Okay so we have mixed reviews here in the car.... I say it was a 4 star cause nothing was wrong but nothing stood out, and the other 2 give it a 3.5 pushing 4. I don't usually go to this area but was planning to stop by the forum which is less than 10 minutes away so I thought I'd stop by for lunch. service: excellent. the waiters are all so sweet and would stop by periodically to check if we needed anything. my water was never close to empty. atmosphere: nicely dim and has a really intimate/provate setting. though I thought it looked a lot bigger from the outside, there was still plenty of seating. I feel like it can get pretty crowded but I went during lunch hour on a Friday and was seated right away. food: I got the Shokado Bento and it was delicious. they are very generous with their Bento boxes which is a huge plus. the tempura was nicely fried without being soggy and the grilled fish was very flavorful. the sashimi tasted really fresh which made me happy^_^ I'll probably try the lady's lunch the next time I'm there since I see such good reviews on it(: overall, they exceeded my expectations so I'll definitely come back and I will recommend it to people I know. read more

Came here during lunch because no reservations required during lunch hour, but only for dinner that you need to RSVP. I wanted to try authentic Japanese cuisine. I order the Nigiri 10 pics and my daughter order the Nigiri 8 pics both order come with soup and salad. Waiter was very attentive. He brought us our salad and soup and told us to be careful soup is hot. The soup was warm on the almost cold side and the salad was ok, ginger dressing seem a little water down. But anyways he brought us our Nigiri it was good and fish was fresh almost melt in your mouth delicious!! We also order sushi roll and the presentation was nice and the rolls was tasty. Restaurant is located in a shopping center, almost like an hidden gem. I didn't even know it was there till my friend pointed out. We had a group of 12 and went there 25 minutes before closing and they accepted us. Yay! It's a Korean owned Japanese restaurant with variety of dishes. They are known for their ramens and my friend confirmed that they are delicious. I ordered tako yaki as I always do in any Japanese restaurant. Tako yaki was good, it's hard to screw up this popular dish. It's a ball made of minced radish with octopus in the center and topped with type of teriyaki and mayo sauce. I also ordered sweet potatoes in sweet syrup. This dish was disappointing. Sweet potatoes were not cooked through and syrup wasn't sweet enough. I think it's because they rushed it since they were closing. Lastly, I ordered tempura Udon. I like it that they separate the 2 tempura shrimps and couple vegetables on the side. I love the lunch specials, Ladies Lunch! It came with grilled mackerel, chirashi don, chawanmushi (silky smooth savory egg custard), fried tofu and one more side dish. The grilled mackerel, saba, was the best I've ever tried. The bento box of chicken teriyaki and tempura was so good as well. The wait staff was so kind and attentive. DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE - I set out to purchase a gift card for a regular at Sushi Mito who is a client, I called and emailed with NO response to my emails and nothing but excuses that they receive too many emails to answer. I am in CA and have a client that loves this establishment. I was told I needed to walk in to purchase a gift card. AGAIN I am in CA. Tough to do. Why don't I come here more? I just love the relaxing and attentive environment at this Japanese restaurant. The menu is huge! Whatever craving you have is certainly available. Today I'm here at lunchtime and I ordered the Ladies' Lunch special. I have eyed this item over the years and thoroughly enjoyed it. Fresh and simple miso soup and salad to start, then a large box with chawanmushi (a custard with bits of mushroom and things), agedashi tofu and sashimi on sushi rice -- all of which were great. How can I live in Norcross all these years and not know about Sushi Mito? Okay, okay, that part of Norcross is now called Peachtree Corners but I used to work over on that side for several years. I have to admit that I'm being more open minded to trying more Japanese cuisine. Most people know me that I was not a big sushi fan. I think I just had bad sushi or my taste buds have changed. So did I really think that Japanese cuisine was sushi and hibachi? Basically, yeah. What got me wanting to try Sushi Mito tonight is not only the weather but it has soba! I was Googling healthier noodles to eat and soba came up. I already love udon so wanted to try soba. Plus they have fresh ramen. I never had that. I've only had the instant ones. So I came on Yelp and typed of soba in Norcross, Sushi Mito came up. I saw that Daniel B & Ashley M have already given it good reviews so I thought I'll give it a try. Not going to lie but I didn't expect Sushi Mito to look so gorgeous inside. I was quite impress. I felt like I was in Japan. I love the decor. While walking in, the hostess asked if we wanted to sit at the booth, sushi bar, bar booth, or table. Wow, so many options. Just chose table. There was a TV playing football above the bar that attracted some customers. We got the menu and gosh, so many options!! I almost wanted to order one on every page but finally made a decision. Thank goodness for some of the pictures. Yakitori - grill chicken cooked to perfection. It was sooooo good, so tender and juicy in the middle. I had to look it up and try to duplicate the recipe. I have to learn how to make the tare sauce. Salmon crunch sushi roll - OMG, so good, you can tell it was freshly rolled cause it was coming apart! So flavorful, I don't have to use any dipping sauce at all. It just melted in my mouth. Miso Ramen - I've never had fresh ramen before and it won't be my last. I kinda feel bad for all the instant ramen noodles I have at home, I may have to give it away. Forgot that fresh ramen isn't squiggly and curly like in the packets. Miso soup is already good but having ramen thrown in it was an extra treat. Tempura Soba - So I mainly came here for this dish. Soba is good. I love the three tempura shrimp and several veggies that came with it, which added a special touch to the dish. The crunchiness blended well with the more subtle taste. Every dish that came out was presented very beautifully and in gorgeous tableware. I seriously haven't had a better experience in a long time. The staff is amazing. This place is located near the intersection of Spalding Drive and Holcomb Bridge Rd (near the Burger King). In bright, neon letters, it says SUSHI MOTI so I didn't find it THAT hard to miss. It's right across the street from some supermarket which for some reason I can't seem to recall... I'm not sure of what lunch "specials" they have, BUT I don't believe they have any for dinner...except for the 1/2 priced sake (cold) which was a monthly deal (I think). However, this place really does serve FRESH sushi for a decent price. Our bill came to be a little less than $75, but you can definitely keep it low if you try (my parents just don't seem to care?). Tuna tataki came out in 7 fresh (but thin) slices...came with (I think) ponzu sauce? Perfectly seared with red in the center...yet tasted pretty standard of tuna tataki. GET THE UDON. That was probably the best "bang for the buck." It was a medium size bowl that managed to feed both my parents and myself for only $7.80. If you want it spicy they give you this chili pepper shaker thing. Crispy spicy tuna roll was served smaller than the advertised picture but whatever. I liked the HAPPY roll the best, it was the biggest roll out of all of them. Don't waste your money on the dynamite roll. Super skimpy and super small. Spicy crunch salmon---couldn't even taste the salmon. Fried softshell appetizer was over fried and tasted like I was eating super fried french fries that were soooo deeply fried it had no taste left in it. DO get the mexican roll. If you like shrimp tempura I highly recommend this...yummy, crunchy, shrimpy goodness! SERVICE was exceptionally wonderful! It's a Saturday night and we literally just left there...my water was refilled plenty of times and the waitress kept coming back to see if we needed anything else without being TOO attentive. I've been on a sushi binge... yeah, that gets kinda expensive..., but I came to a curious realization I might dislike tuna given every place I've gotten it at, save a few, induces a gag reflex. Now, I know, that maybe it's just, straight up, not fresh. Mito's mighty maguro verdict? Faaa-resh! (At least this time around.) It did not induce gagging and had a nice subtle flavor of deliciousness. I normally even dislike using wasabi to a degree, but found the wasabi here palatable. We came with full desire to buy off the sushi menu, but wow at all of the izakaya items! The selection is impressive. I can't afford a lot of it, but I can indulge in enough without breaking my bank. Our table of four ended up with a tiny feast, mostly on one half as my side broke down a sashimi plate & mini bento with eel and plate of takoyaki. The takoyaki ranking some of the best to better in Atlanta that we've had. Sashimi platter- all fresh, all so good--- or at least the pieces I was allowed to have. Haha. The mini bento with eel- I got this for mostly the variety it served, and I couldn't choose as the menu had a lot of good options. The eel was a bit fattier, than the usual, but was delicious all the same. Maguro, hamachi, and salmon nigiri were good along with the small ebi, crab, and octopus side dish. The the majority of the bento was made up of a variety of tempura-- sweet potato, shrimp, broccoli, acorn squash, and eggplant. Takoyaki- Big crowd favorite.. we ordered 2 sets. Piping hot and fresh with a reasonable amount of bonito flake-age going on. At first, the mayo on the side was kinda an "oh? okay..." but after thinking about it, it's kinda nice they do that. Some people really hate mayo. Personally, I love it drizzled over it, but mayo aside, these are some pretty good little tako balls. The sushi menu actually was the least impressive thing, which is by no means bothering, because gimmicky rolls are only so-so in my book... I usually prefer the nigiri anyway. Mito has my vote on detail, flavor, presentation, freshness, and a comprehensive menu to boot. I'll definitely be back, maybe avoiding tempura and just loading up on that delicious izakaya menu. It seems the more I go, the bigger the slices of sushi get. :-D When I enter the door, I always greet the sushi chefs with a hearty "SUSHI MITO!", and get a loud "WASABI" in return. It's kind of like my Norm greeting from Cheers. The interior of the place is authentic Japanese with semi - private rooms off to one side and a sushi bar and tables on the other. There is a robust sake menu with many selections to choose from. The food menu is quite extensive and designed for the westerner; chock full of pictures and a category system where you can trace colored lines throughout that categorize items: Sushi Sets, Sashimi Sets, Chirashi, Donburi/Ju. What makes Sushi Mito such a pleasure is the artistry of presentation. There is a thoughtfulness and attention to detail in the construction of Sushi Mito's bountiful and elaborate rolls and sushi and sashimi platters. Though I typically stick to sushi, on this occasion because it was a cold November night, I went for a Nabeyaki Udon. Served piping hot in a black cast iron kettle, it provided a comforting meal. Within the complex dashi broth strategically lay a large tempura shrimp, a bit of chicken, some veg, fish cake and a slow cooking egg all resting upon thick, meaty Udon noodles. I came here with a girlfriend last weekend to try something new. She had wanted sushi, and I had this place bookmarked so off we went. It was crowded, and we actually had a short waiting time to eat there, which I thought was a good sign. Our server was a former server at another restaurant in Johns Creek, and he recognized me. He took really good care of us. I have to say service was excellent! My friend and I started with miso soup and salad. I'm not a huge miso soup fan, but I will say their soup was very good. The salad was okay, more just the traditional ginger salad you can get anywhere. The menu was crazy extensive! They had sushi, noodles, izakaya, bento boxes, desserts. It was hard to decide what to order. My friend wanted a ginger cocktail, and the waiter made up something for her that she really liked. I ordered a glass of wine that was really good. Next came this tofu with some tuna, avocado, and onion in a special sauce. I don't know what it was called, but it was really good. For the meal, I chose an orange blossom roll, which was a salmon based sushi roll. The roll was very pretty, but the flavor was just okay. It may have just been what I chose, but it wasn't my favorite. I was pretty stuffed at that point, but we each got a small dessert. It tasted like tiramisu. My daughter had joined us mid-meal, and she loved the dessert as well. She also got some fizzy beverage that came in a small glass bottle. She loved it. Wow, I wasn't expecting this place to be as good as it is. Context: I went to another family friend's place in Midtown and didn't even write a review - the other place was just terrible. I don't want to make this a review since this is my friend's family's business. .but I am so glad this place exists, and actually will continue to come here, pretty sure they still don't know I've been here yet, lol. Ok, back to the food: - O-toro available, a little pricey but fresh and like butter (aka how it should be!); - Omg, the winter special is delicious, reminds me of the special sushi platter I had in Hawaii by the ocean, really flavorful, traditional with vegetables, earthy, aromatic mushrooms in a hearty broth with thinly sliced beef on top; - comes with a bowl of sushi and another small teapot of an even more delicious mushroom type dish with a clean crisp mushroom broth that you can drink like tea, it's my favorite of everything I've had there so far. The ice cream was azuki (red bean) or green tea, pretty much like it was scooped from a carton, but still good. Sake was good and hot, tea was good also. Wife and I happened to stop by here since it is close to our new house. We are very glad we did and have become fans. I've only really experienced the Sashimi through their monthly bento specials. If you like authentic Japanese cuisine, definitely try the various bento options they have. Price is somewhat higher here than say Shoya or Sushi Yoko, but they do not skimp on quality. The thing I like is that you have two dining options here, Izakaya style, where you order a bunch of small dishes to share, or you can order your own individual meal via Ramen, Bento, Donburi, etc. Menu's can be somewhat intimidating in their style (very Japanesey), but take your time and enjoy! o(^o^)o read more

Good sushi in a beautiful, quiet environment. The restaurant is decorated tastefully, with dark woods and pretty Asian accents. It definitely has a high-end look to it. I ordered 2 rolls and kind of enjoyed them, but they're not the greatest to be honest. Nothing stands out too much to me about them. The rolls were pretty large and the ingredients seem fresh though, so maybe their other sushi is better. However, the red bean ice cream was pretty good. It wasn't too sweet, as American ice cream tends to be. It was a nice end to my meal. My dad enjoyed his food--he got actual food, with rice and meat. His serving was quite big. The service was great. Our waitress checked in on us often, and was very knowledgable about the menu items. This is my new favorite japanese Izakaya restaurant! Although, its a bit of a long drive for me, its worth it. This place kind of has a romantic, intimate surrounding and couples were everywhere. The prices are also very reasonable. My boyfriend got the tonkatsu ramen. It was bland. Not comparable to Shoya or Unmaido, but sushi mito is not known for this. The small dishes were great! I got the tofu magro ae, takoyaki, seafood crispy noodle, & ebi fried. The tofu magro ae was a small portion, but delicious! I loved this. Takoyaki & the seafood crispy noodle was also quite delicious. By the time we finished our meal, the ebi fried never came out, so we canceled that. I donot blame the waitress though. It was busy and being a server is hard. I did not realize they had dessert! If I knew I would order something, but the waitress did not say anything. They have lunch specials and many other dishes (bento boxes) I would like to try like the lady's lunch box & etc. Overall, very authentic japanese place, which is what I like.
