We couldn't take it anymore, so we looked up a reliable local plumber and H&R had great reviews and are also located in San Leandro. I called them on a Wednesday evening and a man answered on the second ring. I told him what our issue was and he immediately said he could help and was ready to send someone the next morning. I wasn't available that day but was available on Friday, and he instantly said that worked for him and gave me a window of noon to 2:00 pm for arrival. Carlos arrived on time and was an incredibly nice, friendly, professional guy. Our problem was a simple one: sediment had collected in the head of the faucet over time and was blocking the water from coming out. He showed us what he removed, how to remove it ourselves next time, and told us that it's a result of the very old, original pipes in our home collecting that sediment. He arrived and finished the job within 30 minutes, tops. Incredibly smooth transaction and experience. Would definitely work with these guys again in the future.

The water heater project was more expensive than we'd expected, but that was because they insisted on doing things to code; they said that if we didn't want to do things to code, we'd have to use someone else. We didn't bother to get alternate bids on the repiping because we knew their work is solid. Jason, the owner, prepared a very detailed bid. We had a number of questions, and he was very good about answering them. The repiping itself took about four days. The work was far less intrusive than we'd initially expected. They replaced our old steel piping, which was giving us a lot of problems, with copper. During the work we questioned why they were putting in single-handle shower valves when we'd had two-handled valves before, and they gave cogent reasons for doing so. Alligator said that their rates are about average, and we believe them. Perhaps we could have gotten the repiping done by another company at a lower cost. But we'd rather contract with people who have already done good work for us and whose work we trust. We've always believed that the most cost-effective option is to go for quality, and Alligator certainly delivered in that regard. Highly recommended!

The plastic housings for the cheaper PRV were not a good choice so we ended up getting the brass one installed. He also was able to get another small project done for me in time as well to get a water line setup for me. Gary was professional, quick, and took care of the work with attention to detail. Costellos also got him out early morning so that was great. My issues were resolved the same day and Gary was transparent about pricing. Would highly recommend this company. I wasn't upsold or pressured into spending more than I needed to, and I got all my questions answered too.

I've never had to use a Water Restoration service before so I browsed trusty Yelp and reached out to Fire & Water Damage. Glad fellow Yelp friend Karen W gave a glowing review! They seem to answer calls 24/7 and I was able to schedule an appointment quickly. Mike was main point of contact and gave us an estimate and scope of work. Basically, they had to tear out the drywall and insulation from the wet area, dry and dehumidify the area for days, and then put on moon suits and remove any mold. We were able to have 2 techs come on a Friday and then let the dehumidifier run over the weekend. We also had to tear out our upper cabinet since the top was damaged by water. On Monday, they came back to remove any leftover mode and patch things up. The total price came in well below the estimate, which is a huge plus. Very happy with the service and efficiency. If you ever suspect you have water damage from leaks, call these guys and get the problem resolved to ensure mold doesn't form or worst, spread. Note that their services are purely restorative - they'll dry out the water-damaged area and get rid of all the mold. You'll need to hire a plumber first to stop the leaks and then afterwards, a drywall contractor to patch up the holes with insulation and new drywall followed by texturing and painting.

I was looking around for a plumber to install a new faucet in our bathroom. After several calls and quotes from other plumbers I called Taz Plumbing. Two tall African American brothers arrived and looked at the problem and gave me a quote which was less than half the amount quoted by one of the other plumbers. They were very professional and did a marvelous job. They cleaned all the mess and left the place clean and tidy. I am writing this at length because they really impressed me with their demeanor and manners. Taz is a family business started by their father. There are four brothers in the business. At the conclusion I asked if they like Indian food. And the answer was yes, "We like Tandoori, Chicken Biryani and naan." I referred them to Cuisine of India (buffet $9.95) and tipped them accordingly. I recommend them for any of your plumbing needs. Taz and company came out to fix a clogged kitchen sink. He kept in contact and came when he planned to snake the drain. It turned out years of oil and food formed solid sludge. He offered to jet it or replace the pipe which both would have been about the same price. He quickly formed a plan to come the next morning and replace the pipe. They came in at 11:00 and were done by 12:30. read more

It was 830pm and the bathtub filled up with water from the toliet. I had a clog on the main line. Jebz came out and removed the toilet and ran the snake in. I called Master Plumbing Solution for a second opinion after another company quoted me $3,850 to…read morereplace my entire water service line. Wilson came out, took one look, and figured out the big leak was actually on the city side of the meter, between the curb stop and the meter. Not my line at all. He tightened a valve on the spot and cut the leak from about 1,000 gallons a day down to a trickle, then told me to call EBMUD since it was their responsibility to fix. He didn't charge me a cent for the visit. After EBMUD swapped their valve, there was still a small leak. Wilson suggested it might just be a toilet flapper. He was right. I found a running toilet and fixed it myself in five minutes. The meter stopped. So instead of a $3,850 line replacement I didn't need, the real problem was a city valve and a toilet flapper. Honest, knowledgeable, and no upsell. These are the people I'm calling from now on.
