First time here and I got the guacamole greens salad which I'll rate an 8/10 Portion 10/10 Quality of the salad and ingredients 10/10 Dressing was a 7/10 Rosemary focaccia bread (extra side) was also a 10/10 The salad was crisp and fresh, the tortilla chips gave it a necessary crunch, & the portion of the chicken was just right, however I felt like it lacked substance- you could add extra toppings so that's definitely what I would do next time. If you're someone who wants a healthy eat// are a conscious eater that prefers to eat more sustainably, more vegetables, greens, or variety- you'll like this place! Met my friend here for our pre-Christmas lunch that we do annually in Walnut Creek. Sure it's pricey but then again what isn't these days? Especially when you're served fresh, high quality ingredients. I thought their pre-configured salad and bowl options had a lot of variety. Something for everyone! I got the California crunch hummus salad which was packed full of flavorful veggies, hummus, chick peas and pita croutons. Very yummy. I don't like olives and they let you substitute so I got shredded carrots and dressing on the side. Nice and filling lunch. Space is on the smaller side for eating in but it seemed most customers were there for take out. Service was friendly and prompt. Tried it for the first time a couple weeks ago and came back again the other day. The first time I went ordered the guacamole greens. I actually felt like they give you a good portion of food for how much you pay. You can either get it with the dressing on the side or mixed it. I got the dressing mixed in. They give you different options for how much dressing you want, light, medium, or heavy. I went with the medium. The medium dressing coated everything but it was not drowning in the dressing too. The added chips to the salad was a nice texture difference in the salad. The chicken was cooked well, it didn't feel dried out. The only thing I wasn't too excited about it, toward the end of the salad you could really taste the lime in the dressing where it got too citrus. read more

From the looks of the place figured it's something new in WC, so we decided to give it a try. To start with - excellent service and that's what grabbed our attention. Don't know the name of the gentleman with cool tattoos - you are a star of this place! No to the food quality: Kale Cesar bowl - kale and chicken nicely chopped, however salad leaves I couldn't wrap my fist in them. Giant and barely fit in my mouth. Slightly unpleasant. Excellent Garlicky dressing. Hot honey chicken plate - cool ingredients, although soggy and spicy hot for breastfeeding mommy. So be careful with that. Came for dinner here at 8:30 PM, they're prepping for closing from what it looks like. Only one person sitting down, eating a couple of workers behind the counter, all the greens are put away and there's no more rice coming out as well as proteins. They were completely out of the wild rice and the salmon. For both of my dishes. I asked what time they were closing they said 10 PM. This place reminded me of a salad spot I LOVE in Seattle (lemme know if you want the name) so I decided to give it a lunch try with my honey. He got the super green goddess and I built my own. The salads were great but I wasn't overly impressed with the build your own. There are lots of options but they charge extra for anything over 4 basic items - once you build a basic salad (tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and carrots) you're out of options and the fees start adding up. I also wanted to try the blackened chicken but they were out so I settled for the mushrooms which were super delish. Also tried the roasted sweet potatoes with the hot honey mustard and they would have been SO much better had they been hot and actually roasted. I ate some cooked and some undercooked potatoes. The dressing was chefs kiss though. I would try this place again. I give a little grace because they just opened, it's a new location, and they are finding their footing. read more

I am so excited that the Sweetgreen Walnut Creek location is open finally! I was able to snag a $5 off coupon for opening week from the Walnut Creek Downtown website. I downloaded the app and referred my boyfriend which gave him $7 off his bowl and $7 off my next bowl! We both ordered ahead via the app for pickup. By the time we arrived, the employees directed us to a separate area of the restaurant designated for pickups. I love that they did this to make lunch time pickups during work easy and quick. We grabbed our salads and sat there to enjoy. I requested mine to be mixed beforehand which is nice to avoid the hassle. Please note - I recommend only doing this for pickup as delivery times can vary and you don't want a soggy salad. I got the Mexican style bowl and my boyfriend got the fish bowl. I have loved Sweetgreens for years. Today I selected a location in CA on Google maps. I clicked order through business directly, and instead of placing it at that location, it selected a location I had previously ordered at while traveling. I immediately contacted support, within seconds, and they wouldn't cancel. I had to contact support again and they still refused and told me to pick it up at the location I ordered it. That would be an 8 hour plan ride and I explained that and he said due to food waste, there was nothing he could do. It was not until I asked to escalate that he continued to scold me and then agreed to refund me one time. It costs far less to make the food than what we pay and the food waste comment means nothing if nobody can eat it. This company has terrible service. read more

When I'm trying to watch my weight/eat healthy, this is one of my go-to spots. The salads are above average in taste, generously portioned, and filling. I've tried a bunch of their offerings and the kale caesar is definitely my favorite! I enjoy that they regularly have seasonal dishes to choose from, which add to their already decently sized menu. The line inside can move a bit slow at times, so ordering ahead of time using their app may be a good option to consider. I'm not a big fan of eating salads as a meal, but when I do, I know Sweetgreen has me covered. They make eating healthy a lot more enjoyable. Overall, I give this place an 9/10. read more

I was shocked to see how big the portion was, it is more than enough for two meals. There's an option for a free slice of sourdough along with the bowl (the person serving me gave me 3, I feel spoiled!). Definitely on the pricy side for a salad. I got a chance to try this place out on September 13th, 2024. I was on my lunch break and I was looking for something new, something I never had before. sweetgreen was where I decided to go to. I walked in. It made use of natural light and even had green and white aesthetics, which was pleasing. Considering this place used to be a furniture shop, it was rather impressive seeing how this was set up. I got a create-your-own-bowl, and I made sure it had things I wanted on there. And I even got a bottle of Green Tea as well; the Green Tea was okay, but the food was DEFIANTLY delicious. The downside is that it's rather pricey, but that's to be expected. And maybe it's just me, but were the portions supposed to be large? Or this is just how it is? Then again, I was just super hungry that day. But I have no complaints about the food whatsoever. I tried the miso bowl, there's a hint of spicy flavor, not what I was expecting. My aunt tried the same thing. I feel like we were chewing for hours lol... Flavors were all there. The miso bowl came w a slice of bread which helped since I originally added rosemary focaccia but cancelled that since the slice was included. Service was good. I also appreciated that he asked us if we wanted light, medium, or heavy sauce. He offered to toss our salads for us which helped so we didn't have to. He was very courteous. There is only interior seating and it enough for a salad place. I liked our front corner table full of sunshine. I wish every restaurant was this conscious about waste because the food is all served in compostable materials down to the utensils. There is also a water station with Togo sauce containers. Some employees are heavy handed while others follow protocol. They are pretty friendly. The lobby is usually clean and the bathroom requires a code. Shoutout to greg and Mickey, they are the absolute best. Good place for a healthy meal! P.S. there is a confusing tip machine. You have to press a number that corresponds to the tip amount you would like to give on the screen then the green circle at the very bottom to confirm or the button above the red X is the option for no tip. $16 for the smallest salad -- I go to Sweetgreen pretty regularly and don't normally regret my order (Customizable Salad with addons: mushrooms, cauliflower, brussels sprouts). But I just went in, and my normal order weighed half what it normally does -- the salad was tiny, and the portions are crazy small given that this is a $16 salad (see photo). This container is half full. The staff is great! So good that I kept trying to fit in another visit and about a month later, I did. I got the same thing but added some kale to it and while it was not as delicious, it was still pretty good. The location is clean and simple and a self serve water station provided everything I needed. In comparing my two visits, I have to say, some employees have a heavier hand than others which I appreciate especially when it comes to protein. Although Sweetgreen has been around for some time, today was my first time trying it when a rep brought it to work. I had the Shroomami bowl, which was tasty but a little too salty for my liking. I'm not sure if the saltiness comes from the dressing or one of the ingredients. The tofu, wild rice, and mushrooms were cooked perfectly. Veggies were fresh - yay for kale as I'm trying to increase the amount of iron in my diet! Other items I want to try are the fish taco bowl, elote bowl (seasonal), kale Caesar salad, super green goddess, farmhouse Caesar, and the roasted sweet potatoes. I love that there's the option to add and remove ingredients. I'm not sure why I haven't tried Sweetgreen until now but better late than never. After my experience, I'm not surprised at the low reviews of this place. I used to like coming here until my run-in with the manager, Sara K yesterday. So they were out of sweet potatoes, the cold ones, and the only ones that they had were the hot ones that were premium items. I asked if they can make an exception because I really wanted to get their dishes that had sweet potatoes in them and I didn't feel like I should have to pay extra. A majority of the dishes have sweet potatoes, and if they're charging clients extra because they're out of something cold vs hot, that's on them. By charging customers extra, you're making them either pay more than they should or not get the type of food that they come there for. I asked for the manager, and she came out with an attitude and was not willing to help me.. I asked her about the situation to see if she can make an exception, anything to help me get what I needed. Nope! She just brushed me off and said if I make an exception for you have to make it for everyone.I asked her if she could work with me, that would be great because I really love their dishes and that I don't feel like I should have to pay because they didn't manage correctly and ran out of an item I told her that I didn't want her helping me if she could refer me to somebody else because her attitude was just horrible. My husband wanted to play on separate receipts. She looked annoyed at this request. Luckily, I had my credit card with me. She proceeded to roll her eyes at this request. When I asked for a plate, she proceeded to get annoyed, simple forgot, then I guess it occurred to her that I asked for it. My husband asked for the receipt of his order, she proceeded to roll her eyes again this request. When you are dealing with people, you need to have your game face on.
