This place is absolutely phenomenal. One of those hidden gems. Beautifully prepared food, all the staff are very welcoming, and it feels like eating at a friend's every single time, be it dead and dreadfully dragging, or packed and stressful for the staff - these guys are great people. Quiet calm atmosphere with delicious Japanese food and amazing quality sushi, all at very affordable prices - especially the bento boxes. I've never had a single complaint the tons of times I've eaten here. They know my name by now lol. I can actually eat and finish my food without feeling bloated from the pressure of trying to finish my meal so it feels like I've eaten what I've paid for. I'm comfortably stuffed and my wallet still is as well. This is how I envision the ideal sushi restaurant in Washington. I live in Federal Way. I come up here JUST for this restaurant. Best sushi spot to come to in all of Seattle, heck even the US.......yes I said it. Only thing negative i would have to say about it is the size and location. It's in the corner of all the other shops and it is not the biggest sushi restaurant I've been to. Besides that, the establishment is very clean and well lit. Customer service is on point, very friendly staff and cooks, as one should always expect in a restaurant (but sadly not always get). First off, prices prices prices. The prices here are VERY reasonable for what you are getting, and the quality of the food excellent!! I've only ever ordered the vegetable tempura roll, because I do not eat meat/seafood. The price is $6.95 and that seems to be the average price (or less!) for most of the Maki rolls in that section of the menu. It is only 5 pieces of sushi, but the pieces are HUGE, so be prepared to open wide! Now the cooks are really great at what they do because the presentation of the plates are beautiful!! Looking at other pictures of other menu items makes my mouth water, even the food with seafood in it!! All of the fish on the sushi looks so fresh and vibrant, makes me want to eat some seafood when I stop by! If you stop by at lunch you will get a complimentary miso soup, that I could've passed on but still thought the gesture was very generous. I don't think I will ever come across a cute little sushi restaurant like this in a very long time that provides such quality food while still keeping prices very reasonable. Sushi was amazing! The unagi was very soft and buttery. The salmon pieces were so big loved it! Miso soup had barely any tofu and no seaweed at all. The service was great, walked right in and I was greeted and seated right away. The only reason why I gave 4 stars is because I found the menu to be unclear. When I was ordering the Bento box, it gives you the option to chose 2 from the selected items. If you wanted California rolls it's an additional .50, nigiri was an additional $2 and sashimi was $3 I believe. So I thought I'll have the Bento and add the couple bucks to get unagi on the side. Oh man. Where do I begin? Saw incredible ratings for this sushi joint so decided to swing by and give it a try. I ordered the Chirashi with Salmon only and my friend got the Sushi Deluxe. We came in and were seated immediately. Water was served and we were given a few minutes to review the menu. From first glance, I noticed a pretty large variety of food options from Nigiri, to Sashimi, to rolls. They also have the larger combination dishes - something for everyone!! When my Chirashi bowl came out, I was shocked by how many cuts of salmon they gave me. Pictures don't do it justice, but there was definitely a lot more than I expected. Fish was fresh and so delicious! Can't believe I didn't decide to come here sooner. My friend also loved her sushi deluxe and didn't have any complaints. I'll definitely be back! My experience was good. Didn't have the items I was craving but the items I ordered were delicious

I went to this restaurant 1-2 times a week for about 6 months, i'm a huge fan. I now visit about once every 2 months. I only ever eat sushi here, so I can't speak to the whole menu. I have three complaints and ultimately the reasons I don't really go anymore. 1) Execution on the food is inconsistent when its busy. When its not too busy, everything is perfection. Delicious carefully placed garnishes. The rolls/nigiri hold together even though the rice is not "packed", its airy and light. The wait staff are attentive to detail. But when its busy? Things slip. I had the experience of my sushi roll unrolling. No matter how I used my chopsticks, it just fell apart. You also get the opposite problem where the rice is so packed in that there's a gummy texture. The nigiri balls just "sink" to the bottom of your stomach. They forget garnishes (i'm a frequent eater, I know them all). Wait staff don't check up on you, which sucks when you're thirsty from packed rice. I recommend you slow down, make us wait longer. Perhaps consider staggering when the food comes out to which table instead of doing it all at once. 2) Your Sashimi/Nigiri menu is delicious and well executed (on slow days). But its limited. If you recognize who's writing this review, you'll remember that I order your entire menu of nigiri very regularly. Where's the ice fish? What about yellowtail toro? Why are you always out of Fluke? Where's the half shell oysters? So many options not presented. I am aware of the challenges of keeping these items in stock when you have a small restaurant. Perhaps this is an opportunity to "sell the special" -- Your tactic of writing it on the board is a highly ineffective way of selling your specials. I noticed the board only 4 months into my dining experience at your restaurant. 3) Your sushi rolls are not creative. Look at your entire sushi roll menu and you will notice that the majority of them have imitation crab salad as the filling. Yes I know that you also have spicy tuna salad and spicy salmon salad. But you know what all three have in common? They have zero texture. You need to expand your sushi roll creativity. Even the rolls on your menu that I like more, like the special agent, are wildly out-of-balance with all the toppings you give us. I am giving you three stars because you don't have a bad restaurant. I have given you enough business to prove that. But you also have a restaurant that's very easy to get bored of with your fake crab salad sushi rolls and struggles to keep up with the dinner rush. Oh and by the way, I love the new look! Even if my fat bottom doesn't love your chairs. I feel like i'm going to break them. read more

I stopped in again to my favorite sushi joint instead of ordering the same rolls (Sexy and Sounders Rolls which are delicious) I decided to get a Calamari Enchilada with no avocado and it is now my favorite Roll! It was so yummy, and highly recommend! The firecracker Roll was also very tasty but not as good as the Calamari. Lastly I ordered a spicy scallop hand roll, and the scallops were so fresh and yummy. This is my first time here and it won't be my last. I arrive around 1pm and the lunch rush seemed to be over. The waitress quickly bring me to my table and asked me what I would like to drink.
