Admittedly I am a regular. My wife and I usually try and go 1 or 2 times a month if not more. Prices are very reasonable. They have many fine offerings for everyone's tastes. They have traditional rolls, some spicy ones, and some creative ones. The fisherman is our favorite because we both like the fried garlic chips. But I have had just about all the other and they are just as good. The dining area is small. So, if they get slammed you may have to wait a bit. The whole staff has always been good. Karen and Danny, the ones making sushi, are very friendly. Just like the other posts about not wanting to tell the world about this place, I decided now is that time. Sush + Me = Happiness Sushi Plus is a new fave in Fountain Valley! This sushi joint has all the fan-favorite rolls, plus a variety of bento boxes and non-sushi items. I ordered the garlic edamame and their Baked Alaskan Roll (aka baked salmon roll) for dine-in. You'll have no problem eating your vegetables when they're topped with Sushi Plus' spicy garlic sauce! These were no-joke the best edamame I've ever tasted. Call me uncultured, but I doused my roll in spicy mayo and eel sauce. Fan-freaking-tastic. Super surprised I have never written a review for this place. This is a local hidden gem of amazing sushi and udon noodle dishes. I have been coming here for 8 years and I have never had a roll, sashimi or any dish that was semi ok. It's amazing!!!!!!! Huge sushi roll portions. You won't get skimped out I promise you that. Yellowtail HH $3.5 - 2 piece sushi with the fattest longest thickest slabs of fish i ever did see on a small little rice nub. I'm an average 5'7 maybe '8 on a great morning guy. It's two comfortable bites to eat one. I supposed i could shove it all in my mouth but that seems undignified. Lobster Roll HH $9 - let me clarify from the older menu photos, this is for a FULL roll. Crawfish baked on a cali roll with poppy roe, some eel mayo sayce, green onions. mah fav still. and totally untraditional sushi i know, whatever. Now as always it looks like there isn't enough crrawfish piled on, i assure you there's morris than enough per roll, and when theyy roll off when i grab a piece i restack 3-4 little sea buggers on top of each roll, yet when i fiinish the roll there's always a pile of crawfish left over. If anything id want the cali roll under it shrunk, cuz this roll is way too filling (or i'm just getting too old to endlessly eat). The presentation while photo friendly makes it hard to grab a piece without slicing the saucey cali roll base, so if you're not a chopstick veteran, bring a bib, rice is gonna drop in your lap. Parking is spacious in the dimly lit shared lot with other mini stores. I apologize for the weird extra spaces and typos. Iono why & only on yelp i get weird "autocorrections" and bonus spin blue letters (ok i was typing double and midway it autocorrects into spin blue, why whyyy). 1/18/20 update: Closing is 10pm. Yelp lists 11 still. Like many sushi places they last call about half an hour before close so don't show up 5 min to close and expect a full kitchen waiting for you. I've been coming to Sushi Plus for years and it's a consistent staple for whenever I crave sushi since its close to home. The servers remember your orders and are always so nice to ask you how you're doing and to make sure your experience is going well. As of right now they're only doing takeout due to COVID but they seem pretty busy which is good! They are taking standard precautions with masks, hand sanitizers and making sure their contact is very minimal. The sushi quality has been consistent over the years which is good. I love how there are so many different kinds of rolls so you can try a lot of rolls. Along with that their rolls are MASSIVE compared to other restaurants. So depending on how many rolls you order you may have leftovers. I love how they have weekly specials so make sure you check their board or ask them over the phone to see what they have in the restaurant. I recommend their baked mussels for an appetizer, the lobster roll, double rainbow roll and their chirashi bowl because they give a large selection of fish in the bowl. I can't believe I've never written a review of this place. Words can't even begin to describe how much I love Sushi Plus. Pre-COVID, I came here to eat at least once a week with my coworkers and I never got tired of it. That is the level of my Sushi Plus Dedication. My go-to order is the chirashi bowl. You get an insane amount of fish for the price you pay, and it's always so fresh. Whenever I get a chirashi bowl elsewhere, I'm always sad because it never compares (I mean, just LOOK at that photo).
