So lovely. Love the blue and red colors of the inside, and the view overlooking from the patio and inside is gorgeous. Our waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable. My mom and I tried the stuffed chicken because of how the waitress described the process of making, and oh my goodness it was to die for. So delicious, well plated, and cooked perfectly. I think their espresso martini has also made it on the list of my favorites in the Phoenix (and surrounding) area

The service was top notch from start to finish. This restaurant has an amazing view of the valley and I would recommend making a reservation for sunset. The prices are expensive so you are paying for the location. The food was good, the paella and manchego mashed potatoes were the stars of our dinner tonight.

When you walk into Talavera, the expectation is simple: world-class dining. This is the Four Seasons flagship steakhouse, a place with sweeping desert views, a history of being the culinary jewel of Troon North, and a reputation that stretches far beyond Scottsdale. But here's the thing: at this level, details matter. The table we were seated at? Chipped and unpolished. Not the end of the world in a diner off Route 66, but in a restaurant where entrées climb into the stratosphere, it's a crack in the façade that shouldn't exist. The Food (the redemption): * The paella was the best I've ever had in my life. Rich, saffron-soaked rice, seafood cooked to perfection, layered like poetry in a pan. Worth the trip alone. * The mashed potatoes? Pure velvet. Creamy, buttery, comfort food weaponized for fine dining. * The octopus was delicate, tender, and balanced -- no chewiness, no "what am I eating?" Just pure flavor. * Even the bread was a highlight -- warm, fresh, with that perfect crust-to-soft-center ratio that says someone still cares in the back of the house. The Service... Friendly, attentive, but slow. Smiles and warmth go a long way, but at this tier, pacing is everything. A luxury dinner should glide, not stall. You can't call yourself Four Seasons when the table looks like it came from Goodwill. Paella of the gods, table of the garage sale. Talavera's kitchen is extraordinary, delivering food that sings, but the cracks in service and presentation chip away at the illusion of perfection. At this caliber, the Four Seasons name sets the bar high -- and right now, Talavera's food clears it beautifully, but the details drag it back down.

Love this place for its view! I think just for the view and its calm vibe, I would definitely come back! This place is in the four seasons resort, and had a dinner here when we stayed at the resort. People were friendly, yet we were barely asked if we needed anything and I think we waited very long time for getting our food and our second drink, like a lot longer than usual from other places. Bruschetta with jamon was good, jamon was so good. Steak was actually ok, it was big but just ok. I think some of their dishes are good and some are just ok, yet I'd definitely come here again because of the view!

We ate here twice during our stay and loved both meals. We sat on the patio and had amazing sunset views both nights, which is where I would absolutely recommend you try to sit. Getting right to it, I haven't had a steak like this in a very, very long time. I splurged on the ribeye and it was so perfectly medium rare, tender, and well seasoned I didn't even bother with either of the sauces it came with. Paired with the mushrooms...wow. If you like steak, a steak is a must. We tried several apps over both visits and the octopus, ensalada, and pan con tomato all stand out. I also really enjoyed their signature Manhattan - it's a little different (darker) than what you'd usually get but if you like them, get this one. For other mains we tried both fish dishes, and on the second night we got the paella since everyone else seemed to be getting it. Well, it's a signature dish for a reason. Not cheap - but A+ service, awesome food, and a great view. Get. The. Steak.

The ribeye was sooo good. It literally melted in your mouth.

VEGAN REVIEW Tell me why this Spanish steakhouse has the most amazing vegan food?!?!? Split plates with my friend: roasted heirloom carrots, mushroom and fava beans, vegan paella. All the sauces & flavors were incredible! Beautiful plating. Great wine options. The service is awesome. Knowledgeable, helpful, attentive without bing annoying. Very dark steakhouse vibes. Great AC!

Stayed at the Four Seasons and had dinner here. Besides being sat at a dirty table (I take clean tables very seriously) we had an excellent time! Wait staff was on point and food was absolutely delicious! The tomahawk was perfectly cooked and the Talavera Paella was amazing. It looked like a small portion but was actually perfect. Pro Tip- you MUST order the chocolate wheel. That dessert is one of my favorite desserts ever!! 5/5 stars You can tell this staff is very professional and take their jobs seriously. I had so much respect for their hard work, would definitely come back again. Thank you, Team Talavera!!

another amazing and memorable dinner at the Talavera! had to get the Croquetas de Jamón again as they are just so delicious and rich. tried both salads offered and i couldn't choose which one was my favorite. one was on a bed of pureed butternut squash which was both savory & light and refreshing with the pomegranate. the other rich in whipped goat cheese, both winners! tried the Paella Talavera and had a spiritual experience. my mouth was dancing in flavors and spices. soo good and my favorite thing i've had here so far! saved room for their unique cheesecake and it was also a hit. i could come for just this dessert and their coffee! great service always. sat indoors this time and enjoyed the dim lit ambiance & art.

The strawberry tuna appetizer dish is one of the best dishes I have ever had. Better than a lot of sushi restaurants. Everything is delicious. Great atmosphere for a romantic dinner. Service is fast and waiter is very friendly.

    Seafood Paella

Great vibe and food! I came here for dinner and what a view and menu. I ordered the seafood paella and it was the best I have ever had. So delicious and you get a bit of every seafood in it! Overall a great meal and dinner. Would definitely recommend and come back!

Have heard many good things about this restaurant and finally got to try it!…read more Most of their ingredients were local produce, so the flavors were richer. I have never had an artichoke appetizer like this before - the artichoke was lightly fried with chips, chimichurri sauce and buttermilk - the texture was meaty and the flavor was creamy with a refreshing kick. The cioppino was good too. Again, love the texture - even though it was a soup, the fried leek really added flavors and crunchiness to the dish. And the seafood was really fresh. The bread was also airy. Their service was also excellent! The staff were friendly and immediately noticed that we needed a to-go box even though we didn't request it.

This review is for the totality of the experience…read more I made an advance reservation at Alma Scottsdale for a mid-sized group of 7 to celebrate a special occasion. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.

It was the best octopus I've had in a while, the char flavor and slight crisp was amazing. We enjoyed the creamy sauce, artichokes, and other veggies that came with this dish. The cauliflower and golden beets were incredible too. The chef told us that the Japanese sweet potato was one of the popular dishes, but out of everything we ordered, it was surprisingly my least favorite. I will start by saying it's a shame because this place has real potential! The crafted cocktails are the highlight as they are beautiful, original, and tasty. The food is good for the most part, but some items are overpriced. An example is the bisque cheesecake at $15 as it was on the small side, round about the size of a flan. It was presented nicely w berries, but not worth $15. I am from CA and not even there! The main issue I had was with the ricotta, pesto and tomato jam jar. This was more like pesto, with Ricotta. The Ricotta being listed first by any culinary standard should be the main feature. But the tapered dish had a small amount of ricotta at the bottom, about a fourth, then half the jar full of pesto, then top fourth of tomatoes.(see picture). I couldn't even dig down to get the ricotta and the huge amount of pesto was overpowering. I politely brought this to the waitresses attention by kindly saying I wanted to give some feedback and explained the expectation and that there was very little ricotta and hard to get to it. She handed me a spoon and a plate and I tried in front of her to get to it and said that's not working. She did say she would give the feedback to "them", but did not offer to replace it or fix it. Perhaps offering to bring more ricotta? For the rest of the evening she did not address the situation and I only ate two small bites and sent the entire dish back. At the end of the meal when I saw this was added to my bill, which I should add was $84 plus tip, over $100, w ricotta being $18 for just me not including the other two at the table, I asked if anything could be done about the ricotta dish that I did not eat. She said she would ask, but came back and said her manager said no because this was just my preference!! I felt sorry for the waitress. If the wait staff is not empowered to resolve these issues on their own then the manager should have come to the table! I said okay, paid the bill and left. They lost a repeat customer!! **Contrary to what management stated below, no accommodation was offered or made besides handing me a spoon and a plate. Also, the promise to discuss w mgmt was not followed up on until I received the bill and reminded the waitress which felt like avoidance, 1.5 hours after I sent the dish back. Perhaps there is a communication breakdown or misunderstanding, but my issue was the excessive amount of pesto (a sauce) and small amount of ricotta. Management prefers to argue and defend (without the facts) vs find a solution and humbly accept feedback. I am a manager myself in the luxury market...and customer feedback is at the heart of growth.

Excellent service, a Christmas tree upstairs, and no reservations required. Glad they were able to seat us considering we showed up without reservations. Downstairs gets quickly reserved so seats upstairs are where they push overflow patrons. Right outside Flint's doors downstairs there is a staircase which opens up to the upstairs dining area. Service was prompt, and we got our drinks by the time we had our mains decided. I got a glass of red to pair with my steak. My partner had a refreshing cocktail, but it was decent. The highlights of the night were the food. SO MUCH FOOD! And it was TERRIFIC! For starters we got the artichoke hummus. It sounded a bit weird, but all it was was regular hummus with 4 artichoke hearts that were crispy. The artichoke hearts were crisp, but moist, and I could have kept eating those all day. It comes with 1 pita bread. The server told us to order another and we did, turns out we needed it as the pita breads were quite small ($3 +). Sure only 3 bucks, but nickel and dime if you are spending $14 on an app... For mains I got the filet medium rare with a side of regular potatoes. My partner got the salmon skewer with a side of asparagus. Both the dishes were cooked perfectly and they were familiar dishes with a slightly exotic touch to it. Must be the middle eastern part of the restaurant. The steak came with a ganache or accompaniments of middle eastern sides. Can't recall what they were but they were great when I dipped my potatoes in them. It was sour, tart, acidic, kind of like middle eastern soy sauce. The server recommended it to us and we got it. The salmon skewer came with 5 decent sized pieces on it. Great for a small eater or someone who doesn't want their own meal. It too was delicious and had light touches of sauce or smoke on it. The asparagus is a favorite. It was cooked as usual, typical steak side and both me and my partner enjoyed it! For dessert, as it was my partners birthday the server comped the pound cake. While it was delicious, it was definitely the letdown of the meal. It was way too sweet including the layer of cream that it was doused with. The sweat cream wasn't necessary as the pound cake was incredibly sweet itself. Also, the pound cake wasn't soft like normal cake. It was quite dry once you peeled away the creme layer up top. I definitely should have gone with the Chocolate Ganache Tart. But their mess up worked in their favor. I'm definitely coming back for another meal at Flint!
