I really like the quality of the sushi here. I've ordered take out twice and eaten in once. I've only had the "Amazing Roll" with spicy tuna, salmon and lemon. It has been amazing all the time. The only issue is that the portions are small. Quality is good but usually I only need one roll to feel full but I would say I need 1.5 - 2 rolls from this place to feel full. I believe the owner is the gentleman behind the sushi bar who always seems to be in a great mood. I've had the red dragon roll, hit night roll, salmon carpaccio, tuna tataki and other rolls I forgot the names but they were all fresh and delicious! My only gripe is the carpaccio, they put too much of the sauce and it has too much onion. If they could tone it down a bit it would be perfect! I have been pretty satisfied with this place over the years but lately the fish hasn't been very good. Today I got some sashimi and the tuna tasted a bit metallic and odd. I noticed that the "noodle" filler underneath was pink, the tuna is clearly dyed. Super disappointed that this is the quality of fish they're purchasing and serving. Firstly, I tried calling twice to see if they were open and nobody answered. I decided to drive down there and check myself. Once I entered, the waitress told me to sit at any table. After 5 minutes of waiting, someone finally handed me a menu. Me and my partner were sitting there for 15 minutes and no one took our order, so WE WALKED OUT! I also noticed the kitchen chefs wearing "LA" hats and regular sneakers. This is a sanitary and safety issue. Of course I heard the phone ringing and nobody answered. So I guess it's normal for them to not answer their phone. Safe to say, I will not be coming back and will find cheaper sushi with better service. read more

The sushi chef are Korean though but they got a lot of Japanese decor lol and I hear Japanese words here and there from the staff lol It's 4 stars because the server didn't come back to check on us , I had to get their attention twice. Best Sushi in LA. This coming from someone who went to Japan and had the freshest sushi of my life, Sushi Yoko is right up there with it. The quality of fish is dramatically different than anywhere else we have been: even during covid having pick up or delivery the fish is still the best. Ambiance outside of covid was always fun, yes the restaurant space is small but it's more authentic Japanese if you ask me. Service? Never ever had an issue. I sit at the sushi bar where Jeff serves and is the best part of Sushi Yoko. He will drink sake with you, chat and remember who you are if you return. We get sushi here literally once a week. This was my second time here and I didn't think my experience could get any better than the first, but it definitely did. Our second time, we got 2 rainbow rolls, an Alaskan roll, and takoyaki. The takoyaki was a bit small, but came out scalding hot and delicious. It's the perfect appetizer. We came in for a late dinner, and they only had two pieces left so the owner gave us the takoyaki on the House. I cannot get over their rainbow roll!!! So fresh and perfectly made. They have this sauce that I was practically licking off the plate. Highly recommend it if you're a fan of fresh rolls. The service is great - they're quick and very polite. The owner is super friendly and cool - we saw him do sake bombs with some guests on their birthday. Arrived at 5:15 2 party in ahead of us, server was right on cue took our drink order and an appetizer (Cajun tuna) we received our drinks right away. He came back and took the test of our order salmon carpaccio, albacore sashimi, Spicy sashimi salad, baked crawfish roll and a playboy. New favorite place for sushi they have a spicy sashimi salad that is awesome all the sashimi appetizer are awesome and so far the 2 rolls we tried where on point will have to bring the rest of the family so we can try more but we will definitely be coming here often. 5 stars service was attentive but not over baring 5stars for the food if not more fresh and tasty. read more
