The food was amazing, chicken was flavorful, and tender. My waffles were made to perfection and with the added vanilla glaze I didn't even need syrup! The music brought a good vibe to the atmosphere. All the staff was very kind and welcoming. The manager even turned off the heat because we were right by the kitchen and it was burning up. But that just showed how accommodating they were and it was very appreciated. I definitely recommend the chicken and waffles with the vanilla glaze if you ever try!
I had never been to a Sweet Chick before but had heard great things about their other locations. I realized there was one nearby and decided to give it a try. The space was open, inviting, and super cute. The food -- especially the chicken -- was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the waffles had that perfect crunch. I also ordered a cocktail I believe Queen of NY, which was strong and delicious, though I wish it had been a little less sweet. My partner and I came here for brunch, and the only downside was that they didn't offer coffee -- a bit surprising for a brunch spot. That said, the service was fast and attentive, which made for an overall great experience.
What a delicious meal! My partner took me here as I've never had Sweet Chick and now I can't get enough of it! The environment and the staff were so friendly and welcome. Although I didn't get the name of the server who helped us, he had really great energy and was very warm to all the customers there. My favorite dish that night was actually their crispy Brussels sprouts. I didn't know they could taste that good and I kept eating them. The chicken was perfect - no comments. The butters were fun! I really liked their berry butter. I got my waffles with the apple cinnamon and while it was good, I don't think it showed up as much and maybe wasn't really needed. All in all this was a great meal and now if I want chicken and waffles, I know where to go.
No matter which location I visit, sweet chick absolutely never ever fails. The last time I went , I ordered the jalapeno cheddar hush puppies. Which were nice crispy savory and spicy. Very flavorful , with the cheddar contrasting the jalapeño. For my aunt ray I decided to have the apple cinnamon waffles with the chipotle chicken. This meal was not only filling but also mesmerizing and wonderfully done. The contrast between the apple cinnamon waffle and the chipotle chicken gave a very sweet vs. heat competition that I absolutely love. I love sweet chick happy and absolutely full as per usual and I will always support some sweet chick.
I've been wanting to come here for soooooooo long and I'm so happy I finally did!!! The chicken and waffles were so good. Chicken was crispy, waffles were crispy. Even better with the maple syrup on top Loaded fries are also always a good idea and I loved the bacon and jalapeño on it Will deff be back!!
Have you ever gone been the one to suggest a place, and then it falls through? That's what happened here. We had the option to go here or to a different restaurant and because I've been here a few times before (but not enough to be considered a regular) I suggested we come here. I checked to see if there was a way to make resys, and that wasn't an option that I noticed, so we just went as walk-ins. It was a Wednesday and about 6pm. When we walked in, I noticed there were people sitting to the side waiting to be seated, but they had a larger party they were waiting for. The back area was empty, and a few tables were empty up front, but the bar was pretty full. We walked in and waited a few minutes , and eventually, we were acknowledged by the bartender who said our table would be ready shortly. While waiting, some regulars walked in and seated themselves in the back and at the bar, notifying the bartender of where they were going. Maybe their party was there so I was minding my business. Although a few tables were already cleaned and set up, we we told to wait for one being cleaned from guests who just left, but no problem. We were told to go sit in the table just wiped down, and I was given some menus and informed water would be brought over. Guests for two other tables came in and were seated pretty quickly, and the person tending the bar came over to bring them water and take their orders as well. Now, with it being allergy season, and although I carry around a bottle of water in case I get choked up, I ran out. So I felt a coughing fit coming on, and since we still hadn't received any water or service at all at this point, I got up and went to the bar to ask for some water. The bartender who stated we were going to get water 2 tables and 15-20 mins ago stops me on my way up there and basically reprimands me saying "sit 'sweetie' I got you! " I'm trying to explain to him how I actually needed water then, and he's telling me that he's coming as if it was just my not being patient. I could have said something more or ignored him and got water anyway but I wanted to see how this played out so I went back to the table and sat and waited and started coughing as I knew would happen and he eventually came over after chatting with some friends or locals that came in and another table. Finally, he comes over to bring our table a bottle of water. At that point, he then he took our order. We informed him that at this juncture the dessert (slice of cake) that we were ordering we wanted packed up to go, because we knew our timing and he proceeded to tell us we can take our time and chill and have it afterwards.... Fast forward, we get our food after a while. And we have no utensils. Yes, we have chicken for a portion of the meal, but we also had food that needed forks... At no point did our server come to check on us to find out if we were good or if anything was needed when our food was delivered. He did enjoy the camaraderie of the regulars who stopped by and those who seemed to be friends. In no way would I ever say or suggest to ignore those who are your regulars because that's how you keep them, but also don't ignore those who you think are new or you just don't notice because that prevents them from returning. We were able to get another servers attention and asked for to go boxes and then adked for the check. We basically were seated to get our food to go. One star is for the other server who came up to assist, (female, pretty brown- skin, pony tail, average height and nice demeanor) and another star for the person bringing out dishes and running back and forth seemingly bringing dishes from storage (male, latino, braids, about 5'3, -5'5 very polite). This really took away from my previous experiences there, and I doubt I'd plan to return anytime in the near future.
A bit disappointed in this place as it was actually on my list of food spots to try when coming to New York. It's in a pretty busy area at night with bustling nightlife and lots of other food options. The interior is cute and intimate, and the music was on point. My husband and I ordered two salads, a 10 piece wings and a three-piece, tender, and fry to go. After ordering, we went and walked around the area a bit, then came back and sat and waited for our food while waiting we noticed that the restaurant really started to pick up at the bar and table seating after 30 minutes. I asked the bartender about our food, but she said he would check When he came back. He had our food. I'm thinking it was sitting there for a while since we only had two salads, some wings, and a few tenders. I do feel the service could've been better, especially seeing as I actually tipped for that to go, which was something new I'm trying out that doesn't seem to be going well when getting back to our hotel and trying it, we were not fans at all of the maple chipotle wings. They were bland and really just not that good. My sesame ginger salad could have been better if it had more dressing that came with it. My husband's Caesar salad was good. My sister's tenders and fries were okay. She said she liked the tenders, but not so much the fries. I would not return to this restaurant.
Ate here on the night of the Jake Paul/Mike Tyson fight and it was a vibe (as always though). I've had sweet chick a few times and it never disappoints no matter what I try. On this occasion I tried the vanilla glaze chicken & waffles with plain chicken tenders. Absolutely tasty combo. I also have had the OG chicken sandwich & chicken & waffles with honey soy garlic tenders and that was also so tasty. I highly recommend trying ALL of those things on ALL the many times you (should) go to Sweet Chick. It's also a great vibe in there, just like a classic NY vibe with great service and kind workers all around. Definitely a must try if you're visiting NYC or even if you've lived there and never had it!

I've never tried fried chicken and waffles, but I've heard of the dish many times. Today was a spontaneous brunch occasion with some old college buddies. I am glad we chose to brunch at Sweet Chick. We arrived at the restaurant on a Monday morning (they open at 11 AM) and it quickly became filled. Their brunch and cocktail menu is short and simple, with easy to understand, straight to the point, and unpretentious descriptions of food and drink items. We ordered the fried chicken and waffles with bacon and cheddar, eggs (sunny side up) and home fries w/ toast and a side of home cured bacon, and lemonade. The fried chicken and waffles came with 3 small sides of different butters. Food was very delicious, filling, and comforting. What surprised me the most in this place is their portions are HUGE. You are definitely getting your moneys worth at this place. I left the restaurant feeling very full and satisfied. I would definitely come back here again just for their fried chicken and waffles and maybe their cocktails if I do feel like drinking alcohol. A little slice of the south in NYC, going to college in the south I got accustomed to southern breakfast. Everything on the menu is on par with what I've experienced in the south. This is a great, cool spot to come to. A good friend of mine was running late and so I took a seat at the bar in the mean time. The bartender was awesome, polite, and great to talk to. He answered all of my questions on bartending and was easy going. The dining experience was already off to a great start before my friend even came in. They have great biscuits and butter and jam here. I ordered the shrimp and cheese grits and my friend ordered steak and eggs. I came here another time with my boyfriend who ordered the special of peanut butter friend chicken with a blueberry waffle. He said the combination was unexpectedly good. I had the chicken and waflles with the french fries and it was sooo good! Before I came another time and had the chicken sandwich and that was good so I trusted the chicken since then and no disappointment on the fried side. The tea is always a hit or miss with restaurants, this was tolerable. My boyfriend didn't like the fact that his garlic chicken wasn't fried like mine so he didn't like his meal. But overall, it was a pretty packed day but we still got our food in time to make our train, so would I go again, yeah! read more

Popped in last minute on a thirsty Thursday with a friend, and managed to snag a table before the dinner rush. First thing that hits you is that sweet smell of butter and batter (yaassss) Music is a tad loud, but it's good music, and the atmosphere is still fun. Our server was sassy and loads of fun. Mango Lemonade: So delicious when converted to a boozy version with a little gin - perfect summer drink. Purple Drank: Gin, Lemon, Lime, Simple Syrup, Egg White, Welch's Grape Soda - liked the idea...but the execution didn't work for us. No one likes warm soda! Pork Belly Nuggets: Kimchi, Blueberry Balsamic Glaze, Pickled Watermelon - this was all sorts of awesome. the juicy pork belly was perfectly cut by the acidity in the pickled watermelon, and that blueberry balsamic glaze? I just want to brush that all over someone, *cough* I mean some toast and eat it up. Burrata and Fried Green Tomatoes: Mint & Sunflower Pesto and Strawberries - this is the perfect love child of classic Italian mozz and tomatoes gone south. Creamy burrata blended with minty pesto, sweet, sweet strawberries and crunchy fried green tomatoes? I want this as "salad" for lunch in perpetuity. Fried Chicken and waffles! We couldn't decide what to order, so we decided to go with the classic fried chicken and chose the rosemary mushroom waffles. The skin was crisp, juicy, and flavorful, but the chicken was just a little drier than we wanted - nothing a little syrup and butter couldn't fix. Loved the rosemary mushroom waffles. Butters: yes butter gets it's own category since you get three with your order - berry, herb, and lemon honey (lemon honey was the unanimous favorite of the night) All in all, I'm definitely a fan! read more

~ Sweet C H I C K ~ Sweet Chick sure is SWEET! We're obsessed with their fun and playful combinations of chicken and waffles from General Tso to Chicken Parmesan. You can't go wrong starting out with a serving of warm, comforting corn bread and their Mac n Cheese is heavenly and cheesy goodness for the soul. Even better than their delicious food is having servers who were warm and friendly upon entry all the way to dessert. We came in for an early dinner and were seated after about a twenty minute wait. Only downside is that Sweet Chick in the LES gets filled quickly and this can call for an extended wait if you don't plan ahead. We really appreciated our waiter who gave us the inside scoop on his favorite chicken and waffle pairings. Sweet Chick has so many locations, too, making it a perfect choice for a date night no matter where we are. Yes, I went to the LES Sweet Chick on Thursday and the Williamsburg one on Saturday. Maybe it was because I wasn't that hungry and just got the Kale BLT salad, or because they were in that awkward between lunch and dinner period or because they played weird rock music here instead of hip hop, but I like the BK location better. I like this part of LES and its cute inside, but I like the original best. Still a fan though! read more

A simple menu is always a good sign as a restaurant has probably perfected the ones they have. Our server was super attentive and even fixed our wobbly table without asking. The food came out very quickly and we got the chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, and eggs benny. I thought the waffles were soft and perfectly crisp outside, the chicken was tender and juice which great spiced breading - enough for two people with an app. The shrimp and grits was full of flavor and cooked perfectly - but only really enough for one person. Came here with my parents on a Monday night. The décor is wooden with communal tables. It's fairly spacious and the setting seems like a good place get some good fried chicken. Now the food: Mac and cheese: this was recommended by our server. It's more like shell and cheese as they used shells instead of macaroni. The cheese is nice and it tasted good. But it didn't really wow me and there wasn't much of the burned cheese crust I usually like on my Mac and cheese. Hush puppies: also recommended by our server. It's not bad. Fried chicken with cheddar and bacon waffle: fried chicken was awesome. It was well made with nice moisture and breading. They gave me a breast and a wing, but I would usually prefer dark meat, a thigh and drumstick. I guess I should have told them. The waffle was a bit disappointing. It was cold and the bacon was just large pieces sprinkled on top. Tl;dr, it's a solid place to get fried chicken. The waffles were disappointing. It's at a good location, so I will likely come back if I have the cravings for fried chicken. read more

This was my first time at this establishment, and I enjoyed my visit to the lower east location.? The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The staffers/bartenders were very friendly and professional. Did I forget to mention the music? Loved it. My only issue is the restrooms; they need to focus more on keeping the bathrooms a bit neater. read more

Had the pork belly nuggets to start. It was interesting. I can't say I was a huge fan of the pickled watermelon (esp the rind), but the kimchi, pork belly, and the blueberry sauce worked really well together. Interesting to try among a group, but I wouldn't order it again. I had the Nashville chicken à la carte with grits on the side. The Nashville chicken is the most popular according to the waitress. It was really good and flavorful...not actually spicy though. The chicken was super moist on the inside. The grits were really plain, but doused in hot sauce, it was good and very filling. We went around 7pm on a Friday night and there was no wait. It was really dark, but I didn't mind. They played really chill r&b music (SZA, Daniel Caesar, Kehlani vibes). Overall, food was good and service was good, but I wouldn't rave about it like I've heard people do. read more

Even during quarantine and with a smaller menu, Sweet Chick continues to serve wonderful food and good vibes. There's outdoor and indoor dining dining and no waiter service. Sweet Chicks - disclaimer I am a southerner who loves shrimp and grits. 7 out of 10 The shrimp were plentiful, plump and very tasty - the grits (somebody don't know nothin bout no grits) in the south gravy hides and make anything good...the sauce/gravy too much grits bland almost tasted like cream cheese - naw nope! The $4 biscuit - dry and yesterday - but the 3 tasting butters amazing. My mama would havr slapped me foe payong $4 for one small biscuit. Not sure the purpose of a poached egg on top, but i ate it Catfish - amazing with okra. Now...dem earned their southern card back foe that dish - it was amazing. read more

Ring in the new year 2018 with optimism and strength. New Year's Day lunch was packed and a one hour wait for a table with large parties and couples flock to attain their grits or biscuits; however, as a party of one to sit at the bar there was a slight wait but placing my name to be on the waiting list was not required. I was not intimidated nor discouraged as a party of one nor break my spirit of enjoying a good meal but determined. Sweet Chick in LES is cozy and inviting and I have always enamored infinity for chicken and waffles. Postcards are the substitute for business cards. Chicken and Waffles $17 Classic Belgian waffles and 2 pcs fried chicken One breast and one drumstick in dark meat as both are very moist and tender as the skin is crispy flavorful prepared very well. The fried skin was not rock hard nor dry. The state of fried food which bite me later added to my weight increase, calories and added cholesterol level but for the short time it was enjoyable. Three types of butters were offered for the waffles: regular, herbal and cranberry. Pancake syrup was also provided. The waffles were fluffy, crunchy, and fresh. This entrée is absolutely delicious! Mimosa $11 It tasted like Bellini as it was too remote for any orange juice but I certainly tasted peach purée. It was served in a small Mason jar. The server George appeared sluggish to keep up with a packed restaurant full of patrons on New Year's Day 2018 and malcontent to work on a holiday. I never saw a smile formed nor any fake illusion of content for being alive another day. My order was slow to be fulfilled as I saw other patrons who arrived later whose food orders were fulfilled first. I also had to request for utensils which were not provided upon being seated at the bar. Water was not immediately provided as the first thing but later into my dinning experience. I had to flag George several times which he was not, overall, attentive who quickly assumed I was finished with my entrée and quickly removed my plate when I reacted by quickly snatching a bite into the chicken's crispy skin and dark meat. It was the last crumbs on my plate. It left a flavorful moist fried crispy but content impression. Good food quality. The hostess appears lost and fend the "I don't know" and shrugging her shoulders attitude when asked "how long is the wait for a table?" or "can I put my name on the waiting list for party of one at the bar?" and "do you have a business card?" Her responses were very vague, going in circles, lack confidence or poor communication skills. Clearly this female hostess lack enthusiasm to serve patrons upon entering the premises. Good brunch place in the city. The place is new and is still not well known so it doesn't have a 2 hour wait list like other places in the area. The decor reminded me of Brooklyn. A hipster vibe. Simple. Casual. No fuss. The food was good. I ordered pancakes and they came with three flavored butters which was cool. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp and grits. I tried some and it was very good. I would defiantly give them 4.5 starts for food. The only reason it is not a 5 is because I have been spoiled with some very good places in Montreal and I am particular about brunch. I liked that the place had good food, pleasant service and a short wait while it was still pretty full. read more
I'm usually really picky about my waffles, but these were so fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The three creams that came on the side totally elevated those waffles onto a whole other level. My favourite was definitely the lemon cream! Couldn't get enough of it. The chicken was also yummy and tender, but I just wish there was a little more kick to the seasoning in the batter. I think a little spice would make it even better but all in all, this was a super satisfying meal. read more

Great food, great Music, great drinks! The service might be a bit slow on a Saturday night for dinner but it's worth it! The staff are friendly and approachable. The food is incredible. I came with a party of 10 and everyone left satisfied. The strawberry lemonade spiked is awesome. It's refreshing and not too sweet. Shrimp and grits dish was amazing. The grits were rich and buttery flavored. The shrimp were a good size not too small. One con was they had the tails. I never feel like shrimp is fully cleaned with the tail but I just cut it off no biggie. Everyone else legit had chicken and waffles which they bragged at how good it was. Sunday | 1120AM Eggs Benny Came as a party of two and luckily seated immediately as it seemed busy as we waltzed towards the back. Parties of four could suffice but 6+ will be tough but there are tables big enough. Busy enough to wait about 10 minutes before the waiter came to serve water. Service was slow throughout the time. Originally came here because I saw multiple versions of chicken w/waffles to find out that the fun menu was only dinner. So sad. Eggs Benny, presentation was nice and was okay, the dressing on the salad was extremely salty. Must've had a happy saucin hand. Obviously I should've got the chicken & waffles but had it two days in a row and was hoping to get special chicken & waffles. Had a bite of the egg, cheese and bacon bagel and that tasted better. Though I'm always for an oozing Benny. Would I ever come back? Yes to try the special chicken & waffles menu! read more

YUM YUM YUM!!! Have been wanting to try this place for a year.. finally went! Went for Saturday brunch and there was a 15-20 minute wait but the host offered the bar seats to lessen the waiting time. He was very nice about seating! Now, the food.. I don't even have to say. It was just delicious. Had the eggs benny with smoked chicken and smoked ham. Gahh so good! My friend had the sweet chick waffle and that was yummy too!! Next time, I'm gonna go get the chicken & waffle!! read more
By far my favorite southern restaurant in the city! I often find the fried chicken way too greasy and can't eat after one piece. But the fried chicken here is perfect, tender but not too greasy. Cocktails were interesting and great too! read more
Look I like chicken and waffles and I like this place. I've had dinner here before and ordered delivery here off of the Caviar. The food here is delicious and the chicken is free range and they use great ingredients. However my friends and I recently had a less then perfect experience eating there during there "in between time" which is 4-6. Frankly unless you want straight up chicken and waffles or mac and cheese I would avoid this 2 hour window. Service took forever and the waitress/hostess (short grey hair) was sassy and off putting. 5 stars for the food but I have to take off 1 star. read more
