    Very stale Vegan Super Nachos
    Tanya D.

I usually enjoy the food here but lately the quality has gone down. Ordered the vegan super nachos and the tortilla chips were the stalest chips I've ever eaten lol I think I almost broke a tooth. These chips literally taste like chips they had before Christmas, then were closed for Christmas and then served again today. FYI I ordered and ate this right away but the chips (as pictured) are so full of oil and so stale. So disappointing.

My partner works in SF and raves about this place. He knows tacos are my favorite food so he was excited to have me taste them when we were staying in town for a concert. Talk about delicious late night eats! We had carne asada tacos (as is for me, no onions + cheese for him). I had an asada supreme quesadilla & it was love at first bite. Im a carne asada girl but I'm happy that they have an extensive Vegan menu too. I can add it to the list of places I'll take some of my friends when they're in town. They have multiple beyond meat options, jackfruit, tofu, and gardein chick'n. We door dashed and the prices were super high- I checked their menu online though and it's way cheaper if you go in person. I understand why businesses have to do this so no biggie. Even with delivery- the food quality was good, no soggy tortillas or anything.

The best Tacos Al Pastor and Carne Asada tacos with Avocado in the city! Very affordable, this meal cost me $11. They are quick to make and so delicious. Very worth it! Good service and nice music vibes!

Came here for a late night snack. The quesadilla was delicious and the servers were so nice! The salsa made the quesadilla taste amazing and there was a good amount of meat inside as well. The inside doesn't have many seats but there is more seating outside. They played great music as well. Thank you taco boys!

Taco Boys in the Castro lives up to its name, the tacos and everything else on the menu are fire. I'm not the biggest fan of their burritos (there are better options nearby), but their nacho fries are my go-to. Pro tip: order online and select fries on the side, then select chips as a side, for the perfect deconstructed nachos and crispy fries combo. Both the red and green salsas are on the mild side. The spot is pretty small inside, so I usually grab my order to go. Staff is always super friendly and welcoming.

Really excellent service! I got an al pastor and a jackfruit taco, they were delicious. They have a ton of vegan/vege options and a wide variety of options. I'll come back!

Taco boys is my new favorite taco Tuesday spot, and probably the most vegetarian friendly taco spot I have ever been to!! I go here for taco tuesdays, where all tacos (meat and vegetarian) are 2 dollars! I think the deal ends around 730? But not all night sadly. The tacos are small, and I usually end up eating ~5, so it's a great deal. Otherwise it is more expensive other days and feels maybe less worth it ( I believe the fake meat ones are 4 dollars regularly). My favorite are the fake sausage, the vegan Al pastor, and vegan carne asada. Truly mind blowing, and such a great way for vegetarians to get their street taco fix without needing to eat meat! (there are sadly so few good alternatives). I've also tried the jackfruit and the vegan chorizo- I thought both were a little too sweet for my taste but my partner loved the vegan chorizo. I will also say that as a flexitarian (lol) I snuck a bite of my partners carne asada and Al pastor and we blown away by both. This place has something for vegetarians and meat eaters alike!! The cons- this place is tiny! Be prepared to either sit outside or struggle to find a table inside during peak taco Tuesday hours. A lot of people seem to get food to go, so that's an option. Overall though, 100% worth the struggle to get a seat, especially on a Tuesday. Have not found a better vegetarian spot than this one for excellent street tacos!

I love that they have a different variety. IF you want to try Vegan it's pretty good as well. My go to is the Chimichanga...simply because you don't find it at that many places. Some indoor and outdoor seating, plus the windows open for when it's those HOT days in the Stro. Also, a great place to simply sit, eat, and people watch. Food is great and reasonably priced.

Tried the vegan chicken, vegan al pastor, and vegan carnitas. The carnitas are marinated -- flavorful but spicy, so skip if you don't like heat. Very small space, not meant for large groups, but service was okay. They took my order at the register, food came out pretty quick, and quality was good overall.

Over the years I've found myself drawn to the other contender in the Mission way more than El Farolito, so I decided it was time to head back to try this legendary burrito shop. Getting to this location is super simple as we took BART and got off at the 24th Street Mission BART station and from there it's a very short walk of less than a block to get to El Farolito. Walking into the shop one is just slapped in the face with the beautiful smells of the carne asada cooking on the grill right by the door-it's wonderful. It's a modest place that you can definitely tell was built many years ago,so no overly modern amenities-this place cares about the food, not the ambiance. We ended up going with a couple of super burritos of Carne Asada ($11.25) & a regular burrito of Al Pastor($10.25) & also added two tacos one with Al Pastor and one with Carne Asada($4.75) They had beers at $4.75-so we grabbed a couple of Modelos. First the tacos-they were just ok,the tacos were crunchy and I don't know kind of gave Taco Bell vibes. Burritos though-that's a whole different animal. The burrito was so well made from the chew of the tortilla to the seasoning of the carne asada to the perfect balance and mix of all the other ingredients.I judge a burrito harshly if the mix isn't right and you don't get every ingredient in every bite and the mix at El Farolito was flawless. The price point was pretty impressive as well. In closing, El Farolito has always been in the mix as one of the top burrito spots in the Mission, and I can say with confidence that it's in my Top 2 in San Francisco currently. It's an incredible burrito and a true "must-visit" spot when visiting San Francisco. P.S. Just a slight heads up when visiting , it's not the safest neighborhood in the world, so just keep your head up when visiting-this is a place one visits for the food experience not the ambiance.

After waiting about 30 minutes, I assumed my order would be ready when I arrived. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. They don't actually prepare the order ahead of time you still have to wait in the long line, then pay and apparently have the order made afterward. Honestly, what is the point of calling ahead if you're still required to stand in the same line and wait? I understand that they may be busy, but the whole purpose of calling ahead should be to make the process quicker and more convenient. The food may be good, but the ordering process was frustrating and completely defeated the purpose of calling ahead. Two stars from me based on the experience.

I found this spot on Yelp after the 1st place we wanted to go to for lunch had a line about a block long. This spot had super good ratings and was also close by. We were so happy we ended up here. There was a few places left to sit inside, and the World Cup semi finals were on too, a good game 6-4 England over France. The cooks were going crazy in the back when goals were scored, it was a fun dining experience. The food here was excellent, the chips were so fresh and crispy, salsa really good flavor and tasted great also. My chile verde was super tender and flavorful. I also tried my kids shrimp quesadilla, and it was great too. Food came out super fast and they still have people there to help you out with bringing the food out and take away dishes, etc. It's a order counter type, then you sit and wait for your food. Tips are in order here when you order as they do wait on you somewhat after you're sat. I would come back here 100% and recommend this spot for good Mexican food.

He said that there's no reservations but he promised to secure some seats for us because the week prior they were really busy. At that point I knew that the service would be excellent. When I got there Jose and staff were super welcoming as if we've known each other for a long time. He gave 2 small plates of rice, red enchilada sauce, green enchilada sauce, mole with chicken tinga, and birria. Everything is super flavorful and authentic.
