If you live in the Bay Area, you may have passed by this place around brunch time and see a huge line of people, especially so if it's a weekend. The crowd is well deserved, as I consider this the best brunch place in the bay. Parking is very difficult. The restaurants parking is very small and the other nearby restaurants do not allow you to park there. You'll most likely have to go around the local neighborhood and find some street parking. If you want to avoid a long wait, plan to come on a weekday. The lines on a weekend I've seen to sometimes reach around 1 - 2 hours wait. You join the waitlist with a small tablet in front of the restaurant. You can also choose between indoor and outdoor seating, where outdoor seating may have a shorter wait time. This place is also best experienced with a friend or a small group! A must order for a first timer is the Millionaire's Bacon Platter, which comes with 4 different flavors of their special bacon: original, rosemary, cinnamon, and citrus. My personal favorites are the rosemary and the original. If you're looking for something on the lighter side, I'd recommend getting one of their egg dishes. I like getting a Benedict, specifically the Hemingway Benedict.it comes with 2 large Benedict's with smoked salmon and wasabi hollandaise (don't worry it's not spicy). It also comes with potatoes and some veggies. The Benedict is delicious! The wasabi hollandaise pairs well with the smoked salmon, even better if you get in with some of the egg yolk too. There was a fan going in certain areas, but in other areas, it was just really really warm. So when you're also eating warm foods, it got quite toasty (no pun intended). I added our group of 4 to the Yelp waitlist kiosk and to our surprise, we were seated outside about 5-8 minutes after that. Pretty efficient! My BF and I got two things to share: + Francis Skillet (4/5) ($25) : An egg souffle that comes with chicken mango sausage, crispy bacon, and a brussel/potato medley! The egg souffle tasted aamaazing, I loved how fluffy the egg was. The chicken sausage and bacon were definitely a bit salty, but the egg helped to balance that out. I had no idea that there was a Cupertino location. I came with my husband and in-laws over the weekend. We came really early and got sat at 9:15 AM. The parking really sucks if you're not here early enough. The Matcha latte is so tasty as well as the Matcha croffle . Those are probably my favorite items on the menu. My husband got breakfast tacos, and the Ube cold brew. My mother-in-law had a soufflé of some kind and my father in law had the loco moco. We got buttered corn as an appetizer as well as the millionaires bacon. They loved their Matcha and Ube lattes too. Overall, we had a really pleasant experience. The one issue I had was they kept adding tables near us, and so it was really crammed, and we could barely hear each other towards the end of our meal. They have a small outdoor patio and a good size indoor dining area which is where we sat. The inside is very light and airy with gold and blue accents. I was impressed at the crowd inside and excited to try the food. Service was just okay but we'll get to that in a minute. Here's what we ordered: VANILLA LATE - came out pipping hot and tasty. MILLIONAIRES BACON SAMPLER - it's bacon so obviously it's good. FRANCIS SKILLET - this was a huge disappointment. The eggs had no flavor and the crumbled sausage on top was just odd. I ordered a side of hollandaise sauce which helped a bit. We really liked the medley of potatoes and Brussels that came with this. CHICKEN CROFFLE - my daughter liked this but I wasn't a fan. They use chicken thighs so the pieces were juicy and the breading was super crispy but it had no flavor like it needed salt. The Croffle (smooshed croissant) was greasy. Came here for a weekday brunch with a few friends. Food was tasty but be prepared for a pretty big bill. My friends and I each ordered a drink and our own entree with corn fritters and millionaire's bacon to share, and the total for 4 people was close to $300. The millionaire's bacon is tasty but personally not worth at $14 for two strips- it's just basically candied pork belly. If you've ever been to Berkeley Social Club, this restaurant is extremely similar in its Korean/Asian fusion foods. We went on a holiday so it was PACKED. Expect a wait of up to an hour on busy days, and note that you can only join their Yelp waitlist in person. The line to check in and the line to join the waitlist kept getting muddied, so some crowd control should be implemented on busier days. We got outdoor seating, which was doable but a bit cramped and we were partway in the sun (unideal for a midday brunch vibe). Parking was also extremely limited as their lot is tiny, so you'll most likely have to scour for street parking. I personally think this place was alright, but with all factors considered I would probably go elsewhere for brunch. [tl;dr Quick seating, quick service; food was yummy and well seasoned overall but did not taste spice on dishes that should've had it, drinks were tasty - good experience overall - why so much rosemary?] Came on a Sunday with a friend @ around 1:30. Didn't wait too long, maybe about 15 minutes. The building reminds me of a beach shack with a nice open patio. We were seated outside on a warm day and lucky there was a breeze. I got the Tornado Kalbi Omurice and ube latte while my friend got the Chicken Croffle and matcha latte (asked for regular milk). The food came out quick for a busy restaurant; those guys in the back work pretty hard. [tl;dr really solid omurice when eaten together, but kalbi and gravy are sweet by itself] I was expecting the omurice have a small spice kick to it (as there was a spice pepper next to it on the menu) but there was none. This is not a typically prepared omurice you'd find at Japan but still presented nicely. The scrambled egg was cooked perfectly- solid bottom with a barely wet top and was presented with a swirl (see photo). The kalbi with it was sweeter than I am usually used to and I noticed that the gravy itself is very sweet so properly portioning it with the rest of the food really balances out the flavor. The ube latte good, I requested light whipped cream but they gave me a full portion. I can taste the ube flavor but once the whipped cream was mixed in there it was like another milkshake. I rather skip the cream altogether. No coconut flavor in it thank goodness. [tl;dr chicken is good but lacks flavor by itself, croffle was a hit too chewy in the middle] I had a taste of my friend's chicken and croffle with the "spicy" syrup. Chicken was moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside but lack flavor. When I tried it with the spicy honey maple syrup, there was like a speck of what I think was spice. The corffle was a surprise to me. It was crunchy then chewy but when I got another bite it was too chewy. It was first time with it so I had no idea what to expect. Lastly, we shared a Millionaire's Candy and I thought it was good but nothing special. Though I will say it's not overwhelmingly sugary like other places do it. I'd compare it to Dunkin's seasonal sweet maple bacon, it is more cost effective to buy that if don't care for actual bacon. Paid like $80 before tip. My visit to Sweet maple today was just for a causal brunch with my girl. My first initial impressions of the joint was extremely positive. The dining room was clean, the decorations, and mood were really nice. I was immediately greeted by the hosts and they were quick too! I waited around 15 mins max. Took a long drive to meet my girlfriend there for a brunch. Been seeing this on Instagram with pretty presentations so decided to give it a go. 1st of all, no reservation so you put yourself on the waiting list when you arrive. We got there around 10:30 am on Sunday and the wait was just about 20 minutes. We got the pimped up Raman, pandan waffles and avocado croffle. For drinks we got Ube latte and rose latte. I love Shin ramen but never know it could look this sexy! I might need to start serving my instant noodles this way in the future! Pandan had a special in my heart so I would love the waffles more if the flavor was stronger. I barely tasted the pandan. The waffles had chewy mochi inserts so it made the waffles more interesting. I always have a weakness for food made with glutinous/sweet rice so this made up for the lack of pandan flavor. The avocado croffle or croissant/waffle was not only pretty to look at, it was pretty tasty. There is a saying in Chinese that all food must have "color/visual, fragrance, and tasty" 色香味。The food at sweet maple definitely has color and taste. Not much on the fragrance, but good enough. However, I feel like this place is built for the "Gram" more than for the taste buds. I ordered an ube latte and it was super grainy. Hit Sweet Maple at opening on Memorial day knowing it would get busy later. There were a couple groups ahead of us and by the time we were seated the line doubled. Staff is booking around there so do yourself a favor chat with friends/family after deciding what you want so they can get your orders in and you can get on to enjoying the company and the food. Been there once before with a friend and this time with family. No clue what we got the first time but I think I got an Ube latte as they were able to accommodate a nut allergy. You can trust that I will leave a review for some other establishment if their ube latte game is strong and needs to be tried out, but this place isn't it. - Mimosa Flight: Decent, meets the standard for most places that offer mimosa flights. - Millionaire's Bacon: I forget what the backstory is on why it's named that, but it was decent (didn't like the cinnamon flavored one as much though), though if you just go to Costco, buy the high quality bacon there, top it with the ingredients seen in the picture, you could probably do just as good with it at home. - Mochi Waffle: Probably my favorite thing there, loved the texture and bite of the waffle. - Salmon Benedict: I think they tried way too hard and added way too many things that were unnecessary towards an otherwise simple dish. If you told me that they took the salmon benedict, chucked it through some flowerbed or vegetable garden, then plated it, I would believe you, because that's pretty much how it tasted. - Loco Moco: I'm a self proclaimed loco moco enjoyer. This was the most delightful looking, worst tasting loco moco I may have ever tried so far. The gravy was all top note salt flavor, with absolutely no rounded out flavor. It was like the gravy was missing the base stock or not balanced out with sugar. Also the ground beef was overcooked/used a really lean blend that just made it tough. Also they used jasmine rice, which in my strong opinion it is STRONGLY recommended to use short grain Japanese rice for loco moco. It just tastes a bit off when it's longer grain, of course this is just a strong opinion of mine, maybe you like Jasmine rice on loco moco, that's fine too, but the best ones I've had IMO all had short grain rice, and it's what the original recipe calls for, anyways. Overall I thought it was just okay. Good for taking pics though, their presentation game is strong, I'll give them that. read more

Went here for brunch with a group of friends and it was a nice time! I really enjoyed the open feeling of the restaurant, with plenty of natural light from the windows. Overall it's a very cute location, and we were lucky to snag a parking spot. The service was attentive and the servers know the menu well. Food took a bit of time which was fine since we were a party of 6. The food was good, unique fusion options that weren't spectacular but solid for what it was! We got the: Blueberry mochi waffles - 6.5/10, these were good off the bat, but the texture was not very mochi-like imo. The texture was much more so of like a protein powder waffle. Very light blueberry flavor from the waffle itself and it got pretty tiring to eat after a while, as it's quite dense (so eat these fast LOL). The compote and cream made the dish. Breaky tacos - 8.5/10, these were really good! The meat is flavorful and it pairs well with all the toppings. Eaten with the potatoes and brussel sprouts were tasty. The pickled onions also gave it a nice bite. Potatoes are on the saltier side. Millionaires Bacon Flight - 8.5/10, each piece had its own unique flavor profile, and it was fun trying them all out! We all liked the original but the cinnamon one really impressed us. Wished they had more crisp to them, but pretty good nonetheless! I think this is a great place to go for a nice ambiance, and I would be open to trying more of their menu, but for my first visit I would say it was just alright :) read more

We came here with a large group on a Saturday morning and waited around an hour for a table, which feels on par with other popular brunch places in the area. We got the blueberry mochi waffles (5/5), which had a wonderful chewy texture and were one of my favorite dishes. Of course everyone enjoyed the millionaire's bacon (5/5), which we added on to our order with the waffles. We also got a Hass omelette (4/5), which was chock full of toppings and satisfied my husband's love for omelettes. Glad we don't have to trek to San Francisco for millionaire's bacon. I've gone here a few times but just recently stopped by for breakfast with a new baby. The food and usual is 5/5. I got the chicken croffle which is beautifully plated. You get two tasty pieces of fried chicken layered between croissant waffles served with fruits sprinkled on the edge of the plate and Vermont syrup. My husband tried the breakup tacos which was very tasty as well and came with fluffy eggs, galby and sides of fresh salsa and their crispy potatoes and brussels. The cold brew was nice and strong. Fyi the Ube latte doesn't come with coffee so get it "dirty" to have espresso added. In addition to the beautiful brunch dishes they are also very family friendly. They have high chairs and the servers were so kind in bringing my baby plastic cutlery and a plastic cup of water without me asking for anything. Thank you! I felt happy to bring my family here and we'll definitely be back. They have a private lot and get quite busy around brunch so go early to beat the line. read more

Came here for the first time on Sunday at about 10:45am. It was PACKED! There is limited parking but I got lucky and snagged a spot. Definitely be prepared for a wait to be seated. At the front podium theres a sign saying to join the waitlist on Yelp. I think it was about 45 minutes for 3 of us to be seated, which for brunch on a Sunday with no reservations really isn't bad. Service was great! I was bummed they didn't have the tai tea toast on the menu, but they have plenty of delicious menu options. I got the "Millionaire's scramble" I believe, and the Nutty Affogato. Both were delish. The potatoes and Brussels side is so good. It's a potato medley including standard, purple and sweet potatoes and they're so crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Just brussel sprout leaves, not chunks of them. I love brussies so I'd be happy either way. Anyways so good! If you're celebrating a special occasion, as we were, it's a fun spot that's worth the wait! read more

I have always heard good things about Sweet Maple, the SF location. Glad that there's one open in South Bay now! Shared the tornado galbi omurice and the sweet maple scramble. The omurice had good tomato flavor, which was complemented well by the sauce and galbi. It would be nice if there was more meat, for better rice to meat combo ratio. The sweet maple scramble had a flavorful blend of root vegetables and brussel sprouts (would have liked more sprouts) with a decadent blend of flavors in the scramble. Overall, would the food 7.5/10 -- room for richer blend of flavors, but is a good blend of Asian and American flavors. The coffee was okay, 3/5. The flavor could be better, but definitely scratches the itch for coffee. Service was quick! Waited about 15-20 min on a Sunday morning to be seated around 10am. Server was very kind. Sat out on the patio, so it was a bit hot but there was good shade from the umbrellas. read more
