Yeah I'm not sure what others see in this place. We were the only ones there and felt like it took forever to get our food. We ordered yellow tail sashimi, yellow tail and tuna nigiri, and some other roll. The sashimi came out first and it was ok. not super fresh and not bad, but the pieces were on the smaller side imo. Then it was like another 10 mins before we got the yellow tail and tuna nigiri. Like why couldn't they just cut the yellow tail all at the same time? and then cut 4 pieces of tuna and be done. Anyways, the tuna was terrible. I couldn't eat it. My wife ate it but it was the worst tuna and she agreed it wasn't good. Then they took another 10 mins or so for the roll. and it came with a salad and poke. Never ordered a roll and got a salad with it but we didn't want the salad and was just not impressed. The rice also was hard and didn't seem fresh. They were nice and all but being the only ones there and waiting 30 mins to get a few simple things and then it not tasting that great really made me wish we skipped this place. read more

I don't understand the 5 star reviews. I went today for lunch with my friend. Online I looked at their extensive menu and lot's of choices. We got there when it opened. We were the only ones. I ordered an ice tea and my friend ordered just water. We were given just a little lunch menu. I asked for the regular menu, Not what I saw online. It was limited. The ice tea came in a takeout paper cup, that was strange. I ordered edamame and the lunch sushi. My friend ordered the avacado roll. The edamame was Luke warm, 2 pieces of my sushi were so tough I couldn't eat it. My friend liked the avacado roll. Needless to say, I won't be coming back. read more

I drive by here on my way home daily from work. I read it was a little pricey but honestly if it's fresh raw fish in Arizona it's gonna be pricey and ... you get what you pay for. This place does NOT disappoint! Fresh AND delicious . The wait staff was friendly, the place was clean, the background music was good and the sushi was fantastic! Pictures are worth a thousand words... yes, it was a little more than most places but well worth it. The rolls were huge and fresh. Restroom is extremely clean and the toilet is very fancy. 5/5 Service: The server was polite (as far as I could tell) and was swift the service. Very nice. Food: Takoyaki was good. The flavour was not too strong of octopus. The sauces perfectly balanced, with the creamy mayo and tako sauce providing umami notes. 3/4 I only tried the carrot tempura, but the batter was good. Nice and fluffy, but slightly oily. Good texture. 2.5/4 (I'm not a huge tempura fan) Yellowfin tuna has a medium fishy flavour with not much flavour on its own. You can taste the char and the sauce on the side provides the right amount of saltiness. 2/4 The tonkotsu broth has a good umami flavour and Is very warming. I prefer soft-boiled eggs over hard-boiled, but I could have asked. The chashu (pork belly) could have used a little more fat rendering, but overall very nice. 3/4 The scallops were good. Relatively big and perfectly cooked. Fried rice was a little underwhelming, but not too surprising. 3/4 Overall very nice. 28.5/30=.78 read more

Overall great spot, nice atmosphere, well laid out. A few large flat screen TV's on the walls, a good mix of high tops, low tops and a few booths as well. Well lit and clean too. Service was great, very attentive and courteous. Fairly sizable Happy Hour menu with all types of offerings and I think our beers were on that as well. Your typical sushi menu rolls, nothing extravagant but good, solid offerings. We had two different rolls and then we ordered a bunch of sashimi (Salmon, Maguro and Yellowtail) the rolls were good, the sashimi was GREAT! The fresh wasabi that came with it was a nice touch, normally you have to ask for that and the fact that they just bring it was nice. Will be back for sure. read more

My husband is a regular here with his flexible schedule. I work over 30 miles from here, so I am not a regular. On Sunday, we came in at 1pm just as it opened to order some to-go food. Wow did it get expensive since I was here last! Age dashi tofu at 9.99? It doesn't come with anything but fried tofu and dashi(sauce). And chicken teriyaki, although very pretty and tasty, $13 without any rice or soup? Maybe we had to say we wanted rice with it? We order at the counter and the to go stuff was all in styrofoam containers. The restaurant felt like fast food and had way too much perfume smell and a day-time drama on the TV. I waited for 30 min for my order. A guy who ordered after us got his food 15 min before we got ours. When I got the food, I asked for a couple of forks. I said thank you and left. There was really no good feeling as I left the establishment. Their pricing is more appropriate for a full service restaurant. I could really have made everything that I got within 30min from scratch at home. And for a fraction of the cost. People do restaurant take out for convenience and time saving. This is a great place, starting with cleanliness when you walk in, greeted quickly by a friendly face (Mia). Very nice selection and an excellent presentation. They have a lunch menu but all the prices are pretty comparable to other sushi restaurants. The difference here is the portion size! You just get more, plain and simple. The spicy tuna had chunks of tuna throughout. The included salad was made from romaine not iceberg like other places serve. Three miso soup was average. Service was fast and friendly. You order at counter and your meal is delivered to your table. Patio seating is available in back. They have beer and saki. Coke products are available, even Mexican coke. Yeah!
