Fantastic sushi, beer and wine choices. Full bar available. Friendly, professional employees.

Wonderful Customer service and food. The server was really kind. The only drawback would be the 20% tip that is automatically added.

Loves this restaurant, definitely will be returning! It's a little bit on the expensive side I'd say, but nothing too surprising for a sushi restaurant. I highly recommend ordering their tofu, the outside skin is so crispy, but the tofu is so soft and silky! Their sushi was amazing. I had several of their rolls, I'm not even sure what exactly I had because I just asked for the fresh catch of the day and they tasted delicious! The fish that I ordered was just okay, I wouldn't get it again. I found it a little dry and it took them more than 30 minutes to make. The udon was a great end to the meal! The udon was cooked perfectly, super chewy, and the soup was nice and light. I think my favorite part of the restaurant is how friendly the staff was! They were always smiling and extremely polite. I also think it's super cool and unique that their restaurant doubles as a wine shop! Their Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc was delicious, I absolutely recommend, and to buy the bottle was only $14!

    Taka Ramen

I went here with the family. They got Sushi, and a chicken rice bowl, whereas I got the Taka Ramen. The service was slow, but, it was packed, so I understood. The ambiance was pretty good! I liked it. Personally, my ramen was very.. fishy. I'm not sure of the flavour, but it tasted wrong. I felt sick after it. The Rainbow roll sushi, Diet Coke sushi, and the eel were all delicious (I only tried the rainbow, as I am not a huge sea food fan.) Most will not be getting ramen, and instead will be getting the name sake: Sushi. And for that, it was actually really good. As a non sushi enjoyer, I quite liked what I had. It was very good! Just the right ratio! Also, The Gyoza, which is traditional Japanese style, with Cabbage and all, was phenomenal! Highly suggest it! We got 2 plates of it! Overall, with my Ramen I'd rate it a 2, the rest truly made up for it, and at the end of the day, I actually suggest it!

Went here as part of a Japanese American Society of Georgia lunch event (they usually are not open for lunch) The owner, Taka (who is actually Japanese), is trying to do a lot with sustainability. Not using plastic to go boxes, metal straws, composting at his own house. They put out a buffet for us which included a lot of Japanese winter staples like oden. They also had a delicious Japanese style curry which was dark with umami flavors, but also slightly sweet. The restaurant is totally clean, so are the bathrooms, and the service was quite nice. Didnt get to try their sushi so I cant speak to that. But overall a good experience.

Would rate more like 3.5 stars. Visited for the first time at 7pm on a Thursday with no wait. It is in a strip mall type place so there is parking, but it gets busy. My partner and I ordered the calamari tempura ($10) which came with some sort of tempura veggies as well. It was okay, but probably would not order again. For rolls I ordered the dream team (tuna, salmon, hamachi, cucumber, cooked shrimp, avocado: $16.50) and the rainbow roll (eel, cucumber, avocado, tuna, salmon, hamachi, shimp: $16) I thought the rolls were tasty, but very overpriced in my opinion. The service was good though.

Sushi ! California Roll, Spicy Shrimp Roll, and Super Crunch Roll (my favorite)

Best sushi restaurant i've ever been to! Always a pleasure to visit! I visited for a birthday dinner in the family, and we an amazing experience. Our waitress was so kind , and they took a lot of COVID precarious. They do a temperature check, all staff wear masks, and they have a very nice socially-distanced patio, where we sat. All of the food was amazing, especially the sushi of courses. We had the Popcorn Okra and Spring Rolls as an appetizer. The egg rolls were very tasty and had a nice texture. The okra was very unique and tasty. For sushi, we had Lobster Roll, California Roll, Super Crunch Roll, and Spicy Crab Roll. All were amazing. The spicy crab roll definitely was spicy! My favorite of these 4 was the Super Crunch Roll! it was to tasty that we ordered a second order of it. The Lobster Roll also has a nice taste and texture. Overall, I highly recommend Taka for a special occasion or birthday meal at an amazing, authentic sushi stop!

The above pictures is of the yellowtail cheek and salmon skin roll. both were not appetizing

I dont get it, the place is always busy so i thought i would try it. yellowtail cheek was overcooked and extremely small. The salmon skin roll barely had salmon skin in it. There's a lot better sushi places I would not recommend this place. The atmosphere is very good and the outside deck is very nice. The food I wouldn't recommend.

Taka is a good spot for sushi, Teriyaki etc but I'm not convinced it's the best I've ever had. I made a reservation on open table which I highly recommend as this place gets packed! Servers are very polite and friendly, but very busy and preoccupied. Prices are reasonable for non sushi items. Chicken teriyaki bowl was $8 I believe salmon was $12. They also have a nice list of different dishes you may not try otherwise. Drinks are a heavy pour which is nice!

Went to this sushi spot based on a recommendation and it is within walking distance from my apartment. I was hoping to find a local neighborhood sushi place that had reliably good rolls, but it was underwhelming. We say inside and the ambience was nice enough. The selection of rolls was uninspiring and I didnt see anything on the menu that was a unique roll to the restaurant like some places have specialty rolls that they create and then you want to go there for that special roll that no one has...in any case, the offering was basic but most importantly, the rolls were just ok. Nothing to want to really go back for other than it being convenient. Know that I am not saying the place had anything bad, it is just there are so many other sushi options that I will keep trying other places rather than go back here. Just know before you go this is pretty basic sushi.

First sushi spot in GA I've been to. It's a solid 3 star experience. I will say I have had better sushi, however, it was still really and curbed my sushi craving for the night. I had the eel avo roll and veg spring roll. The spring rolls were so fresh and piping hot I almost burned myself. I feel like it could have had more veg in there and the roll should be a bit thinner. They were decent though. The eel avo roll came with bright Red roe. It made for a great pic. It tasted pretty good. It did end up dipping it in soy sauce which I almost never do with sushi so subconsciously maybe it was missing some umph! Oh and the rolls were small.... For desert we had the tempura pound cake. It wasn't my first choice but the hubs seemed like he really wanted it. I was pleasantly surprised. There was some crisp to it and then moist and hot inside. Since its close by I may try more dishes here but feel like I should venture to find the best spot in town.

We enjoyed the sushi however the Crispy Fried Japanese Chicken was inedible! Please do not order this! It tasted like a burnt on the outside, undercooked inside dark meat nugget. Very disappointing!

We were greeted upon arrival and everyone was so nice! Their service is top tier no complaints. We ended up getting various items from their menu. Starting off with Appetizers: Hanabi was delicious, the crunchiness of the rice and the tuna was well seasoned. Murasaki Truffle Fries unfortunately were a miss for me. They landed a little heavier than I expected and I did not want to keep eating it. They could have been a bit more crispier but overall not bad. Entrees: We ended up getting their signature Nigiris (toro & yellowtail) they were absolutely delicious! Honestly what made us like Tomo more. We ended up getting their 8 nigiri entree with California roll. I would give it 7/10. Dessert: we got their chocolate crepe cake and they gave us a bread pudding. The bread pudding was a bit too eggy for me but the chocolate crepe cake was absolutely rich & phenomenal. Overall we had a great time and they offer free valet! We will be back

Later, she counsels us to order the Black Sesame Ice Cream. This dinner went to a Whole-Nother-Level after May's selection. Just amazing. We learned the roasting of sesame seeds causes a peanut butter and slight dark chocolate flavor which is now my preferred ice cream. She chose fatty tuna, Japanese Snapper among others to create a special entree. I've been going to Tomo for years, but their game recently is raised. It's in the upper echelon of premier sushi hot spots in Atlanta. Unrelated, but the people watching here was amazing, both Jason Bateman and Sara Blakely in the same night!

Law of supply and demand. But given the elevation in quality of life this establishment has provided me with across the years, I feel I owe them some good marketing through a review. If there was a sushi coefficient of freshness, quality, quantity, and cost, this place wins everyday. C= (Fr*Q*q*c) Fr: 9 Q: 8 q: 10 c: 10 C(Yokohama)= 7200 Don't get me wrong - the competition is fierce for delicious sushi (Fudo, MF sushi, Nobu, all the Omakase scenarios popping up in town). What this means is the cost (c) is way too high, giving it a low 1-5 in the equation. Also, quantity (q) is low, about 4-6. So, the resulting coefficient is very low overall. From my understanding, the fish here only comes from Japan, so it's good stuff - and they really load up the rolls (a lot of the time), and they have this deal on weekend for special rolls (25% off I think). So you do get the quality, quantity, and decent price (about $12-15 per specialty roll). The regular rolls are good too, and loaded with fish. E.g. spicy salmon/tuna. So, if you're looking to go crazy on some good sushi without restraint and without breaking the bank completely, this is your spot. family owned I believe, very nice and efficient service. Cozy/casual, not too fancy, but feels comfortable to dine in. No delivery unfortunately on any app, but that makes quality control better IMO. Thank you for your attention to this manner.

What a great deal - my friends and I decided to check it out and we had a great dinner. Servers were attentive and the food came out in a timely manner. I ordered the Samurai Roll, as well as the Chicken Karaage appetizer. The chicken was sooo good - perfectly, lightly fried with sauce to dip. Tender and flavorful! The Samurai Roll was substantial and I appreciate the generosity of the roll. It was topped with salmon, and usually when rolls are topped with fish, it's usually a pretty thin slice of fish, but these slices of salmon were quite thick in my opinion. The pieces of sushi themselves are also fairly thick - it was a big bite for me to eat each piece in one. I made a reservation in advance and the staff already had my table ready even though I was a little early. The table was already dressed with menus, chopsticks, and some small plates/sauce dishes. Love it when restaurants are on top of it!

I wasn't sure how all the flavors would come together, but everything surprisingly worked so well. Next, I ordered the Langoustine Roll with pressed rice. At first, I didn't think I was going to like it, but it ended up being sooo flavorful and incredibly easy to eat. If you have a smaller mouth like me, you don't have to worry about making a mess because the sushi was so soft and practically melted with every bite. Of course, I had to order their Casanova Roll since it's what they're best known for, and it definitely did not disappoint! It was on the sweeter side with plenty of sauce, which was perfect for my palate. Now onto the Miso Steak. I ordered it medium, but some bites toward the end were more well done. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either, so I personally wouldn't recommend it. Overall, I had a great experience here, but I do think the food is overpriced.
