Great place for sushi. The sushi is fresh and price decently. The service is great. I've gone twice which happened to be on Valentine's Day. I couldn't have picked a better spot. The vibes were it! Everyone was taking sake shots. Definitely made me love the place even more. I got the omasake sushi. Sooo good and the presentation is so cutesy. Both times I've been I didn't have to wait and was seated right away. It's a cute little spot. Child friendly with high chairs. This spot is located in a shopping center with a lot of parking. Will definitely keep returning.

I came to Sushi Yoko on Rosecrans Ave, and wow--this place is nice. The ambiance hits just right: dark inside, AC cranked up, and you completely forget what the parking lot even looks like. It's friendly, it's fun, and the staff makes you feel comfortable from the jump. The food? Let's just say I almost forgot to take pictures because I dove right in. I ordered the 3-piece bento box, chicken teriyaki bowl, Thai coconut shrimp roll, and volcano roll. Those rolls? Packed with sexy flavor, just like my wife. The chicken katsu was fresh and crunchy, the chicken teriyaki was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The salmon? Oh, it was beautiful, moist, pink, and exactly how I like it. Nothing better than a hot pink center you can get your mouth on. The Thai coconut roll was unique and loaded with texture, sweet, creamy, a little crisp. The volcano roll brought the heat, spicy, savory, and seriously had a fat boy begging for more. The prices are absolutely worth it, and honestly, this is the best spot to eat in the plaza. Next time I'm in town, I'm heading straight here, no hesitation.

I went here with my mom last week. She said this was her favorite sushi restaurant. We were the only ones there. The waiter was super attentive and kind. Quick with water refills. The sushi was very fresh. The chef was also very kind and greeted us. I will definitely go back soon! Inside was nice and I enjoyed that even though we went for lunch it wasn't super bright. It created a nice relaxing ambiance.

Crunch Shrimp Tempura Roll, 3-Items Bento Box, Playboy Roll, B.S.C.R Roll

Ordered takeout here and was done right when it was supposed to be done and the food was fresh! The Playboy roll was our favorite, lots of flavor and yummy. We also got the BSCR roll, Crunch Shrimp Tempura Roll, and the 3 item Bento Box. The bento box was filled and definitely worth the price. Overall, great food and will be back to eat inside!

Our flight was canceled and we got meal vouchers from United. Min was so nice and understanding while he served us, food was out promptly and everything was so good. We got the awesome roll which was my favorite roll . I also got the BSCR roll which was really good. My husband got the hot night, awesome and volcano. He said hands down, we're making this our sushi spot now. Our kids got the shoyu ramen and they devoured it within minutes. The place is located in a shopping center and may be easy to miss but you definitely don't want to miss out on all the rolls this place is serving up!

This is my 2nd time visiting this spot. I wanted to give this spot another opportunity. It did not failed. Service and the authentic roll was perfect. The crab was delicious. I just wish it was a bit larger. Haha. The Black Dragon Roll was delicious too. I love rolls. (I had sushi last night at another spot). I wanted to try something different today. The chef is awesome! I suggest seating at the bar. Make the ambiance much greater. I love it!

9/1/24 This was our First visit today. We got the ex-boyfriend roll, the amazing roll, the crunchy shrimp tempura roll, and one large Sapporo to share. We loved all the food! The ex-boyfriend's roll without rice and using rice paper is pretty and delicious, but it's hard to eat because it's easy to fall apart. Very good first impression and we will be coming back!

I was craving sushi before the clippers game nearby and feel so lucky that I found this spot! I came on a Tuesday night around 5pm and only about 2 other tables were seated. The waiter gave us complimentary miso soup while we waited for the sushi to come out which was so nice! The meal was a 10/10 and we will definitely be coming back ‍

Tempura consisted of shrimp (2), onion, pumpkin, zucchini, bean, and bell pepper. The beef teriyaki was the star! Steak was so tender that you could cut it with a fork and was cooked perfectly!!! I always order the beef medium rare, and they consistently get the temperature right. That reliability honestly stands out to me because I have been to actual steak restaurants where the doneness can be hit or miss. At Azuma, I can confidently ask for medium rare and trust that it will come out exactly that way without having to order it rarer just to compensate. The teriyaki sauce is also really well balanced. It has enough sweetness to give you that classic teriyaki flavor without becoming overly sugary or masking the taste of the beef. One of my favorite parts of the meal is actually toward the end, when the white rice has soaked up both the teriyaki sauce and the savory juices from the steak. Mixing everything together makes even the remaining rice incredibly flavorful. The macaroni salad is another pleasant surprise. I'm normally not much of a macaroni salad person, but theirs is one I actually enjoy and willingly finish. Add a little of the teriyaki sauce to it and it gets even better. The shrimp fried rice is also worth ordering. They are very generous with the shrimp, and these are actually large, substantial pieces rather than the tiny shrimp you often see tossed into fried rice. The rice is mixed with egg and green onions as well, making it savory, satisfying, and substantial enough to enjoy on its own. Overall, Azuma continues to be a reliable favorite for me. The perfectly cooked teriyaki beef is easily the star, but the balanced sauce, solid sides, and generous shrimp fried rice make the whole meal satisfying. At this point, ordering the teriyaki beef dinner here is less of a decision and more of a tradition.

The first thing I tried was the Sizzling Mushroom Gravy over Crispy Rice; The dish was to die for and my personal favorite thing I tried. I don't even know how to describe how flavorful and well put together the gravy was with mushroom pieces that were perfectly soft and easy to eat. Next was the salad which was so fresh, citrusy, and tasty; It was salty and all the flavors complemented each other so well forming a perfect citrusy salad. After that was the shrimp tempura. It was not too fried/flaky. It was kind of like a taquito. The shrimps flavor was very fresh with a complementary umami flavor. The Sardine Sashimi was super high quality. It was super soft and fatty and ended with a heavy pleasant fishy flavor. The miso grilled cod was great. Not much to say about it was almost creamy and the miso was good. I ate the skin too and it tasted great. The main part of this place is the soba. The kikouchi soba are thicker 100% buckwheat noodles that were very well cooked and pleasant to eat. The Plum "Ume" broth was so refreshing and nice. I ate it cold; I probably would have preferred it hot but the is just a personal preference. The Ginger Pork was great. The pork itself was super gingery without being too pungent. The shredded cabbage was super easy to pick up and eat and the side of noodle salad and miso soup were great complements to the meal. I can tell no corners were cut anywhere and that Otafuku puts a little of effort into every meal they prepare. There is great care for all of the preparations and it was a very special meal. I felt like I was in Japan for a second as the feel of the restaurant is very "homey" and the ambiance is a nice cheerful atmosphere.

You just can't find any food for $1 these days, so the $1 pricepoint was really surprising! I also love that they gave a huge serving of bread and butter as an appetizer. It was pretty busy on a Sunday evening, but after about a 5-minute wait for a table to be cleaned, we were seated. The space had a lively, casual vibe -- definitely a popular spot for dinner. I love seafood, but I also really wanted to try the katsu, so even though I'm not a big eater, I went with Combo D... which was huge. Honestly, I think it could easily feed two people. The side soup and bread came out almost immediately. The soup was simple but nice with a bit of pepper, and the bread was so good -- warm, soft, and buttery (I had to pace myself knowing what was coming). The pasta was delicious -- the clams weren't overly "clammy" (lol), and the cream sauce was light and not too heavy. The katsu was crispy and satisfying, and the salad added a nice, refreshing balance. Everything worked really well together. I ended up taking a good portion home, and even reheated, it was still just as good! Overall, a great spot with generous portions and solid food. I usually read through the Yelp comments and look at the photos before trying a new place, but this time I only checked the rating -- which was great -- and decided to go based on that and the FB post. Looking back, I probably should have read the reviews first. We didn't realize the bento boxes are only available during lunchtime, and we were also surprised to find out they don't have yakitori. Those were two things we were hoping to try. We came with a party and ordered several items, including the Akatsuki Special Hot Pot, which was recommended to us, along with other dishes. The tempura and karaage were definitely the highlights -- both were really good. The rest of the food was okay for our group, but unfortunately it didn't really satisfy our craving or stand out the way we were hoping. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly. I think the biggest thing was that our expectations were set by what we saw on FB, and the items that caught our attention weren't available when we visited. I would recommend checking their current menu before going so you know what to expect. Maybe we'll come back another time to try their lunch menu and explore more of what they offer.
