We wanted to go somewhere else, but every other place was packed and just when we were about to give up, this place caught my eye on Hamilton Avenue and we figured we'd give it a shot. I am so very glad we did. I don't remember everything we ordered that night, or last night when we went again for the second time, but most of their items are good, all of them use quality ingredients. The miso is quite salty, I will say, so much so that we thought it best not to finish it. However, the rolls we ordered were great and served surprisingly fast. Some that I can think of are the Bagel, Freedom, Dynamite, and the Hong (I didn't care as much for the Hong Roll but my husband did). As an appetizer, my husband ordered the Shrimp Boagie ... it was like having fish and chips, but not greasy at all. The batter was so fluffy and light. There is a previous review the said the green tea was tasteless ... I guess it might be hit or miss, because my husband got it both times and he's never had any complaints about it. If the tea was bland, I'm confident that the staff would have been happy to make it right for you had you asked. My husband and I are quiet people. We hate crowds, we hate drunk people, we hate loud music. We're a couple of old farts. There are definitely sushi places in the Bay Area with more exciting food ... Tomi, Nigi, and Kenji are ones we've tried and liked. However, the food here is good enough for us country bumpkins, and the atmosphere makes up for any and all shortcomings. The staff is pleasant and patient, I don't feel uneasy about asking questions about the menu, and I never feel rushed. This goes a looong way for people like us. This is a small hole in the wall kind of place. Tucked away in the back corner of a little plaza, it's quiet and quaint. It was fairly empty when I went. Our waiter was attentive. The menu had quite a bit of variety but when we asked for a specific kind of roll they didn't have, they accommodated our request. The fatty salmon belly was delicious. I do think if they painted or updated the particle wood boards in the booth it would give it a nicer feel tho. :) read more

Nice cozy place with excellent food and friendly staff. We hosted a birthday party today at sushi zono. The staff was very attentive and accommodating to all our requests (extra gingers, extra wasabi, extra napkins, etc.). We were able to bring a birthday cake there and they helped us serve the cake too. Also a plus is easy parking in front of the restaurant. Went here for dinner on a Friday, obviously with the pandemic, the restaurants have to adapt by having outdoor dining. There's still a convenience factor rather than having to drive home during rush hour to eat. The food itself was great and although there was a slight bit of self service, the servers still tried to accommodate whenever they can with minimal contact as they can because during these times, people are not trying to get sick. I went the other afternoon for lunch and ate some of the freshest sushi and sashimi I've eaten anywhere and I've been to dozens including so called high end places like Mizu on Winchester. Try ordering top grade like toro and yellow tail belly. It was so good it melted in my mouth . I also got a delicious shrimp tempura roll crunch. Waitress made sure my order was perfect and was very attentive. 5 stars all day! I'm coming back with my wife next time. Went here tonight with my family and it was really good! We ordered the combination dinner with the chicken katsu and California roll, the chicken teppanyaki, New York roll, and the tempura roll. They all came with miso soup and salad which were very good as well. Good size portions for the price and I even had enough to take home as leftovers. Long story short: good sushi at nice prices. Service was so-so Long story long: Coming up to Boulder Creek for WCC over President's Day weekend, my friend wanted to come here for lunch, having been here several times on business trips for one of his old jobs. This was his favorite sushi place, at least in the bay, and we actually planned our flight up to San Jose and the drive to Boulder Creek around having lunch here. In total, there were 10 of us that went. We all could have fit at the sushi bar, but by the time the last car (4 of us, including me) arrived, the last 4 spots at the sushi bar were taken, so we had to take a table near them. The place is decent. The foreward dining area had tables for about 20-30 people, and the back area, where we were, were about 5 or 6 tatami tables, with cutouts for your feet. The one young waitress shows up and takes our drink order as we're deciding what to get. I was good with just about anything, so my friend ordered several items such as the albacore tataki and poke. He said the tataki is the best tataki he's ever had. We also ordered a special spider roll, something called the hong roll, and a couple orders of a black cod appetizer. The tataki and poke came out first. The tataki WAS really good. I will have to say that is the best tataki I've ever had. The albacore was really fresh, the onions were really fresh and the sauce was really good. The poke was just as good. The ahi and octopus was really fresh and it had good flavor as well. A very good way to start. The black cod came next. Broiled black cod that has been marinated and soaked in sake with sauteed mushrooms and a couple lemon wedges. The black cod was cooked just right and you could really taste the sake, but it wasn't overpowering. The earthy mushrooms helped cut the butteryness of the fish. I liked this as well. Our rolls came out and they both looked good. I absolutely love spider rolls, so whenever I see it on the menu, unless someone who has been there is adverse to getting it, I always have to get it. The Hong roll was good too. I forget exactly what was inside, but the spicy tuna on top was good. The owner's son, Abe, who is also one of the sushi chefs that my friend knows, sent us this salmon eggroll appetizer. That wasn't bad. I personally would have preferred a free roll, but you can't win them all. We ordered another tataki and a couple orders of salmon and yellowtail nigiri sushi. The fish was fresh but I didn't realize they put wasabi on the rice, so that was a bit much. I will have to say the only thing keeping this from being a higher review was the service. It was almost as if the girl forgot about us. In between the rolls and the nigiri, we didn't see her for probably almost 10 minutes. I was personally getting upset. The portions were generous and the service was good. We both left there very full! Everything was fresh and tasty! The only thing that I didn't care for was the green tea ice cream. There was nothing wrong with it, I just don't like that flavor. I highly recommend this place! What was that extra $2 charge for? I have no idea. And it doesn't matter because this was probably my first and last meal at Sushi Zono. I was excited to come here as I had heard good things about this place. Luck put me in the area and with my sister visiting as well; this was an ideal place to stop for lunch that day. We arrived a little early and they weren't yet open. They offered to let us take a table and wait but we went back outside so as not to be in the way. A few minutes later, a good sized party headed in the door ahead of us to be the first customers of the day. After perusing menu choices we both decided on chef's choice sushi lunch for $16. This was fairly pricey compared to other sushi lunches I have had in the area, but new place, visiting family, let's go for it. We both asked for green tea as our only beverage and then made the admonishment of "no saba." This may have been our downfall. While I pretty much have enjoyed all the sushi I have ever set out to try, I already know that the more fishy tasting saba is not to my liking. There was a bit of wait which was kind of strange considering the place just opened and we were among the first diners in the place; but at last our meals arrived. The platters looked yummy and we asked our server for a quick rundown on certain nigiris that were unfamiliar. The chef did not give us any saba, however, I failed to be impressed by any of the other items. The smoked salmon was new to me (for sushi that is) and was not really my fave. I prefer that as lox on bagels. The scallop was new to me and was just "ok" as far as sushi goes. Everything was edible but was far off the mark for being anything extraordinary. It was one of my least memorable sushi meals in a long time so that was a disappointment. Even more disappointing was the $2 per person charge that showed up on our bill. Not written in the "beverage" spot, I don't think it was meant to be for the tea. if so, $2 per person for green tea is rather steep anyway. That being said all we could figure was that our simple "no saba" request on chef's choice had garnered the additional fee. $18 for this sushi lunch was definitely not worth it so unfortunately I don't plan on returning to Sushi Zono. read more

After reading so many great reviews, and hearing good things about this place from friends, I've been wanting to try it. It's really close to my house, so I was hoping it would be as good as the reviews indicated. Had dinner with a friend here on Saturday night. There were quite a few people there, but we were still able to be seated immediately. Although, by the time we left, it was almost entirely full. We shared gyoza and sake. The gyoza were cooked perfectly, and I really liked the flavor of them. I ordered the black cod, (one of my favorite dishes) I always get this when I see it on a menu. I also had the sashimi sampler.This consisted of 3 slices ahi, 3 slices salmon, and 2 slices of hamachi. The fish tasted VERY fresh, and the black cod was AWESOME. Service was efficient, food came out quickly, and our server was very pleasant. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the fish. I still love Yuki in WIllow Glen, but this is a good alternative. read more

I think I've found me a sushi joint I can come back to. At first glance, I wasn't too impressed. The parking lot was pretty empty, and Sushi Zono looked pretty unloved in the corner. But make no mistake, this is the real deal. Had a few things today: - Fresh sea scallop (the scallop here is served pretty big. Fresh, though a little intimidating) - Salmon nigiri - Salmon skin roll (one of my faves, pretty good here) - Spicy tuna roll (served with just a touch of mayo) - Crunchy Tammy (not the healthiest, but freaking delicious; unagi, avocado, shrimp, topped with tempura flakes and spicy sauce) Lunch was also served with salad and miso soup. Mixed bag here. The food gets a 4, the service to customer gets a 0, so average is 2. I cannot believe the aloofness and disregard for the customer here. I was greeted, and since I was alone, the hostess asked me to sit at the bar. I like that because you can see the sushi made by the chefs. She asked what I wanted to drink. Once I got my soda, I looked around. The hostess was running back and forth between the tables and the kitchen. Like, I did not have a menu. The sushi chef was busy talking to a customer at the end of the bar. So, I am sitting there thinking what the heck is going on. I finally ask for a menu after tracking down the hostess. I was basically ignored throughout the rest of the meal. I did order, and the sushi chef just kept talking to the customer at the end of the bar. Unbelievable. I finally ordered and was delivered some nice tasting sushi. I had the scallop, shrimp and CA roll maki. Very tasty sushi. Everything made up fresh when you order. Wonderful sashimi and all the rolls were delicious. So I finished eating, and then had to track down the hostess again to get my check. She never once came around to ask how I was doing, or if I wanted anything else or a refill. Just the worst customer service I have experienced, ever! I paid the bill (no tip of course) and left. This is what we ordered: Salmon Sashimi (super fresh and delish) Uni Nigiri (this was my first time trying Uni--definitely an acquired taste--I will not eat this again..it was very slimy and tasted like bad oyster to me) Alisu roll--the spicy tuna was really good and I love that it's topped with fried tempura dough Rainbow Roll-LOVED this one...the inside is made with scallops instead of california rolls We shared a fried green tea ice cream which was heavenly. Came here on Friday for some sushi with the fam. Seated at the table as the bar was full of regulars. We ordered a few rolls and they were ok. Most memorable was the Alisa roll, Art roll and the Veggie Delight. I would have definitely order those again. The bad was the vegas roll and the hamachi nigiri. When it arrived at the table I thought they sent over the wrong fish. I asked the waitress what this was as it was yellowish and rubbery tough. I tried a little bite and had to spit it out. It was realllly fishy. The waitress said indeed it was hamachi and I told her the chef should not have served it. She took it off the plate and the bill. This is where this place lost me. WOW - seriously the sushi chef HAD to have seen this fish was just plain wrong. I went there with my gf after she had a rough day. Since it was closer to my place than Tanto in Saratoga Ave., I decided to try this place. When I called that place to make sure that the place would be open on Friday night (I know of one Japanese restaurant in Cupertino who changed its ownership recently), I forgot to make a reservation. Turns out I should have since we had 5 groups ahead of us. Thankfully we only needed to wait for 15 minutes instead of 20 minutes. We were seated in a booth table, and while the space was ample, partitions allowed talking from tables next to us being quite audible. That still did not prevent us from talking to each other though. What did interrupt our talk was how slow the service was. I mean, getting our main dishes took more than 20 minutes. I know the dinner time would be busy for preparing dishes, but since the crowd was dwindling, sushi chefs should have some allowable hands. My gf was getting irritated. Normally a restaurant would give some sort of complimentary appetizer in this kind of situation. While waiting we got the usual miso soup and salad. The salad was pretty typical with Italian salad wetting cut vegetables. Miso soup was OK too. Nothing memorable. My sushi dinner had four nigiri's and six tuna rolls and CA rolls. Sliced fishes was thicker than they ought to be, such that they overwhelmed decent (but still good) existence of vinegared rice. Fishes were fresh, so it was a matter of how sushi chefs handled nigiri's. Rolls on the other hand were balanced but also not as memorable as nigiri's. I also sampled my gf's combo dinner with chicken cutlet and salmon sashimi. Cutlet was OK although the meat had some tendon and fat. Sashimi was watery. While the fish itself was good, the texture was something to be desired. In any case, I come to realize that I just cannot expect the same level of Japanese food in Campbell as SJ, SV, MV, CU, and so on. I took a coworker here for lunch. We didn't have any sushi, but both of us liked the lunch specials which are reasonably priced. For $8.50, you get two choices of entrees plus salad, soup and rice. I had the California roll (8 pieces) and tempura. I asked if I could have all broccoli for the veggie which was cheerfully done. The batter on the tempura was a bit heavy, but still tasty. Decent sizes, cheap prices, good quality. Salmon teriyaki: Ok sized portion but the fish was very well cooked. It was flaky on the outside but tender on the inside and they didn't drench it in sauce. Ika fry: Get it spicy. It's the smaller Asian calamari (legs and all), marinaded in a sweet, spicy, soy sauce and lightly fried or sauteed. It's really fucking good. Trust me. Chirashi: Some fish were meh but it was overall satisfying. There was maguro, hamachi, ebi, sake and tamago. Typical but it hit the spot. I think they make the tamago in house cause it was actually really good. Light and fluffy. Not all wet and dense like the store bought stuff. Also got a hamachi tataki (small). Should've gotten the large. This thing was overpriced and only had 4 tiny pieces of fish but the fish was fresh. Side note: The waitress speaka no Engrish here. It's terrible. read more

Campbell surprisingly has quite a few Sushi restaurants within a 1 mile radius from each other, Kazoo, Michi's, TGI's, Sato's, but my favorite destination for Sushi is hands down Sushi Zono. Now, I will preface it with this, if you're the Sushi Roll type person then this might not be for you. Don't get me wrong, they have some awesome rolls but I go to Zono for the fresh fish and seafood that you might not get at every sushi restaurant. One recommendation is to sit at the bar, way better experience since you get your food more promptly. The chefs are also great, they've definitely opened my eyes to new things. Now, why Zono is so high on my list as far as sushi goes? It comes down to FRESHNESS and a slightly different sushi experience. Again, they offer the typical bento boxes, Teriyaki Chicken, Shrimp Tempura, the different variety of rolls but it's the non mainstream food that gets me coming back. Things I've ordered: 1) Aji Sashimi (mackerel) with Ponzu sauce - Never had mackerel since to me it has a very fishy smell. Not the aji here tho, its not fishy AT ALL and the ginger, soy, and rice vinegar dipping sauce is so awesome. I order this everytime I'm here. 2) Sea Trout (it is better than salmon) - Never seen it offered anywhere else and super fresh 3) Fish Cheeks - Deep fried and so tender 4) Fresh Soft Shell Crab - Still moving when we picked it out, tossed in light flour and deep fried. 5) Fresh Abalone Sashimi - Still moving until it was killed with a salt rub, sliced and served as sashimi 6) Uni (my favorite) - always, always been fresh 7) Great House Sake ($5) Tip: Ask the Chef's what's new and give it a try and see if you like it. Took 45 mins since I sat down before my first item came out. Ordered Poki (appetizer), Deluxe Bento, and two rolls. 1st out (45 mins) : Salad and miso soup that came with bento. Salad used italian dressing which was not very good and miso soup was over salty. 2nd out: Deluxe Bento. Chicken Terayaki, california roll, Mixed tempura, and croquette. Chicken and california roll okay. Tempura and croquette not very good. Wheres my poki? 3rd out: two rolls. Forgot the rolls but they were okay. May have been good but the poor service tainted my taste buds. Wheres my poki? After we finish the bento and rolls, they clean up. Wait, what happened to my appetizer? I ask what happened and the waitress who doesnt speak english very well says they are making it. I said I rather not have it since I ordered it as an appetizer and it never came out. She says they are already making it. I said fine, give it to me to go and give me my check. After 5 mins of watching them chatting, I wave my hand to get their attention and ask them where my check and poki was. She says they are still making it, its been an hour since I ordered it! Haru does sushi. He was doing sushi when no one was doing sushi and his is always fresh and looking good. We have been coming here since the 1980s and the only down side is that it has gotten so popular you have to be a bit patient. But patience is rewarded everytime. In all these years I have never gotten a piece of sushi I would reject. In a way, I should curse Sushi Zono for making me so picky! I try to smile, but too many of the trendy places of sushi that tastes like its been sitting in the back of a dark shoe closet gathering smells. We usually stick to the straight stuff here, why waste good sushi smashed up and rolled in a big gob? However, got to love the Gwen Roll, one of my secret binges with a glass of ice cold saki when I am feeling low. Update 11/05 Friends came back from there and said it just is not the same. I was feeling sick but still had plans with my besties for dinner. I got the chicken udon and it totally hit the spot. I only ate half of it since I wasn't feeling too hot but what I ate was delicious. Nice, clear, flavorful broth with tons of udon noodles, dark meat chicken pieces and green onions. My friend had some sushi rolls and they looked really good and she said they tasted fresh. I can't wait to try some of that next time! Service is friendly. Weird sitting in the booths because it's just plywood separating them so if you lean against it, you rock the other person. My spoon was dirty but they gave me a new one right away and apologized. So my friend says to me, let's go to Sushi Zono because it is close to my house. The reasoning didn't sound good enough- so I checked yelp! I read something about good sushi, reasonable prices, and beer. I was in! And as it goes, yelp was right!!! Pitchers of beer and good sushi!! Right on. Service was pretty good, she sort of fell off at the end. For two of us it was $60 with plenty of sushi and 1 pitcher of beer. I think $30 a person is pretty reasonable for alcohol and sushi. That includes tip too. We had the spider roll, rainbow roll, shrimp tempura roll, and a tempura appetizer. All real good and fresh. The bathroom was 5 star! One stall like a home bathroom and nice and clean with good smelling soap. read more

Seriously, this is quality without breaking the bank! $77 gets you: -a rainbow roll (more on this later) -an unagi/avocado roll -a dynamite roll -Two orders of salmon nigiri and one order scallops nigiri - a beer for your sushi chef (which generated more food- see below) -20% tip - two cold sakes $9 and $12 - stuffed and feeling like we've found our new hangout We got there on a Thursday night at 6:45, and were able to park directly in front. We sat at the bar with no wait and had excellent service and pleasant conversation with the chef. We bought him a beer and he started making us wonderful side dishes: - salmon carpaccio - salmon egg roll - steamed mushroom ensemble (shiitake, oyster, etc) The quality on all of the fish was perfect, and the rice was made with care as well (good sushi rice is key for great sushi). The Rainbow Roll: in the core it has chopped scallops with a little mayo and a little tiny bit of spicyness, rolled inside out- then on top is tuna, salmon, and SHISO (YUM) layered for a very pretty effect - the presentation on this roll is truly beautiful......but to taste it is to KNOW heaven....the tastes melded together perfectly. The only downside was that they were out of fried green tea ice cream, but we really didn't need it anyway. 06/05/07 update- went back for Friday night sushi and was not disappointed- spent $65 and ate like kings, again! They had the fried green tea ice cream too so hubby was happy. I am ALL about the raging tuna. I have never seen this exact roll anywhere else, it's an albacore maki, very lightly deep fried and served in ponzu sauce and onions, it is screaming good. I pretty much want to order one of these for myself each time that i come here. word of advice, do NOT order the cold somen noodles unless you already know what it is and you like it, i thought it was going to be something very different than it turned out to be and i hated it. But that's my bad, live and learn. The sushi is great, and so is the food. We've had all of the basics, chicken/beef/salmon teri, tempura, gyoza, etc...it's all good. WHOA. To all the ones that gave good ratings, did you mean to look up "Sushi ZONE" on San Tomas Aquino? We went in on a Friday night at 9pm, it wasn't busy, about half full. Decent looking place. Waitress came around and took our order promptly. That's about where things went south. We had a party of 7 and we all put in our order comprised of an app, entree rolls, salads, miso, and a bento box. The salads came out first and set the tone for the meal. The dressing was very mayonnaise-y. Horrible compared to Sushi Zone and especially my favorite, Minatos in Japantown. Miso soup was fine. The Assorted Sashimi appetizer came out and was decent but the quality was not up to par. Nice tuna is more smooth, and holds together. The tuna here was old and wouldn't even hold in a slice, but was falling apart. You could taste the difference in quality. Then, out of all the entrees, the Bento Box came out a good 10 minutes before ANY other entree came out. It was cold by the time he got to eat it because he didn't want to be rude and eat before everyone else. My rainbow roll and Salmon skin roll came out. I really liked the salmon skin roll. The rainbow roll was a little sub par. It was ok except again, you can taste the un-fresh fish and could see it as the flakes were falling apart. And the worst part, what is with the leaf garnish that is rolled onto the fish? Everyone peeled it off of theirs, but I didn't see it at first and bit into it. Our Nigiri Rolls had wasabi in it. Now that could be normal to some people, but we prefer places that don't make their Nigiri with wasabi smeared in. Fish wasn't fresh. The Tekamaki was a ground up tuna as opposed to most places that use a slice of the tuna. Points to unfresh fish again. Cali roll came with a big stick of imitation crab. Although that does remind me, the rainbow roll had the shredded crab, which was better. The Spider Roll was up to par. One friend had the tuna lover and had the same comment about the freshness. Finally, the price. It was higher than sushi zone pricing! We came here because our friend accidentally made a reservation thinking it was Sushi Zone. Don't make the same mistake. read more

Was just here a couple of weeks ago during a Digital Hollywood Conference. My co-workers and I came here two days in a row, and my other co-worker three days in a row. We told the other people at the conference about this place as well as what to get, and they all LOVED it. Seriously the best place around. The clam that they gave us was still alive...talk about fresh! This used to be one of our favorite places for Japanese food. We came in a few weeks back, and noticed the original owner was back preparing our sushi. He is fantastic, pieces were sizeable and extremely fresh. Me and the wife were very happy with the results. Last week we went in and the usual people were working the sushi bar.(not the original owner) We ordered the same items and was very disappointed with what we received. My maguro looked old, and it tasted like it looked. My wife's chirashi looked so sorry when she received it, that she commented on it. (She is from Japan) We then began to wonder, ("Why the big difference between then and now?) We came up with the answer, Old school Japanese quality. Now, were going to Tomi Sushi. We've been coming to this place for literally YEARS (like 25+). The prices are modest and the food hot and fresh. We usually get the dinner combo which is a great value for the money. When we got inside, we noticed all new employees; since we've been coming for years, we didn't see the owner behind the sushi bar and thought it had been sold. We found out the owners son is now running the bar and the food was still pretty decent. Our only complaint: the cold noodle appetiser on our bento box wasn't cooked. The tea was not 'that' hot (but hot enough to drink). The saki was much HOTTER than the tea. We sat in the Tatami room and were all by ourselves on a weeknite. Service was good, but they took awhile to check in on us and our tea was filled fast after that. read more

And another Japanese restaurant gem is found in Campbell. I don't know why but Campbell is on a roll (pun intended). Came here for lunch with a friend and everyone we had was good. I know California rolls are pretty simple but this place and Michi's has the best ones. other places add mayo or just have too much crab meat that the roll looks like it has a tumor. Zono has it just right for my liking. The tempura batter is very impressive. It is hard for fried food to taste light and fluffy, but the shrimp and veggie tempura was the best of all the Campbell Japanese joints for sure. The location is convenient although it is in a strip mall with a bunch of dying businesses it seems. The interior is decent although I felt it was a little crowded.. not TGI Sushi crowded where you basically sit on strangers laps. Also some of the plates need to be updated. It was a good sign when we got there and it seemed like everyone was a regular; there was lots of chit chat among the diners and staff. What we ordered: Sake - We just got the house stuff warm, it went down a little too well :) Beer - Kirin on tap (yay) Ika fry - Delicious squid... get the spicy Sashimi - very fresh Tuna Carpaccio - Soooo good... they have some magical sauce on it that was excellent Hamachi Maki & Spicy Tuna - Always my sushi standards, very fresh. Vegas Roll - You have to love deep-fried sushi Special Spider Roll - I just love soft shell crab scallop and uni nigiri - The scallops were so sweet and HUGE! Uni tasted like the ocean.. just lovely. Deep Fried Ice Cream - A great way to end a meal.. it's pretty big and we were able to split one order among the 4 of us. ...and if you order at least $7/person worth of sushi, you get salad and miso soup for free... I have been coming to Sushi Zono for years, I used to work a lot in Japan and have found this restaurant to equal many of the neighborhood Sushi restaurants I would visit while in Japan. The staff is Friendly and the service is good, sometimes they get over whelmed when the place fills up and there is a line. When it comes to sushi I am more of a traditionalist, I fine their rolls to be excellent but I am more of a sashimi/nagiri person that likes to sit at the bar, enjoy the conversation and enhance my meal with a Kirin or a glass of good cold Sake, The fish is fresh, the specials are in tune with what's in season and if you get along with the chef you might get a little something extra. This to me is as close to Japan without all the travel hassles. read more

Took both of my best friends here for their birthday because one of them enjoy dining here. The atmosphere is decent, very nice waitresses. Lets get to the food: Hamachi Kama - really good. Their dinner portion is pretty decent size. Side Salad - not that great, the dressing is very liquidy. Sashimi - it's not that bad, ended up ordering the Moriawase. It has tuna, salmon, red snapper, octopus, and yellow tail. Overall, their fishes are pretty decent quality - thin slices though. I enjoyed the octopus Art roll - Scallop Mix, Avocado, Tuna, Tobiko, & Spicy Sauce. This was a disappointment because I couldn't even taste the scallop. Sushi Zono roll - Eel, Avocado, Kani Kama, & Tobiko. This wasn't that bad, just tasted like eel Spider roll - Softshell Crab, Avocado, & Tobiko - didn't care for this as much, other sushi places makes it better. The softshell crab seems overcooked Hong Roll - Shrimp tempura & A vocado topped with Spicy tuna, and spicy tobiko - This was a pretty good roll, I say one of the best there. I've never experienced worse service in my life. I've been here twice. The first time, we sat at the sushi bar and were treated rudely by the waitresses. Plus, their english is horrible. The second time, we were seated at a table, and after 10 minutes of nobody coming over to even give us water, we stood up and left. Dude. I fuxkin digg this place!!! I was introduced to this aMazballz restaurant by my good friend a few months ago. At first I was very skeptical because I've never seen it before (I drive by it everyday on the way to work), and I've never really heard about this place until my friend persuaded me to give it a try----best decision I've ever made in terms of dining. Before I get into detail, I want to first get something straight! Many people on yelp gives this a bad review only due to the employees lack of service... I don't know if they haven't gotten the proper training or if they just don't care? That's why I always sit at the sushi bar, served by the best sushi chef in the world, HARU! This gentleman is quite the entertainer, and he also happens to have the most generous heart----that is if you catch him at the right time, or if there is any seats left at the bar. But any who, if any of you know of anyone with enough serving experience, y'all should givem a hollllaaaa and tell them to apply :D help rebuild the reputation it deserves! ...BECAUSE THE FOOD HERE IS ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY FANTASTIC! 10/10. Haru, never serves fish that is not up to his par. Their fish is delivered DAILY and he will return the product if he has any reasons to believe the quality of the fish is bad.
