This is a great small restaurant! I recently moved to La Mirada and was on a mission to find my local taco spot. This is it! What really sealed the deal is the quality of their carne asada. Some places serve you really fatty or tough meat but not here. The tacos are small but they it is worth getting extras! They have a good selection of fresh aguas mexicanas and some good salsa choices. I prefer the salsa de molcajete and the avocado salsa. My wife also LOVES the huevos rancheros. Honestly, everything I have tried so far has been great. My only complaint is that they charge $1 to use your card. But I guess they don't want to eat the transaction costs so I get it. read more

This is a great spot to go to if you are craving for Mexican food. They have so many options and they are at very reasonable prices. The staff is very friendly. They really deserve more hype because I had a great experience with them. There food is very delicious and not salty. They are good portions too. This place is pretty close to the house, but I never made an effort to go. One of our friends recommended it for tacos, so we decided to check it out. I had the super nachos with chicken. They weren't all that super- in fact, they were sort of soggy and the cheese was pretty watery. There was a good amount of shredded chicken, avocado, sour cream and tomatoes, however, it wasn't great. I definitely would not order this, especially since there is an Alberto's across the street that makes a mean plate of fattening food. They make fresh juice for pretty cheap. Not a lot of options, but they juice it right there in front of you. For under $4 I got a 16oz carrot and orange juice. It was blended super smooth and I sucked it down within three gulps. Because it's prepared on the spot, it's not going to be cold, but more like room temperature. It's delicious, and I'd come back for this for a healthy pick me up during the day. Tacos were good and had good flavor. I only tried the steak, but it was tender and had a good amount per taco. No complaints. They also have a big salsa bar with the obligatory carrots and peppers for your to enjoy, too. The staff was really friendly. The guy that took our order answered any questions and came up to our table regularly to make sure we and the other guests were okay. Something that you don't expect at a semi-fast food/taco joint. Based on some of the other reviews, I guess service can be hit or miss, but lucky for us, it was definitely a good night. Parking is a little weird because they share a parking lot with an automotive place. At night it's not much of a problem since you can park in front of the garages. They serve breakfast all day. That's dangerous, especially if I get a hankering for an egg burrito at night. read more

1st Impression- I sure hope someone in this joint speaks English!! Overview- Small, quaint family owned restaurant that serves the classic Mexican fare. No Doritos shelled tacos here!! The prices are good and the food is even better. The food is made to order so you might have to wait 10 minutes but its sure worth the wait. I ordered 3 potato tacos (BOMB) and a mixed fruit salad with yogurt (awesome)!! Their kitchen is sectioned off for the cooking and the other half is for fresh fruit and drinks. They have all you can drink fountain drinks BTW but you just need to ask for a refill. Tripas...Tripas...Tripas I dream about their Tripas Crispy outside and soft and chewy inside. Tripas cooked to perfection. Funny because it tastes way better than having one at a Speciality Korean BBQ place that serves Tripas as their main. My husband and I used to regularly order by phone and pick up, after work and during the weekends. My husband tried to place an order about a month ago and was told they weren't taking phone orders anymore. That was shocking since we did that for years. I came as they were getting ready to close so I guess they weren't happy to see me. :-D Anyways I was craving nachos and I'm not talking about the garbage you get at Taco Bell. These nachos hit the spot perfectly. It uses the nacho sauce which I prefer over shredded cheese for nachos and finely diced carne asada. They throw some diced tomatoes, cilantro, cotija, and sour cream so that every chip is coated in nacho goodness. Unfortunately though I would have given them four stars except I felt that the dish was a little too salty and the chips could have been fresher. read more

After seeing Yelp photos we came here for some awesome Super Nachos. Date: August 15, 2015 @1PM on a Friday. The place is small but authentic looking and does have a sauce bar with salsa, roja and verde - which are plusses for such a small place. Service: We ordered take out. However, with such a small staff and the cashier being the same person cleaning tables you'll be left waiting to ask even a simple question. Food: The "Super Nachos" were super lame. These are americanized style nachos - not even close to what you should expect from a Mexican restaurant. They consisted of too much nacho cheese (the orange one made from American Cheese), stale chips, little salsa, no beans, no guacamole, and little sour cream. It was like eating sopped up microwaved tortillas with American cheese. Their picture shows nachos with guacamole heavy amounts of sauces, sourcream, jalapeños, cheese and beans. However, serving portion and ingredients didn't even look the same - the cashier quoted the exact ingredients we should've gotten before we ordered too. The only saving grace was our choice to add carne asada, which was of course delicious. Other Yelp images are a tell-tale sign of inconsistency. They failed to advertise or tell us that they ran out of guacamole and the plate itself was terribly expensive and small for $7.14 after tax. You're better off getting Super Nachos or Super Fries from Alberto's across the street. I'm sure their tacos must be good and other dishes based on the carne asada we had but this experience left a bad taste and I'm not sure I'd come back. read more

This is a GREAT place! Very friendly staff. Jose is very friendly, an excellent worker, and always puts a smile on our faces. The two "senoritas" ("senioras"?) in back are the BEST cooks... and they are friendly as well! Basically, what you'll find here is delicious, authentic Mexican food - cooked with quality ingredients - for a reasonable price. I had a carne asada burrito, wife had tostada and daughter had carne asada tacos. All three of these dishes were first rate! For "desert" my daughter and I had a smoothies (pineapple. orange and banana) and my wife had "bonicos" which was a plate of chopped fresh fruit in a yogurt sauce topped with shredded coconut. The portion was so large that we ended up sharing it. If you're in the area (or even if you're not) I recommend taking whatever drive (within reason) and coming here. Food is overpriced but the biggest problem with this place is that they don't respect people in the LGBT community because of their religious beliefs. Every time I've gone to that place, I was "helped" by the manager. He would mess up my order on purpose. I understand 1 or 2 mistakes here and then. But it took me a while to see that every single time I had to call and report something missing in my order. Food is ok, too bad the manager is really dishonest. read more

It has been over two years since I first came here and I can say the food and the service has been consistently fantastic! Its hard for me to stray from what I've had because everytime I come I want to eat more of it. These are me orders(excuse the mispelling): Nachos- freakin fantastic, as good a Los Santos truck off leffingwell. Tacos durado - hands down the best hard tacos I've had, better then Pk's or any place I've tried so far. You will not regret getting this. I usually order beef. Chilaquiles: very good. If there's a better place, you need to tell me, now! like i said i haven't tried more stuff but when I come here I literally have to stop myself from automatically ordering more tacos and nachos. Grew up here in La Mirada, but live in Sacramento now. I visited my family for the weekend, and they ordered Taco's El Rey. I ordered the chile verde burrito, and no joke, it was the best chile verde burrito I've ever had. Try this place out! Not a huge fan of the nachos though.
