The food was amazing, chicken was flavorful, and tender. My waffles were made to perfection and with the added vanilla glaze I didn't even need syrup! The music brought a good vibe to the atmosphere. All the staff was very kind and welcoming. The manager even turned off the heat because we were right by the kitchen and it was burning up. But that just showed how accommodating they were and it was very appreciated. I definitely recommend the chicken and waffles with the vanilla glaze if you ever try!
I had never been to a Sweet Chick before but had heard great things about their other locations. I realized there was one nearby and decided to give it a try. The space was open, inviting, and super cute. The food -- especially the chicken -- was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the waffles had that perfect crunch. I also ordered a cocktail I believe Queen of NY, which was strong and delicious, though I wish it had been a little less sweet. My partner and I came here for brunch, and the only downside was that they didn't offer coffee -- a bit surprising for a brunch spot. That said, the service was fast and attentive, which made for an overall great experience.
What a delicious meal! My partner took me here as I've never had Sweet Chick and now I can't get enough of it! The environment and the staff were so friendly and welcome. Although I didn't get the name of the server who helped us, he had really great energy and was very warm to all the customers there. My favorite dish that night was actually their crispy Brussels sprouts. I didn't know they could taste that good and I kept eating them. The chicken was perfect - no comments. The butters were fun! I really liked their berry butter. I got my waffles with the apple cinnamon and while it was good, I don't think it showed up as much and maybe wasn't really needed. All in all this was a great meal and now if I want chicken and waffles, I know where to go.
No matter which location I visit, sweet chick absolutely never ever fails. The last time I went , I ordered the jalapeno cheddar hush puppies. Which were nice crispy savory and spicy. Very flavorful , with the cheddar contrasting the jalapeño. For my aunt ray I decided to have the apple cinnamon waffles with the chipotle chicken. This meal was not only filling but also mesmerizing and wonderfully done. The contrast between the apple cinnamon waffle and the chipotle chicken gave a very sweet vs. heat competition that I absolutely love. I love sweet chick happy and absolutely full as per usual and I will always support some sweet chick.
I've been wanting to come here for soooooooo long and I'm so happy I finally did!!! The chicken and waffles were so good. Chicken was crispy, waffles were crispy. Even better with the maple syrup on top Loaded fries are also always a good idea and I loved the bacon and jalapeño on it Will deff be back!!
Have you ever gone been the one to suggest a place, and then it falls through? That's what happened here. We had the option to go here or to a different restaurant and because I've been here a few times before (but not enough to be considered a regular) I suggested we come here. I checked to see if there was a way to make resys, and that wasn't an option that I noticed, so we just went as walk-ins. It was a Wednesday and about 6pm. When we walked in, I noticed there were people sitting to the side waiting to be seated, but they had a larger party they were waiting for. The back area was empty, and a few tables were empty up front, but the bar was pretty full. We walked in and waited a few minutes , and eventually, we were acknowledged by the bartender who said our table would be ready shortly. While waiting, some regulars walked in and seated themselves in the back and at the bar, notifying the bartender of where they were going. Maybe their party was there so I was minding my business. Although a few tables were already cleaned and set up, we we told to wait for one being cleaned from guests who just left, but no problem. We were told to go sit in the table just wiped down, and I was given some menus and informed water would be brought over. Guests for two other tables came in and were seated pretty quickly, and the person tending the bar came over to bring them water and take their orders as well. Now, with it being allergy season, and although I carry around a bottle of water in case I get choked up, I ran out. So I felt a coughing fit coming on, and since we still hadn't received any water or service at all at this point, I got up and went to the bar to ask for some water. The bartender who stated we were going to get water 2 tables and 15-20 mins ago stops me on my way up there and basically reprimands me saying "sit 'sweetie' I got you! " I'm trying to explain to him how I actually needed water then, and he's telling me that he's coming as if it was just my not being patient. I could have said something more or ignored him and got water anyway but I wanted to see how this played out so I went back to the table and sat and waited and started coughing as I knew would happen and he eventually came over after chatting with some friends or locals that came in and another table. Finally, he comes over to bring our table a bottle of water. At that point, he then he took our order. We informed him that at this juncture the dessert (slice of cake) that we were ordering we wanted packed up to go, because we knew our timing and he proceeded to tell us we can take our time and chill and have it afterwards.... Fast forward, we get our food after a while. And we have no utensils. Yes, we have chicken for a portion of the meal, but we also had food that needed forks... At no point did our server come to check on us to find out if we were good or if anything was needed when our food was delivered. He did enjoy the camaraderie of the regulars who stopped by and those who seemed to be friends. In no way would I ever say or suggest to ignore those who are your regulars because that's how you keep them, but also don't ignore those who you think are new or you just don't notice because that prevents them from returning. We were able to get another servers attention and asked for to go boxes and then adked for the check. We basically were seated to get our food to go. One star is for the other server who came up to assist, (female, pretty brown- skin, pony tail, average height and nice demeanor) and another star for the person bringing out dishes and running back and forth seemingly bringing dishes from storage (male, latino, braids, about 5'3, -5'5 very polite). This really took away from my previous experiences there, and I doubt I'd plan to return anytime in the near future.
A bit disappointed in this place as it was actually on my list of food spots to try when coming to New York. It's in a pretty busy area at night with bustling nightlife and lots of other food options. The interior is cute and intimate, and the music was on point. My husband and I ordered two salads, a 10 piece wings and a three-piece, tender, and fry to go. After ordering, we went and walked around the area a bit, then came back and sat and waited for our food while waiting we noticed that the restaurant really started to pick up at the bar and table seating after 30 minutes. I asked the bartender about our food, but she said he would check When he came back. He had our food. I'm thinking it was sitting there for a while since we only had two salads, some wings, and a few tenders. I do feel the service could've been better, especially seeing as I actually tipped for that to go, which was something new I'm trying out that doesn't seem to be going well when getting back to our hotel and trying it, we were not fans at all of the maple chipotle wings. They were bland and really just not that good. My sesame ginger salad could have been better if it had more dressing that came with it. My husband's Caesar salad was good. My sister's tenders and fries were okay. She said she liked the tenders, but not so much the fries. I would not return to this restaurant.
Ate here on the night of the Jake Paul/Mike Tyson fight and it was a vibe (as always though). I've had sweet chick a few times and it never disappoints no matter what I try. On this occasion I tried the vanilla glaze chicken & waffles with plain chicken tenders. Absolutely tasty combo. I also have had the OG chicken sandwich & chicken & waffles with honey soy garlic tenders and that was also so tasty. I highly recommend trying ALL of those things on ALL the many times you (should) go to Sweet Chick. It's also a great vibe in there, just like a classic NY vibe with great service and kind workers all around. Definitely a must try if you're visiting NYC or even if you've lived there and never had it!

SO GOOD. I was in NY for the weekend and fo some reason really wanted chicken & waffle....so we came to Sweet Chick! I love everything about the restaurant. The minute we walked in, we were greeted by mini muffins while waiting. The brunch menu has a variety (but not overwhelming) of options and we opted for: - chicken & waffles: absolutely recommend. The chicken pieces were fried to perfection and flavored well. Waffles were crispy and light, paired well with syrup and/or any of the three whipped butter (sweet, savory, and regular) - bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich: super delicious, the biscuit is crumbly and buttery and just delicious - mac & cheese: scrumptious and decadent, perfect portion (not too big or small) We must have done a good job ordering because the table next to us, who came in after us, ordered exactly the same things as us after seeing our food! I'm from Texas, and Texas has a TON of fried chicken spots that I know and love. Moving to New York, I was hoping to find something similar to what I had back home but unfortunately Sweet Chick is not it. It's entirely self-service and the food is underwhelming. The chicken tenders were tiny for $3 a piece and they lacked bold flavor. The loaded fries were fine but also not worth the price. Chicken is supposed to be a cheaper protein which surprises me to see this place charging high prices for mediocre food. Cute decor though and friendly staff. read more

I know I'm late but I came here on a date a couple years back ( like 2015) and got the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. I would say, from what I can remember that the service was very nice and friendly BUT I did NOT LIKE my food. It just wasn't good. I think sweet chick is black owned too if I'm not mistaken and they can't fry no fried chicken yall. Lol I probably might go back to give it a try this year. read more

Another dope neighborhood fave during my stay-cation in NY. I live up in Harlem and I will admit that the flavor of chicken there and Atlanta (where I'm born and raised) is better. I went to Sweet Chick for Saturday brunch and it did not disappoint. Food: Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles (Boneless Option) - this was my favorite item. It had the perfect amount of heat, crispy and crunchy on the outside with juicy chicken on the inside and the waffles were also solid. Spicy Honey Butter Chicken Buttermilk Biscuit: The chicken also had great crunchy breading and was doused in delicious spicy honey and was also juicy. I would order this again. Biscuit was decent, but the chicken was definitely the star of the show as it should be. Jalapeno Cheddar Hush Puppies: These were okay. I didn't hate them, but I wouldn't get them again. I feel like they needed more cheese and the sauce wasn't enough to make them not dry. Misc: When you walk in and get seated, you use the QR Code on the table you are seated at and you order and pay through there. Any utensils and condiments are provided at the table and there is a large water dispenser at the bar with cups for you to get yourself. Overall, a solid breakfast and brunch spot! read more

Sweet Chicks was everything I expected and more. After reading the reviews I knew we had to be there when they first open to avoid waiting. We arrived for brunch around 10:30am and was seated immediately. The food was smelling good and I had no clue what I was going to order. The wait staff was efficient and was moving quickly to accommodate the customers. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit with the home fries and a side order the Carolina cheese grits. The sandwich was excellent and it didn't fall apart when you tried to eat it like a sandwich. The home fries was so crispy you can eat it without any condiments. The Carolina cheese grits was nice and thick and that's the way I like my grits. I had an excellent brunch and I wasn't rushed through my meal. I suggest if you want to go for brunch, get there when they open so you can relax and enjoy your meal. read more
This place was recommended by my friend so we went for lunch on a Monday. It was generally pretty quiet but picked up after a bit. I ordered chicken tenders and waffles. Very tasty, tender chicken and crisp coating. The waffle was well made, fluffy and not too dense. I liked the various butters they served on the side. The only negative was I don't think they make clear to the guests that it's pretty much self order (no wait staff taking orders). One guest came up to me with his drink order because I was getting my friend and I water (free water in the front). I told him I dont work there. I've been to a few of the other locations, pre-covid and it gave a hipster meets down home feel. The food was okay, but nothing really drew me back to dine again. Friends from out of town want to go so, I went. This location on the other hand, was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Nasty bathrooms, sticky tables, an online ordering system with no options to pay with a major servicer (PayPal, applepay, venmo, etc), cash, or space for modifications. There are no servers, they are all runners.... unmasked, hanging out on the sidewalk chatting up their folks coming by. No thank you. My friend was hell bent on staying, so I ordered a $9 chicken biscuit without sauce. My friend got the Nashville hot chicken tenders and waffles and the chicken salad. Was it tasty? Yes? Was it worth it? Ehhhh. The ratio of chicken to biscuit was varied but still big enough to make it work. I didn't have a server to even ask for a little ranch to put on my biscuit. Luckily, my friend shared some of hers from the little chicken salad she ordered (it's more of a basic side salad with avocado and chicken). We had to visit the bar to get a to go box and bag, again, no one check on your tables. I think I'll go elsewhere. read more
Adorable spot with outside seating as well! We were close to sitting outside but the flies were out honey!! Got a nice table in the back by the kitchen. So the menu is a QR code to scan! No actually waiter comes to take your order. I love this idea. You pick what you want, pay through your device. Best thing about this, for large groups that's perfect so no one is fighting over the bill. Another huge plus, your food comes when it's ready. So never any worries about food being cold or warm! Chicken and apple waffles is a must here!! Those waffles crisp outside and fluffy airy center. With pieces of apple, it compliments perfectly with the strawberry butter and white sauce. Chicken PERFECT, crispy and moist! Had the Nashville hot. Was not a fan of the sprinkled cayenne on the pickles. The chicken itself was good, I did order the white meat I ain't expect it to be that dry but it's cool. LOL Do not get the bourbon sweet tea, might as well go to the bar and get a regular drink. That premixed drink no pleasing. It tasted water down, regular tea with bourbon and they had ice in it then sealed it in the fridge. I'll go back for more of those waffles !!! When we arrived the restaurant was full but the hostess got us stated as quickly as possible. The Brunch vibe is unbelievable, with the music pumping and smell of fried chicken and waffles I knew it was going to be good. So many menu options that I wanted to try them all, especially being a girl from the South. Our table had a spread from chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, grits, infused butters, bacon, and fresh fruit (gotta have some ruffage). The servers were attentive and although quite busy the food came out in a reasonable time. The food was great! There wasn't one complaint except for needing a larger stomach. Came here for lunch and was pleasantly impressed by the food!! The loaded fries with chicken and bacon were delicious, I enjoyed them and for a "side" they're huge! Next time I'd get just that, I didn't need the extra chicken but it was reallly tasty so I'm not too upset. Best chicken and waffles I have had in the city (to be fair, I haven't sampled that many) but this place is definitely solid! There is powdered sugar on the waffles so a few bites were too sweet for my taste, but the texture and taste otherwise was great. I've also sampled their chicken sandwich which is solid, and my friend devoured their BEC biscuit and hashbrowns. Prices are solid- $12 cocktails. There can be a wait at peak brunch hours, but there's a great coffee shop next door you can go to while you wait. read more

We had come here pretty late, around midnight. We had ordered a few things including the peach salad, the fried chicken and waffles, the corn and lobster, and the pork belly nuggets. The food took a while to come out but everything was very good and delicious, my family loved it. My favorite was the corn in the lobster, but I also love the fried chicken and waffles. It was super juicy and tender! My parents were raving about it. My least favorite thing was the pork belly nuggets..they weren't that flavorful and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone going there for the first time. It was the only thing on the table that we didn't eat, and we came pretty hungry! I would love to come here for brunch but it was amazing even in the middle of the night! read more

Very rarely do I write Yelp reviews. Very rarely but I had to this time. I visited the Ludlow location on a Sunday for lunch. The location wasn't as crowded as I thought. My dad and I waited 1hr and 6 mins for our food. Yes, I counted. We would've left out earlier but we already paid via the QR code system. It was the longest wait ever that we've had for food and just felt downright disrespectful for chicken and waffles. But that wasn't the main kicker, while eating I noticed that it was a roach on the wall that came out of the signage in the back of the restaurant. We took two-three bits and then left out in such disgust. I will never go back to Sweet Chick at any of the locations and I hope we receive that refund we were promised. read more

We were the 3 of us and bravely decided to do a walk-in for brunch at a few places on LES, on a beautiful sunny Saturday. Off all the places, Sweet Chick was relatively empty and we were hoping to be seated right away. We were put on the waiting list and were told to wait for 40 minutes. It took exactly 40 minutes for us to get our table. Once seated, we ordered a bottle of champagne (St. Vincent @ $40). For food, I got the Kale BLT Salad ($13), and others on got the Shrimp & Grits ($19). Shrimp & Grits was really good and was very flavorful. The Kale Salad on the other hand was not that great and I did not enjoy the house cured Bacon at all. Service was slightly slow to our liking and the staff wasn't that attentive. Although, we did get a pretty good seat - so thanks to our hostess for moving us to the seating we requested! read more
I had to come to see what all the fuzz was about. After a 30 mins wait I finally got to try their chicken and waffles. It was good but nothing out of this world. Chicken was very crispy and well seasoned so that's nice. Waffles were waffles. No much to say. The maple syrup was horrible though. My friend order a bloody mary and she said it was great. Service was ok. Waitress took our order, brought our food, brought the check and that's it. The place is really small and gets crowded. There's no even space to stand. Sweet Chick is always a safe, comforting choice if I'm in the mood for some fried chicken and waffles. I've had several things here, including the Nashville hot chicken & waffles and loaded fries. Their fried chicken is always crispy and juicy - they can sometimes lean on the saltier side, but it's not enough to deter me from coming back. They have plenty of seating and several locations around the city, so you can definitely walk in and find a seat (or if there is a wait, it won't be too long). read more
I was working one night and was so hungry. I did my usual scroll through Ubereats to see what I could find and lo and behold I found this place still open for deliveries. I've always wanted to try this place in person and it was always on my list to try but never found the time to go. I ended up ordering the chicken and waffles with no regrets. The chicken was succulent however they missed my sauce that I ordered and I was disappointed about that. The waffles were so fluffy and soft. I liked their custom butter that they provided. I enjoyed my meal. It didn't seem like much but it definitely hit the spot and will try this spot again. read more

Cons: We came pretty early at 11am to beat the crowd. Unfortunately, a 30-45min becomes 1.15 hour wait for us. It's prob because there's 6 of us. (-1 star) Once you gave your number, you are better off going somewhere till you are called. Our party consisted of 5 adult and 1 baby. We were charged 20% for a large party even though the baby didn't eat anything. That's pretty silly cause it's charged per body. (-1star) Pros: the chicken and waffles were pretty good. Portion was bigger than what most reviews mentioned. The waffles were crunchy and were accompanied with tasty butters. Bloody Mary was pretty tasty as well. read more

Wow, this place actually exceeded my expectations. All of my food was really good. I really enjoyed the chicken and waffles I got. The waffles were cooked well and the chicken was flavorful. And the flavors tied very well into each other. The various flavored butters were a nice touch. The strawberry was my favorite. The lemon was excellent too. I wasn't a fan of the rosemary. Having options is nice though. It made every bite of the meal new and exciting. The real star of the meal was the Mac and cheese. I was full and I still kept going for more Mac n cheese. It was shell pasta, thick cheese, bread crumbs, absolutely delicious. Also very filling. The drinks are small. I decided to be different and get the Bellini instead of the mimosa. I probably might have like the mimosa better. Next time I'll try that. The Bellini was okay. Nothing special. The service was okay. We were seated quickly. Nothing about the service really stood out. But the vibe of the restaurant was nice. It was a smaller place. A little cramped in the back but not uncomfortable, especially if you're smaller like me. There are nice window seats available, which are two seaters. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu! read more
