Orange chickens are well known and it's hard to dislike them, but this was not the case. The chickens all stick together as you're trying scoop out pieces, as almost they are all one giant piece. The wife loves cheap Chinese food, and Tasty Goody fits the bill if that is what you are looking for. Decent basic selection, but if you ask for anything not on their menu, or to do a "special" combination of items ( I like hot and sour soup mixed half and half with egg flour soup) it will be met with "No, we can't do that", even though the items are the same price and scooped into a separate container. I couldn't believe it, finished ordering, but am left with and will go to my other local favorite cheap Chinese food in Wilmington that does do it from now on. I always see this place when I'm on my way home from king taco. One day my lil bro wanted wing stop which is right next door, so I decided to pop in and see what it was all about. Their juice dispenser for the orange whip didn't work n it took forever for the Asian girl who uses contacts to make her pupils look bigger to decide to put a new syrup pack in. My drink never rlly tasted like actual orange whip but I was so frustrated at that point I told the woman my drink was fine. When my brother was done at wing stop he came into tasty goody and wanted to do the claw machine, and my hands were full so I couldn't hold his food. We looked at the table to set his food down and the table was disgusting, I asked a lady to wipe it down and she asked me if I was gonna eat here, TF? Girl wipe down the table like I asked. Regardless if I'm eating here or not it needs to be cleaned... The floors have food and fluids all over it. It's just not sanitary. This place offers a large amount of food for a fair price, the chicken teriyaki is good, the chow mein was okay. They offer a lunch deals between 12-2 I think which includes a combo with a can soda for about $6. This place is large enough to hold several dozen people dining in. There are also claw machine, games and prizes for kids. Plenty of parents like this place so they can get something for themselves and their kid. They're been in business for a long time now. This is pretty good for fast food Chinese - not only because the portions are ENORMOUS, but because some of the dishes are quite good. Also, they will allow you to substitute the fresh vegetables for rice or noodles at no extra charge. So, depending on how you order, the $7 or so you pay for a two item combo can give you enough food for 3-4 meals. And for $8 you can have three items and probably feed your whole family with it. My favorite items include the teriyaki chicken (it doesn't really even taste like teriyaki chicken, more just like charbroiled chicken thighs), mushroom chicken, green bean chicken and the orange chicken. I also like the fact that they have a chow mien made from thin rice noodles (gluten free!!!) and some veggies. TIPS: 1) Whatever item you order first (after the rice/noodle choice) you are going to get the most of, so order your fav one first. 2) Order veggies instead of rice and spare yourself the carbs, or just make your own rice at home, and get a huge pile of tasty fresh vegetables. 3) After your container is filled, tell them you want to opt for a three item combo, and you will get the 3rd item in a small container for about $1 more. 4) Look at what looks fresh before you order - don't order a dish that looks like its been sitting under the heat lamp for hours and is all limp. read more

This place is all about quantity. It is not going to be the best Chinese food that you will have, or that can be had. Plus, there are plenty more Thai, Cambodian or other Southeast Asian restaurants that will give you the flavor that you're looking for. However, when it comes to quantity, you CANNOT beat Tasty Goody. They will pile on the food. Essentially, you can order one serving and feed two people with it... literally. The is a 3rd world Panda Express wannabe. The food was bland and had obviously been sitting in the steam trays for a long time. Their supplies are stacked all over the place. There's just a general lack of class inside. The worst part was the lack of sanitation. The whole place needed a serious scrubbing. There was a yellow caution cone in the middle of the dining room, standing over a soda spill. You would think they would mop up something right away, but the spill had dried to a sticky pink mess. So I wouldn't really say it's large/huge portion unless you consider it a box of filler. There are better places.
