What complete ineptitude and total lack of customer service! We ordered 2 bowls, and they screwed both of them up. There was NO fish in the FISH taco BOWL, and NO avocado in the AVOCADO chickpea bowl. No, this can't be attributed to short staffing due to Covid, because when I picked up the order, there were 2 people working, ZERO customers in the store, and only a couple of other orders waiting for pickup. What's worse is that after getting home with the order and discovering the missing KEY ingredients in BOTH items, I tried to call the store and only got an automated system with absolutely no way to speak to a human being. And what's even WORSE than that is that this automated system told me to to press 9 to text with someone from customer service, which I obediently did. After receiving an automated text message from their system a few seconds later asking me to describe the problem, I replied immediately. That was 30 minutes ago, and I have heard NOTHING back. That's not customer service, that's "we don't give a rat's *#$ about our customers." read more

This location had the worst service I've ever experienced at a Sweetgreen. The young woman who worked there and made out orders had a HORRIBLE attitude. She was upset that 2 women came in for an order that wasn't made and they had no record of it. She preceded to reprimand her co-worker and act absolutely rude! She didn't change her gloves after using the register and used those gloves to pick up lettuce and throw it into the bowl. An overall subpar location! I have read other reviews that also point out the poor service. The canned review response by management and continued issues shows it is not being addressed. Bring in better management! I've ordered food here several times, and the salads themselves get a 5/5! They are wonderful, healthy, and they don't skimp on the toppings. The reason I'm giving this place a 2/5 stars is because my friends and I ordered 5 salads online around 9:00 pm (their closing hours during COVID at the time was 10 pm). They ended up cancelling our online order without a reason, so we decided to walk over to the restaurant to buy our food. We got there about 25 minutes before closing time and the people working said they were closed, without any explanation at all! You cannot make adjustments (adds or substitutions) to their premade salads like you can in the store. And you cannot specify the amount of dressing you want.There is also a second line for the online ordering folks. And lastly they don't toss your salad when you order online. Shit's wack yo. So if you are ready to eat lunch at a awkward time come here for some fresh green healthy delicious goodness. Otherwise you may just want to continue complaining like myself about the lack of efficient salad establishments in Boston. For a dope spicy salad tip, I favor the Spicy Sabzi and I add sweet potato, avo, chicken, corn, and extra sriracha to my order...yumm!!! Sometimes I treat myself with goat cheese too. I frequent sweetgreen about once a month. I purchased from either the Lynnfield location or the Peabody location. I order a custom salad so that I can choose the ingredients that I eat. I wish that they would actually include more lettuce in the salad. I usually add extra that I have in my refrigerator. I feel that the price is competitively priced for a salad with chicken and sweet potatoes in it. I recommend sweetgreen. read more

Best salad ever. I cannot stress how amazing this place is! Absolute loves! At around lunch time on a Tuesday, this place was 20 people deep in the line. It's kind of like a chipotle but for salads. Fresh ingredients, and lots of it! You can have whatever you like (lalala). Price is also reasonable. I think my customized salad was about $8? The pesto vinaigrette was probably the best dressing I've ever had! I usually skip the dressing bc I can do without in taste and in calories, but this was well worth it! I also love beets, but the ones here were raw. Would've preferred them cooked. I was supposed to share the salad and a soup (lentil, it was good as well) with my boyfriend since we ate not too long before we got here, but I ended up not wanting to give up the salad! We came here after a workout at SLT and it was the perfect post-workout meal. I grabbed the David Chang special which was the Tingly Sweet Potato + Kelp Bowl. I thought this would be the day I'd finally finish one serving in one sitting given I was starved from the workout it was not the case. These meals are so good but they are so filling that I usually end up saving a bit for a second meal. I had about the last 1/6 of my salad a few hours later and it was the perfect mid-day snack. So impressed with this place! TRANSPORTATION: Took the T on the green line and got off at Copley because it's right across from the Boston Public Library. WAIT: There was a pretty big line even on a Saturday at 3pm. It went by quickly, but I think it's long because whenever people customize stuff it takes a long time to order and get your food. ATMOSPHERE: It's pretty long and narrow. You go in and see some small tables and then order first with your greens, then move on to the different toppings and at the end dressing and pay. The sucky thing is that there are very little tables inside and then some outside but since it was so hot we had to sit outside at the restaurant next door. FOOD: I did the custom salad with baby arugula and warm grains (quinoa and farro) which was AMAZING. It's nice to have warm grains in your salad to add texture and flavor, which is still healthy! Farro was very subtle, I mostly tasted and saw the quinoa. Avocado and cheese are extra but worth it, they give you like 1/2 of an avocado. Dressing you get to choose light, medium or heavy. They also give you a piece of bread at the end. WATERMELON LEMONADE - It was OK...kind of bland and not as much watermelon flavor as I would have liked but it's free refills! Overall, loved this place and felt really healthy afterwards. Most make your own salad places are only OK or their toppings are not fresh or they put too much dressing. After an afternoon of browsing on Newbury Street, my friends and I sought out this place as a healthy lunch option. Being one of the first nice days in Boston (and days before the Boston marathon), the line was out the door even after 1pm. While waiting, one of the staff brought out free samples--small little cups of quinoa, mushrooms, red onions, greens, and either tofu or chicken (we couldn't decide), and a light dressing that we also weren't sure of. It was super thoughtful to feed the crowd to tide them over! I ordered a custom salad with 2 bases (quinoa/faro and mesclun) and picked my 4 allotted add-ins (peppers, sweet potatoes, onions, tomatoes). I went with pesto vinaigrette for the dressing and asked for "light" when the server asked me for light, medium, or heavy. Light was about two squirts, but it varied a lot by server. The salad was a really good portion and totaled $6.79 as there were no premium add-ins. They also ask if you want a free added piece of (multigrain?) bread, which of course I did. The salad was beautiful! The picture does not do it justice. Very visually appealing. The bread was awesome. I liked the light pesto and the sweet potatoes were my favorite topping. The quinoa filled me up quickly, so much so that I couldn't finish the bowl. I don't think I would add onions again--I thought they would be caramelized but they were red onions, which I hate because the taste stays in your mouth forever after. They might have caramelized onions as another add-in, but when I said onions they didn't ask me to specify... Overall, service was great--everyone was friendly despite the huge line, although my combo was lacking. The price to make your own salad is reasonable for the portion and locally sourced, fresh ingredients. Be careful of adding premium ingredients (chicken, salmon, avocado, etc.) as most cost $1-6 extra! I'd come back to try a different combo and for the great service. read more

It took a bit of work getting my hubby to go here to eat. He is a big meat eater so anything that has "green" in the name creates hesitation on his part. After showing him the Sweetgreen app on my phone and allowing him to choose ahead of time what he wanted to eat, it was a breeze to get him inside! We both had bowls with chicken and an iced tea. I'm pretty sure this place's grass is grass-fed it's so green We came here at the demands of someone in our family who has become an on-again off-again vegan/vegetarian depending on the day of the week. As someone without these inclinations towards plants, I was a little hesitant to visit. Streetwise there are a few covered seats and a few tables inside. There's usually a long line at meal times, stretching into the back of the restaurant. There are a number of hot and cold salad options but you can build your own as well. Options for chicken, salmon and shrimp are also available. I ordered a so called Harvest salad bowl which had some rice, sweet potatoes, apples but it was probably 80% shredded kale. Despite this, I actually enjoyed this salad- it really feels like a meal. You can get a free half slice of wheat sourdough and can buy a cup for one of their strange but oddly tasteless house drinks. Thought with the cheaper salads being 7-8$ you can't help but think that you may get buy enough ingredients to make a weeks worth of salads... There are a number of locations throughout the greater Boston area. In short, this is a great place for the super vegetarian and at least worth a try. Might come back again. read more

Have been ordering salads for a few years. Really liked Sweetgreen on Wegman's plaza, Route 9, Chestnut Hill. It had a good team, friendly efficient service. Not anymore. Today's person making the salad was very-very slow (probably still learning), carefully grabbing pinches of some vegetables and then putting them down and grabbing smaller amounts. Then when a young man next to her was making a salad for somebody else she started casually talking to him making service even slower. It was really annoying to watch. Very different from a few years ago when workers were smiling, serving decent portions and showing efficiency. The place at Longwood Ave in Boston is not much better. The salads still taste pretty good but I am choosing Clover more often now. read more

I finally tried their make your own salad & what crap! Maybe I'm just homesick for SF's blue barn, but there is no excuse for beets & garbanzo beans to be that hard. I don't know how or why, but my ingredients (arugula, tomatoes, onions, etc) just didn't come together harmoniously. None of their dressings were great on their own & the champagne mustard (or was it vinaigrette?!) that I finally settled on was extra bitter on my salad. $12 down the drain. Sweetgreen is crushing the customizable salad game in this city. They're the Chipotle of salads in Boston. I can recognize their to-go containers from a mile away, and whenever I see one, I get really jealous that I'm not eating it too. Definitely try the seasonal options. For the winter menu, get a salad option with organic wild rice or quinoa. It comes in a thicker bowl that keeps the grains warm, adding warm texture to a usual cold and boring salad. My favorites so far: Harvest bowl Earth bowl Guacamole greens I'm not sure why this place makes me crazy for salad, but it does. There are literally no other options to make your own delicious salad in Boston around this area. You could trek your way all the way downtown for a salad bar, but there's something about watching the friendly, funny staff toss the salad and make little comments while they add your toppings that bring me back. Their pre-made salad options are also on point, and I really have no need to make my own customized salad. I appreciate that. PRO TIP: Please do not hold tables while your friends are ordering at the salad bar during peak hours. There are not enough tables for people to be holding tables with that crazy line.
