I live in La Mirada and I had always pass by and see tacos el Rey, I've ever imagine they have so much stuff in their menu, its not your typical Mexican restaurant with a big menu but at the end its all the same, here they sell tacos al capo, pampas is, they even have carente en Chile rojo with nopales, everything taste like back home, try the flautas, ask for the menu of the day!! They will always have something different. The only problem here it's the parking but the waiting for one it's totally worth it. read more

This was my first time visiting this spot. I got tacos + nachos, both super yummy and satisfied my craving. But the best part of this shop is the customer service. I don't know the guy's name, but Taco Guy looked into my depressed college student eyes and told me that hard work pays off. I think this is a family run business, so it just makes all the more sense to me to continue supporting Taco Guy just as he supported me. read more

I was not a fan of Taco's El Rey I had the chile relleno and it was decent the beans and rice were not my favorite. My husband had the beef wet burrito he did not like it at all. First of all, they messed up my order. I ordered potato tacos and they gave me chicken. I was willing to overlook that huge oversight (good thing for them I'm not vegan) but then I get there and they want to charge me extra for paying by card "fine" I was willing to overlook that as well but then I sat down and ate the food and man... I don't want to use the word gross but the taste was not worth all the hassle. The tamarindo had no flavor probably watered down from being left out for days. The chicken tacos were greasy. I finally had the chance to eat here, & let me tell ya!We ordered the chicken enchiladas, chicken flautas, pozole, with an agua de jamaica, & some horchatas. Service was great & food is definitely delicious! Both the enchilada & flauta plates come with rice & beans. Their pozole included two tostadas. Their avocado salsa has a nice flavor to it. Best home cooked Mexican food. They say there is nothing like mom's cooking, well this authentic place is as close to it as possible. The people are like family when you visit. Tacos are amazing. Got two asada, two carnitas and 3 pastor. Also got a watermelon juice. All the tacos has fresh meat and soft warm corn tortillas. Homemade guacamole salsa provided on the salsa bar. The best part of the experience of going there was the cashier. She was so attentive and you can tell she takes pride in what she does. This is my favorite comfort food ever. I will miss this place so much! I am moving back home to Minnesota and this is one of those little places that just always brought comfort into my life and I will miss it dearly. Was craving good mexican food and came across this place since we were around the neighborhood. I'm sure glad we stopped by. The super nachos were made with actual nacho cheese....say whaaaaaaaaaaaaat!?....tried the sopes and tacos everything was yummy. Came here for my lunch. Ordered before I went and it's the best way to go. The place was clean and COVID friendly. I ordered huaraches and asada tacos. The food was very fresh and hot when I arrived. 1st time here. Little hole in the wall spot. Ordered the flautas meal and a carne asada burrito. Both were delicious and full of flavor. The asada was super seasoned and tender and moist. The salsa bar was tasty. Only wish they had the heat level labeled. We ended getting all 4 options. The ladies there were super nice. They kept coming through the place and checking on us and other customers to see how were doing. They do take cards but charge a 1.00 fee. I recommend bringing cash. We will be back soon. read more

First time trying this place. Come on this is LA County...there are good restaurant every where! We've driven by Tacos El Rey numerous times and really didn't notice it there. We went based on a recommendation by a friend. We were pleasantly surprised at how good their food is! We bought a variety, so don't judge. Their tacos dorados (potato taco) really tasty. I make a point to taste before salsa! Really good! Their beef banderillas (like giant taquitos) were fabulous! They had a green salsa on them and topped with slice avocado. Yum! These can't sit long because they will become soggy...but it wouldn't bother me to eat this way. Their carne asada street tacos were tasty and moist. Really good. Their carnitas torta was tasty and moist. There's nothing worse than dried carnitas! I'm giving four stars only because my husband really wanted their milenesa torta and they didn't have milenesa, so he settled for carnitas torta. I recommend trying this restaurant. I tried this little taco place for the first time this week..kudos on the delicious salsas and perfect rice & beans. The asada tacos were nothing to write home about. I also had the crunchy tacos and they tasted good albeit a bit small. The big winner of the evening was the carne asada torta which was very flavorful and delicious! Downside is their prices are steep! The plate portions are small and drinks are pricey - a medium Coke is $3!!! (no free refills). Other than that, I would try this place again when I was feeling generous with my spending. read more

Ordered a carne asada plate and received a stingy portion for $13.87, which includes a debit card fee of $0.50. While I was waiting, a fly landed on the table in front of me. Disgusting. When I received my order, I said, "Gracias," and they laughed at me. I then realized that they withheld the tortillas when I checked the bag in the car. I had to return to the restaurant to retrieve them. There weren't very many people dining in there either. I can see why. Never coming back here again. read more

Best Quesadilla I've tasted in a while! The consistency of the flour tortilla I've had. It was the right middle ground of not too crunchy and soft. The cheese along with the side of sour cream and and lettuce added another level of freshness so it's not dry. 100% would eat there again. read more
