Authentic iced Thai milk tea
Carolyn L.

I'm undecided between a 3 and 4 stars for this place. The food is 3.5 stars, not terribly toned down to Western palate, nor is it very authentic. I guess for Vancouver, it is decent Thai cuisine. I have been here a few times now as it is near work. If the restaurant is crowded or if you are ordering something that needs more time (e.g. BBQ or grilled anything), be prepared for a wait of at least 15 minutes. The tom yum soup and tom kha are both good, personally I prefer the tom kha as the coconut gives a richer finish. It is not very spicy and has a tart taste to it. The pad thai is average and is Thai spicy (I could not remember if I requested for that). I like how they do have the typical Thai seasonings (cut chilies, fish sauce, sugar and chili flakes) in a container. You will need to request for it as it is only 1 container to be shared. The BBQ chicken is surprisingly good and worth the wait. The meat is tender and well marinated. I will skip the sweet chili sauce as it detracts from the taste. I will ask for the chili flakes instead if I want to spice it up. The fried rice has pineapple in it and is not bad, likewise for the chicken with eggplant dish. Not the best but acceptable. Oh, and the Thai iced milk tea absolutely hits the spot. This is the only item which is like what you will get in Thailand. I guess there are enough dishes on the menu to keep me going back, plus a hot bowl of tom yum is fantastic for the rainy chilly weather.

The food here is so good and affordable. Their lunch specials are all around $10. We ate the food so fast so I barely got a photo. We ordered the fried tofu for an appetizer and it was really good

Food quality taste wise, It's alright. The Crispy Chicken and cashew were cooked well but it was a little bland in flavors. It looked good, though. The grilled kebabs were alright as well, nothing special. It wasn't spicy at all, but you'd definitely want to pour a bit of some spicy sauce in there to give it a little kick. The staff were all friendly and efficient. Seems like a small family owned restaurant because i saw one of the staff's kid there. I should add that this was during the Italian festival and the tables were on the street.

Service is quick and they have a counter that faces the kitchen if you're a solo diner. I've also done doordash and the food is packaged well. My only gripe with the delivery is that they don't deliver the noodle in a bowl that is big enough for the entire dish. The noodles and soup are put in two different bowls but you almost can't put them together because it will overflow. This is difficult of you're staying in a hotel so if you can, just eat in the restaurant because they also have hot sauces and pepper that they serve on the table, which they don't give to you if you order delivery.

We received our food within 10 mins. We ordered the vegetarian khao soi. The fried egg noodles added a nice crunch and visual, but the long rigid strands made it a little tough to eat together with the khao soi. The broth looked spicy, but the main flavor profile of the coconut curry was the creamy sweet coconut milk flavor. There were plenty of veggies that were all cooked well, and the rice noodles were fun to chew and novel! Personally, I would have liked some condiments to increase the spiciness or add another layer of flavor. But, for what it is, it was good.

If you're ever in Vancouver, you absolutely can't miss Miku, the Japanese restaurant next to Canada Place! This restaurant is incredibly popular, often requiring a wait, so reservations are highly recommended. This time, I managed to book a window seat a week in advance for the weekend! The renowned Miku restaurant undoubtedly boasts a beautiful view from its windows, excellent service, and of course, delicious food. Their seared sushi is particularly famous. From appetizers to main courses to desserts, the dining experience was very enjoyable. Their signature dessert, Green Tea Opera, is highly recommended!

My partner really wanted to try their Boat Noodle for a while now so we were quite excited to try that dish. The waiter was nice and recommended a couple dishes for us. Som Tum (Papaya Salad) 3/5 The texture was nice and it tasted refreshing but it is QUITE spicy. I appreciate the authentic Thai spice level but it was too spicy for us. I liked the sourness and I know this rating is a very personal rating based on our spice tolerance. Roti with Curry Sauce 3.75/5 Nice, flaky roti that wasn't too oily. I wish there was a little more sauce. Pad See Ew with Crab Meat 4/5 Great flavor. There was a decent number of clumped up noodle but the portion was great. Good amount of crab as well. Boat Noodle Soup 4.25/5 This was the best boat noodle we had so far. Flavorful broth with generous portion of various meats. There could be an option to get more noodles but my partner got this and she was satisfied with the amount since there were good chunks of meat. Good heat that creeps up. Roselle Drink 3.75-4.5/5 Great compliment to the dishes as it lightened and refreshed our pallette. Slightly sour. It tasted better with the food than by itself. Thai Milk Tea 3.5/5 Good enough. Wasn't the best but wasn't bad. Rainbow Sweet Sticky Rice 4.25/5 We were surprised it came in a cup and that it was soup-ier than we imagined. I was hoping that they had mango sticky rice but we thoroughly enjoyed the coconut I think it's also important to keep in mind that this is a relatively fast paced restaurant. There is some wait so you want to finish your food, pay, and leave. The staff was nice but we could tell that they wanted to keep the flow. We would be coming back again for sure! We loved the staff and the food.

The restaurant is located on a busy street and is unassuming/easy to miss so I'm glad my boyfriend pointed it out for us to try with some friends. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share. They all arrived relatively quickly and my favourites were the pad thai and the khao soi. The pad thai was fragrant and on the sweeter side which I like. I also liked the fresh raw bean sprouts on the side. The khao soi was curry noodles with tender beef and crispy egg noodles. The curry was very flavourful with a hint of heat and sweetness. This was also my first time trying curry noodles at a Thai restaurant. The green curry was filled with bamboo shoots, peppers, and a good amount of chicken. The flavour from the bamboo shoots really comes through as well. For the crab fried rice, it came with a spicy sauce and pickled vegetables. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough to go around so I didn't get a chance to get a good taste of it with the rice. However, I scooped some curry sauce from the khao soi onto the crab friend rice and it was delicious! Finally, we tried the mango sticky rice and my goodness, it was so pretty! The rice was warm and sweet which paired beautifully with the slightly tart mango. I'll definitely have to come back to have more of the khao soi noodles!
