Really great sushi for a ridiculously low price. 3 rolls for $9.99? Yeaaaaaah. Is it the best sushi? No, but it's good food for little money. I went here with my sister and we ordered 6 rolls - California, Spicy California, Firecracker, Louisiana, Shrimp Tempura and Spicy Tuna. They were all great especially for the price! And we were both full after. It's not overpowered with rice like most cheap sushi places do. This place is pretty legit for the price. I had this place twice. It's cool for average sushi. I ate the trio Louisiana, Philadelphia, and tempura roll. The Philadelphia salmon is cut interestingly... always have that one part you can't swallow due to the chewiness of it. Strange right?!? Louisiana is okay you can tell It's not Cooked to order hot out the grease. The tempura... same consistency as the fried crawling the Louisiana roll but the shrimp has to be a 31-40 cut in half. How do I know? I love seafood! The avocado is barely present in the roll either. The way the roll is prepared is very efficient! But over all flavor and protein to rice ratio is meh! read more

I love this place! This is my favorite place to get delicious, affordable sushi. It's tiny, so probably most of their business is take out. And after covid hit it's only take out (true as of Nov 2020). I've enjoyed eating here for a couple of years. Always fresh, always tasty. Okay...there are a lot of 5 star reviews of this place. There are two reasons for that...the food is good and cheap. And for that, they set 2 stars from me for each of those points. However, the parts that were too hard for me to get past were the cleanlinesses or lack there of and the space set up. Apparently they do a lot of delivery and pick up because there are only 4 tables total. As far as the cleanliness is concerned...I can get over some stuff, but after I had to kill a cockroach in the bathroom...and seeing how dirty the floors were, I was a little grossed out. Also I felt like I was in a gas station bathroom. At first I thought the tile on the floors was just naturally black and beige... and I thought that all the grout between the tiling was naturally jet black...but the parts that go up the wall clearly shows light colored grout and light colored tiles. Good portion for the price. All of the rolls, except for salmon and tuna, are cooked. Hubby and I shared the takoyaki appetizer, which included large pieces of octopus. "If it smells bad when we walk in, we're turning around and leaving." This is what I said to my lunch date as we pulled up to Sushi Town. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to trying unknown restaurants (seriously, this is why I rely on Yelp) and based on the few can't-quite-trust-them-yet reviews on Yelp, I was suspicious to say the least. Luckily for us, Sushi Town lived up to the early hype. The space is teeny tiny but very cute, consisting of a sushi counter with 5 or 6 chairs and a few tables. I get the feeling that the owners (the two sushi chefs?) are depending on a heavy to-go/catering business but we felt right at home occupying one of the tables for a very quick lunch. We jumped on the 3 rolls for $9.99 bandwagon (or 2 for $7.99, 1 for $4.99) and I added an order of edamame ($4.99) so we could have something to nibble on while our rolls were prepared. This ended up being an unnecessary appetizer since the two chefs worked together to serve our 6 rolls in lightning quick time. I ordered the Spider (fried shoft shell crab, crabmeat, avocado and cucumber), Las Vegas (deep fried salmon and cream cheese topped with sweet and town sauce) and Alaskan (California roll topped with salmon) rolls. They were fresh and very tasty. Is this the best sushi I've ever had? Nope. But it's the best sushi I've ever had for $10 and served up by the cutest sushi chefs I think I've ever seen, who tried very hard to make our experience a good one (right down to the complimentary coconut crème brulee for dessert). There are plenty of places around my office that serve sushi, expensive to not-very-expensive, restaurant to buffet. But it's still something that can only be enjoyed every so often. The good sushi is just too expensive to have very often and the affordable sushi is just too mediocre to be endured more than once a month or so. I'm so excited to have found a sushi place that fits my lunch budget and still provides good food. As I was eating lunch it occurred to me that I could call in a to-go order from work and pick it up on my way home for dinner. I was initially drawn to this location based on yelp reviews and the referrals from friends. I must say, my visit was quite disappointing. I didn't expect it to be overly grandiose or fancy, but I did expect it to be decent and well kept. The place is small, only big enough for 3 tables and some chairs. I really did miss eating my sushi with sake. The portions are small. Each roll has around 6 pieces, all of which could fit on the palm of my hand -- and I have small hands. The quality of the sushi is very much average. Granted it wasn't disgusting, but there was nothing I would crave for after enduring my long 1 hour lunch there. Its only appeal is its legendary 3 rolls for $10 lunch deal. I would not be surprised if that's how they stay in business. This is great for students on a budget or those wanting to grab a quick bite during lunch break.
