Went to Tasty Zone BBQ with my chinese friend, he said it's one of the authentic Chinese BBQ spots around. When we got there, the place was packed, and honestly, it was mostly Chinese customers, so I figured that's a good sign! The food didn't disappoint. My favorite dishes were the squid skewers and the garlic oysters, so flavorful and cooked just right. The ambiance is okay, nothing fancy, and it does get pretty loud since it's full that time, but that kind of adds to the energy of the place. I'll be back for sure!

The food was amazing! If you don't like spicy, you can tell them make it mild but everything is spicy. The server were friendly, then environment was good. We went there on Tuesday after work close to 9pm and have late dinner. There were people but not too crowded. The grill lamb was really delicious! The noodle was good but little greasy. Oyster was really good as well! Yummy almost $40 per person for three of us.

Wow, this must be the best Chinese BBQ place in the entire SGV. Here BBQ means pieces of meat on skewers, more like the Japanese yakitori than the American BBQ. I have driven past this place since many years, before finally trying to eat here. I regret each and every day that I had wasted in my life not knowing about how good this place is. I would give it 10 out of 5 stars if I could. Among the dishes, I recommend chicken wings, yellowtail fish, shrimp, potato chips and wonton soup. The taste and the texture are both very good. The service is attentive and friendly, and people eating here are all very happy. It opens late, and a lot of people do come after midnight to have some late-night group gathering. The atmosphere is more suitable for a group of friends, rather than a romantic date.

Food quality and taste overall was pretty good! There were a few skewers and the sizzling beef plate that were a tad bit on the saltier side, but my group let the servers know who notified the kitchen - so everything worked out.

    Oysters so good.

Food very tasty.Service very good. I am strongly recommend you guys should come and eat.they has promotion now $99 will give out 3 beer. $199 will give out 6 beer. So good

I would give 0 star if yelp ever allows me to, it is extremely overpriced w.r.t food quality, quantity and wait time. Just list out some stats here for your own reference. I ordered around 45 bucks of items, and here is what I got, check out the picture and count for yourself. What's even worse is that I waited 52 minutes in their parking lot (not including the travel time). Taste wise just so so. Christmas Day was arguably the exercise for such terrible experience, but why not close the store for good?

Sorry the food quality just isn't great here and they have a B rating. The price of food doesn't reflect the quality. The BBQ truly sucks. The lamb and beef skewers were very poor. Some of the beef in the fried noodles dish was very boney and extremely cooked. The beef skewer tasted like chicken and both were dry and hot on the outside/warm on inside. I am pretty sure both lamb and beef skewers were already made before and simply reheated...yikes!! I know for sure that the quail eggs we ordered were definitely reheated and not fresh! The fried noodles really are more American style (like Panda Express) than Chinese. Also, my chair literally broke when I touched it, didn't even sit down. Not a great first impression. Bottom line, if you just need a place to eat at that's open late, it's acceptable, but otherwise I'd look elsewhere for higher quality food. Service was just "okay" but you're really just eating by yourself here.

Hey guys! I finally got to try Sichuan Impression, which has been featured in the Michelin Guide for 8 consecutive years! The value for money completely blew me away!! This set menu isn't available normally--it's a limited-time experience: * New Customers: 8/14-8/28 * Returning Customers: 8/8-8/13~ Dish Reviews * Sliced Beef and Maw in Chili Sauce (Fu Qi Fei Pian): The chili oil base shows off its classic heritage right out of the gate! So satisfying! * Bamboo Shoots in Chili Oil: The ultimate refreshing summer dish! A mild kick of spice ignites your tastebuds, leaving a subtle lingering sweetness at the end~ * Rattan Pepper Fish: The fish is incredibly tender and fresh. The bold rattan pepper takes over your entire palate, giving your tongue a dancing, tingling sensation while staying light and non-greasy! * Stir-Fried Angus Ribeye with Scallions: Ribeye sliced to the perfect thickness, high-heat flash-fried to lock in the juices. Tender yet satisfyingly chewy with a rich scallion aroma--the ultimate rice pairing! * Chili Oil Wontons (Chao Shou): Thin wrapper, generous filling, smooth on the tongue with zero powdery texture. The chili oil aroma really shines--first sweet and savory, then the spiciness gradually creeps in. The layers of flavor are off the charts~ * Sichuan Impression Cold Noodles: Chewy noodles with a flavor profile of spicy, savory, slightly sweet, and tangy--perfectly balanced to hit all the right notes! * Lychee Sparkling Water: Packed with rich lychee flavor and real fruit pulp--super refreshing and the ultimate spice-quencher! * Returning Customer Exclusive - Free Taro Sweet Potato Balls: Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, enticingly golden. A nice crunch when you bite in--sweet, soft, chewy, and not greasy at all! Sichuan cuisine brings all the complex traditional flavors into comforting, everyday dishes--homely yet so warm~ Being featured in the Michelin Guide for 8 years is definitely no joke!

We selected the Wontons in Chili Oil, Original Kung Pao Chicken, Stir-Fried Angus Ribeye with Scallions, and Home-Style Fried Rice. It all tastes cheap, mushy, or over-sweetened. UGH! It's not awful, but this food currently does not deserve a Michelin Guide label. Rather, this place tastes like Panda Express but with slightly better ingredients. I arrived at Sichuan Impression (Alhambra) on Thursday (around 6PM). Parking is easy because it touches a customer parking garage. Parking sign says, "Authorized Parking for Our Customers & Guests Only - 2 Hour Limit." Upon arrival, there's a crowd of people eager for the Dine LA promotion. There's an electronic waitlist. We waited about 25 minutes before being seated. Staff is rushed and lackluster. Staff is frantically stretched thin, and Staff barely interacts with customers. The service is similar to ordering bad McDonalds at the counter; Staff is indifferent and impersonal. It all felt like a marathon or sprint, as Staff plops the food on the table before running to the next table. Messy dishes pushed onto the table before hurrying away. Staff rushed everyone to order, and Staff almost never checked up on the table until the very end when the "tip option" appeared. As mentioned the family chose the Dine LA Summer Menu ($72). The Wontons in Chili Oil had a delicate, bouncy wrapping (covered in addictive spicy sauce) but the filling was shriveled and small. The Original Kung Pao Chicken tasted sugary like Orange Chicken; it felt like an attempt to hide the dry taste of its chicken. The Stir-Fried Angus Ribeye with Scallions tasted mushy and bland as if a premade bowl had been sitting out for a long time; this tasted like above average buffet food. And the Home-Style Fried Rice is hot and squishy like clay. This rice isn't fluffy and flavorful; rather, it tasted smashed together and wet. This was a BAD showcase of their talents. The food looked somewhat picturesque, but it all tasted rushed and frugal. On ambiance, Sichuan Impression (Alhambra) felt loud, crowded, and plain. The place appears clean, but it was not a memorable spot. At most, it looks like a spruced up cafeteria. Overall, Sichuan Impression (Alhambra) left a poor impression. This business couldn't handle the large crowds, and the mediocre quality/results felt very apparent. This place is not bad, but it's also not great. 3.3 out of 5

It looked like smaller parties were getting seated a little faster. I'm a big fan of dan dan noodles, so that was an easy choice for me. I also liked that you could choose the spice level since most places I've had dan dan noodles at usually serve them pretty spicy. The noodles were good. The sauce was lighter and more subtle than some other dan dan noodles I've had, but I thought it had a nice balance and wasn't overly heavy. I do think the dish could have been a little better with some vegetables mixed in. My friends ordered the Chengdu zajiang noodles and the signature noodles combo, which came with tomato beef noodles and chili oil dumplings. There were quite a few other things on the menu that looked good too. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and would come back to try some of their other dishes.

We'd been talking about getting Chinese food, and he picked Xiang La Hui, his go-to spot for classic Sichuan. I'd never been before, and was more than happy to try a new spot in the SGV. We met up at noon and stayed until the restaurant wrapped up lunch service and gently pushed us out the door, sometime around 2:30. The space was nice, instantly recognizable as a Chinese restaurant in Alhambra. It was pretty quiet the whole time, a good place for a leisurely catch-up. Service was fast and polite, though the combination of QR code ordering and poor Verizon service was a bummer. I had to cross the dining room to take down the wifi password posted on the opposite wall. We ordered a sizable spread for two people: Chong Qing fried chicken, dan dan noodles, wontons with chili oil, and pea tips with garlic. Everything was delicious, most of all the Chong Qing fried chicken, crispy nibbly bits of breaded chicken stir-fried with green onion and hot pepper. I love dan dan noodles and wontons, and thought both were great, if not the best I've had in the area. The pea tips were lovely, bright green and not spicy, but abundantly flavorful. I'd love to come back to Xiang La Hui and try more of the menu. It seems like a restaurant that does everything well, and I'll keep it in mind whenever I'm craving Sichuan.

We got the Boiled Fish in Green Pepper Sauce, Toothpick Lamb, and Mapo Tofu. Everything was definitely super delicious. I do have a pretty high spice tolerance, though, so my experience may be different from others. My friend thought the dishes were pretty spicy, so keep that in mind if you're more sensitive to heat. The fish was super tender and soft, and honestly pretty addictive to eat. The Toothpick Lamb was pretty much the same--you just pop one in your mouth and then immediately want another. It had a nice salty, spicy flavor that made it really easy to keep eating. The only downside is, well, the toothpicks! They definitely slow you down. I also really enjoyed the Mapo Tofu. It was nice and flavorful and went really well with the other dishes. Overall, everything we tried was really good, and I can definitely see why my friends recommended this place.

Very flavorful, authentic Chinese food, and definitely worth trying.
