I've been here twice and each time was a delight. My favorite item on their menu has to be the green bean tempura that is fried to perfection and is served with a mouthwatering black truffle aioli. Its a great place to take a date or group of friends that enjoy sushi and different appetizers. Note that this place is a little pricy but then again, most restaurants at the palazzo/venetian are. Sushi is great and fresh as expected. The ramen is actually surprisingly good but dont order it unless you want to share it with others cuz there are so many other options you can try unless you lost all your money gambling and you can only afford the ramen. The selection of sake is pretty awesome but just go with the sake flight so you can try different sakes and can get you a lil faded. My favorite appetizer i get everytime is the pork belly. We came here pretty late on a Friday night and had made a last minute reservation. Service was mostly efficient. It is really pretty inside and a larger restaurant than we thought. We split the Squid Robata, the Neo Tokyo Rill and the 15 piece Sashimi. We definitely recommend the Squid Robata. It was cooked so well and the dipping sauce was a perfect compliment. I was a little disappointed with the Neo Tokyo roll, while it was good, I don't think it was really worth the price for $21. I would also say this about the Sashimi. The Sashimi were decent sized cuts but for 15 pieces at $62, not sure if it was worth it. We spent a total of $114 with those 3 items. I missed that this was a fusion sushi place. My server was 5 stars but I would say the sushi combos were maybe 3 to 4 stars with a really long wait like 30min+ dropping that solidly to a 3 star rating. If the sushi slapped hard then I might do consider the wait worth it but the flavors and texture were ok at a pretty costly price point. Part of it just feels like the Vegas inflation. My husband and I just recently moved to Las Vegas, and its officially time to start these reviews. I'm definitely no Keith Lee, since I'm ballin on a budget, but we finally splurged. The late night eat came out of nowhere and it's open until midnight. We sat down at 11:05 and was out by 11:30. No there was no rush, but the service, the speed, the food- all was worth stuffing our face. Here is what we got- total at the end. We started off with the crispy taquitos, its a minimum of 2 for the order and you can get either 1. Yellowtail; flavorful and bursting with freshness. The yuzu foam was balanced and such a great bite. ($10) 2. Japanese Wagyu: oh my tender. Melt in your mouth and a slight truffle after taste. Wonderful ($18) Apps: 1. Vegetable Tempura: this is pretty basic, but so lovely. One note is the onion on this is a FULL onion: not a sliver. It was such an awesome flavor. There is a creamy dipping sauce which wasn't great, but the soy one was top notch! We also got some rolls: 1. Avocado: Basic, BUT it is filled with avocado. One of the best ratios ever ($6) 2. Asevicado: I was between this roll and El Topo. I asked the waiter and he said there was no comparison. I will have to say this roll was FRESH, FLAVORFUL, and Colored! It was well worth it and I loved the crunchy from the sweet corn ($28) Dessert: Citrus Creme Brûlée: the presentation was fantastic. With a puff of smoke and beautiful colors- it was a vibrant art piece. It was so tart- but amazing in every component. My taste pallet continues to be spoiled by places like Sushisamba! My friend always mentions about going to this place whenever he's in Vegas and I finally tried it. A nice surprise was I walked in during Happy Hour on a Friday afternoon and we were seated immediately. Drinks and food were all delicious and even though it may look like small portions, it was really filling. All the raw fishes were fresh and tasty. Skewers, Hokkaido scallops, wagyu gyoza were all great! I don't normally order cooked fish but my favorite was the sea bass skewers, it just melts in your mouth! The food was great and the service was near perfect. The ambience was above average. My only slight complaint was there was a little rotten/wilted lettuce on the outside of the gem salad. I removed it and the salad was delicious... so was everything else. The "beef taquitos" are not what you are thinking- they are little tacos filled with the most succulent diced beef you've ever had. We went to Sushisamba to celebrate a birthday dinner with some girl friends, and it was amazing! The vibe and decor of this place is very cool considering it is in the middle of basically a mall-area of the Palazzo. We had a reservation so we were seated very quickly in the heart of the restaurant. Our server was great, she was super helpful with understanding portions and explaining different items on the menu. The food was fast - they bring out dishes as they're made since it's more of a sharing style restaurant. We all started with drinks - I got the Coconut Matcha Sour. If you're a coconut fan you should definitely order this! I wouldn't say this is Matcha-y or sour, but more of a boozy creamy coconut. It was the perfect cooling palette cleanser to drink with the variety of food we tried. We started with two orders of edamame, one spicy and one regular. If you like chili oil I highly recommend the spicy! These were addicting - I had to stop myself before I got too full for dinner. Next we had an order of the Wagyu Gyoza - which is a signature item. This was a decadent, rich wanton that was creamy and delicious. To be honest, I didn't even really need more than one with how rich it was. I would definitely say this is a must-try when coming here. I decided to share a couple of sushi rolls with friends - We tried 3 signature rolls and two regular rolls. The salmon avocado and california roll were very delicious and fresh. The El Topo came out first - and we were a little intimidated with this having mozzarella on it. To be honest, I didn't even really notice the cheese since it kind of worked with the roll. This one was very bland to me, but I didn't really mind it with all the other flavors we ordered. I don't think I would order again but I didn't regret it. My favorite signature roll was the Neo Tokyo, it was like an elevated spicy tuna roll filled with flavor. Again, tasted super fresh! I didn't like the Asevichado just because of the texture. It was too piecey of a filling for me (if that makes sense)? But I'm also picky with my sushi. The night wrapped up with a birthday dessert for myself and my two other friends with birthdays! Before a show at the Venetian, I decided to give Sushisamba a try. I have been planning on this for a while, but this was a good time with the show later on. I had a reservation for 6 PM and I was seated immediately at a two top in the restaurant section. I had the option to sit at the bar or at the sushi counter. I wasn't having sushi and so I took the inside restaurant table. Shortly, I was asked about water and other beverages. They don't have plain black iced tea--it already has flavors and sugar in it so I took a pass and got a diet cola along with water. My server, Isaac came to the table. He proved to be not only an excellent server, but he had great insight into the menu, the portion sizes, and suggestions of what items would go together well! He also explained that it was a Japanese, Brazilian, Peruvian restaurant. There isn't much in Brazilian cuisine in Las Vegas save for the churrascaria restaurants. I had my main course selected before I got there from checking their menu on Yelp. When I asked about something for a starter, Isaac steered me away from what I chose as it was close to the texture of my main course selection. Instead, I ordered the crispy Hokkaido scallops. For the main course, I ordered the moqueca mista. The scallops came out and they were with butter lettuce, phyllo, scallion, micro greens, and sweet sesame aioli. The server explained what I was presented and suggested that the scallops be eaten like a lettuce wrap. They were excellent. The sesame aioli was super! Next came the moqueca, Brazilian fish stew with shrimp, squid, sea bass, mussels, clams with coconut milk, dendê oil, and chimichurri rice. The stew broth was so very rich and flavorful. The center had their chimichurri rice and the stew had the seafood around the edges of the rice. You will need an extra napkin which they give you to clean your hands from picking up the clam shells, the shrimp tails, and the mussels. The seafood was very good. The shrimp were a bit tough and that detracted a bit. Dessert? Why of course. I looked over the menu and ordered the Cafe bom bom--Peruvian coffee panna cotta, chocolate hazelnut crumbs, hazelnut crème, sweet cream ice cream, Japanese whiskey foam, and coffee tuile. It was fantastic. The coffee flavor of the panna cotta was strong and the ice cream was a nice counterpoint. The restaurant is filled with art. A long ribbon formed part of the ceiling near me and winds its way in other places which was fun to follow. The art was done by Felipe Yung, a São Paulo street artist and it was very enjoyable to see the different pieces spread throughout the restaurant. The meal was an international delight. Attending a conference and had a reception at Sushisamba. There was a taco bar where I had a tuna taco. The shell tasted very fresh with a nice crunch and the tuna was also very good. Went to Sushisamba a fews back for my birthday with my wife and cousins and was so glad to finally give this restaurant a try! The restaurant is quite unique and bar on one end and the rest of restaurant on the other end. The service here was great! The restaurant was described as "an inventive culinary culmination of three countries: Japan, Brazil and Peru" so we were curious to see how they are able to pull this off. First of all, we liked the lively vibe of the venue that features orange and black orbs dancing in the ceiling, the round booths in the main dining room, the window with frigid vapors presumably for raw oysters etc, the long sushi bar. Food should feed the eyes as well as the stomach, and we were prepared for both. We just had to have a flight of sake! We started with an appetizer of yellowtail ceviche which was packed with flavor. Dinner entrees were chicken teriyaki with a purple yam (ube) mash. We wish there was a more generous serving of the ube mash because it was really quite tasty and was a welcome side dish to the flavorful chicken teriyaki. The other dinner entree was something new to both of us: Seafood Chaufa, a Peruvian-Chinese fusion dish known as "Chifa." Like Chinese fried rice, it's a perfect way to use leftover rice, and customizable for dietary preferences. This Peruvian fried rice with seafood recipe is a healthy one-pot meal. It was somewhat a cross between fried rice and paella. What a scrumptious dish! We were having such a good experience we decided to get dessert consisting of three little donuts --- so pillowy soft --- with a scoop of vanilla. A definite hit! read more

The sliders are miniature as well as the potstickers. Both were alright. The Kobe beef slider have sliced plantains inside of it. Sushi wasn't the best, but a good appetizer. Just shrimp tempura rolled up in rice. The rice was cold and mushy. For drinks, we got the wagyu cocktail, which was their version of an old fashioned but with a twist. They add wagyu fat to it. Yes, it's as disgusting as it sounds. It tasted like we accidentally dropped a fatty piece of meat into our drink. It was the most expensive cocktail too at $22. One of the managers, Phill, was extremely nice and delighted us with a round of the Lychee Cooler (our fav of all the drinks we ordered), and a fun birthday pate a choux filled with delicious chocolate cream. The service was outstanding and we'd come back just for that. Shishito peppers $10: really yummy, lime-y, and SPICY! I know 1/10 peppers is supposed to be spicy but the three I had were super spicy. Still enjoyed them. Rock Shrimp Tempura $19: this was everyone's favorite appetizer. The tempura is light and crispy and the shrimp is cooked to perfection- not rubbery. We loved the spicy mayo Salt and Pepper Squid $18: everyone agreed that this squid was cooked super well, it was nice and tender and not over cooked. We loved the rice and the coconut flavor throughout the curry. 10/10 would get again and eat the sauce over cardboard Of the four rolls we got, yellowtail scallion roll $13, samba strip $32, asevichado $28, and neo Tokyo $19, my absolute favorite and standout to me was the Samba Strip. If I came back alone I would probably order that for myself. I enjoyed flavor dichotomy between the fresh maine lobster with the sweetness of the mango, encapsulated with a hint of truffle essence. Nashi $16: Pear vodka, elderflower liqueur stirred with lychee water, passion fruit and yuzu juice. Everyone agreed that this and the Lychee Cooler cocktails were the best. What I liked about the Nashi is how bright the flavors felt in my mouth. Sometimes cocktails can feel too liquor heavy, and this was a perfect balance. Lychee Cooler $18: Vodka, elderflower cordial and vanilla, shaken hard with coconut cream and lychee water. This was also everyone's favorite cocktail. This is a sweet treat that masks the vodka flavor pretty well, so if you're looking for something that doesn't taste like straight up alcohol, get this! Thanks Sushi Samba!
