Bulgogi Bibimbap & Chicken Teriyaki
Mya C.

I did not love or hate this place. It was very in the middle for me. The restaurant is very mom & pop, decorated to the owners personal liking I'm sure. Makes you feel like you walked into your Korean aunties dining room. The staff seemed really busy. They were not rude at all but I wouldn't use the word friendly. Because they were attentive I cannot say it mattered much to me. You don't have to be my best friend and while friendliness is appreciated, I'd much rather have someone who checks in more often to refill drinks and such like. The bibimbap was good. It's something that I believe is hard to mess up anyway. The teriyaki chicken was unfortunately pretty flavorless. I would possibly return if invited by a friend but I would never get the teriyaki again and stick to the popular Korean dishes.

BBQ combo with kalbi ribs and spicy chicken

A nice find! Good service and terrific portions. The bulgogi bibimbop was served in a stone bowl that perfectly crisped the rice. I loved the ability to choose the protein for the kimbop - Spam for the win! The BBQ combo of Kalbi ribs and spicy chicken was well done and chock full of flavor. The accompanying side dishes included Kimchee and many other traditional Korean sides. Price was quite fair given the size of portions.

There are very few options for Korean food in the Kitsap Peninsula so I appreciate getting my Korean food fix here. I tried their kalbi and spicy pork bulgogi which hit the spot when I am craving it. The banchan is not the most traditional but it is still good though. Service is a bit slow but otherwise good food!

5 star spicy chicken teriyaki plate with Mac salad.

Absolutely love this place. The spicy chicken teriyaki is good and you can get it 1-5 stars spicy. Well worth getting the 5 stars. The macaroni salad is some of the best I have had. Highly recommend going to Suzy's and enjoying any of the food.

I imagine if I had a Korean grandma, this is the food she'd be making/servicing. Service was fast. And while the food wasn't the fanciest, everything was homemade and good. Simple banchan, and A LOT of food, they really don't mess around. You will not go home hungry! My only issue was that the spicy pork was not spicy enough. Not sure if they would have had gochujang on the side, or something else to spice it up. I'll ask next time.

My new favorite spot! Not a lot of varieties out here in Bremerton except for fast food and chained restaurants so I was very HAPPY to have found this place. They have reasonable priced menu and their banchan (side dishes) are all very tasty, I asked for more and that rarely happens! The soon dubu (soup) was delicious and the meats were authentic tasting and yummy combo. They were busy but the service was still excellent. Hole in the wall but inside is kept very clean.

Suzy's is an unassuming Korean place in the middle of Bremerton. If you're visiting this area, or live on the peninsula, it should be a stop on your list. The service is amazing, homey, and comfortable. We had a great server who was very understanding of our dietary needs (my partner and I are vegan), and was able to point out solid vegan options for us to order. The food itself is a testament to the sometimes hidden diversity of the peninsula. Our Kimbap was fresh and flavorful. We had an AWESOME giant kimchi pancake that we ate too much of. The stars of the show were definitely the vegetable bibimbap and yuke'jang. The bibimbap was delicious and came out crackling and hot in the metal server. The soup was mild and earthy with a little spice. I'm sad I've only discovered this place after moving away, but I am excited to come back for a future visit!

And to me, the price is too high for the food to just be "fine." The mocktails are always delicious, and one time they made me a Pimm's cup. I've also sipped a few of my family's cocktails and they're quite good. The best thing I had was a vegan sloppy Joe with chickpeas a few years ago. The vegan Caesar salad is good. They seem to have a housemade veggie burger on the menu year round, but it's on a brioche bun so if you want to get it vegan it just comes without a bun... I had it once with the bun and even then I found it pretty dry and underwhelming, especially for the price. ($18 with a pickle and a handful of their thick fries [the fries are tasty and vegan]). We went yesterday and I got a squash appetizer without the crème fresh, and half the squash was undercooked (like so hard I couldn't put a fork through it). I told the server and they comped the dish, but even the part that was edible wasn't that great, so I didn't really want a replacement. My sister likes the steak, she's had it twice and the steak is cooked well, the sauce is good, but the carrots have been undercooked both times. She agrees that the drinks are better than the food. She also says the desserts are good. My mom thought the crab cakes were delicious, her Brussels sprouts were not undercooked. The people who work there are lovely, and it's a good vibe, but it might just be a drinks & desserts spot for me.

We were well taken care of and the food was great! We were there celebrating a family member's birthday and they allowed us to bring our own birthday cake for them to store in a fridge. They even brought it out with candles we didn't bring and sang to them! Completely unexpected but made for a great celebration. I'd definitely recommend the Boat Shed to anyone in the Bremerton area!

We had a very nice server, however she never even asked whether we wanted a second drink - fair as we most certainly didn't. I ordered the special margarita (dragon fruit and mango) - instead I got downgraded to the house margarita which tasted like sh$tty margarita mix sans tequila. This absolutely terrible drink was served in a tumbler sized glass full of ice, as if I would not realize the drink scam going on here. My wife ordered a strawberry basil summer cooler - it lacked flavor and even the hint of ETOH. Well, that was the highlight of our onetime only experience. The food was completely lacking in seasoning - the chefs must have been trained in Poulsbo. My best guess, drunk boaters do not care that the food is not well cooked and under seasoned. Given their likely inebriated state, they probably also don't care that they are being given drinks with almost no alcohol and even worse execution. Caveat Emptor
