are pretty good tbh. We also ordered some nigiris. Nigiris rice/fish ratio was just right. Th cooked appetizer such as seared scallops and miso cod didn't weren't as memorable. I was informed that omakase is now offer at $120 per person. I think it's very reasonable compared to some other places in town that raised their prices to $300-$500. If it's your first time, I recommend you try the omakase to get the full experience. Definitely make a reservation ahead. It's a very small place. They currently haven't opened the sushi bar area since pandemic. If you are looking to sit in front of the sushi chef, might need to wait or go elsewhere. read more

Well, let's just say Vegas surprised me again with this find. We are way off the strip and craving for some sushi, and just happened to stumble onto this place. It's in another unassuming strip mall, and actually quite dark and almost hard to find except for the "Sushi" flourescent sign. We were the last party they took in as it was 9pm and last service is 9:30. Nevertheless, the service was top-notched. Our servers were attentive and made sure we are happy. And as the pictures shown, the food did not disappoint. The Hokkaido uni was oh so good. And the Hokkaido scallop as well. There are a wide breadth of fish selection to choose from and all were very fresh tasting and delectable. If you happen to be in Summerlin area, this is def the place to go. 4.5 stars We chose our own fishes. The highlight was definitely the different types of toro they had that day. Each and every one of those toro pieces were melt in your mouth delicious. The other fish were pretty good too. You could also do chef's choice which would've been cheaper than what we ended up getting for the same amount of pieces although we did select quite a few premium pieces. We also ordered both the Japanese uni and Santa Barbara uni. Both were also yummy.
