Upon arrival everyone in my group must be present to be able to get seated and the staff had us read though the yellow paper disclaimer before dining in. Inside is spacious with tons of table and they have private room for bigger party. My friends and I got the ayce crab and shrimp AYCE, first impression was their side dishes- got a whole lot of option, free fish cake soup for first round each skewer cost $1 if we want to order extra. The crabs came out so fast once you're seated and I have to say the presentation is very picture worthy. I wished seaweed was included in the ayce deal as well but you have to order it on the side. So about the crabs- crabs size were smaller and not as plumped as I thought and did not taste as fresh as I thought. Soy marinated shrimps - was very fishy but maybe I just got a bad batch. Spicy marinated crabs- seasoning is kind of off too salty, had to wash it down with the fish cake soup after each bite Soy marinated crabs- was mid at most I like that the roe was still intact, seasoning wasn't anything special it was more like they poured the whole soy sauce bottle and serve it up lol. T = Fish is a spot I have had bookmarked for quite some time. Like others I was intrigued by their AYCE raw marinated crab options. On the Saturday I went for lunch it had about a 15 minute wait. It didn't seem that busy inside but we had to sign in and write down if we were there for sashimi or their AYCE option. They also make you read the rules and agree prior to sitting down. We opted for their AYCE $40 pp. Once we got seated we decided to order everything on the AYCE menu, which was 4 items with banchan. They give 11 types of banchan but I do not believe they are refillable. And although there was a lot of different banchan, nothing really stood out to me. As for the food, we tried their spicy marinated crab, the soy marinated crab, the soy shrimp, and the soup. All the food came with one rice bowl per person but its additional cost if you ask for more. The spicy marinated crab was our favorite. But the soy was good. The shrimp just wasn't our thing. It does get messy since you eat with your hands so I appreciated the box of gloves already placed on the table. The only thing not messy was the soup that came out on a flame. The soup was more just bland broth with a fish cake skewer in it. It wasn't anything special and was quite simple. Overall, the food was decent. I appreciate they had raw marinated crab since there's not many places in LA that offer it. And I did like that it was AYCE. I do want to come back and try their other seafood items. When I came in, I expected to wait for a long time to receive my food, but my food came out very fast. Although we each only got one bowl of rice instead of unlimited, it was suffice. We order two plates of raw marinated crap and one plate of spicy crab and one plate of shrimp. I think the quality of these craps are OK for this price. We were so full. After I made plans to try this place with a friend, my expectations were lowered after reading some of the recent negative reviews. However, we still wanted to try it and came in with an open mind. We came around 4ish on a Thursday and were able to find parking in the lot for free. However, the spots are quite tight so just keep that in mind. We wanted to ayce crab and shrimp which was exactly what we got. I'm not sure if it's because my friend was Korean that we got amazing service, but we definitely got really fast and great service. We ordered multiple rounds and my favorite actually was the raw shrimp. I liked the soy crab better than the spicy one. However, everything was delicious. It was very fresh as well. The crabs are much smaller though compared to if you were to get them at a restaurant a la carte, but the freshness and quality is the same. If I were craving raw crab, I would definitely be coming here instead of an a la carte place! The experience also came with a lot of wonderful sides that you don't often get at regular Korean restaurants. They included fried rice cakes + sausage, tofu, katsu, kimbap, and much more! I've never heard of an AYCE raw marinated crab place so imagine how mindblown I was when I came here wanting sushi and discovered this. It's a new menu they just launched so I think I may have been one of the first few people that tried it. The AYCE menu features two marinades for the crab: spicy or soy sauce. They also even have raw-marinated shrimp as a protein option if you want to mix it up. Now, it is AYCE so it's not the best quality in the world but for the price point of $40 per person, I'd say it's a bang for your buck. I even added on the spicy crab stew for half off and it was sort of a palette cleanser for me after eating all the raw seafood. It was so cozy because all of the crab flavoring seeped into the broth and it had such a deep umami flavor. I paired it with rice and had to remind myself not to get full from soup. The banchan was also crazy because there were 11 of them that came on a huge round, woven basket. I felt like a queen eating that day. An underdog of the meal was the oden. The fish cake was so chewy and the broth was so hot and addicting with rice. I can't recommend it enough as a starter. My friend had seen this place on IG and wanted to try it. I feel like a broken record saying this, but another case of social media "influencers" over-hyping a place. Went here because a friend of mine knows I love raw marinated crab and she saw this spot on social media and thought it would be worth wild to checkout. Based on other reviews this spot seemed promising. TL;DR the poor service makes the food not worth the hype it gets on social. You can get the same quality of food and better service elsewhere. Ambiance - 3/5 From the beginning there's a table that blocks one of the doorways with laminated signs that outline the rules for all you can eat. The space feels dark and the tables are small for how much stuff/big the plates are. It felt like we had to play a balancing game of how we'd manage the dishes (this was just before the mains came out). This kind of meal (especially if you get the spicy raw crab) is messy. It was so dark that it wasn't until we left the restaurant and was standing out in the sun that we noticed that each of us (no matter how much cleaning of of faces we did during the meal (with the limited number of napkins provided - read further on about that whole thing) had spicy sauce on our faces. Service - 2/5 I went with a group of friends who happened to arrive a little bit before I did. They made my friends wait outside until we arrive (it was difficult to find parking despite there being a lot). It wasn't like it was even crowded that would prompt them to make them wait in the hot sun. Upon arrival it kicks off as a whirlwind of an experience. The staff stopped us from entering the restaurant and had us had read a list of rules about the dining experience. I feel like since you're forced to read this list of rules before entering the restaurant (we were pushed to do so in a rush and pushed to make a decision about which AYCE option we wanted to pick without any explanation of the menu before sitting down) it's a lot of information and things to process if you aren't familiar with the process or know how to menu is broken down. Once we got seated at our table our waiter asked us what we wanted to order (again without any explanation of the menu and without really giving us a moment to look over the menu). The waiter had a really poor attitude because we had questions and wanted clarification on stuff. I'm not sure if it was because of possibly a language barrier and maybe he felt he had repeated himself multiple times or maybe he was not understanding our questions but he really made it apparent that us asking questions to understand the menu was a problem. The rules they make you read before entering the restaurant (which at the time I admit I overlooked #4 (a 18% gratuity will automatically be added for groups 4 or larger) makes it almost seem like they can provide poor/bad service because they already were already adding tip to the bill. We had asked for napkins and water about 5x before we were actually given extra napkins or water (I want to note that if the restaurant was actually busy I could understand having to ask multiple times or wait longer to get service, but we went when they had just opened and there was no more than 5-6 groups inside the restaurant). When we were actually given napkins they gave us less than the number of people in the group (we were a party of 6 and they gave us 4) and then had to ask again for napkins because there wasn't enough and we still hadn't gotten another round of water. When we finally got more water there was some kind of soap on the lid of the water container. You could see soap suds still on the mouth of the container. I guess the upside to that is you know it's clean, but the water did taste like soap. I will say that it was nice they had boxes of gloves on the tables for people to use (because it is messy) and there was one waitress who gave us a pack of wet napkins which helped the greatly. Food - 4/5 The food overall was solid. The spicy and soy marinated crab was delicious. A friend of mine who didn't realize we were going to be having RAW crab for lunch was at first skeptical, but said she seemed to like it. The banchan was solid and there were lots of options and they served fish cakes in skewers. It sucks that they don't do refills on the banchan or rice (you get 1 standard size bowl of rice) which sorta makes the meal feel in unbalanced especially if you like to mix the rice with the marinade they use (especially in the crab shells). If they didn't rush you to read the rules before you get seated as a friendly reminder, only the crab and shrimp NOT banchan. Overall if the food wasn't good I'd give this spot a 1/5 but because the food redeemed the poor service I'll give this spot 2/5. Would I come back? Probably not. The food wasn't good enough to justify poor service. Finally got the chance to try their AYCE raw marinated crab + shrimp! Both types of crab (spicy & soy) were solid. They are on the smaller side but still had a good amount of meat in them. The soy marinated shrimp was definitely top for me. We definitely ate our money's worth. However, they do cut you off for ordering after 1 hr, so eat fast and keep ordering since you'll spend a lot of time peeling/cracking shells. AYCE came with banchan + fishcake soup, all pretty solid but nothing memorable. We came on a weekday around 3pm, so there was plenty of parking in their lot. There was only one other table so the staff was pretty attentive. Clean interior and clean restrooms. There was a fly that kept buzzing nonstop around our table tho :/ Overall, I would go again and I think it was worth the price. Happily surprised about the courses. We really should have read the fine print. We were still glad to have ordered the extra spicy tuna roll and unagi. Spicy tuna roll was the best Ive tasted, it was so fresh and flavorful. You can tell with the texture. The sashimi was thicccc and fresh delicious. when the tempura and marinated shrimp came out we were a little scared because we weren't ready for live seafood. We just though of it like ceviche and glad we tried it. It was slimy as expected but the flavor was fantastic. The flavors and balance and intentionality or the combinations was above and beyond. The salmon was boney. Be careful! It was worth slowly picking at it. It was so balanced sweetness and savory. It kinda reminded me of the tomato sauce served with sardines but better. Came here on Thursday evening for dinner with my sister, there were only 3 parties here so service was pretty spot on. We did not order the AYCE marinated crab because I wanted to see the quality. So we ordered the soy marinated crab plate that came with Bonchan, a fried fish, a cup of rice, and a packet of seaweed. This was perfect because my sister ended up not liking the soy marinated crab; so that would have been a waste. Half of the crab that we got in the order were fresh and the other half were fishy, to a point where I just dumped it into the trash because I didn't like the taste. Ambiance was cool, they play music videos on the tv and the get their attention for service, they have a doorbell on every table and it'll alert a server to come and help you.
