Leaving a BAD review because I was not treated fairly by one of the staffs. I ordered a togo and had been waited for over 30 minutes and still not getting my order. All people who ordered after me got food EARLIER THAN ME. I went to the receptionist and asked and she flamed me by saying they only have one chef cooking that's why it is taking so long. Wow what about people who came after me but still got their food 15 minutes earlier than I did. Also, you would know their hainan chicken rice isn't good if you have tried another hainan chicken place in San Gabriel. Their wontons aren't authentic as well. Great place for some cheap noodle soup. Their broth is very light and healthy tasting so beware if you want a heavy soup this is not the place to go. Their beef and wonton noodle was loaded with stewed beef and their wontons were huge. Recommend with yellow noodles. I also ordered the hainan chicken noodle which was really tender and huge portion. They give you a lot of meat and noodles. They also offer to refill your soup. Recommend with flat rice noodles. My favorite thing here was probably the shrimp rice roll with egg. I've ordered the hainan chicken noodle soup, and to be honest I wasn't a fan of the soup. I basically ate the chicken by itself with some noodles and veggies. The flavor of the soup didn't really stood out for me, Nothing compares to hai phong pho ga bac Nihn in Rosemead (go read my review). I love their Chung fun (rice noodles) similar to the ones my grandma makes, specially when you eat it warm yummmm! Definitely try their rice noodles those are pretty bomb! Service wise, keep In mind this is a mom and pop shop so staffs are a bit limited and it takes them a bit longer to get the order going. We came here to buy some to go breakfast and everyone that walked in after us got their food.. and we literally were the first customers, I tried to be understanding since it seemed they had a big order that they were prepping for so I figured it's gonna take an extra 10 mins or so. This place is not bad! we ordered to go so i cant say for the restaurant feel. We ordered a whole chicken for $20 and asked for extra ginger. They definitely gave us a lot so i appreciated that but the sauce was all oil. Slightly turned off by that because it wasnt even flavorful. just drenched in oil. The chicken was good and not dry. They have other typical Chinese BBQ meats for sale like roast duck, cha siu, etc. If I lived nearby I'd probably come for these things. Lastly, the portions are huge!! Just a lil dip in the delicious, flavorful sauces and you are good to go! The portions are pretty big here, so there was plenty to split with my friends. All the dishes taste super authentic and home made, and I will definitely come back when I'm in the area. I love supporting smaller family owned business and the employees here are so sweet and accommodating! When I ran out of soup for the Hai Nan chicken noodles, the kind lady added soup free of charge. The Hainan chicken is really good!! The restaurant is clean and welcoming :) I like the meat on this Hainan chicken as compared to other places like Savoy and Green Zone and Tasty Food (these places are good too). Or maybe it's my preference, I like when my Hainan chicken meat doesn't have too much fatty parts and tastes like clean chicken (does that make sense). The rice is flavorful and the sauces is very yummy too. I would recommend this place for good Hainan chicken if you don't want to wait as compared to other places. We saw an ad promoting this new eatery which opened 4 weeks ago. So we came to give it a try. It is located inside a shopping center with ample parking spaces. That is a plus. The place is small with less than 10 tables, but it is very clean with comfortable seating. The menu has about 21 items. They serve boba milk tea and Vietnamese coffee at 99 cents each. You can't beat the price! We ordered wonton & beef tripe noodle soup and Hainan chicken noodle soup. The wonton & beef tripe noodle soup came with 5 pieces of wonton and good portion of beef cubes. Each wonton had one shrimp wrapped with pork. The shrimp was very fresh and the beef was very tender. The noodles were cooked right and not soggy! The Hainan chicken was very tender and juicy. The rice noodles were cooked right! For the price, each was a good bowl of noodles! For such a small restaurant, they have three people working and taking care of the customers. They greeted cheerfully and took orders politely. They open from 10 am to 7 pm and are closed on Tuesday. P.S. We returned the next day and brought two friends along. It was Saturday around noon. The restaurant was full of people waiting for takeouts and sit-down diners. Clearly the staff was not able to keep up with the business. We waited for a long time for the waitress to come and take order. We waited even longer for one dish to arrive. The waitress did apologize for the long wait and offered a free refill of our drink. What a gem in El Monte?! This hole in the wall definitely deserves a visit. Their hainan chicken noodle soup portion was good although the soup taste was a tad bland. Of course you can always add some salt and/or soy sauce into the soup. The chicken pieces were delicious. My brother ordered the hainan chicken with rice; the rice tasted similarly to the rice served on the hainan chicken at Savoy. The chicken pieces were definitely from yellow feathered chicken which tasted fresh and delicious. My mom ordered the vegetarian rice noodle roll; it lacked enough soy sauce but the server immediately provided extra upon request. Ultimately I liked the food here; it was good and simple and fast. Save your money and go somewhere else. We ordered wonton soup, steamed egg rice noodle, and steamed beef rice noodles. The wontons were overcooked and mushy. The steamed beef rolls where grainy in texture, don't expect the steamed beef rolls you would get from dim sum. Only the steamed egg rice roll was decent but it could have been better if they served it when it was still hot, by the time we got them, they were lukewarm. As our meal progressed, we saw that their bbq selections (roast pork, bbq pork, roast duck, and soy sauce chicken) are not house made but trucked in from somewhere else, all transported by the owners wife minivan and unloaded while parked in the handicap spot.. The worst part of our meal was seeing how unsanitary all the employees are. None of the bbq selections were covered in the van, they had food all in the back (two whole roast pig, tray of roast duck, tray of soy sauce chicken) and a vat of bbq pork on the floor of the front passenger seat. I didn't think to take pictures until writing this. The food was not stored, wrapped, or handled properly. Writing this is making my stomach churn all over again. It makes me wonder how they record their "A" rating from 08/2021. I think it's time for the health department to revisit them. Needless to say, we will not be coming back. read more

This place in the same plaza as king taco just right across. They have a simple menu - nothing wrong with that. We got the Hainan chicken rice, the chicken noodle soup and the shrimp noodle roll with egg. Hands down the best was the shrimp noodle roll. The noodle was so soft and perfectly cooked.
