With so many dining options at Nashville International Airport, from Shake Shack and Hattie B's to pizza and grab-and-go spots, I was looking for something different. I wanted real comfort food and a place where I could enjoy a quieter meal while catching up on work between flights. Sweett's BBQ was exactly what I was hoping to find. I ordered the cornmeal-crusted catfish with roasted cabbage and candied sweet potatoes, plus a fresh-squeezed orange juice and bottled water. Every bite was delicious. The catfish was crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, and not greasy at all. A little tartar sauce and hot sauce made it even better. The roasted cabbage was full of flavor, and the sweet potatoes, topped with toasted marshmallows, doubled as dessert. The portions were generous, the prices were fair for an airport restaurant, and the team members were warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. If you're flying through Nashville and find yourself in Terminal C near Gate C16, this place is well worth the walk. There are plenty of places to eat in BNA, but Sweett's stands out for its comforting Southern cooking and hospitality. Life is too short to eat mediocre airport food. When I got there, it was approximately 3pm and I was pretty hungry so alI walked up and I talked to the young lady behind the counter she looked frazzled as she was the only one in sight and I could tell she was slightly frustrated but she was very,very nice. I talked for about 3 minutes to her asked her how her day was and proceeded to ask her about the food she told me a little bit about the dishes that she walked me through what was in the trays she also stated most of it would be replaced soon but when I looked at the food that was on display I decided not to eat here because the way the food looked, it looked like it was dry and sitting there for hours it also looked slightly picked over therefore I did not take pictures as I did not want to embarrass the business or the young lady on duty behind the counter. What I saw was totally different than what I read about this location beforehand stating how good the food was. This is definitely not the case when I arrived so. I will give Swettt's BBQ another chance as I travel to Nashville at least four times a year and maybe I'll give the airport location a chance on one of these trips. 5 stars for the young lady behind the counter , 2 for the food. read more

When traveling through Nashville Swetts BBQ is an absolute must. They have the best Mac n Cheese, crispy Catfish, collards in the state. Yes it may be in the airport but they never disappoint on freshness and flavor. Some restaurants when they add a location in the airports lose quality from the flagship but not Swetts. The service was amazing. Kirk and team were so friendly. Oh and dessert, the peach cobbler is just like grandma made with amazing portions. One thing I look forward to whenever I'm in the south is food. This airport has alot of variety of restaurants available than other Airport I've been to. Located in gate C, there's a food court setup. This restaurant is one to choose from. They have options for the combination plate. Choose a meat and 2 sides of choice. Walk up to the window and choose a protein and then move down to the sides. Hot sides or cold sides. They also have a variety of desserts and pies. Sweet potato pie was delicious. I was at the airport and needed lunch before a flight so I stopped here. I had the chicken strips with veggies and cinnamon apples. All of it was delicious. The veggies were tender but not too soft. I was famished when I arrived in Nashville. Word was it would be 6 hours before I would be having dinner so I stopped in for a sandwich. The staff was exceptionally friendly and suggested the pulled pork sandwich. This was decent BBQ for an airport. Good flavor, tender and juicy! Great airport BBQ. Quick service and a lot of offerings. I wanted to try more, but stuck with the sandwich. The price was what one would expect at an airport. Not sure why the low reviews for this place. It's barbecue food in the airport so it's not going to be anything fancy, but for the price point and what you got, I thought it was fair. I did the one meat plate with pulled pork, mashed potatoes, and fried apples. I regretted getting the fried apples afterwards because I saw they had sweet potato casserole and a few other sides that were more desirable to me. It was $13.99 and very filling. The barbecue sauce on the pulled pork was delicious, surprisingly. Mashed potatoes were not gourmet but were also good. The fried apples were just okay. You can also get a meat plate with three sides or you can add meats, I thought I had initially ordered a two meat plate but that's actually not an option and the employee told me that to add ribs would be $6 so I opted not to do that. I was going to eat at Shake Shack but I figured I could get that at home anytime so I'm glad I stopped by here. One of the breakfast options in the terminal -- I was looking for something other than a breakfast sandwich at 6:30 am. Swett's had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage patties, two kinds of home-fried potatoes (cubes, and what looks like apple slices), and grits. The sausage patties looked like dried out hockey pucks, so I got bacon, scrambled eggs and the apple-slice looking home fries. The potatoes were deep fried and OK. The bacon was sweet and salty but had reasonable flavor but obviously had been sitting for a while. The scrambled eggs were palatable, but came from a big container of eggs that she stirred, with egg-juice dripping out the bottom -- not very appealing. Frankly, the other options nearby weren't any more inspiring, so I got the items above -- a $9.95 breakfast bowl (though not a bowl). The small OJ (Simply Juice) I got was $3.49 ... so airport prices (to be expected, I guess). Was the food edible? Yes. Will I go back when I visit Nashville again? Very unlikely. read more

I was looking for a quick lunch near my gate and decided on Swett's. I got the brisket meal with 2 sides. The brisket portion was about 1/3 fat, 2/3 meat. I did not taste much smoke flavor. The most disappointing part was that the meat seemed oily. I've never had smoked meat that seemed oily. Very odd. For my sides I got the Mac & cheese and carrots. The Mac and cheese was nice and creamy but had more pepper than I cared for. The carrots were good and slightly sweet. One unfortunate thing was the prepackaged silverware. The quality of the utensils was so poor that I could not cut my brisket with the provided fork and knife. Today was my first real trip to Nashville and this place was the first restaurant that I saw that was serving breakfast food. I had not eaten the evening before so I had a serious need to put something in my stomach before I headed off to a business meeting. I noticed this restaurant because they serve barbeque, however apparently 8am was a little too early, and they had not uet prepared the barbeque yet.
