Millionaire bacon - original style is my thing. They do it in all sorts of other flavors but I stick with the original. Little sweet and little spicy. My favorite was actually the tornado egg omurice (without the spice). It reminded me of a mix of a homey Japanese and Korean dish. So good. Egg is cooked so perfectly fluffy and elegantly and the sauce is so good. There can be a long line outside but don't be discouraged. It looked crowded so I started ordering for takeout, but simultaneously I went on the waitlist, and after I ordered, we got a table inside (it was cold outside so most people didn't want to sit outside so I figured we had no shot). So they were kind enough to move our takeout to dine-in and of course then we ordered more. It can get very crowded so sometimes things move fast and they may not be as friendly but service is good; they're just trying to be efficient I think so everyone can enjoy a great meal! Tables are close together and it can get a little loud, so may not be the place if you're looking for a quiet romantic breakfast or something like that. Parking can get crowded but just be patient. It was my wife's bday in a hot summer and we decided to go here for brunch. The area had plenty of parking around the building, some lots along the fence have trees shading them. When walking up to the front door, you'll notice some tables for outside seating but, we didn't go for that since it was 90F degrees outside. When we got in, we were greeted immediately and was given seats within less than 2 mins. The menu looked neat and our waiter was kind enough for us to read through the menu. My wife seems to always order chicken and waffles from any brunch/lunch restaurants and goes about comparing them all so she went with the Croffle from their menu and I went for the Loco Moco. Tbh, I didn't know what I ordered, I saw "kimchi" in the context of the meal I chose and just went for it. We both definitely loved our meals, I ate half of mine and wife did with hers too. Then, we swapped plates for each other to try the order. Loco was definitely juicy and the pink onion probably had that taste to reset your palette (taste buds). The chicken and waffle is definitely on the well prepped side. Some places prepped their chickens with cheap or simple breading that it just falls off easily or is soggy if the chicken isn't cooked to a dry texture. Sweet Maple done this well, they have attention to detail for that and the waffle reminds me of those from Costco and just had it stuck into a waffle marker, what ever they did, it's still good. Our first time visiting this cafe and had high hopes. Overall it was meh . Parking nightmare to get into the lot, but found a spot after 5 minutes of just trying to enter. Ambiance: very pretty but inside is VERY LOUD so you can't have a conversation without shouting at your partner, which then people seated right next to you can now hear everything you need to say to your partner. Tables too close together that getting seated or served means either your butt is in a strangers face or the servers but is in your face. ‍ really wished we had asked for a table outside. Coming afar, we figured it was best to give them a heads up...but no, 1/2 the order was missing and there were only 2 things that we ordered. Is there something I missed on the phone call, "Fon"? The dish isn't worth the price, but also there's nothing special about the dish itself. If anything, the potatoes are a little bit better than other breakfast places but everything else is average. As for the coffee: it tastes like any other cold brew. The ube foam is subtle, which is ok because I'm not a huge fan of sweet coffee but that's subjective. There's no reservation allow at this spot so we were only able to join the waiting list that would make us wait approximately 1hr to be able to seat us down. This was at 11:00am. The food was decent at best. It's extremely crowded. I went with my partner and his friends and they enjoy mostly their coffee specialties. Would I come here again? Probably not, but it's a nice place to try for the very first time. Also I order extra hollandaise sauce and my waitress didn't charge me extra. Which is nice. Please arrive early. Excited that they were able to open up another location! Their Palo Alto location was always so busy. Even so though, this place is still super packed on weekends. I wish they would open up the waitlist on the yelp app so it wouldn't get too crowded waiting outside. Plus their parking is a little confusing but it looks like you can park in the next lot over too so that helps with how busy it gets. The food is great as always. There's always a line at this place! So we decided to go early and arrive before 10am on Sunday to improve our luck. We got there at 9:45 and there was a short line for Yelp waitlist. Damn, I said to myself and prayed the wait wasn't long. There were at least 10 small groups ahead of us, party of 3. However, the wait was only 3 minutes and we got called upon. The inside was bright with lots of big windows. I love the natural lights and the bright white interior that is very soothing and relaxing for a morning. Service was very good despite how packed and busy it looked. Our water was refilled 3 times, order was taken timely and our food came in no time from a handsome bus boy who smiled from ear to ear. The food was no different from the Palo Alto store. The ube latte was good, made with ube powder and milk with foam. The egg soufflé dish was massive in volume. I went on a Friday for breakfast while in town for work back in February of last year. I was greatly impressed. Sweet Maple is located at a walking distance from the Santa Monica harbor which gives you an incredible view on your way there ( I walked). The service was incredible with great attention to details - I ordered the Mariner French toast with a side of the chicken sausage. DELICIIOUUUUS - the picture does do it justice. I also ordered a seasonal latte - they had available at the time, and my server quickly noticed that I did not enjoy it. It was a great surprise when one of the owner came to my table to get some feedback and my thoughts on the drink and how to improve it. She went back, and made the adjustments to my liking. Our latest favorites are the croffle (as a side or with the fried chicken combo) is to die for! There always seems to be a ton of people at Sweet Maple, whether it's the Cupertino or Palo Alto location. I stayed away for awhile until the hype subsided a bit. When I finally got a table with some co-workers, I was impressed by the creative selection of Asian fusion brunch dishes. The owner and many of the staff are Thai, which I wasn't aware of before but is cool to find out. Coincidentally, there's another Thai-owned fusion restaurant called Son & Garden through the Bay that is similarly good for brunch. The interior looks like it used to be an auto mechanic shop if you look closely at the ceiling. But they've really spruced up the place with cozy and casual decorations. But Sweet Maple's menu is definitely unique in their own right. Incorporating some Korean and Japanese influences, the Tornado Omurice has a perfectly fluffy scrambled egg twisted atop seasoned rice with beef. The Loco Moco has a magnificent gravy and is loaded with mushrooms and vegetables. There are quite a few more menu items but I have only been there twice so I'll need to try more over time. The first time I came to sweet maple I did it all wrong. This place can be quite good when all the strategic moves are made. First off, come around 1-2 pm when it's less crowded and close to closing, unless you're looking for a limited item. Secondly, come with a group of 3-5 people or more. The portions are huge and one plate can easily be split amongst two people. Lastly, skip the drinks since these guys can rack up your bill like no one's business (though I must admit the Ube latte here is delicious). Once you confirmed that you'll be sharing family style, you're ready to dine here. The mochi waffles (especially the blueberry mochi one) are an absolute must order. Let's just say, we were quite literally licking the plate clean. Get the millionaires bacon if you're into that since sweet maple is known for that. The Korean bibimbap split amongst 2-3 people is also really good and so are their rosemary potatoes (which come with most entrees). The staff is very nice here and I can tell why the fam are regulars. If you're on the fence about dining here, take my dining advice and you'll have a ball. read more

I ordered the savory egg soufflé, iced caramel macchiato, the blackstone eggs benedict and the millionaires bacon and everything tasted amazing. The food didn't take too long to come out with the drink and millionaires bacon coming out first. I'd say the egg soufflé WAS good but it's definitely a bit dry to eat since it doesn't come with a sauce. Besides that, it was well seasoned along with the potatoes medley. I'd also recommend the iced caramel macchiato, it comes in a decent sized glass and it's the perfect drink for me as it's sweet but it still tastes like coffee. Been here a couple of times over the last two years and just can't get on board with the popularity level. It's always busy, and the service is consistently between ok and poor. On my last visit (group of 5), everyone ordered breakfast for lunch and the food all came out at different times- my food came out about 10min after everyone else's. I had to flag the server down twice to see what was happening and he kept saying "It'll be out in a few minutes." Didn't seem too concerned. Clearly they forgot as someone else at the table ordered the exact same thing. Manager came over and just very quickly said "It'll be right out." I told him they said that 5 minutes ago and my party was almost done eating and he said "Yeah" and walked away. Gratuity is included for parties of 5+. FYI. Anyway, onto the food. Their famous millionaires bacon is really tasty, but at $24 for a 4 slice sampler is a little ridiculous. The Marnier French toast is definitely delicious and above average for sure. For the fruit on top, grapes are a little weird, though. Don't waste your money on eggs or the pork lime sausage- I'd say they are hotel buffet quality at best. They don't take reservations for brunch at any of their locations, but take dinner reservations through Yelp.
