Never Again! If you do not mind being put off, e-mail and phone calls ignored and learning that you were lied to about certain features your new car was supposed to have, then pick this dealership! First, they failed to notify the two loan companies on the cars we traded in and we had to make a monthly payment for each vehicle before they paid the loan off. They still owe us for these payments and it has been almost four months! They were not our cars but we did not want our credit ruined because of their inability to properly handle these transactions. They failed to notify DMV in a timely manner and we finally received the registration the first part of March. I know DMV is slow but if they had notified immediately after we traded the cars in and purchased our new CR-V, this would not have happened. When we traded our two cars in we ask for certain features in the cars and were told oh yes the new car had want we wanted. WRONG!!! We wanted the Honda Link and were told yes it was part of our vehicle, I have spoken to Honda and it is not part of our car's features! This is a feature we needed, but I guess we should have done our homework before ever stepping in to this dealership! this used to be Town & Country Honda. T&C was friendly, prompt and willing to help. swickard took over a few months ago and this was my first time going there under new ownership. was told my oil change and tire pressure system diagnosis would take about 45 minutes. 2 hours later I was told one of the sensors was malfunctioning--which I already knew, just wanted to know how much the fix was going to be. swickard charged me $65 for the diagnosis. I asked them to apply that fee to the fix--something many dealerships do. heck, dick-hannah acura diagnosed my car for free and gave me a loaner when it was going to take longer than 3 hours. the swickard service manager refused to apply the $65 diagnosis fee to the $193 repair and gave me a bunch of attitude. I will never go back and hope anyone who reads this avoids swickard honda too. ***************************************************************** update: I spoke to Sandy at the dealership. she was sincere and took full responsibility for the incident. She also offered a refund for the diagnostic service. I'll give them another chance as she noted they have retained most of the T&C staff. read more

They don't give any direction or acknowledge you once you walk inside, which I would have appreciated since it was my first time and I wasn't sure what to do. I bought my 2007 Honda Accord when it was brand new from Jay Lee Honda, (now Swickard). The dealership has changed hands at least twice since then, and I have always been completely satisfied with the customer service and quality of work. Fast forward to Swickard. Today I dropped my car off for an oil and filter change at at about 11:30 am. (I had an appointment). I arrived after work at approximately 3:15 to find that they were still working on it. Now, if I had come in as a drop in on a Saturday, it would not have taken as long to do the work while I waited. When I questioned why it was not done, I was told that it was in my notes that I'd be picking up at 4pm. I told her that this was NEVER discussed. She simply said that she was reading what my service advisor had put in the notes. No apology. Long story short, i had to wait another 1/2 hour, and when the paperwork was done the amount was higher than I was given at drop off. "It was the computer", again no apology. I was told they didn't take checks, then someone else said yes we do. After losing 2 hours of work (and pay), I left, and have no intention of going back. I've worked in retail for 40 years, this level of customer service was appalling. On a side note, I spoke with a friend who has always gone there for service as well. She had the same experience, and has also said she will not be going back. Shame on you Swickard. I won't hesitate to tell friends and family to go elsewhere. **Update** It's been 3 days, waiting for a call back from Swickard management. This includes Quincy M. Who graciously asks people who left negative reviews, to contact him so that they can "make it right". After leaving a voicemail, no call back. Called again the following day, he passed the buck saying Clayton, the service manager was going to call me that afternoon, and hung up. Guess what? Still no word from Clayton. I even left a voicemail for Brad Mugg, whom I was told is the General Manager of the dealership. Not even a return call from him. I'm sure Honda would be proud of the way they represent! I'm over it, this will be the last time Swickard is even mentioned by me, unless, of course I'm telling someone to beware of their shady professionalism. read more

We needed to get an oil change and a basic check-up including fluids, tire rotation, etc. for my son's Honda Fit before he left Portland to move back to California for grad school. He had purchased the Fit as a new car from Swickard so we decided to go back there for service, and we are glad we did. Service advisor, Alex, gave us great service! 1) He managed to get us an earlier appointment since we were leaving town. 2) The oil change and associated maintenance was free, he told us, because it was the first oil change since the car's purchase. 3) When the appointment took longer than anticipated, and we decided to go to the nearest market to do shopping meanwhile, he arranged for a free Swickard shuttle ride to the market. 4) When a leak in the car's sunroof materialized as the car was given the routine free wash after servicing, Alex very patiently explained how we might clear the sunroof's plugged drain holes ourselves to solve the leaking problem. We are unlikely to use Swickard again since we are returning to California, but we got a very good send-off dealer experience. read more

I'm not a person who purchases vehicles every few years. I have kept my cars for 8-10 years. So finding a place to purchase a car is a very hard thing to do.    I'm a registered nurse working two different jobs, I work hard for my money.  I  had gone to Swickard because one of their employees recommended them. Your employee confirmed Honda would give me a great value and be treated like a family.   But the outcome was not that, on 9/15, I went to see a Honda CRV with high mileage, it was beautiful. I went ahead and started the financial nightmare, during the price negotiation process, I had only two requests to keep my original plates and tags, since they were still valid till 4/22, and a low interest rate (1.99%) which was being advertised.  The financial manager told me this would be corrected later once all the paperwork was reviewed. Several hours later, I was told Honda financial was giving me the best rate, which again he stated this will be corrected in a few days.  I trusted him and Honda's employee So I left feeling a bit odd about the rate in my newer car.  A few weeks later, I was asked to stop to resign the financial contract, and asked again about the rate and was told this will be corrected.     So I took time out of my nursing schedule to resign the contract.  So 45 days later, I received new tags and my interest rate was 4.79%.  My credit rating is good to great, so this interest rate was not good.  I tried reaching the financial manager, and of course he no longer works there.  Then I was told to contact another financial manager, which I did.. He had nothing to say or offered any assistance other than to find another finance company to get a lower rate, they can no longer help me.  He offered to give me two free oil change services, which was already included.  Proving this manager did not review my contact or 'their' internal notes on each contract. He had nothing to offer or say once I corrected him about this.  So I proceeded to find another finance company, Clackamas Credit Union, who offered a lower rate and great over the phone service.  I still had to spend a day refinancing my Honda loan. Even now, I cant believe Honda can't offer to waive the maintenance contract, to at least make sure the vehicle continues to work at peak performance. read more

I was in the process of negotiating the price of a car over text. I had previously come in to test drive the car. After a work meeting I checked my phone and the salesperson had texted to say someone else had called and come down to look at the car. Then I was told that they had first choice over the car because they were physically there. I wasn't able to put any money down or hold my spot as first in line even though the car was in mid-purchase by me. That 2nd person bought the car and I was out of luck. I recently found myself in need of a new (to me) Honda Fit after a recent accident. I went to several Honda dealerships in town and Swickard by far stood out among the rest. Buying a car can be frustraing, especially as a woman. After a terrible experience at another Honda dealership- read a sales guy asked me what would make me "feel more comfortable" while kneeling down next to me like I was a child. Then spent the majority of the time explaining the importance of an exteneded warranty. I have only owned Hondas over the years and am well versed on what they offer and price points. Unreal. I took a few days to curtail my rage then returned to my car search. Enter Swickard Honda. I spoke with Mark Manzo (sales) and Andrew Ryder (used sales manager) and they were willing to listen to what I wanted without telling me what I should get. These two worked to find me a car that fit my needs, staying in touch regularly. I would recommend Swickard (especially Mark and Andrew) to anyone that wants a professional, friendly, informative sales experience. Five stars and double high fives. Had an appt at 9am... walked in wasn't greeted at all or told they would be right w me, so i just kind of stood there aimlessly, until a very long line formed behind me.... I stood in line for what felt like forever then a guy walks in, cuts the line (happens to be all female line) and they immediately serve him. WTF. This service is the worst. They couldnt find my appt bc someone butchered my name, when they did, I was told my car would be done btw 2-4 hours, and it was over 6 before I had to call them, they sent me to a voicemail and then I called back a second time to ask what the heck was going on. Finally got there, they asked if my car was under another name AGAIN. Finally found my care, told me along with my free fix for my recall, i should really get $1500 worth of work done, altho i had gone to my mechanic two weeks prior and it was more like $500 from what my mechanic said. Then apparently they couldn't find my car keys right away so I stood waiting for my car (which was visible about 50 ft away). At least 5-7 employees were just standing around the garage shooting the shoot, while i was waiting. About 10 mins later, they finally drove my car around to me and when I said, "That's my car" he stared at me and handed me the keys without a word and walked away. NEVER go there. read more

In the middle of negotiations they came and got the keys for the vehicle I was ready to purchase and sold it out from under me. They were plenty friendly until I mentioned I was pre approved. They love giving you a loan through them, and if you think they don't get a kickback of sorts for using a loan they set up. You're wrong. Go somewhere else. That was a snake move. He's an excellent communicator, answered our questions directly, explained options clearly, and seemed to genuinely care about helping us. He goes to bat for his customers and gets them the deal! Dillon is top-notch. As a walk-in, I was lucky to work him but if you're serious about buying a new car, call ahead and request Dillon Potter. Buying a new car is typically a dreaded experience, particularly in these crazy times, but Brian and Geoff at Swickard made it easy, fast and pleasant. They were down-to-Earth, low-pressure, readily available and accomodating. They bent over backwards to help me with a quick purchase of our new Honda CRV hybrid and were reasonable and up-front about pricing, working with me to get to an agreeable price and better financing terms. They let me spend a few hours with the vehicle so that my wife could check out the vehicle between meetings and when I forgot my checkbook for the down payment, Brian had no problem driving my old vehicle home so I could give him the check from home. He was very methodical and patient walking me through the car's bells and whistles after the paperwork was done (the typical salesman would have just disappeared to find the next client). Both Brian and Geoff made follow-up calls in the days after the purchase and were avsilable during and after thr purchasing process. It was a huge weight to make this purchase without all the hassles I had expected. Be careful when purchasing here, the extended warranty is not what they say it is. Be prepared to be upsold My husband and I went in to purchase our CRV from lease and after 3 hours of checking finance options we were given an option to finance with Honda and given a high interest rate. We were told that in 12 months Honda would refinance the loan for a low interest rate. Fast forward 10 months...we spoke with Honda Financial about how to go about this and they said they don't refinance and never have! Second issue is we were told having the "bumper to bumper" extended service warranty on our car would cover anything that goes wrong on the car and would be added to our loan but we can cancel anytime and that amount will be refunded back to us. Fast forward two months our car battery dies repeatedly (mind you this car is only 3 years old). We get it jumped through our insurance and bring it into the dealership to have diagnostics. They tell us they have to let it sit for two days. It's our only car so we ask for a rental. They said that it should be covered under our warranty. Fast forward two days later, we get a call from the service department telling us the computer can't find anything wrong with it and now we have to pay them the cost of the diagnostics labor and the car rental. All of which we were told when we bought the car would be covered under this extended warranty. When we asked if the mechanics looked at it outside the computer diagnostics they said, no the computer would have found the problem. Now several months later we are still having issues with our stereo shorting out and the new battery we bought appears to be struggling again and the car is 4 years old. When we look online we find others with similar problems and they found it was the alternator which we asked about when we took it in the first time. So we call the dealership to get the extended warranty canceled back in October since it covers apparently nothing. They said they would send over a cancellation email that we need to fill out and return. They sent over a cancellation for a completely different car and person. We called and left voicemails and sent emails to get it corrected with no response back. It's now April, still no word. We will continue to reach out to the dealership to get this corrected but rest assured we will not be returning here for any new purchases or service. When it was Town and Country we had a good experience since Swickard took over it has been nothing but BAD experiences. It's unfortunate that after being a customer of Honda since 2013 and working with the same dealership we will be looking for a new auto/service home. read more

Was given a quote for a CR-V, agreed to the terms, and ran our credit. Everything was a go (finance paperwork even all printed out). Ready to sign the paperwork only to find out they gave us the wrong price quote. Expected us to pay the difference. They would NOT honor the original quote even though it was their fault. All we got was an apology. The manager was very rude. Horrible customer service from the manager. The sales people were fine to work with. Will never go there again. Do not buy from them. My husband and I were shopping online and found a wonderful deal. We talked to the online salesperson Julie, she told us they had just gotten it as a trade in and it would be awhile before it was available (we live in Central Oregon) but we could start the process. We had just paid a car off from a financing company and asked if they used them, she said would look, then told us no. So she sent me the link on Friday late in the day to fill out their financing app. I filled out she got in touch with us on Saturday saying she only got my husband info and needed me to fill out another one, I was concerned about our credit being ran twice so she said she would look in to it, and then on Sunday she told me that maybe we should just go to the financing company we had asked about. I told ok we would call our financing company Monday she said great. We called her on Monday (she was gone that day) so we talked to some other lady. She told us the vehicle we were looking at sold on Saturday! Then that lady tried to sell us a car with double the mileage for more money! Shame on you Julie and Swickard! read more

I shared my concerns about not really wanting this car and the ability to return soon if I wasn't happy. They ignored my concerns and continued to push the deal. Now I'm into a car I absolutely hate and I just want my car back that I traded in. They were not willing to help make that happen and now I'm stuck in the car and lost alot of money on my trade. We purchased a new CR-V from Swickard Honda in September 2019. My wife and I test drove the CR-V as well as other vehicles and decided just what we wanted prior to contacting Swickard. My preliminary contact was via internet and Swickard was eager to get my business and offered the best price on the vehicle and options that I wanted. After receiving a phone call that my vehicle was ready, my wife and I went to the dealership only to find that a couple of options (door edge guards, mud flaps) were not included after all. We negotiated a compromise price and made the purchase since by then we had been at the dealer for several hours. We were promised 3 free oil changes but only received a coupon for one. Again, not a big deal. We love the car and don't regret making the purchase but would I buy from Swickard again? Maybe, but only if I had everything in writing before walking in the door. read more

Bought a car the end of May. Talked to Christina Bendinger about the car when we got there. Great service from her. Very happy she was involved. Then we were transferred to a finance manager, and the whole buying experience went downhill. I had to take the grandson to the bathroom, and when I got back, the wife was already signing the documentation. Come to find out, he had said we could not get some financing unless we bought all sorts of warranties. I do not understand that as we have excellent credit. I can get financing for anything I want and get a great interest rate. We finally get out, and drive back home, all the way north of Seattle, called back to inquire about things, and continued to get the runaround from everyone we talked to. They never gave me a direct answer, promised to get back to me or send me the information, but never did and had to call back on my own time, to still be promised that everything is going to be taken care of, and never does get taken care of. Now we have a car that the temporary tag is expiring, and we are going to get stuck not being able to drive a car. If I could take the car back to them, I would and definitely drive to another dealership and buy one. read more

If Swickard Honda experience does not keep their word and are not truthful. I live in another state, attempted to purchase a car. The weather prevented me from going out there and informed would be out there the following weekend. They responded with an "OK". That Friday, when i was about to purchase plane ticket, i checked to see if car was still available. An online representative said car was purchased day prior. Even though I informed the salesman i had a pre-approved loan note for the purchase, the salesman was not honest on their true intention. They never followed up to inform me, they never offered to see any other vehicles on their lot. When i voiced my dissatisfaction, their reply was met with "When trying to purchase a vehicle out of state, this comes with a time restraint. If you would like to discuss this further please feel free to reach out directly. 503-722-5000 ext: 4037"' Had they informed me of this prior, i could've left a down payment but was never offered. I have dealt with other dealerships prior and never experienced this type of unprofessional. I strongly urge to be careful when dealing with Swickard Honda !!!!!!! read more
