Every time I drove past taco express to go to the other taco spot in the parking lot , I wondered what the food was like. Well after the 2nd time getting barely heated food from the other spot , I found your location and don't even remember the name of the other place I had gone for twenty years. Every time I come through , my burrito is prepared like my mother prepared it, Always red hot sauce included. This spot is very good and now is my go to for Mexican faire. Keep up the great work. Vegetarian here! I LOVE their veggie burrito! Also, I asked and the refried beans do not have lard. For whomever is interested. I can't stop eating there lol and honestly, their salsas are really good too. Their spicy is actually spicy. They also have a green salsa that's delicious and not spicy per se. I also really enjoyed their cheese, egg and potato breakfast burrito. I like that the burrito is a really good size and always leaves me satisfied, it's only about 10 bucks and I never wait a long time. I'm from moved to Auburn Ca. 30 year ago and if New of Tico's Tacos on fourth Street they had the best enchiladas and Chili Verde burritos...But they closed years ago. I have to say Taco Exxpress comes so damn close to there just Chili Verde and salsa, it amazing, that I recommend to anyone and everyone who moved from San Jose to try this place. Food is always great. Fresh, hot, and delicious. This place has quickly become my go to spot for rushed evenings. Drive thru is always fast, service is prompt and friendly and we keep trying different items from the menu and so far nothing has disappointed us. And the Bomb Chicken Fries... Omg... Bomb is right. Grabbed some food in the drive through. Was excited to try this place. Outside looked clean, had a large menu, got food fast but yikes food was not good and it was pricier than I thought it would be for an express Mexican food joint. Got the Al pastor quesadilla and it had a pool of grease around it and dripping from it and was not even cut into normal pieces to hold well. The rolled chicken tacos were pale in color and had a weird soft texture. The jacamica drinks were too sweet and gave me a stomachache. Such a bummer was hoping for better. read more

We went to Taco Exxpress for the first time when they had just opened up and it was just ok. We figured they were working out the kinks. Since then, I'm glad to say we tried it again and go there on a fairly regular basis. My husband and I love their chorizo breakfast burritos! And if you go early in the morning, you get a discount. Came here late one night in the way to Tahoe. The drive thru was open but the main room wasn't. I got the street tacos and the meat was drenched in salt. I only got 2 but 1 was enough. My sister put me on to this place - it's new (just opened a couple of weeks ago). She was across the street eating tacos at Jack in the Box because that's one of her things. She couldn't help but notice the attention this place was getting and asked me what I knew about them. I didn't know anything because they were new! I looked forward to checking them out though - especially since they chose to drop themselves right between competitors Taco Bell and Adalberto's (and Jack in the Box, if you like their tacos like sis does). I went for dine-in because I wanted to check out the dining room. It was nice an spacious and well laid out, in my opinion. Alternating tables were marked as "don't use" for social distancing reasons and the other typical COVID precautions were in place as expected. The menu is well-rounded with all of the popular dishes represented. I ordered a wet al pastor burrito and some carne asada fries because a sign just inside the front door caught my eye. I also grabbed a complementary bag of tortilla chips and some salsa from the salsa bar. The chips and salsa were great... gave me something to much on while I waited on my order which was delivered to my table (I intentionally dropped by at a non-peak time, so they weren't very busy). The portions were substantial - I knew right away I'd be taking some food home. I decided to concentrate on finishing the burrito, which was great! Side note: I happened to notice that the ticket on tray said the burrito was 'adobada' instead of the 'al pastor' that I ordered... I realize that the two are related, but found it odd that one word would be in the order system and the other on the menu. Just an interesting observation. The Carne Asada Fries were great too - great flavor and again,, a huge portion. Lots of meat - no skimping whatsoever... the fries were pretty much completely covered. Personal taste-wise, I'd prefer the fries to be just a bit more cooked... but they weren't in any way under-cooked... just personal preference. The service at this location is horrible. If they give you the wrong food, they will require you to come back to the store to fix it. They say "we can't refund you" and you need to come back in for the replacement. That is so inconvenient. Then they try to act like they can't speak English and don't know what you are saying. Horrible service and all because of THEIR mistake of giving me the wrong food. The cashier even confirmed the order when we pulled up too. I won't be returning knowing that they won't refund me if they give me the wrong food. Driving back to the store wasn't an option for me so I guess I have to pay for the food I didn't order. After paying and getting a bag which seemed light I asked if they were sure this was the correct order and they insisted it was. Get home and there are 3 street tacos!!
