My family loves tacos Manuel. These are my favorite carne asada tacos. Anytime I'm in the OC & craving tacos, I stop here. We've been coming here for about 6 years now and they're always consistently good. My husband loves their carnitas tacos, but you can only get them on Saturdays & Sundays. I stopped by once on a Friday and they had a note on their truck that they were selling them that day, so my husband got lucky that day. My kids love their al pastor and carne asada tacos. I don't know what they do to the tortillas, but they're flavorful. The tacos come with onions, cilantro, grilled onions (cebollitas), grilled jalapenos, & limes. I love getting their guac salsa since it's not spicy. My husband likes their spicy habanero (green sauce), & my daughter likes their red salsa (not as spicy). The owner has always been super nice and the rest of the staff is friendly as well. They're located on Mabury Street & 17th Street right by the El Pollo Loco. Their truck is black with Tacos Manuel printed in green. They take cash or card and they're open from 11am to 10pm. So this guy put me on hold for 15 minutes and I drove there (still on hold). He wasn't even dealing with any customers. The place was nearly dead. I showed him my phone and asked him why did he have me on hold for over 15 minutes. He got defensive and started calling me the N word. Acting like he was in the streets putting up a front as if he was going to fight me when I wasn't impressed and neither were the family sitting down in the dining room. Bean and Cheese: The bean and cheese is great. The beans are so delicious here! They use white cheese for their burritos which it gives a different/ better taste then other burritos. The burritos are a little small but you get what you pay for. I would definitely come back for their bean and cheese burrito and maybe try their quesadillas since I really like the cheese they use. Asada Burrito: The asada burrito is subpar. I ordered the burrito with no rice so it was with carne asada, beans and cheese. I am not a fan of their carne asada and they was some pieces of gristle. There are way better places that have carne asada burrito. One of the better taco spots in the area if you want a good taco. Their burritos are also some of the best, the way they fry the tortillas add another layer to their burritos. The grilled onions on the side is great and I'm one that hates onions unless it's cooked to the point I can't taste the raw onion flavor. I do love their habanero salsa. Only reason this isn't a 5 star is because their tripa taco, which is my favorite doesn't taste the same as their other locations. Also there seems to be a change in the taco tortillas compared to their old Fullerton location and Santa Ana location. Hands down some of the best tacos in west Anaheim! Although this taco spot may seem to be in the shadow of Food 4 Less, it commands respect and delivers on all the taco levels. Family friendly restaurant with great prices but not so tasteful food With a good amount people in the restaurant, we decided to try this place. As we entered the location, it seemed like any family friendly restaurant. Staff were just doing their job and nothing more. Price for food was better than most places. We ordered 4 tacos of Al pastor, an asada burrito, a regular sized horchata, and a glass bottle of Fanta. Price came out to be around $26. Wait time was around 10 minutes. We tried every salsa they had and out of four only two were semi edible. The other two in flavor were very hard to describe and would not recommend. We finally received our food, and I'm not sure if my wife was hungry but she finished the tacos. I on the other hand got the burrito and I thought it had zero flavor. There were many components I found in the burrito that are not usually there. There was a smudge of guacamole, that astonished me, it was such a small portion. The meat was poorly seasoned. The cheese inside the burrito was overwhelming. Regarding the drinks, when we walked in we thought there was no aguas Frescas because the containers were empty, but it turns out they had some in the back. She came out with my plastic cup of horchata, and were a bit worried as to what the flavor would be. Street taco, but not on a street corner. It's right next to food4less. Pretty cheap and fuss free, with amazing habanero salsa. They have delicious tortilla, not like those 'dusty' store-bought tortillas. The carnitas is dry, asada is just plain weird, lengua and al pastor is a bit so-so. But the tripa is amazing!
