It will be busy you will have to wait, but let me tell you the turnover of the tables by the staff is its own ballet. And once you are shown to your table the wait will be worth it. Point number two order potatoes that are fried in duck fat and sprinkled with garlic and parsley. *if all. I did was return in the future for those potatoes and nothing more the trip is worth it. Now the place is loud and busy and you would not want it any other way the energy is contagious the "Ambiance" is simple you are glad to be there and the employees are glad you are there too.

Didn't need a reservation to sit, but I assume it's much more crowded on the weekends. Parking was fine. Ordered French toast, avocado toast with poached egg, carnitas Benedict, and Churro waffles. Honestly, everything was a bit average and lacking flavor. The churro waffles were by far the favorite and the best deal, price to taste-wise. Definitely get it if you're gonna try anything here. Otherwise, Bloom was slightly lackluster for me. Nothing terrible, but I prefer Sweet Maple as a brunch spot.

Known for their fluffy soufflé Japanese style pancakes, this cozy little cafe is located in a small…read morestrip mall in Santa Clara. It looks like they took some feedback and offer many savory options such as ramen, bulgogi beef, fries, gyoza, etc. I don't know how that pairs well with the pancakes (a simple bacon, sausage, etc would've been easier but not my monkey not my circus). Note that because pancakes are made to order-it takes about 20 minutes to prepare. I ordered the original out of the 7 other options available (ube, Nutella, custard, etc.) and found it delicious. My friend ordered the matcha and seemed to enjoy it. As they are a cafe, they also offer a variety of drinks. The atmosphere is very cutesy, very demure-very pink. A great place to take the girls or those who identify as such to.

Hanabusa cafe is located in a small plaza, but parking wasn't hard, maybe because I went on a weekday. Cafe decor is cute and feminine (baby pink and white color scheme). They have signs everywhere warning that pancakes take 25 minutes to make, which I found to be fairly accurate, so do be warned! I ordered an original soufflé pancake, and a latte to drink while waiting for the pancake. The latte was only okay, but was good to have something to drink while waiting since it takes so long. The pancakes were pretty yummy. Not as good as other soufflé pancakes I've had, but good. The whipped cream that came along with it was also good, but not amazing. I do wish there was some sort of syrup served alongside it. I wasn't a huge fan of the plate arrangement, maybe a little too cutesy for me? Service is not really interactive or personal. They take your order at the counter, and you go pick it up when it's ready. Overall, this cafe was only okay for me. This is one of those instances where I'll reiterate that my rating is likely because of my personal preferences! If you like a cutesy cafe, and looking for soufflé pancakes, I'd recommend!

My country fried steak was perfectly cooked & flavored and the gravy was exactly right. The hash browns were top notch, grilled crunchy outside & not at all greasy or oily. The wheat toast was exactly as simple as it should be & delicious with butter & strawberry jam. My scrambled eggs left a little to be desired but there's hot sauce on the table to fix that right up. My lunch neighbor had the Ulitmate Fried Chicken Sandwich (pic) and he likes it so much gets it every time he eats here. And the coffee? The coffee comes from Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. The plates in my pics look small but in fact are large plates & might be too much food for some people. The food & service is great but the prices are a bit stiff for lunchtime however the comfort food would be right at home in any Memphis diner.

The eggs and hash brown's were too oily and needed salt, the sauce on the crab benny was grainy. The dishes completely missed the mark, they were below average for sure. At their price point, this is a place I would go for a treat not just an everyday basic meal. The coffee was good, service was nice, food came out fairly quickly and the restaurant is beautiful and spacious.

A local favorite that perhaps has Greek origins. We have been coming here (usually for breakfast)…read morefor over 10 years now. This time it was around noon, so my wife had the mini version of the Mexicano omelette, and I had the American burger with a grilled jalapeño on the side in addition to the french fries and avgolemono soup. My cup of soup came first and I enjoyed it. It was creamy and had chicken breast and rice in it along with a nice lemony tang. My wife enjoyed her omelette, even eating her hashbrowns, which I was surprised to see. Usually, she leaves them for me. She must've been hungry! The hamburger is a half pound of ground Angus beef before cooking and comes with lettuce and tomato and in my case cheddar cheese instead of American. That grilled jalapeño was an extra charge, but that was fine. It came on the side (as does a good dill pickle) and I took occasional bites from it to enjoy the heat On a Saturday as you might expect there was a bit of a weight but not more than 10 or 12 minutes I would say. Their own parking lot can fill quickly, but they have additional spaces available in the parking lot immediately adjacent, but be sure to follow the markings on the sign that indicate where you can park for their restaurant. Very down to earth diner with outdoor seating and a full bar Looking forward to the next time we're in the mood to stop on in!

Stopped into Bill's Café on The Alameda late Thursday morning after a long night of rehearsal,…read moreabsolutely in need of a quick recovery and something comforting to bring me back to life. As always, this place knows how to take care of people. Yadira was our server and she was incredible--warm, attentive, and genuinely kind in that effortless way that makes you feel like you're in good hands from the moment you sit down. The service here has always been great, but she really stood out. The Bloody Mary was perfection: bold, spicy, and exactly the kind of "reset button" I was hoping for. And the tortilla soup? Absolutely phenomenal. Rich, soothing, and deeply satisfying--one of those dishes that makes you pause mid-bite because it's just that good. I came in excited for the Monte Cristo I've loved here for years, the one I've recommended to friends like it's a sacred personal discovery. When I learned it's no longer on the menu... my heart genuinely sank. It was iconic. It was beloved. It was the thing I looked forward to. Bill's, if you're listening: please bring the Monte Cristo back. Some of us are still grieving. Even with that heartbreak, everything else--from the food to the drinks to Yadira's amazing service--reminded me why this place is such a staple. Still one of the best spots in San Jose to recover, refuel, and feel taken care of.
